If you had a high-value card, then someone else most likely sold the card for dirt cheap, lowering its value.

Probably one particular, high-valued card was subject to a rapid devaluation.

Say you had a card worth about 500, and its junk value is 0.05.
Then a couple of card-dealers start bidding for this card at value 10.00. Some other dealers accept these bids, and now several copies of that one particular card are all sold way below the market value.

After sales, market values are recalculated. Sometimes the result of such recalculations is ZERO, sometimes it means that the average sales price (= market value) plummets.

In all likeliness, one of your cards has seen its market value plummet by 400 points.

The Finntopian Empire owns Noahs Second Country S2, which used to have a value of 500-ish(?) when possession was largely monopolised by Noah but was indeed recently sold by a lot of somebody elses for double-digit values.

Sociology says: it's because we have no body language to contextualise our words.

If someone makes a joke In Real Life, even when it is a bad joke, you aren't likely to be very offended. Because by the body language, you can see that he didn't really mean it, and you can shrug it off, and you won't think of him as an asshole.

If someone asks you for advice, you will likely not be an asshole to him, because you can see by the body language that he really needs your help. You won't make a bad joke, and even if you do, he'll know that you didn't really mean it and still appreciate the way that you are going to help him, and so forth.

Enter two computer screens. Now all you see is text.
- Hey, this looks like a great set-up for one of my jokes. (Except that without body language, it will likely land badly.)
- Hey, this looks vaguely insulting, and because I don't see any mitigating body language, I will be offended!
- Is this person asking for help? Well, I'm having a bad day and this faceless noob is just the pretext I need to work out my frustrations.

---------------------

Edit: some people are really good at handling the absence of body language, always assuming the best about the intentions of the other person. Whenever the text riles them at first sight, they think of ways to ease up.

Sadly, some people just go with their first impressions, if not always then sometimes. If a lot of people on Nation States seem assholes to you, why not challenge yourself to think better of them? (If just a few people on Nation States seem assholes to you, you're doing fine. The problem is theirs, not yours.)

The value of NSC fell drastically due to oversupply and people selling at low prices, lowering the MV from 500+ to only 66.

Was worth 722.

Of course, NSC S2 is the most abundant card in the game so once I abandoned my monopoly it was bound to deflate.
