So far most of the ideas were about collecting the cards, but none suggested losing the cards (as opposed to trading). There might be some form of lottery or gambling mini-game where users could bet their cards; if they win they get additional currency for buying more cards, or, in case of lose, their betting cards will be taken away.

For example, to win 0.25 player would need to bet at least one Common card; to win 1.00 to bet at least one Rare card, to win 15.00 to bet at least 2 Epic, 4 Ultra Rare cards. etc.

Interesting concept, but what would players actually bet on? How would one win/lose? What are the chances of that? Etc.

what would players actually bet on?

Depends on the mini-game type. It can be gambling type like roulette, so betting would be on red/black; it can be puzzle type mini-game like match/find the same card in the 16x16 field within a limited time, so betting would be on the number of found matches.

There are many betting-type mini-games on the internet, just a matter of finding most interesting one.

How would one win/lose?

Again, pending on the mini-game type. Referring back to gambling, it can be actually connected to the real sports events, let's say, there is a football game between Manchester United and Barcelona, players can bet their cards for 1:0 win or any other result. This clarifies what is win/lose. The betting mechanism would be same as mentioned above, so: reward selection 0.20 for 1 common card with positive result 1:0, any other result means losing the card.

What are the chances of that?

To be sincere, I don't know how gambling calculations are made, but I believe it's not that difficult to engineer it.

Read above; we've been told that the volunteer admins have real lives, too. They have families to feed and shelter, and the card game is more of a small hobby on a free site. They need spare time to code it.
Everyone's just gotta be patient.

I thought we were their family now... :)

How do we know that "NationCards is returning soon" isn't the real April Fool's prank that Max and company played on us this year, more frankly?

Initially, same thought came to my mind. However, if a prank, there wouldn't be an update on April 19.

It would be disappointing.

At this point, this thread might as well be locked. All it is now is people complaining about something despite the clear and obvious reasons for the game not being updated.

Not many people have been coming up with new ideas either, only a couple in a page's worth of posts.

Stop complaining, people. To quote the old addage, "we'll get there when we get there." Bitching and moaning about how the game hasn't been updated yet will not make it come any faster. In fact, all it will do is annoy the people who actually do have to work to make it happen.

Check news section on the main page concerning 1001 issues. At very bottom you have PS.

All it says is "P.S. Cards are still coming." Not much of an indicator of when though.

We should use the challenges but have an option to bet cards. If the other nation accepts you will gamble the same amount of cards for the same value.

I don't know, I fear that it might be cancelled (probably not).

It can't be in Development Hell unless someone is actually developing it. The only problem with the code is the absence of hands on keyboards.

Frisbeeteria wrote:As has been previously stated numerous times, it all depends on our volunteer admins finding time to code it. Right now, they're busy with their real jobs, and trying to keep their families fed and sheltered. Updating this free web game comes a distant second.

This is why we need more coders, because it'll take until 2068 (things will have changed by then) at this pace.

Hey guys, I would prefer that this section does not have Forum 7-style auto-pruning enabled, because if there is serious interest in documenting the history of this feature and notable trades et al, then this section will likely be a crucial resource for citing references on NSindex or any similar project.

Nobody has even hinted at F7-style pruning. Don't get yourself in a lather over non-existent events.

... 'notable trades', 'crucial resource', a likely story.

Maybe I interpreted Anexora’s suggestion under the section “Global Marketplace” in the OP to imply that this section would function like Forum 7 (i.e. Forum posts do not count towards post total). My bad.
