I am sad to report that there will be no post tonight. I was very busy preparing a final project for school, and my timetable just didn't work out this time.

However, my rowing practice scheduled for tomorrow was cancelled due to inclement weather, and thus I plan to post tomorrow instead.
Sorry it didn't work out, but I would rather put up a polished post later than a thrown-together post now; especially considering that my next post will be my last before my one week hiatus.

Yes, the Royalists have a limited amount of jet fighters in order to suppress whatever meager air forces their enemy might fly, alongside a much greater proportion of gunships, heavy bombers, and other ground attack craft. I will go into greater detail with this in my next post.

Regarding my plans. I'll definitely continue to make the occasional post about Zhytlo but I certainly wouldn't mind orders from the Reich. Either way I will keep Akordania involved!

I figured it was high time we had a little more insight into the deep cover agents Germany has had planted in Capile for years. As is fairly obvious an operation is underway to target Nemetz family as retaliation for kidnapping Elizabeth but precisely who ordered this is not yet known.

Is it the Kaiser himself, seeking justice for his dear cousin by kidnapping Nemetz wife and children? Could it be Elizabeth’s older brother, Crown Prince Albrecht of Austria and Hungary seeking deadly vengeance? Is it the former Kaiser Wilhelm showing that none challenge the Germania Dynasty?

You assume too much! It won't be as simple as one offensive.

As for the Dutch, they are a proud people, too proud to ask for assistance even in an hour of dire need. I would say an official message is unneeded, but if you send a representative to their government or even just sail a fleet to their waters and send a radio message, then they might accept your aid.

You might have missed it in my last OOC post since I edited it in, but I really liked your post! Very intriguing, both Operation Flutwelle and Ruprecht/Manfred himself.

I don't know enough about your characters (no fault of yours, mind you! you've done a great job with characterization, as always) to make an accurate guess, but based on what I know Regensburg seems like an awful slimy character who might leverage such a plot into more political power for himself. I would imagine that the man behind capturing Nemetz or his family would be in line for quite a few commendations from several governments.

Also, I'm not sure how you're planning to conduct the operation, but would you like descriptions of Nemetz's family and their location?

Early on it was mentioned that Nemetz’s wife and children continued to live in their family home near Colditz. While I presume that security demands they move around a modest amount, I imagine the family home remains a common denominator.

There are so many ways to write combat!

Do what's easiest, truthfully. Whether that's through the first-person perspective of a young Karevkan soldier or perhaps even a narration of the broader chaos. Don't be afraid to draw out a template for your battle post on notepad or something, either! That way you have a decent idea of how you want to start and what your ultimate goal is with the post.

For first-person, describe the horrors the soldier is witnessing in real time. Describe his thoughts and feelings toward it, and toward the enemy. Then proceed with his objective. Was his unit tasked with taking a position or sabotaging an enemy convoy? Is he alone behind enemy lines? Write the subsequent engagements how you feel he would realistically go about it. In other words, if he's alone, he'd probably let a sizable enemy patrol pass.

For third person, again lay out the scene of the battle. Then go into detail about your forces that are currently being fielded. How many divisions? What kind? What's their morale like? In layman's terms, what kind of movements are they making to crush the enemy force? A full charge, flanking? What challenges are they faced with? Perhaps dense minefields, enemy armor, or aircraft? You can take some slight liberties with how the enemy is fielded in front of you if it hasn't been elaborated (i.e. your forces engage with an armored column at "x" hill, or destroy a machine gun position in "y" area). Just don't go full metagamer.

Just my two cents. I'm sure the others have plenty of advice and ideas as well.

New Decius (I'll include as many details as I can think of just in case they're useful to you):

Nemetz's family resides in a large and comfortable, but not ostentatious, house a few kilometers from Colditz. Although the home is within the boundaries of Neustadt, one of the suburbs of Colditz, it is located a fair distance from any other residences or buildings, and is surrounded by several acres of sparsely-wooded grassland.

The perimeter of this location is fenced and all vehicles entering or exiting through the main road (which ends at the entrance of the property) are processed through a security checkpoint which boasts a guardhouse and a squadron of Stoßwehr soldiers. There is also a service road near the back of the property whose entrance has no guardhouse but is guarded by two to four soldiers at all times.

Behind the house itself is a smaller blockhouse with bunks for the soldiers, an armory, and a communications relay, guarded by an additional two squadrons of soldiers. One of these squads guards the bunkhouse while the other is stationed about the house itself at all times.

In total there is a medium-sized platoon stationed on the property, commanded by a Captain. All of these men were hand-selected by Nemetz for loyalty, of course. Overall, a decent enough defense to deter any common criminals, but a professional team shouldn't have much trouble. Hence the comms relay to alert Colditz's garrison should any trouble arise.

On to Nemetz's family itself.

His wife, Katherine, a beautiful and intelligent but subdued woman, spends most of her time traveling to various Party functions and being seen as the Reichsleiter's wife, but despite this, rarely spends much time with her husband. Nemetz himself comes home about once or twice a week to eat meals with his family, and spends far fewer nights there.

They have three children. Maximilian, the oldest, recently came of age and was sent to officer school. His daughter, Astrid (16) is pretty and intelligent liker her mother and devoted to her father, and is an active member of the Jugendbund (Party youth organization). The youngest, Wolfgang (12) can think of nothing except joining the Stoßwehr and killing Reds, and is thus equally devoted to his father, whom he resembles, and the Jugendbund.

The family regularly meets for dinner but is rarely together except during the evening due to their many obligations. Each member is protected at all times by one personal bodyguard, selected based on their gender (i.e., the females have female bodyguards). These bodyguards are unique from the previously mentioned garrison.

Looks like Akordania covered your question really well. I can only emphasize what he said about mentioning the human aspects of the war and its effects on the average soldier, which is the main thing I want to write about with this RP. Obviously don't go overboard and cripple your characters with constant PTSD-induced flashbacks; but the gradual destruction of his moral code, his ideological convictions, and his will to fight through the horrors he sees and commits can be a splendid addition to the story.

Also glad that we're helping each other out. Keep it up guys, and never be afraid to ask questions of any kind here! I'll do my best to answer them as well everyone else.
