I don’t know if this was missed but I’m going to post it again so I can hopefully see an answer. I’d also like to ask…what exactly is all the talk about frame rates and system resets? Is this RP set within a game? How does this work exactly? Are people aware of this inside the RP?

I would like to note, that Teienai considers a hundred ships excessive force. Unless you count in starfighters that is.
So, I really hope, that this RP will not devolve into a wanking competition of who has the ability to type out the larger number or pull the more devestating weapon from the realms of SciFi (Nova Bombs FTW) or the own minds.
I do hope, however, that the space time continuum remains intact by the end of it.

As for the question of whether or not a small break is in order after one battle or the other to recuperate and replenish, I would recommend that, including for the attacker. Attacking with damaged ships is not a good idea.
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

OOC: Hi, all. It's been a few hours since the little break I had to get myself a breather after all the patching on the RP. The IC thread is now back up and running. Please be mindful that I just released the patch notes from the above few posts from previous page. Expect some graphical deformities and oddities in spawning of Ganon's and Yiga forces on the IC until we get to the blood moon scene later, but it should be playable for us once again. :)

Allow me to address some complaints and comments:

@A m e n r i a Are you interested in joining the RP by choosing the UNSC, Insurrectionists or the Kovunanto? You can join next battle for the UNSC and follow their many regulations, you can join in straightaway with Insurrectionists with no delay needed if you're feeling rebellious, or if you want to be very religious and be part of the crusade, you can join the Kovunanto, however joining the latter is the most difficult. It's just that I have no real application code yet for a few more battles.

@The Selkie So that would mean we been employing an overkill amount of excessive force? I'm sure that some nations of the UNSC side we have here will tell you how to define exactly what excessive force means as a little joke, but @Novaya is really good at this. Yes, I am already planning on a long heresy trial and a post-surgery scene for some of my forces. I use heresy trials against my involving forces after any given battle if I happen to have made major mistakes, but it will be held privately. I will also plan on informing my allies behind closed doors of what I found during the battle like holy relics and such after the heresy trial and the post-surgery scenes.

As for the FPS-related mechanic that I just happen to throw in, this is used to ensure as a fail-safe last resort for the kind of nations that wants to throw in lots of ships than their normal amount just to see if they can display their true fleet power. I don't usually do huge ship battles, but this battle was just unexpected for me on my end to resort towards having more ships than I normally would send, which can be very burdensome for me, but also very demanding for the system engine. So I felt right about throwing in there mid-battle, when things got way too hectic already with Calamity Ganon. So I am hoping that when the prophetic moon scene happens, it should de-clutter almost everything so I can turn back up the graphical settings to the way it should've been from battle start, and will use the Malice shockwave from deactivating the bubble field to give enough moments for both sides to reduce their numbers or face corruption from the Malice, which will help reduce the numbers drastically anyway. I already gave a long explanation from earlier about it, so allow me to link it up for you with a greenlink if you want to read that.

@Imperial-Octavia You're planning on joining? I'll have you filled in at the start of the sixth battle due to having a very long list of queued up nations. I just don't have the actual code yet.

@Remulia Edited already and slight, but enough to ensure that you did good in catching it. Just beware that if you use gravity wells again on the same exact move now that I just reloaded the last recent checkpoint, you will risk another system overload. I don't want to repeat this all over again.

OOC: Oh, so you want to be with the Insurrectionists? It's the easiest faction to join. You want to join in with no waiting period whatsoever. It's very simple.

You just need to choose which UNSC nation that's already agreed upon to breakaway from, and announce your intentions of breaking away from that nation in the IC thread, and you get to use the same exact techs as the nation you intend to break away. You cannot however choose a UNSC nation that's already had an insurrectionist nation there in the first place. @New Saharia is already facing an insurrectionist nation from Republic of Western Sol.

Currently, the following UNSC nations are here below if you're down on this path, including some who are inactive for long periods. You might want to notify the nation you choose in advance up to 24 hours that you're going to break away and set up a casus belli with your own goals.

Allanea (currently inactive and not on here at the moment)
Novaya (active)
Remulia (active)
Reorganized Portugal (active, but not here at the moment)
State of Imperial Russia (currently inactive and not on here at the moment)

Bear in mind that the Kovunanto will not help the Insurrectionist side in any way, so if the Kovunanto ends up later on finding you, then you're very much doomed.

OOC: I will break it down into five simple rules, but if you want more than what I can give you, you have to go to @New Saharia and ask. That nation is the UNSC leader, but is currently not on here for some time, you might want to TG that nation if you're still unsure. Given the infrequent amount of regulation sources I gathered, here's what to expect if you're onto the UNSC instead.

1. Don't kill your teammates and crewmates, or your superiors even by accident unless they are infected.
2. Don't commit war crimes. If you're a religious nation, then don't damage or destroy the holy relics, structures, or worlds with high amount of faith you're trying to protect.
3. Always obey your superiors from your nation's military and other authorities you have from your nation, and those above you within the UNSC's chain of command. When in doubt, ask them of what to do!
4. If your smart AIs if you have them have gone rampant, are damaged beyond repair, or are out of date after approximately seven years of service, you must terminate them immediately.
5. Do not abuse your diplomacy and war doctrines, even if your nation isn't a democracy. If you have to resort to escalate, ask your superiors to gain consent first.

Failure to follow any of these five will result in being investigated by your superiors after any battle you're in, and controversy on your involvement from your citizens.

Ykw that fits Amenria much better, I'll be on their side then. Will Kovunanto try to take over AI in Amenria? There's one in particular that would be fun to see if she ever goes rogue.

OOC: As far as my best units are concerned right now, except for Master Kohga and Sooga, they are still in recovery, but are surely almost ready. However, due to the messing up actions from Day 3 like tarnishing a holy world and the failure of so many objectives, all involved forces of mine will face a heresy trial post-battle, and a long one at that, in private. If they all survive the heresy trial, then possibly yes, they might in some capacity, but only if @Novaya is around and authorizes the use of thaumaturgies and whatnot. Probably my characters prefer interrogation methods rather than using their powers, especially if an AI is super-important. Otherwise, they will act like the usual Elite units. They're mostly the main characters from their past lives now ended up in the Kovunanto, all under the Sangheili caste for different reasons.

Ok. I keep my word from earlier that you'll be included in the UNSC and will let you know when it is time.

No, I'm just opposed to people throwing in 1854124561023485412418974210567893189102456 ships/soldiers/carriers/chicken eggs in. Both in MT and FT (and any other tech level). Excessive numbers (and that was an example, btw, no need to get angry) is no replacement for narrative skill and while you might win with such numbers, "winning", by an arbitrary definition of the term, is not the aim of RPing, at least not to me. Telling good stories is.
And, in my opinion, you can't tell good stories if the OP "has framerate drops and needs to turn down the resolution" (in other words, he looses the overview (would be my guess)).
My recommendation would be to set hard limits to how much force one can bring (with certain exceptions, for example if a core world is attacked) and enforce them. That way, you'll also not loose the overview/won't experience any framerate drops. ; )

As for the...

1. Fair enough, no one likes teamkillers.
2. Define "war crime", please.
3. What about entities, who fight alongside the UNSC, but who do not wish to join the UNSC, like, for instance, Teienai? What about people, who, for narrative reasons, will not follow a foreigner's commands? You'll find, that following the own chain of command is easily done, but the moment a foreigner comes in... it'll break apart.
4. You do realize, that not all AIs SciFi has come up with over the years follow Halo's Rules on AI-BBDs? To return to Andromeda as an example, even without the time skip, Rommie is certainly above 7 and shows no signs of what could be described as rampancy by Halo's standards.
5. No. If my doctrine says, that I react to situation A with manoeuvre B and manoeuvre B turns out to escalate, then, by all kami, the Armed Forces to Teienai will stand in a line and dance can-can in an intensity, that will pierce the heavens themselves! No, fun aside, if the solution to a problem turns out to be "orbital bombardement using several hundred anti-matter warheads (a.k.a. photon torpedoes), and then some more, just to be sure", then yes, my people might ask for our allies to evacuate first within a time limit. If that is not necessary, then it will not be done. Military science is the science to militarily achieve a goal with the ressources necessary, not to throw in everything and the kitchen sink.

I was under the impression that siding with the UNSC doesn't mean joining them. IC, Amenria would only consider accepting orders from USNC people only because they know the enemy better and even then those orders would be treated more like suggestions.

why would the hegemony or league take orders from the UNSC

the hegemony considers the UNSC to be under it's jurisdiction -- in fact it considers all human polities to be remnants of the Hegemony's predecessor state, the Domain of Man, and thus the Hegemony the only legal government for those polities. To the Hegemony, if anything, they should be giving orders to the UNSC.

(By the way, this does in fact apply to all of the other human nations here. The Hegemony's plans after the war are not going to be particularly friendly.)

And... well, the league is founded specifically to guarantee independence from the hegemony; why would they take orders from the UNSC?

the hegemony considers the UNSC to be under it's jurisdiction -- in fact it considers all human polities to be remnants of the Hegemony's predecessor state, the Domain of Man, and thus the Hegemony the only legal government for those polities.

So does that mean the Novayan Stellar Commonwealth, Saiyanese Stellar Federation, New Roman Empire, and Order-State of Merdina to fall under the Hegemony despite the fact the four nations hail from another universe/dimension?

And is the Hegemony against all forms of democracy?

OOC: @Novaya I think that @The Selkie recently dislikes what we both just did over the past couple of days by sending so many ships at each other and making things simply very unrealistic and not as entertaining. What do you think? Will we make adjustments accordingly to keep things fair?

The IC thread is back up and running already, if you haven't heard of me while I was talking to a few nations of what just happened.

Edit: Let's just get on with the IC thing already at our normal pace, and I'll handle the complaints and comments later. I don't want to sit through a whole day typing and explaining things right now. @Novaya, it's your turn as a reminder when you're ready.

Okay.

Unfortunately, I've wasted my time trying to finish fucking NL-10, which is a horrific nightmare even for me due to the mistakes I made and that unexpected things happened. Yeah, I hate that damnable level - so bloody frustrating to the point I had to leave the damn level so many times. Yeah, I hate it.

Got a TL;DR on the insurrection?

Don't ye mean UNSC-affiliated nations?

Oh, and also, I'll be making a short post which would show the Second Reinforcement Package forcing a stalemate; if it's unable to force a stalemate, then it will have to dish out more damages. That's just it, since I don't know what else to write.

The Hegemony regards them as illegitimate warlords on the bones of the Domain, yes.

...funny thing. The Hegemony regards itself as the only genuine democracy.

If I had to explain it -- it's a military autocracy at the high levels, yes. But, well first there's actually a great deal of democracy on the local levels in many cases, though how much of this is the Hegemony's doing and how much of it is the result of the natural inclination/culture of spacers is up for debate. It also uses republican/democratic rhetoric quite a bit and legally speaking is an 'emergency state' that will transition back to a fully-fledged constitutional democracy once certain conditions are met. And even as an autocracy there's a strong sense of rule of law and due process, at least in theory. This is, funny enough, helped by the fact that the utterly bloated civilian bureaucracy actually makes any sort of wide-ranging crackdown or violation of civil rights logistically difficult.

As for why it regards itself as the only genuine democracy -- the Hegemony operates off of precedent. To the Hegemony it has a clear, undisputed line of succession from the Domain via colonial charters, thousands of years of Domain law, it's origins as a military unit of the Domain, etc. There is no legal precedent, in the Hegemony's view, for, say, Novaya, Selk's people, Amenria or, I dunno, Reorganized Portugal -- they're warlords and insurrections.

To put it another way; if you told a Hegoid that Novaya was democratic, they would reply with 'even pirates vote on who to kill'.

A 'True Democracy' for the Hegemony isn't just about having free and fair elections or human rights -- although the Hegemony ostensibly stands for those as well(though much more the latter than the former). It's about legitimacy and succession from the original Domain.

If any of this made no sense, good.

OOC: Tomorrow, rain or shine, it will be the last day of the fourth battle to wrap it up. Next week is heat wave week, so I will make a seperate IC post on Global Affairs that the Kovunanto leaders suggests going on a weekly field trip around their home planets to go do flower hunting for the Kig-Yar, as it will be their mating season coming up. The Unggoy will also have their own mating season too, so they'll be off-duty at the capital's breeding chambers for re-population purposes. The Jiralhanae and Sangheili will undergo serious retraining, the Yanme'e will have a population boom in their hives, and lastly, the three Prophets and the Huragok along with their highest-ranked Sangheili if they survived the heresy trial post-battle to study and open up the Hylian relics with their allies.

Edit: Today's the last day of Battle 4. Battle will end as soon as the Blood Moon appears over Hyrule Castle. And then both sides will have about a week to recover due to an incoming heat wave. Since human nations also have natural satellites like Hyrule, you may also have to contend with your own depictions of the total lunar eclipse, too.

For example, Runeterra on @Remulia is a good one, it already has its own Blood Moon Event ready to go. Others have their own spin of the same lunar eclipse.

In my case, the Kovunanto will not be spared an extra couple of hours to deal with some of their home planet's eclipses, but only if there is at least one. If not, they won't care. Battle 5 will not start until one week passes, after the heresy trial. The heresy trial is already long underway, but it will take seven days to gather the huge amount of evidence from the battle and other battles prior to it once they are in session within the Holy Council, which is not until May 23rd. The post-surgery scene will not be until the day after the eclipse event. During the lapse before Battle 5, I already laid out a field trip week for my nation's species to do various activities like retraining, repopulate, addressing logistics, holding a mass funeral, and so forth. The Kovunanto's allies will share information in private regarding the relics gathered from Hyrule, and informing them of the recent situation before they will depart ways, as well.

There's a very low possibility chance that my capital will somehow get revealed only by name to the whole UNSC side, if it does happen during that time, the Kovunanto will have to start moving their holy capital in the dark and only telling their allies where exactly it is in private.

Unfortunately, I only have some hours to spare here before the heat wave kicks in. I'll do my best to wrap up this battle as quickly as I can. I just need at least @Novaya and @Remulia around to help pick up the pace. @New Saharia will come down later and update the whole situation for the UNSC, as we haven't seen the UNSC leader for quite some time. :(

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Kovunanto, PPC, Selks, anyone, anybody, everybody, everyone, someone and somebody else, I think I have an idea that would interest you all - one that would solve the whole dillemma.

Since we are having our own canons bunched up into this sort of RPverse, I am wondering if you guys would like for the whole thing to be preceded by an anomalous event that for whatever reason intersected/merged a number of universes into one screwed-up border gore or something. Universes alphabetically-designated such as Red-White-Black-Yellow (RWBY), Saturn-Tango-Ano-Render-Starlight-Explore-Command-Tresmond-Orlov-Ranch (Starsector, especially PPC's version of Starsector), Alpha-November-India-Mike-Echo (ANIME, which is part of one of my canons), Zulu-Elder-Local-Defense-Achilles (ZELDA), and several others (especially those from a select number of video games, literature and animes (Warhammer and Warhammer 40K not included)) had merged/intersected which caused the whole Human-Kovunanto War to happen.

Since PPC did say the Hegemony saw all human polities as illegitimate warlords that "devour the corpses of the Domain of Man", this makes the Hegemony's claims all the more legitimate to the Hegoids and illegitimate to others. Such claims, however legitimate the Hegemony claimed, would no doubt cause even more problems in and of themselves - there'll be lots of conflicts, espionage, wars, ROMANCE (like that's gonna happen ofc), border gores, raiding, alliances, coalitions, federations, truces, armistices, broken peace, and even more that can make every nation's days (especially the Hegemony's) absolutely ruined.

EDIT: I realized that this whole thing may have been influenced by/from SCP-3557 ("CK or OK?"), since the universal intersection/merge wasn't even detected. This was in spite of the fact I didn't think of explaining how or why this actually happened.
