Hello, everybody of the Vault 41 forum and all people who participate in N-day.
I want to talk about this N-day in this forum post. Many things went wrong with this, and it is probably the worst N-day in Nationstates history. From puppetting (I know I was guilty) to big factions ruining everybody's fun, N-day is ruined.
First of all, I would like to talk about excessive puppetting, but I recognize that I was guilty of this too. I used 22 puppets to ramp up my production, and I managed to deflect off 50 nukes at a time. An alliance responsible for this was Oppressor MK2 griefers, who only targeted me and my puppets to bump their score up to the thousands. No one bothered to touch them until Crabs and Potato threw all their nukes at them when they gained third place by nuking my nations. All they had were thousands of puppets whom Wapistan used to mercilessly beat me up to the point where I just gave up. Even McNukalds, who mainly targeted me couldn't land a single hit on any of my nations, because the puppeteers of Crab, Potato, Wapistan and D.G.E.S took up the spot.. I've already said that I had puppets but I had a measly 22 compared to the nearly 150 nations targeting me. I'm human. I have all my 670 alternate accounts but without any way to control them. I tried my best, and many people were still complaining that I gained an unfair advantage. I don't think it should be outlawed, but I think a limit is required.
Secondly, I would like to talk about the alliances who pretty much targeted me for the entire game. I know this only applies to me, but it was such a big deal that nearly every faction tried to take me down. I made a pony-themed faction named Friendship that was mainly a pacifist alliance, but when I posted one single message on the "Who are you targeting for N-day" thread, I wrote McNukalds. I thought I would have had a good game with them until Wapistan and D.G.E.S (Who I said I would target as a joke) decided to wreak havoc on me with their puppets. I thought Wapistan would join McNukalds but instead owned thousands of puppets. I can't help but think that D.G.E.S and Wapistan were working together because I instantly saw around 100 nukes come to my puppets. McNukalds didn't even touch me at all since all the nukes and strikes came from them. The situation only applies to me as far as I know but is a good reason why N-day was horrible.
Thirdly, I found that there was no winner of this N-day. For nearly the entire N-day, there were only two factions that even survived, much less lived. Now there is the problem of lack of diversity. Usually, most big regions such as Feeder Pacifics, TRR, Laz, Os, Bal, Trr, XKI, Euro and others have their factions. This time, the more influential regions had more players than they had in previous years since they banded together. The Potato alliance, for instance, had nearly 6 regions take part in it, and the two largest factions that ever existed, Crab and HOTA merged to gain twice the players of the Potato alliance. Even large regions such as Lazarus and the South Pacific's factions were less than 1/10th of their power, and yet they had a mutual defence pact for a long time, crushing anybody who dares to even exist. It wasn't fun for the crushed factions, and it wasn't fun for the big factions who literally could sit back and watch their teammates defend them.
In summary, N-day was horrible. It was a stupid scheme led by the old big farts of the regional offices of Crab HOTA and Potato to lead regional pride and ruined the idea of even competing with them. N-day 2021 was my first, and Nationstates' worst. Everybody says "Welcome to N-day" but we could do a lot better than this. A LOT better than this.
