their could be multiple factor in that weight in the decision, (not wanting to have to many trading cards season too fast may be one of them.
numbers of puppets.

Or maybe they think the entire card thing has been a dreadful mistake. Season 2 dies a long and cruel death with no end. Eventually fading into oblivion. Just sayin'.

Why would they need to wait for the pandemic to end? I have to imagine the programmers are all working from home by this point.

Season 3 will never come, it’s worthless to wait. Our only option is to get complete s2 legendary collections.

April 7th: flags and pretitles are finalized (they'll be dynamic during the first week just like they were for S1)
