How do I search for cards with a certain criteria (like Basque flags) that I own that aren't part of my Basque flag collection?

You can use the code below without quotation marks. The number there is the ID of your Basque collection, by the way:
"+flag:basque
+deck:voxija
-collection:13766"

Hope that helped!

Edit: whoops, I missed the part "that I own." Should be fixed with the new query code now.

Based off of the other two and the spacing,
its about the right time.

Could you please move the conversation about the s3 start date to a different thread? It's not really relevant to card queries.

Would it be possible to list cards in alphabetical order?

I can add an option to sort alphabetically by name, rather than ID.

Most likely it'll be an option that you'll need to provide at the start, along with the query options, as resorting an already-generated list requires adding Javascript---not a huge deal, but that's something I'm reserving for a bigger update.

There have been a few updates:

1) You can use a new search option, PRETITLE.

2) You can get the results in three new formats: list, CSV, JSON. The old format remains available as well. You can specify the desired format from the web page. The "list" option should be particularly friendly to those that want to import the results in spreadsheets of different kinds.

3) You can make direct GET requests to the daemon serving the card queries page using, e.g., from a script you are using to manage your collections. Here is an example GET request using cURL:
Code: Select all
curl -G 'https://azure.nsr3n.info/card_queries/get_daemon_advanced.sh' -d 'format=json&season=2' --data-urlencode 'query=region:the_north_pacific'

This was already possible before, but it was somewhat cumbersome, given the HTML output format. With the new formats, using the card queries in scripts should be a lot easier, e.g., you can download the results directly in JSON output. Note: You need to use url-encoding for the "query" field of the GET request, because of the special characters it contains.

I can't believe there aren't many others thanking you for the updates. The new formatting options make what I was doing much easier. Thanks TNL!

It is not too difficult to make a link open in a new tab, that would increase functionality.

How do you get a card with your own name on it?

You need to wait until the next season (Season 3) comes and have your nation alive then. Nobody knows the exact release date.

Furthermore, this is not the right thread to ask general card-related questions: if you had read the OP you'd know it's about a special tool to find specific cards. Though there is a thread for season 3 speculations and other comments.

The past few days I've tried running a few queries and it just runs forever when I submit. Anyone else experiencing this or just me?

Although my nation was around for the first 2 seasons, I wasn't active on NS at the time. Those of you who were around - were you given enough time in advance of the start of a season? Was a season's date announced in advance? For season 3, will we have enough time in advance to change up our flags for our cards?

Season 1 was not announced either when it started in April 2018 or when it was reintroduced (and flags, badges, etc locked forever in the card) in December 2018, catching many by surprise. However, this wasn't the case for season 2: there was a five days period in which one could change certain aspects of the card and prepare for the new season, and only after the period ended did season 2 cards start appearing in packs.

Keep in mind that this thread isn't about general card questions, though - it is about a specific tool one can use to browse the card database and search for cards meeting the search (all cards of a rarity, or region), which is called the Card Queries. Though perhaps one could say that the name could be a bit confusing for newcomers indeed.

Yeah, I couldn't figure out where to post this. I tried asking on TET, but only got a baa-aah from Blaat. Creating a new thread for this seemed silly. Thanks for answering this confused bimbo's question anyway! :p
