People puppet spammed during the Nuclear war so they could all build up nukes and then fire at one region when needed, a cheesy strategic if you ask me, but not a technical error or anything.

Alright, thanks. Just seems... Exceedingly stupid, is all. :(

Cheesy? Perhaps. Undeniably effective? The scoreboards would seem to support that conclusion.

That said, I'm afraid I'm guilty as charged. I dug up all of the old puppets I could think of, and then some. Kinda helps when you've been targetted by not one, but three different GCRs, plus a stready stream of nukes from half the site over the course of the game :p

I also used that to my advantage!

Ah. So that's how I got nuke spammed to death while I was sleeping. :meh:

Nations that are heavily involved in Gameplay usually have plenty of puppets, which puts forum-dwellers at a disadvantage.

So I maintain a small arsenal of my own just in case I need them.

Someone in my faction said he had around 350 puppets that he let CTE a long time ago.
He added less than 100 which I assume was the ones with passwords he remembered.

I myself only used two nations:
This one and my WA puppet.

If only there were clearly delineated rules for the event that mentioned that using multiple nations wasn't allowed.

I popped in 25 puppets to make one last major strike for DEAT FROM ABOVE... but I got tired and fell asleep instead. If people are able to manage that many puppets during an event like this, kudos to them.

I'm still happy with my decision. :p

NS++ puppet lists were incredibly handy :P

Actually, it doesn't put "forum-dwellers" at a disadvantage. The smallest of the RP sub-forums was able to finish 3rd (with 0 radiation!) by joining forces and by using the puppets we already had. We would have done even better if I'd actually had enough time yesterday to use my puppets.

We're just much more creative at naming our puppets than raiders are, so nobody noticed. :p

I am guilty of using puppets. Makes it more fun to be honest instead of a one and done deal.

I'm finding all the puppet hate on the forum off putting honestly, and I am not even a heavy puppet user. I just have a handful of nations of play rather than these huge mountains of alts I see others with, and I don't see them as having some hugely unfair advantage over me. More nations is more nations no matter who's behind them. If it's too easy to be overwhelmed "by puppets" then its simply too easy to be overwhelmed period.

As far as I'm aware, all of the succesful factions used a lot of puppets. It's hardly cheating when everyone does it.

I swear, the ones I usually use are at least slightly more creative

...Real talk, a lot of raiders have a set of puppets that're named after stuff they like- I used to have my tank-themed puppets (Mind you, these were a bit prettier, flag-wise and everything, but I kinda stopped using them, and they CTE'ed, and I haven't used them enough since to take the effort to get the flags up again >.>), Souls has a stranglehold on RWBY characters, though that's less for r/d purposes and more for collection's sake- generally, there's a theme of some sort, but there's also some cases of just eclectic collections of stuff. I personally have everything from anime characters to shitty puns. That said, in my case, at least, the generic name + number scheme'd puppets were generally used when I needed a large number of them for something, be it searching for a jump point by creating a bunch of regions and hoping one of them falls late within update, or just quickly needing some puppets to use for a tag raid, and finding it less of a hassle to create new ones than to move everything back to base and reapply for WA on everything. I happen to be somewhere on the extreme end of the lazy pool, hence the multiple variations of Derpup and the Panzer Brigades (In fact, there's half a list of the latter, and another variation with 40-50 puppets of the former, that I didn't end up bringing in for whatever reason)

tl;dr Not all raider puppets are quite as creatively bankrupt, but the ones that are definitely caught peoples' eyes.

Generic named pups are much easier to switch through while updating, which most of the pups you faced were used for.

Did the same encouraged others to do so. I think I can say i'm better then the fellows in OP's image, since my puppets are at least uniquely themed(mostly)

Yes, I found that it was quite enough managing eight. I noticed a lot of puppetmasters were having trouble keeping up with them. Several times I got targeted only for it to detarget and hour later because, presumably, someone forgot about it.

However, I do hear that some people were using bots. If that's true, well, fuck those guys!

Aye, the more puppets, the harder it was to coordinate everything. I had about 130 across the course of the event, although a fair number got wiped out or were rendered so damaged as to be mostly unusable. That said, what helped the most for me was using NS++ and sorting my puppets into discrete lists, based on their specialty. That way, each nation in a 'block' of puppets would have a similar amount of production/nukes at any given time, which made it easier to juggle everything.

Granted, I certainly wasn't 100% efficient, given that I capped out at 50 production multiple times, wasting potential, but it worked.
