The Olympics is about using bank wisely - there are plenty of JV asks on common ripple cards, I doubt you'll see anyone buying above .02 or .03.

I'd also appreciate if a certain someone would stop calling us cheaters on the forums, discord, and RMB, thanks. And it's especially rude to criticize the games in a nonconstructive manner considering they are all run and funded by 9003 for the community.

Pending the final results, I believe I got second in Epic and UR, and I'm glad for that.

First in the UR category was All Wild Things, so of course the little guy can win sometimes.

well we can,t really say you have played with the rest of the player on equal footing. some players do not have 100 cte value cards, they can put on auction from their main, solely to get a chance to pull with a puppet. and not many players abuse the TACLS like you do. i could have tried to make snoop or MC pull event, but I always felt this would be unfair to those who do not have theses cards, and therefor, are unable to create one,

all wilds things won his category, I got nothing to say, he pull and sold 5 legend, congrats, i pulled only 1. but i directly gave up after Noah's pull event, I know when i cannot win no matter what I do .

I gave up when Gio was overbidding on the hundreds of commons with rippled flags i had just spent hours to dig up and bid on.

That came after i halted my game when Noah and Gio made loads of bank with a private pull-event, hold by Noah's own main nation.

Congrats on All Wild Things for your win in the UR category!

don't say this. Noah does not want to hear people talk about what he did.
he want you to believe it your own fault you did not do any pull events. for your own nations.

Despite a little rough patch in the middle the results are in!

Congratulations to Noah and Gio for crushing 3 of the 4 categories! and best of all they reached the 2k mark from ripples so we will have TRIPLE prizes!!!!!

As a side note commons was a relatively low number at only 3,795.
Epics rounded off at a solid 196
Ultra rares at 850!!
and a crazy 2149 ripples!

The prizes have been gifted out!
Well done!

I'm grateful to Noah for redistributing his prizes, and glad I managed to get second.

Awaiting next time, I've already found a likely partner and come up with the name for the puppet series.

Thank you. You'd been playing a great game. I'm sorry you felt the need to stop.

Well done! That was good going, especially with your late start.

I'd like to give a shout out to Awesomeland12345, who kindly stopped sniping my JV trades when asked :)

And a huge shout out to Racoda, whose dispatch was very informative. I looked at that a lot!

Although that card pull strategy wasn't against the rules, I think it could be good to adjust the rules for next time. The principles of the rules are good. The no gifting in, and no trading with your non-olympic nations, means you aren't using your outside nations to influence the event. The card-pull strategy doesn't feel like it fits with those principles.

I had worried about Noah & Gio starting to collect URs too. On the last day, they were ahead on Epics, and had overtaken on Commons. They still had enough bank to out-do me on URs. If they had started that, my plan was to use non-olympic puppets to out-bid them (if I couldn't get the cards myself, I could at least prevent someone else getting them). But again, that feels like a strategy that doesn't fit with Olympian principles.

Maybe having an over-arching principle of "no undue outside influence", plus a handful of rules would be a good approach. The rules can never catch everything, but the principle would help prevent strategies like the one I schemed up.

Thanks for organising this. It was fun, though exhausting! I don't think I've ever expended so much energy while sitting still in front of a screen.

I concur with this sentiment. I'm curious to see how people feel about running pull events from Olympic puppets - a high risk, high reward maneuver, though definitely doable.

Additionally, this was the second Olympics in a row where a high value legendary was pulled early on, plunging a lucky participant into a significant lead (which was no easy feat to overcome)

If the Olympics are to be even somewhat skill/effort based then I think there should be a cap on selling any cards with a bid above "x". X being as high as 10 or as low as 5.

The way I see it, the best way to create a fair playing field to reward skill in cards by removing a lot of the luck elements and forcing contestants onto even ground, where separation is created through good trading rather than a lucky pull, whether that is flipping cards or sniping the market.

Nicely done to All Wild Things, and also to Riemstagrad, both of whom employed some good strategies throughout the games.
