Calvin and the Colonel came in running soon after.

" What's wrong now ? " asked the Colonel as he closed the door.

[Free Tristania]

"God blimey ! Contact your boys... there is ambush waiting for them." the MP turned around. Cole immediately took the file, read it and cursed.
"Who have forgotten this stuff ?"

"Maybe Lance-Corporal van Dussen had forgotten it, sir. He was very busy earlier today..."

[Globexanter]

" All right. " said the Colonel who got on the radio immidiatly.

" Colonel, back to base now. Evasive actions. " was all he said, he received a small confirmation from the G.66 men.

Cole got on the radio "Patrol 4. Change your route and avoid Langeweg area. There is an ambush for you."

[Globexanter]

" How do you know there was going to be an ambush then ? " asked Calvin.

[Free Tristania]

Cole pointed at the document. "They are plans, pretty detailed too. They were laying an ambush in two rows there as you can see here.."
He points at a small chart of the area. "With an additional sniper here on the rooftop." He pointed at a church. "They probably wanted to make headlines.."

" Why didn't you order something to break it up like mortar fire ? "

[Free Tristania]

"Because the good man here.." he pointed at the MP. "Just brought it in. And I have another plan.."
The General had a grin on his face. "When they disperse again.. there will be an ambush waiting for them here..." He pointed at Kercklaan. "You see those two areas where there is a park ? That's where their intended victims will be waiting for them."

He got on a radio "General HQ to Patrol 4. What is your position ? Over."

"Patrol 4 to General HQ. We are at D4. We are awaiting orders ? Over."

"Move to the park and prepare yourselves for an incoming group later on. Over."

"Copy that, sir. We are on our way. Over and out."

" But what if, that area there in the park is itself is trapped ? " asked the Colonel.

[Free Tristania]

"I have no idea but it would peculiar if it would be as that area is not their route at all. Patrol 4 would have swung right at the church. Now they are coming in from the back, trapping the enemy forces when they withdraw from their position."

[Globexanter]

" Still, there is always a chance... "

[Free Tristania]

"Let's hope for some good luck for once." Cole said.

At the same moment a group of Fuseliers was taking up their positions in the park. Suddenly on their right they found a group of Para's taking up positions in an alleyway. "The Para's signalled the Fuseliers with a flashlight to remain quiet and in position.

" So, any more rivalries today ? " asked Calvin.

[Free Tristania]

"I haven't got a clue who send those Para's there. They probably got wind of the radio traffic and decided to assist on their own accord. " Cole put down the horn of the phone and seemed surprised.

[Globexanter]

" I can tell you now, the Globexian Government isn't too pleased nor impressed that there is such rivalries in your army... " said the Colonel.

[Free Tristania]

"Neither is our own." Cole said "This has been going on for generations and it has to stop."

"This is Patrol 5, To General HQ, Over."
"Come in, Patrol 5."
" We have just received the news that the enemy would would have planned a second ambush for any survivors of Patrol 4 so we took up position at D4 alongside Patrol 4. Over."
'Who send you off your route, Over."
"Sergeant Bletchley did, Over. He got wind of an ambush waiting for Patrol 4. So we set out to ambush the ambushers. Looks like Patrol 4 has beat us to it but better two forces then none. Over."

" I'm ready to bet 50 enigma's that is a lie. " said Calvin out loud.

[Free Tristania]

"We have split up our force and we have send them to guard the crossing at D5. And...." There was a silence for a moment and the rattle of machineguns. "Looks like the guys on D5 got themselves an invitation to a dance party. Two geezers appeared from a car and opened fire. Our boys are returning fire as we speak. This may foil the operation...."

Suddenly there was the sound of a sharp whistle in the background and the sound of rattling Steyr Aug's. "Forget about what I just said, sir. The fuzzies are dancing with the Papists and we are going to join the show, over."

[Globexanter]

" Two people in a car ? " asked the Colonel, perplexed.

[Free Tristania]

"A car suddenly drove up to them and opened fire. I'll ask for details."

Cole got on the radio again "Got any details on that car, over ?"
"Yes, sir. It's a red Renault, sir. Bastards in it suddenly opened their windows and opened fire. One of our boys is wounded. Shot through the arm. We got both the geezers. They received a lead overdose, over."

Cole was puzzled "License plate, please ? Over."

The Para shouted something to his buddies and when a reply came he replied "DL-55-LG. Local license plate, over."

[Globexanter]

" Is that... ? " asked the Colonel.

[Free Tristania]

Cole shook his head. Suddenly from the distance there was a sound of a massive explosion.
"That's your boys."

"What the fuck ?!" A Para shouted on the other side of the line "Sounds like a car bomb in the distance, sir. We are going to take a look. Fuzzies took them down, sir. They killed 17 men and..."

A shot in the distance cracked and the radio man collapsed.

[Globexanter]

" I thought I told them to back off. " said the Colonel, obviously un-happy.

[Free Tristania]

"There is a sniper up that roof. Some fuzzies are going in. Over." A Para said.

Another radio came in "Patrol 9 here, sir. We heard the explosion so we sped up. The gas station is a mess, sir. Blown up. They must have turned the valve because nothing in the city gets blown up but we can't get any closer. It's too bloody hot. The compound is a blaze ! Over !"

" Little son of bitches, mind telling your men to avoid firing at two men wearing black uniforms ? " chuckled the Colonel.
