The emperor smiled back at the Bendiran. "So, how grows the opium? I trust your ensuring Bendiran opium makes plenty of addicts?"

[[OOC: This will be my last post until Sunday, for I am off camping.]]

Miss Wesson turned to review the commotion that the Jeunese man was staring at. She frowned slightly.

"Some people, eh?" She asked rhetorically, turning back to Fan, shrugging her shoulders as she spoke. She noticed the scowl just before he wiped it off his face. She would probably have done the same thing, considering how aristocratic she was. Miss Wesson was probably the most aristocratic of all the Cazatanians at the ball that night.

"I'm Senator Samantha Wesson, I represent New Berlin in the Cazatanian Senate." Said Wesson, introducing herself.

Alexandra looked embarrassed when Allen corrected her, though she understood perfectly and took no offense.

"Oh, I'm gravely sorry for the misunderstanding." She said. "However I'd like to say that being stuck with you, and that cake, is delightful!" She laughed. "I'll inform President Hasley of your arrival."

Maximillian knew all there was to know about Cazatanian military doctrine. After all, he helped write the post-Londinian wars version of it.

"Our military doctrine mostly revolves around infantry and mechanized infantry. For this reason the basic Cazatanian Army 'grunt' is one of the best trained and well armed soldiers in the region. We give them leadership training, so that every man could act as a officer if he needed to be. We also hone their marksmanship skills, which are usually already sharp thanks to the gun culture of Cazatania. Most men before their service were hunters, so they found shooting a man sized target easy compared to that of a weasel or other small animal." He explained.

Fan set his jaw by way of answering, biting off a string of remarks before they hit his tongue; his subdued anger was swiftly replaced by surprise, almost immediately gone while he put his hat back on, making sure that he tipped it back a little with his thumb. Women in government! A novel idea, he thought. He had been assuming she was some kind of aide, or the wife of a partier. "Ah-hah. Well, I'm sure you do your constituents proud," he said, trying his hand at complimenting her work.

[ I probably won't have access to the internet until Thursday afternoon/evening. ]
