The Greant Bountiful Empire of TurtleShroom, being Protestant, doesn't really care about the proceedings of a Papal candidate, as long as he is a mainstream Christian in line with Church doctrine.

While Icfella and Mary are both for Virginio, TurtleShroom is beginning to see the writing on the wall and is beginning to realize that Virginio is a lost cause. Due to the Romagnan Coalition, it might be neccessary for the government of TurtleShroom to back the only other real Pope in the game. This would be over the desires of the TS Rite and many TS Catholics.

TurtleShroom has long believed in the doctrine of "Might Makes Right", so an Antipope that conquers Rome is enough of a Pope to a Protestant realm like TS. Likewise, since the Popess thinks she is the real Pope, TS could also say "well, waging war to shut down an Antipope is both a historically Catholic act and a practical one".

Ultimately, for the sake of convenience and securing enough allies to stop the Popess, etc., TS will probably side with the man backed by Romagna. TS has the backing for a Punitive Expedition, so they will have to side with someone. This is a type of "minor" offensive war that only needs the Parishes to back. A full-on, all-out, offensive war against a sovereign nation and its standing army would need to be put to a referendum.

I should have read this before posting, haha. Well, he's on his way to visit y'all at least, for permanent exile. As for sides you'd want to choose, you might want to go with Naples. The Lords of The Romagna aren't backing anyone yet. Their sole goal was to kill Orsini. And with him gone...yeah I'll figure that out. I doubt they'd allow you to side with them anyway, given your marriage ties to Orsini (government or not, they're on a path of revenge and aren't exactly rationally thinking) and since they're also really deep into Paolo's 'cause'. Symbolically speaking, to the Coalition, he's seen as a living martyr so to speak. The suffering and Christ-like victim of the evil Sack of Rome. And since Paolo is gay, formerly married to a man in the homosexual guard that protects him...He's not a big fan of Turtleshroom.

Paolo, however, is only 18 and has no desire for the Papal throne. He only wants justice for the murder of his beloved. The one pulling some strings politically for the Coalition is Cardinal Joachim de Montalvo-Borja, who also doesn't want the throne, but wants this conflict ended ASAP and with some reforms. He's got a plan in mind, but that's going to be for the end..whenever that is.

Okay, I read your most recent post and was surprised to see you play out my characters. Obviously, making them move around, bringing them in, etc. etc. etc. is always acceptable, but not in the way you wrote them. That is an accidental case of god-modding. There were several OOC behaviors- namely the swearing, particularly on Mary's part -and other actions. In particular, a TurtleShroomian lady would never disrespect her father-in-law, much less reject his titles, unless it was a situation like Mei Lee was in, or a panicked scenario of danger, etc., or the person was abusive.

Thankfully, you've already written your characters' responses, so my part is going to be easy. You got the plot points down, so this will be easy.

I'll correct the god-modding tomorrow, after church. Today is a time for celebration.

I had never heard of the Tarantula Hawk, but it is the stuff of legend in entymology: the literal, scientific answer to "what happens if you get stung" is lie down and scream. You can't get much more metal than that.

I am curious, though. How did you cause said wasp to sting a man? Those suckers only eat tarantulas and never go for humans unless attacked. I was assuming that, for added creepy factors, that a tarantula was placed on her as well.

OP, if it pleases you, I thought that we could do a brief side RP concerning Virginio and TurtleShroom. Simply put, I want Virginio, Mei Lee, and Icfella to briefly return to TurtleShroom and make a non-criminal "Appeal to Ceasar", so to speak. Basically, I wanted them to enter the Tsars' throne room and make their case.

This would be the first appearence of the TS Crown in my stories since the Civil War, and possibly in years. It is there that you would have Virginio plead is case.

Italian culture of the renaissance, maybe, but thanks regardless! Not to brag to much, superbia and all, but its a wonder I'm good at it at all...concerning I've never actually been to Italy...ever.

So its mostly reading and google-fu. As for the tarantula hawk, yeah that was the OG Claude d'Euse's specialty, but I never got to use it in an RP. Those things will sting with agitation like any other horrific monster we call wasps. Like father like son, as above so below....

Oh and without going to much into it so we don't get the RP labeled as Torture smut, I'll merely say for whomever the false Mei Lee, the experience is not going to be pleasant. Their stings are techically nonlethal, AND since they're wasps, they can sting multiple times.

Also fun fact, Tarantula Hawks don't hunt tarantulas to eat them. The adults don't eat them. They find a tarantula, sting it to paralyze it, lay an egg on it, and fly off. The egg hatches, and the larva of the tarantula hawk buries itself into the spider's body to eat it from the inside out as it grows to adult stage.

Wonderful, right?

Usually I'd agree, but this RP is set within the confines of a real world event, COVID-19...and I can barely remember last July. Such was the chaos 2020. That and I don't even know how many of the original RPers are still around. I'm not gonna rush it to a close, but I'm certainly going to nudge it towards an end. So that I can start fresh anew in 2021.

EDIT: Also to be honest, I'm using it to trim the fat of my bloated Dramatis Personae. Several people gonna get murdered.
