The Collection Collection v2

Postby Giovanniland » Tue Apr 28, 2020 5:50 pm

Welcome to The Collection Collection v2!

The Collection Collection v2 is the premier list of collections in the entire Trading Cards minigame, reuniting diverse collections by hundreds of nations sorted into categories and subcategories. This thread is the successor of the original Collection Collection created by Ponderosa, who has full credit for the idea and whose permission I also acquired for making this thread.

I aim to host solely general-interest collections, therefore categories such as friends/favorites, self-collections, regional collections, and cards for sale will not be included. Try to present one collection for cards of all seasons related to your theme, but in certain cases different seasonal collections are allowed.

New posts about collections to be submitted for review are encouraged, as are any commentary and discussion posts! Any collection should have a theme unique enough to warrant inclusion and be the largest in its field. Furthermore, it should also a significantly large size, although the bar is subjective and related to how many cards overall exist for the theme rather than a fixed number.

Collections whose owners cease to exist may either be moved to The Boneyard if no replacement has been found, or be replaced by another one by a living nation. Ex-nation collections can be perused so long as the nation name isn't on the link, otherwise an error message will be displayed. The game adds it whenever one switch pages, so that should be removed from the URL in order to see it fully.

Rarity Collections

Season 1
Every Legendary Card of Season 1 by Koem Kab
Getting all of the legendary cards from Season 1 requires a boatload of cash, an eagle eye on your bids, and a fleet of farm puppets to finance the collection. Other collectors that have also completed it are Ballotonia, Elegarth, Fauzjhia, Kwaj, Luna Amore, Mikeswill, Noahs Second Country, Racoda, Refuge Isle, Riemstagrad, Seanat, Siwale, The Northern Light, The Tampa Bay Rays, The Unified Missourtama States, The United Peoples of Centrism, Valoptia, and Witchcraft and Sorcery.
Wop's Epic Collection by Wopruthien
A collection of all Season 1 Epic cards, and the first non-legendary rarity collection to be completed. This is an epic feat also achieved by Riemstagrad.
Pretty in Purple: Every Ultra-Rare by Refuge Isle
The largest display of purple-bordered Season 1 cards is pretty close to the amount needed for a complete set!
House of Blues by Mara Jade-Skywalker (puppet of Dr Hooves)
This collection holds nearly all Season 1 Rare cards, aside from a few sparsely owned cards that are mostly ex-nations.
Season 1 Uncommons by CartAgRiem 021 (puppet of Riemstagrad)
Brought to you by the same collector of Season 2 uncommons, here is a rising collection with a quarter of all uncommons from the first season.

Season 2
Complete Season 2 Legendary Collection That I Totally Didn't Accidentally Break by Feu de Glace
There are less legendary cards here compared to Season 1, but it's still an extremely hard challenge to gather them all! Other collectors that have also completed it are Aerilia, Alistia, Ballotonia, Chimes, Dr Hooves, Economichunger, Elegarth, Fauzjhia, Fhaengshia, Grea Kriopia, HumanSanity, Ioavollr, Koem Kab, Kwaj, Laudesia, Mediobogdum, Mikeswill, Minskiev, New Kowloon Bay, Noahs Second Country, Numero Capitan, Osheiga, Panagouge, Philville2, Pytong, Racoda, Radicalania, Refuge Isle, Riemstagrad, ROM, Seanat, The Atlae Isles, The Northern Light, The Unified Missourtama States, The United Peoples of Centrism, Thorn1000, Triseria, Valoptia, Waterfall State and Witchcraft and Sorcery.

Power to the Purple: Every UR II by An Actual Hurricane (puppet of Refuge Isle)
The sequel to the previous season's Pretty in Purple is completed by the same collector! It's an ultra-rare sight to see such a big collection.

Every Season 2 Rare card, which was the largest complete collection for most of the second season.
Season 2 Uncommons by CartAgRiem 021 (puppet of Riemstagrad)
Here is an almost-complete collection of uncommon cards from the second season, totalling nearly forty thousand cards!
Every S2 Common Card by 9003
9003 is the nation with the most cards in the world, most being of common rarity! Due to deck capacity constraints the final cards are being pursued on 9006.

Season 3
Musée de l'Oeuvre: A Curiously Complete Collection of Season 3 Legendaries by Feu de Glace
Despite beating both previous seasons with a total of 223 legendary cards this time around, the first Season 3 Legendary collection was completed in less than five days due to excellent farming and careful auction-watching! This feat has also been achieved by Aerilia, East Chimore, Fauzjhia, Koem Kab, Kwaj, Mikeswill, National Park Service, Noahs Second Country, Numero Capitan, Osheiga, Seanat, Thorn1000, Valoptia, and Witchcraft and Sorcery!
EPICS S3 by New Makasta
New Makasta is the leading collector of Season 3 Epics with a complete collection, a feat also achieved by Klaus Devestatorie, Laudesia, Mediobogdum, Riemstagrad, and The United Peoples of Centrism!
The Lavenderest Collection by Ostrovskiy
Lavender is one of the best colors, and this lavender collection of Season 3 Ultra-Rares has collected all cards of its kind! This collection has also been completed by Radicalania.
I'm Blue S3 by New Zander
A rising and indeed very blue collection about the rare cards of Season 3.
It ain't easy being green by Dune Cat (puppet of Dr Hooves)
This complete Season 3 collection seeks to honor the best rarity there will ever be, the wonderfully green-colored uncommons! It is the largest complete collection of the entire game.

Special Mentions
S3 Legs by Murder Murder Gun Shooters (puppet of Ioavollr)
Do you want legendaries but don't have the budget? Then this collection of Season 3 Legs would certainly be a fit for you, a pun on the common abbreviation for legendaries.
Wrong Season by Guaylandia (puppet of The Cosmic Mainframe)
Legendary cards are special for their rarity, but some don't have that prestige in every season. Here is a complete collection of non-legendary cards that had achieved that status in other seasons.

Volume Collections (1000+ cards)

5 Million Population by Zerphen
These nations all had five million population at the time of a season's release, the lowest it can get and thus the last nations to appear in the snapshot! So far Seasons 1 and 3 are both complete.
All Fear My Wreath! by Giovanniland
Here are many wreath flags, many being olive branches. Wreaths are present in popular flag designing websites and programs, which explains the enormous amount of cards being displayed here.
All is Default & Extension by BuccaRuu
A gargantuan collection featuring tens of thousands of default flags! The Australian Aboriginal flag is by far the most common in the game, so much that due to deck capacity constraints the collection is split across two nations totalling over fifty thousand cards.
All The Dragons There Ever Were by The Last Dragon Chronicles (puppet of Panagouge)
Here there be dragons! A collection of dragon cards of various types is available here.

A throwback to the era of monochrome images! The cards combine nicely with the common cards' gray border.
Ceased to Exist Cards by Charon Azrael (puppet of Racoda)
Here are cards from nations that are or were at one point in the boneyard. Note the difference between these and ex-nations: a nation whose card is not an ex-nation card may have ceased to exist, and it will not be reflected on the card, while an ex-nation card may have its respective nation refounded after the snapshot. (This collection is no longer maintained.)

This collection displays cards that mention the NS Trading Cards game itself in some way! A nice example of self-reference within cards.
Commended by Ballotonia
Here you can find cards of nations that have been commended by the World Assembly! Several cards-related commendations have been written since the start of Season 2.
Condemned by Ballotonia
Much smaller this time, this collection contains notorious nations that have done bad enough deeds to achieve a condemnation.
First Finders: Legendary by New Sunville
A very interesting concept for a collection, nations that have left their mark in history for being the first to find a given legendary card.
First Hundred by Samudera
In this impressive display you can see every card with an ID from 1 to 100, including many really expensive cards! Unfortunately, some of the nations with an ID eligible for this collection have ceased to exist, therefore it has less than a hundred cards.

Undefault by Riemstagrad
The Australian Aboriginal flag is also the default flag for newly-created nations, but there's none of these flags here! Instead, this collection shows many creative user-created flags that are inspired on the default version.

Thanks for doing this Gio, this is awesome! I was going to mention my gif collection, but I see it's already up there! I'll let you know when I get both seasons in one collection; I'm only one card away now!

I particularly enjoy Ancot's collection of single-color flags, as well as The Soylent Green Party's "You Suck at Cooking" collection.

A good friend of mine made these collections, which admittedly violate one of the criteria for this list, but I think they're impressive enough to warrant inclusion.

You're welcome! I wish to keep this updated, and I'm glad people like it.

From what I see, you only have a Lazarus collection in your deck, and the OP says no regional collections.

Yes, I replaced some collections because the previous one of that theme wasn't the largest or most complete anymore, and GIFs was one of them. I'll update it when you complete both seasons.
Also, I wasn't expecting you'd link my collections, lol :) I didn't include any of them because 1. no regional collections rule, and 2. it would be biased to include mine but not any other. Of course the size factor highlights them (especially the season 2 version), but it's still a tough decision on whether to add or not, and for now, I'm not adding them unless a lot of people agree that it should be there.

Hi! This is really cool, thanks for reviving it!

Anyway, I’ve actually had my own collection of feline friends going on for a while now: Cats! :3

I can’t compete with Feline Masters, and I’m happy to see Alanis Star in on the game too, but just wanted to say I existed!

Thanks and have a nice day!

I think that such an expansive collection could be an exception to the rules here.

I concur - collections of small regions (like mine, lol) aren't worth including, but a collection like yours that's a thousand cards strong, or TNL's version for The North Pacific, has grounds for inclusion.

They are interesting indeed! However, I asked them if it'd be possible to gather all cards in one collection. Like I said in the OP, if anyone can do that instead of having S1 and S2 collections, it would be better.

I don't know how you'd classify it, but the collections tickles me and could probably be included somewhere. It's a nice curiosity.

^The GCR founders are good.

I finally finished my complete (s1+s2) gif collection! I'm so stoked!

Big shot actually did it a few hours before me but I don't think he's gotten around to putting them in a single collection

I have only managed to complete the S2 gif collections of Pg, D, and ABC123 cards... too late for me to make an attempt to complete S1.

Great that this thread had been taken up again... congrats to Gio are very much in order

First of all, I´d like to state, that I´m very glad (and thankful), that the "collection thread" has been continued (especially since my own collection is noticed here  ).
But I couldn´t help, but find some of the noticed collections pretty outdated, as they seem not to have been maintained by their owners for months, thus stagnating; this might be because of the owners running out of space, lost further interest in specific collections, or maybe even decided to stay with "season ones" only. Also some are complete (without any sign for it) or close to this.
Therefore I propose, that these collections should be evaluated by someone (or anyone who likes to announce his own collection) and maybe updated/replaced by bigger/newer ones of the same theme or marked (as some already are) as continued or completed.
I also would like to encourage "theme or other specific collecting players" (and I do know for sure, that there is a whole bunch of them) to announce there collections here (and not to be shy about and wait, if someone else does so), regardless if originally was meant otherwise - because I guess, that otherwise we would miss many interesting and genuine collections (if not someone occasionally stumbles across and find them "showworthy").
And then, I also would like if some of those collectors would renew their postings in the forum and therefore participate more in the open market instead of silently collecting (how should anyone know ?), or relate on private farming or occasional gifts.

Hello! I'm pretty sure I reviewed every collection before posting the thread to update progress. I also removed some that didn't exist anymore, and replaced some who weren't the biggest/most complete in their category anymore. However, if you spot a mistake I left out, feel free to comment here.
I was busy these last days, but I'll double-check soon to see if I missed anything and add the most recent submissions such as yours.
New collections are added by submissions on this thread, but also if I happen to stumble across a collection theme that isn't included yet. If I see a collection that has its theme here already but is bigger than the current one, I'll replace too. I think all of those should stay, even if they're not being updated or are Season 1-only, as long as they're the biggest of that theme. I figure some of these owners don't use the forums a lot, but nevertheless their efforts should be recognized, if they build an unique collection.

Weekly Update!

If you didn't know yet, I'm planning to do a weekly check on all collections, to check if any ceased to exist, and such. Note that I have real life duties so it's not guaranteed, but I'll try to update it as often as possible.
In this update, I revamped the NationStates-themed collection category, adding different seasons to some collections. I also added a few collections that I either randomly found, or were submitted here (the ones below). Note, I'm looking for geographical, real world collections to include, since that category doesn't have that many entries. I'll be searching, but if you know of any large one, feel free to post!

and from the same person a really pretty one https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/ ... card_vault

Added the second one! The first one was too small and ceased to exist, sadly.

I was thinking on whether to include this or not, but I guess it's interesting enough to get a place in the NS-themed collections.

GCR Founders is a novelty, but more substantial collection should be my puppet, Pursuit of Happiness' collection of emotions https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/ ... _happiness

Interesting collection! Not very big but still unique, so I added it.
