[Question] Card search functionality

I was wondering if it's possible to search for cards by their nation name, particularly those of ex-nations.

Anyone know of a way to do so?

Abuse the API.

https://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/ap ... pen&q=dbid gives back my database identifier. Then fill in the number on https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/card=<number>/season=1

In my case you'd get https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/card=84/season=1

This, unfortunately does not work with ex-nations. https://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/ap ... iii&q=dbid gives back a 404 page

If it was, you could check the boneyard for when the nation died, then get a historical daily dump of the day before, then get the dbid, then fill it in as the card number

Alas, there is no such way. But there might be people around who have scanned all of NS at times for dbids and saved them

You can find a current nations card by going to their nation page (from world search if you want) then click on their card icon to view their deck and a link to that nations card should be in the top right.

Personally I would like cards to be alphabetical when adding them to collections

I'd imagine it wouldn't be that hard to implement since I know ex-nation cards are out there, and there are market pages for said cards. Just make a search function that pulls up a list of cards and allows you to click on them to check their market info.

Indeed, I have the same problem.

If the card IDs are mapped to the nation name somewhere it should be possible to implement.

I'd love it if there was an option to search for cards by name as well. I've been looking for cards with pony flags and I'm betting there's some cards of recently CTE'd pony nations that I can't find by searching for their nations since that only brings up the nations that still exist.

But it only works if you know the exact name of the nation.
So not much a 'search'

You can do it with existing nations but sadly not with ex-nations.

Both of these would work.

The method Pangurstan linked is on-site, while the one 9003 linked is an off-site tool made by a trusted code junkie.
