The Gaosa Gasette

The Rohan-Ardales Rivalry

5 September 2026
Gaosa, Celestial Empire

Tensions have been stirred up in the halls of the Ijuru Ingoro in Gaosa with the return of who of the empire’s leading diplomatic officials, Andeja Ardales-Tyibilika and Lieutenant Colonel Alexis Rohan, with the two men becoming the new faces of the growing spilt between the powerful political dynasties of the Rohan Family and the Ardales Family.

The Rohan family is lead by Lord Haulani Rohan, the Prime Minister of the Celestial Empire and leader of the progressive interventionist Liberal Party. The Rohans have a long history of dealing with politics, with Lord Rohan (currently the 19th prime minister)’s uncle and grandfather both having previously served as the 12th and 1st prime ministers. Lieutenant Colonel Alexis Rohan has made a name for himself, both for his service in the Saizon War and in the diplomatic corps as Ambassador to Boguila and Shukomia.

The Ardales Family, spilt into two branches, the senior branch lead by the Duke of Samory & Infinity, and the Tybilika Branch lead by Andeja Ardales-Tyibilika are more famous for their business empire, Ardales Water and Dominion Power being the major sources for drinking water and electricity to vast swaths of the empire respectively. They however, through strategic marriage have reason high, with Adela Ardales-Tyibilika having married first the Prince of Gante and currently to the Crown Prince of Derita she is both mother to a future emperor and serves as Governor-General of the Gante and Garandy provinces.

The two families each exerted their influence on the Imperial Family, with the Celestial Emperor often preferring Lord Rohan, while the Crown Prince leans on his capable wife. There however has been some upset, with Prince Ameresyon, Prince of Hyrea and second son of the emperor taking for his third wife Lady Clementia Rohan, sister of the prime minister. This has effectively aligned the militant and highly autonomous Hyrea with the Liberals. Yet there still seemed to be peace in the families, that is until both Andeja Ardales-Tyibilika and Alexis Rohan returned to the capital.

Andeja Ardales-Tyibilika has long been seen as the natural successor and leader of the Ultra Party, the more conservative and isolationist faction in court, with his brother Stephan serving both as Prefect of Gaosaand the lone Ultra voice on the Inama. Reportedly, in a hope to balance the scales, the Crown Princess has pushed for her older brother to also be granted a seat on the council, preferably replacing once of the liberal seats who dominate the Inama. It has been suggested in particular she wished to replace Laurent Rohan, brother of both Lord Rohan and Alexis Rohan.

Princess Clementia, in turn, suggested removing Stephan Ardales-Tyibilika as Prefect with Alexis Rohan. These suggestions, while not yet acted on gave reportedly been taken into consideration by both the Celestial Emperor and the Crown Prince. Yet as the Celestial Emperor ages, and the Crown Prince is known as once to prefer a dark chamber to the intrigues of political halls, many suspect that they won’t be the true bastions of power, but one of the rival heads of the Rohan and Ardales Families.

Clash in Conglomerate Parliament

7 September 2026
Kurioutou

As the new session of the Jyustaxian Parliament begins, Mr. Kulyischu, deputy of the Island of Gemuru, the easternmost province of the Conglomerate-Patriarchy, interrupts the president. He brings up the idea of a law text abandoning the common military organization proposed just a few months ago, in February, as one of the key aspects of the Conglomerate. Many of his eastern colleagues approve the idea, while the Shukomian deputies and their allies oppose such decision.

To understand all of this, we need to go back in May, when the Conglomerate-Patriarchy was created. At this time, Shukomia is the main Jyustaxian power, a rising nation and a beacon of hope for other desiring to carve a place for themselves in the grand scheme of Geopolitics. When different delegates meet to discuss the project of a Confederation of some sort, Shukomia thus takes the role of the protector and patriarch of the Jyustaxian peoples. While such a position was initially well-received and accepted by the delegates, in the following months, critics have begun to spread and tension to separate the Conglomerate in two rival camps, the pro-patriarchy and the pro-equality. While the former wants to keep the precedence of Shukomia over the other member-states, the former advocates for strict equality between members.

Many of the concerns that arose concerned the unification of all armed forces under the aegis of Kurioutou. Smaller states fearing that their relative power within the Conglomerate would decline and that they would progressively be absorbed by Shukomia into an influence sphere around their strongest element. Some pro-equality politics have employed the terms Kurioutou dogs and Shukomian boot-lickers when talking about pro-patriarchy advocates in the eastern part of the Conglomerate. While these were isolated remarks, a lot of citizens and head of states have denounced the overrepresentation of Shukomia in the Parliament and have proposed a one state, one vote policy, compared to the current suffrage that favoritizes the former Boguilan Vassal State.

Thus the defiance of Mr. Kulyischu is not a new crisis that the conglomerate has to face, but the slowly emerging tip of the Iceberg. The session has been temporarily suspended by the President of the Conglomerate, known for his pro-patriarchy stance. Kurioutou has made no official comment concerning the incident, while some eastern leaders have saluted the deputy’s courage.

Stephen and Georgiana Ardales-Tyibilika welcome First Child!

8 September 2026
Gaosa, Celestial Empire

Stephen Ardales-Tyibilika, 40, and his wife, Georgiana Dreyfus, 23, welcomed their first child, a new born daughter. Ardales-Tyibilika is most well known as the twin brother of the Crown Princess of Derita and current Prefect of Gaosa, and member of the Inama of the Celestial Empire. His wife is Georgiana Dreyfus, the youngest and only surviving daughter of Lady Julissa Dreyfus, herself the daughter and heir of Charlotte Hollande, 2nd Duchess of Aumale. Georgiana’s grandmother, mother and both her older sisters were all victims amongst the Yacht Disaster that claimed the lives of the Empress Safiya three years ago along side over a hundred high ranking noblewomen of the Empire, including the Crown Princess’s own late daughter.

Since turning twenty-one, Georgiana Dreyfus has served as guardian of her niece and nephew, the six year old Julissa Dreyfus, 3rd Duchess of Aumale and the four year old Anthony Dreyfus. Georgiana and Stephen married nineteen months ago in a lavish ceremony in the capital. Critics at the time noted both the great age difference in the couple, a gap of seventeen years and some have gone as far to question the motives of the couple. While given a trust and a respectable inheritance upon the death of his grandfather the late Jahan Tyibilikia, the lion’s share of the multi-billion dérral fortune passed to his elder brother Andeja. Meanwhile his mother, the grand dame Lady Adela Ardales, is said to favorite her daughters, particularly her youngest, the widowed Lady Celena Yoyo who alone amongst the Lady Adela’s daughters has a daughter (the eight year old Adela Atwood is thus expected to one day inherit the bulk of her illustrious grandmother’s fortune).

It was with this context that many suspected that Stephan married Georgiana Dreyfus, not for her youth nor beauty, but for her checkbook, being the controller of the vast Aumale Ducal Fortune until the young duchess comes of age at 21 in 2041.

Meanwhile, Georgiana has gained status and connections with her marriage to Stephan Ardales-Tyibilika, aligning herself firmly with the Ultras, a party once lead by her great-grandfather who served as prime minister in the reign of Andeja I. As wife of the capital city’s Prefect and sister-in-law to the future empress, the pretty young Georgiana has made a reputation for herself in Gaosa as a charming, social able and glamorous individual, a must have at all the best parties and functions in the capital.

With the arrival of their new daughter, many see it as the completion of their crafted family unit. They announced her name as Adela Philippa Ardales-Tyibilika, a prestigious, if something of a mouthful of, name. The newborn has been named in honor of one of each of their sisters: Adela after the Crown Princess and Philippa after the late Philippa Dreyfus. The little Adela Philippa was successfully and safely delivered without issue Saturday evening and has since come home to the family’s mansion in the capital city where she was doted on by her paternal aunt and uncle as well as her cousins. Mother and child are both doing well. While fourth in line for the Duchy of Aumale, Adela Philippa is not likely to inherit any great titles nor fortune, save what her suitably ambitious parents make for themselves.

Inama band the use of Forced Prison-Labor

9 September 2026
Gaosa, Celestial Empire

The Inama announced the official end of the use of prison labor in the Celestial Empire, ending centuries of correctional traditions in prison facilities. The Celestial Empire has long held a relatively small prisoner population, a point of pride in the reign of Gitte the Magnificent, however tgat population has often been put to work in the construction of several of many of the empire’s great projects, often working alongside regular workers.

However advocates for prisoner’s rights have protested what has been deemed a form of slavery in the prison system, and after decades of work, had successfully beseeched the Inama of the Empire. The Inama voted in favor of the abolition of forced prison labor, with the councilors being split along party lines between the Liberals lead by Lord Rohan, and the Ultra-Doctrinaires lead by Prefect Ardales-Tyibilika.

The Celestial Emperor ultimately sided with the Liberals, marking a drift aaay from his more moderate Doctrinaire roots in the world of imperial politics.while some have applauded th decision as a boon to the Empire’s international reputation as a place of civil rights, others have stated its been a matter of points in the ongoing Rohan-Ardales Rivalry, with the Prime Minister taking the first lead.

Divergence in Kurioutou

12 September 2026
Kurioutou

While our Rector, Wasku Curminhyiq, has called the Patriarchy-Conglomerate to find a peaceful path to resolve the current issue between Equalitists and Patriarchists, the President of the Council of the Whathsuminis, His excellency, Guryiüg Durkimiq, has critiqued the Rector’s stance ; stating that “The parliament has a more firm stance against the separatist movement.” and that “The Confederation and cooperation of Jyustaxian peoples cannot exist without the patriarchy of Shukomia.”, He also called for the demission of Mr. Kulyischu.

The Rector has not yet given a response to these accusations, but some of his loyal ministers have wrote a joint communiqué saying that Mr. Curminhyiq is in his full right to dictate Shukomia’s foreign policy. Mr. Durkimiq has responded that he is now the strongest force in Shukomia. Indeed, the recent elections of the upper chamber in mid-August have seen the rise of Durkimiq’s “Rebuild” Party. While Curminhyiq’s Moderate Party still holds a decent majority in the lower chamber.

Rector Demissions!

20 September 2026
Kurioutou

After a heated, in camera debate between our former Rector’s Moderate centrist Government and Guryiüg Durkimiq’s Restoration party ; The former has officially announced that he left the seat of Rector. He has commented on the event, saying: “It appears to me the current legislature does not wish me at the head of the state. I obey their desire and hereby proclaim my demission”.

This sudden change in Shukomian politics happens right after the defiance at jyustaxian parliament, during which Mr. Curminhyiq adopted a conciliatory approach, while the far-right Restoration Party wanted a firm response. Mr. Curminhyiq and his Ministers subsequently met with Mr. Durkimiq and several of his followers, as well as other political leaders. Following this talks, Our Rector leaved the office of Head of State. He is still the leader of the Centre Coalition and should be soon confirmed as a member of the Council of Wathsuminis.

This same assembly should soon elect the new Rector. The most credible candidate is Mr. Durkimiq himself, who has seen a continuous progression of his party in the council. Some go as far as saying that he pushed the former Rector to demission, menacing him of destitution. What we know for now is that Shukomia is temporarily headless. The Parliament has been called for an extraordinary session on September 22.

Far-Right wins Rectorate!

25 September 2026
Kurioutou

THE ELECTION

After two days of talks and one break day at the Council of Wathsuminis, it has finally elected Mr. Durkimiq of the Restorationist Party to serve as the new rector, with 39 votes out of 106 on 25 september, 10:00.The two other candidates were the Progressive Gucuk Gulyg, who won 34 votes and Mr. Murkinhyitu, Curmynhiq’s second, representing the Moderate Party and the Coalition of the Centre, winning 32 voices. The CoC has lost its majority ever since the Republican Party and its 8 deputies left the Coalition and sided with the far-right. Durkimiq evermore nationalist and pro-patriarchy stances have secured him 2 votes of the National Pastoralist Party, who could have proved crucial against the left.

CONTESTATIONS

Gulyg immediately contested the election and seized the Shukomian High Judges. The CoC officially stayed silent but some delegates individually supported the contestation movement. After a 7 hours long deliberation, Gulyg’s request was deemed unfounded and Mr. Durkimiq was confirmed as Rector by the 6 judges ; it was 17:30. He was officially announced and presented to the people at 20:00.

The lower chamber has already expressed concerns about Durkimiq’s stances on aristocracy and anti-confederalism. There is a risk of boycotting because of the new government. If so, Durkimiq would have to dissolve the lower chamber, and risk to be even more unpopular. As some protesters in Kurioutou have said : “Durkimiq is the candidate of the rich and the noble”. The Republic has seen better days.

The Cacophony, Mirus

Ori and Rosie Fever Sweeps Hospea

04-October-2026
Mirus, Hospea

The birth of King Jeffrey and Queen Zora's twin daughters, Princess Edith-Orianna of Hospe and Princess Valerie-Rose of Genes has sparked an extraordinary fascination with the new additions to the Hospean Royal Family even before they make their first public appearance.
The twins have been colloquially dubbed Ori and Rosie and the public's adoration for them has barely slowed months after the announcement of their births.

Multiple members of the Royal family have come out to thank the public for the many gifts being left outside the Palace gates everyday but the nation's love for its new heirs has manifested in other ways as well.
Many brands have unveiled Ori-and-Rosie themed products and promotions ranging from limited edition tins of assorted cookies to toilet detergents running two for the price of one specials.
Another notable way in which the Royal twins are already affecting their future subjects in a more objectively positive way is that a mini-baby boom has been predicted in coming years.

OB/GYN practices and fertility clinics across the country have recorded a massive uptick in interest. Some noting up to a tenfold increase in usual daily traffic. Interest in adoption has also gone to an all time high within the country.

So as we wait eagerly to see the royal twins for the first time, it seems many patriotic Hospeans are taking it upon themselves to create as many future subjects (and taxpayers) for them as possible.
