The Fall of Gods (OOC: Character RP)

Good morning/afternoon/evening.

I am Londim. Some of you may know me as the creator of The PIT, a quite successful series of RPs based on paranormal events. Check it out, you might like it. Anyway, I am not here to talk about that. Oh no. I think it is time for another RP series that, I hope, will be just as successful as The PIT. As you have probably guessed, it is called The Fall of Gods.

What is The Fall of Gods?

The Fall of Gods is an RP about superbeings. I'm not going to use the terms superheroes or supervillains as that is too black and white. No, this will deal with beings who, good or not, are hunted by Londim's goverment. Superheroes used to exist as did Super Villains but the amount of collateral damage they caused forced the government to stop the superbeings by any means necessary. They were likened to terrorists. The inspiration comes from Watchmen and The Incredibles (yes, the Pixar movie).

Where is it set?

It will be set in my nation of Londim, however, an alternate Londim so as not to interfere with PIT activities. This Londim is a rather aggressive state and wants to study the superbeings and find the source of their powers to be used in military operations. Of course, this is a top secret operation, and some beings have already been captured. This is known as Operation Hunt.

Are the superbeings organised?

Not at the moment. Each one is focused on survival. There was one attempt in the past to organise the superbeings but many were afraid that it would make them a bigger target and there is no real trust between the superbeings. There have been rumours that some are working with the military to help capture other beings. Your character may be one of those that work with the military.

How will this be structured?

Much in the same way as the PIT, in that RP's would be episodic. However, there would be the overarching story of Operation Hunt. You may create any kind of story as long as some reference to Operation Hunt is made, even if it's just a little tidbit of your plot.

Also, your beings are not immune to capture or being killed. The military is brutal and will do anything to keep the "Super Problem" under control. If your character randomly decides to enter a high security military base then your RP must reflect the inherent dangers of doing so including capture or death.

How Do I Submit a Situation?

Situations are basically missions that you post here to get others to help your character or to show what your character is doing. FoG RPs may just be done by one RPer if they so wish but would still need approval from me.

Name: Max Morton
Age: 32
Power: The power to make his body (partially) enter a ghostly state, allowing physical objects to go through him without harm. Morton is also very skilled in martial arts, sword fighting, knife fighting and the art of stealth.
Background: Max Morton is a human being with superpowers who despises his own kind and thinks of his own superpower as a disease and a sin. Being an extremely religious christian, Max Morton believes that he is chosen by God to use his diaboloc powers to destroy other beings like him. Morton is an agent of a secret order of assassins under the direct control of the pope. Even though the order and the nation of Londim share the same goal the Vatican does not wish to work with Londim for in their eyes Londim is just as much of an enemy as the rogue superheroes for they are trying to find the source of the superheroes' power to use it to their own advantage. It is likely that the order will be making a move against Londim's Operation Hunt.
Current Situation: Even before the ban Morton has been tracking and slaying other superheroes. He was send by the pope to Londim to investigate the rumors about an Operation Hunt. He has been there ever since.

If I am allowed to submit more than one character I would like to submit the following character as well:

Name: Sebastian Karol
Age: 22
Power: The power to make his body emit massive amounts of photons to the point that he can make himself visible to sattelites orbiting the earth. This allows him to temporarily and even permanently blind anyone not wearing extremely high quality sunglasses.
Background: Sebastian Karol is the son of a superhero with a similar superpower who got killed by Londimian forces. Because his parents had seen the ban coming long ago they had hidden Karol's superpower from the rest of the world so that he could live a normal life when he would grow up. Karol is now working in the Londimian air force, piloting fighter jets. He is angry at Londim for killing his parents but he realizes that their reason for killing off superheroes is valid. He is an officer of junior rank.
Current Situation: Karol's activities have not really changed since the ban. He is currently stationed in one of Londim's military bases.

Name: Jean Mumbasa
Age: 41
Power: Illusionist. Can create any illusion he wishes that look completely real. Anything he can think of, he can create that illusion. Jean is also a skilled boxer, has tremendous upper body strength, pretty good lower body strength, trained to use a gun.
Background: Jean lived a fairly luxurious life up until the ban on people like him. During his youth he would perform great magic shows, using his illusions to create people's greatest fears, deceased loved ones, and a variety of other amazing illusions. After making millions with his worldwide famous shows, the ban was set in place and Jean began being hunted down. Jean went into hiding where he began to loose his sanity. With a deteriorating sane state of mind, he began slipping up and narrowly avoided the authorities on several occassions. Now Jean suffers from sociopathy and schizophrenia, all the while staying on the down low from Londim authorities.
Current Situation: Jean has attempted to join with the hunt, however due to his poor psychological state, he was denied and nearly lost his life for exposing himself. Now Jean lives in a slum, performing occassional shows to passers by to make a living.

Name: Snowflake Le Vick
Age: 19
Power: Elemental Powers. Snowflake has control over the four elements and the powers that go with these. She has control over water, fire, earth and wind. She can use these in anyway she desires; summoning tidal waves, burning people, crushing people with boulders, blowing people apart etc.
Background: Snowflake was born to two world famous superbeings, Pyro and Wavilia, in Albertasby. She lived peacefully with her parents and grandparents but she knew her parents were constantly using their powers to save people from danger or trouble. They were a key part of Albertasby's government and used their powers to defeat terrorists etc. She attended school like any normal child and lived an ordinary life with no glitz and glamour. Pyro was a close friend of the king and so, when Londim took control of Albertasby, he took the secret to the grave. Operation Hunt did however find her parents and slaughtered them, all while she hid under her bed. Her grandparents were also murded as they were witnesses to the act.
Current Situation: Ever since her parents were murdered, Snowflake swore revenge on the people that had killed them. She lay low and moved to Londim in an attempt to find the killers. Ever since, she has been slowly infiltrating the initiative and currently has someone on the inside. She does not know who it is but she uses the information to warn the other superbeings. She is waiting until the right opportunity to take down the organisation and give the superbeings their freedom back.

Decisions, decisions... I'll go with Max Morton, then. Haven't roleplayed a fanatic catholic assassin in a while, let alone one with supernatural powers.

Name: Jacob 'Bullet' Grayson
Age: 34 years
Power: Enhanced reflexes, as well as the ability to control every minute detail of his bodily movements. As such, he's supremely agile. His wounds also seem to heal much faster than should be possible.
Background: Jacob's background has a lot of black ink smeared across the more important and telling sections of his dossier. It's widely believed that he was once part of a government agency of some sort, and undoubtedly former military. What's known is that he is an American ex-patriot with an almost obsessive love of firearms of all shapes and sorts. His skill with said weapons is in and of itself super-human; be it short range or long range he rarely seems to miss and never wastes ammunition. His moniker of 'Bullet' stems from his ability to place his shots for maximum desired effect, his colleagues joking that only a man who was a bullet himself could guide his fellows so effectively.

Jacob strives for what he calls 'The Perfect Shot'; a combination of rifle, ammunition, optic, and shooter all coming together for the singular purpose of eliminating the target with a single, well-aimed shot. In pursuit of this, Jacob has become an accomplished gunsmith and hand-loader of ammunition. Much like the weapons he creates, Jacob is a machine geard solely towards the taking of life.

His prior work history lists jobs relating to assassinations, private security contracts, and quite a bit of time as a freelance mercenary.

Current Situation: Since the ban on super-beings, Jacob has kept a lower profile than usual since his genetic 'gifts' can't always be written off as being 'really good' at what he does. Being what he is, however, Jacob has recently been offered a large sum of money to participate in 'Operation: Hunt', and aside from the fact that the government offering him the contract would rather see him dead, it's too good an offer to refuse. That is, until they turn on him. Being the professional he is, Jacob is aware that's more of a 'when' than an 'if'.

Name: Known only as "Mentar"
Age: 50?
Power: Hyper-intellegence, Psionics, Magnetisim
Background: No one knows precisely where Mentar came from, or exactly how old he is. All anyone knows is that he first appeared thirty years ago, and robbed a bank.

Since then, he commited one crime after another, but most curiously, also interferred in a number of crimes by others. What his ultimate objective is, no one knows, except Mentar.

Many organizations, both public and private, have tried tracking Mentar's origins, but they all lead back to a small mountain town with no name, and only one event of note, a radioactive meteorite that fell striking a mountain of Lodestone.

Current Situation: Reports indicate Mentar working with the government in the years leading up to the ban, but how large an involvement he had with the ban is classified. Since the ban, Mentar has continued his mysterious operations with the government, helping to capture and take down many Super-beings, killing those that could not be taken by Operation: Hunt.

Name: Card Hayes
Age: 28
Power: Can slow time down around him, creating a temporal distortion bubble called a T-Zone; everything but him slows down to a crawl. Range is limited to roughly 20 feet. Only able to create T-Zones whose size add up to around the maximum.
Background: Card is a lifelong citizen of Londim; he was able to keep his powers secret for years, even though he'd had them since age six, and he's secretly worked to learn to use and control them. Because guns are near-useless in the T-Zone, he's become an expert with swords. His personal favorite is his wakizashi, because it's easily concealable, but still has the slicing power of a katana. Card has an Ōdachi as well, however. Three years ago, he was observed using his powers. He was able to flee into the countryside, where he lived incognito. However, it turns out that he left so quickly, the government never discovered who he was.

Current Situation: He recently returned to the city... but is it really safe for him there?

Name: Lisa Bronson.

Age: 23.

Power: Regenerative powers - although she isn't immortal. As long as her heart is beating, she can use her powers to heal herself. If she is near death, she begins to change her appearance in order to survive. Like the Doctor, basically.

Background: Lisa was... a conservative child when she was younger - not participating in many activities and keeping to herself. As she found out that her father had immortality, she realised that there was a bigger picture involved, seeing her brother almost murdered by soldiers who thought that he had omniscience when he made a maths joke in front of them. Taking a bullet to her head, she regenerated later into a redhead and almost changed her whole appearance. After her brother went missing, and the ban was emitted, she began to focus on living a civilian life.

Current Situation: Trying a civilian life, looking for her brother who went missing.

If I do get accepted, I have a mission here. Hopefully, I'll be able to control the two (James and Lisa) in hopes to form a team against the government.

History: Lisa, above, has been searching for her brother for the past five years. After a hairy situation with some soldiers, she's hoping to track him down so she can see whether he has powers or not, and hopefully reform the lost relationship.

Age: 25

Power: Super Strength and Speed. Uses specially made power suit to enhance his invulnerability to physical attacks (Although he is still vulnerable).

Background: Demetrius lived a normal life until the age of 15 when his powers manifested. In a fit of anger he punched his brother in the face, instantly killing him. His family afraid for their safety, contacted the military and he has become one of their top agents.

Current Situation: Currently a Lieutenant in the Londim military. He is actively used as their trump card in many situations. He is unhappy with the situation that he is in though and is planning to unite the othe Super Powered beings and their sympathizers to overthrow the current government.
