The sun sets on the coast of Cappere, the westernmost state in the developing republic of Lackadaisia. The weekend brings many things, one of which is celebration. Natives traditionally set off fireworks and other homemade explosives to celebrate another week gone past.

"Baby hurry or we'll miss the show!" Thomas, a manager at a local retail outlet, hastens his girlfriend's preparations for the weekend festivities.

"Don't worry babe. There'll be plenty of show left for us." She quickly wraps up her purse and they rush out the door.

As they drive, they can see and hear the early parts of other's parties beginning. "Look Tom, that one! Stop the car!"

The truck slides to a halt on the white sandy road. They get out to see a homemade rocket screaming into the sky. "Wow, that's a biggin' alright. Those folks at the station are pro-"

Mid-sentence, Tom is cut off by an incredibly loud and piercing sound coming from a nearby emergency siren. At a combination of 941Hz and 1209Hz, or the DTMF tone for star on a telephone, this tone freezes all natives within earshot, except for a few.

As Tom and his girlfriend nervously watch the sky, shouting is heard in the distance. "C'mon four! Let's go four!" and "Baby needs a new pair of Crocs!"

The tone ceases for a moment, then a four DTMF tone sequence, four four three pound (#), is rapidly sounded followed by the launching of an intercept missile. The tiny object moves so fast, blinking would cause you to miss it. The homemade rocket is destroyed by Khuzhaian operated air defenses in seconds.

Cheering is heard. "Wheeew! Yeah baby!" and "I told you that sumbich' could get ol' number four to come out!"

Tom and his girlfriend chuckle as they watch the debris fall to the ground in the sparsely populated plains of Cappere. They reenter the truck and take off.

"It's a sign." says Tom as they drive.

"A sign?" his girlfriend replies.

"Yeah, that this is going to be a good weekend!" he replies enthusiastically. He leans over while driving and gives her a quick kiss. "Love you baby."

She smiles. "Love you too."

It was that time of day again! Celebrations were ringing across the country of Crossoveria. It was the anniversary of the revolution, when, in 1954, brave Crossoverians overthrew the corrupt monarchy and instated Kais Al Abidine Baldemore as their benevolent leader. That man still lives in the hearts of millions of Crossoverians, including Ahmad.

Ahmad's grandparents fought in the revolution and for their freedoms, and now live an amazing life in the city of Crossoveripolis, and for this, Ahmad is ever grateful. In fact, July 21st, the day of the revolution, was his favorite day of the year.

On that day, he wakes up at 5 in the morning, when normally he wakes up at 7:00. He eats Crossoveria's national breakfast dish: bread and honey. He then goes out to do all sorts of stuff for the anniversary. First, he visits the Grand Crossoverian Bazaar at 9 am, where he gets gift for his friends, such as clothes, jewelry, and even copies of the Crossoverian flag. Then, at 11:00, he goes to the Kais Al Abidine Baldemore Mausoleum to visit the resting place of the former Supreme Leader. Then, he eats lunch; his meal is a kabob barg with rice and potato sticks.

In the afternoon at 1:00 pm, he brings out his friends, including Gamal, Iosif, Masoud, and Kasem. At 3:00 pm, they attend the annual parade along with hundreds of thousands of people. The current Supreme Leader is also there, and Ahmad and his friends are able to meet him on the annual greet (that is Ahmad's favorite part of the day). At 5:00 pm, they head home, reminisce about their lives in Crossoveria, and play games like backgammon. Finally, at 7:00 pm, they have dinner; the traditional Crossoverian fesenjan, a sweet and sour stew served with meat, sauce, and rice. It's Crossoveria's national dish as well.

Ahmad's friends leave at 10:00, after an amazing day with them. Ahmad then finishes his day by singing the national anthem of Crossoveria, which plays on television. All in all, this has been a great day for Ahmad, and he looks forward to it next year.

Excerpt from the Migrean Nationwide News:

"Today, in The Federal Republic of Migre, citizens from all across the country are enjoying the Migrean 500. Legislation was enacted just a few days ago, allowing the finalization of the speedway, and citizens are so overjoyed to finally be able to watch people race!", says Dana Richardson, Migrean news analyst.

"Haha, yes, I really enjoy this unique turn of events in our nation. Now back to Jon Fargelf, who is at the speedway interviewing people", Dave Donald said.

"Thank you Dave. This is a spectacular day today at the speedway, and people seem to be really enjoying themselves. I for one am happy that I get a free pass here" boasts Jon Fargelf, the main reporter in the Migrean Nationwide News.

A person with a hotdog in his hands, and a slightly messy face with mustard on his nose, walks up to the reporter to be interviewed.

"Oh! It looks like someone is coming! Hello! How are you doing today at this fine speedway?" Jon Fargelf says.

The camera pans over to include the person in the shot.

"Yo, I absolutlee luv dis race! I rly hope de dude in de green car wins. OOH SUM1 IZ SELLING COTTIN CANDY" says the person who is now running off to get cotton candy.

"Well, that's it folks, it seems that people are loving this so far! As aways, text "Migre is best" (999) 999-999 to stay up-to-date on the latest news in Migre, and subscribe to our inbox on our website for exclusive features!" says Jon Fargelf.

“Get a garcon here!”
A loud cry resounded throughout the tavern, forcing all the visitors to turn in his direction. In the corner of the hall lined with tables sat a large and stout man, outwardly quite similar to an extremely angry sailor. As soon as the guests got nervous, next to the disturber of public unrest, as if out of nowhere, an obliging figure of a waiter appeared.

"Excuse me, why are you shouting like that? Is there something that doesn't suit you?"

That innocent enough question made the sailor's face redden even more.

— Doesn't suit me?! And what is that?! - not holding back, the sailor shouted and at the same time poked his finger into the plate -
Are ya trying to poison me?! Why the hell are some unedible greenery, muddy porridge and rotten fish in my plate?!

“Excuse me, sir, but these are local delicacies! We have selected only the best dishes of the Nevonian cuisine for you!"

— Oh, really??? - The sailor's face began to distort a nervous tic, - And what kind of national cuisine is this, if it stinks?!
The waiter took a deep breath, as if for encouragement, nodded to himself and pointed to the greenery:

“Look, these are nettle leaves…”

The sailor stared with horror from the very first words of this explanation.

— Wait, that nettle?! But it stings!

“It stings, yeah, but we boil it and serve the sheets separately,” the waiter continued to explain patiently, “Next is porridge,” he pointed to the cloudy gray substance on the plate – with gray pea and bacon…

The sailor shook his head: “What nonsense, they feed the cattle with this kind of pea! Who will even eat it! ”, But he forgave this rubbish for the presence of bacon in it. Though it was possible to get enough of it potentially.

- ... we remove the bacon during the cooking process and serve only porridge.
The listener's jaw dropped at that. “But why?!” he exclaimed.

“This way the dish turns out to be less fat.” the narrator shrugged.

- But it's the whole point to eat LARD from the porridge WITH LARD! - shouted the sailor with all his might. Taking a breath, he jabbed at the fish, “What’s wrong with it now? Ya ferment it in urine, don't ya? Why does it smell so wrong?!"

For all the time the verbal stench poured out on him, the waiter was not embarrassed for a second, continuing to explain in his own naive way.
— And this is our famous onion herring in its own juice! It is stored for so long that it allows you to save an extraordinary flavor!
The visitor sighed and looked gloomily at his plate. He did not expect to leave this place full.

“So it was really rotten... Can ya get me something to drink at the very least, flammable ya know? Spirit or wine, so you get it know, idiots” he clarified sourly. In response to the nod, he rolled his eyes and thought about how he had drifted into this wilderness away from the shores of the developed Coalition. Under this thought, a glass of wine was brought to him, which he immediately swallowed. But with this wine, there was something wrong. The split seconds of flames flaring up in his throat and stomach hinted at the fact that they had served him boiled wine, generously filled with spicy herbs and pepper.
The sailor began to take on a dangerous burgundy hue of the body and, to the shock of the visitors, released a wave of genuine steam from himself and rushed out of the tavern so that he knocked out the door. And although he rushed to his ship too quickly, his last phrase was remembered for a long time by the locals: “HERE?! NEVER!!!”

"Mr Voss, Mr Voss...MR VOSS WAKE UP!"

You roll your eyes up. It's late in the night, and it looks like you had slept in class again. Your economics class is a bore, and you're only attending the Merignac Academy to maintain appearances. Just another step in your privileged life, like every other Corpo. You look up to see your teacher, Gaspard Miranda.

"Anton, can you explain to me why you were sleeping in my class right now?"

You start searching your mind for an excuse. Then you find your response.

"Mr. Miranda... I know my rights. I'm 20. I can choose not to attend university, and all you need to worry about is me passing my final exams."

He stares at you for a moment and then responds without hesitation.

"I understand, Anton. But you won't pass your exams if you don't even try to learn."

You don't bother arguing. You get up, grab your backpack, and leave the university. As you step outside, you're greeted by the towering skyscrapers of your hometown, Lachaven. More are constantly being constructed, with green zones and homes being demolished to make way for them.

While lost in the skyline, someone approaches you.

"Anton! Why are you out this late!?"

It's your girlfriend, Amanda Carpenter. She's the 29-year-old daughter of Ellis Merkanz Carpenter, the CEO of Hardline Incorporated. You met Amanda at 18 and started dating, though you lost interest shortly after. Despite that, you've maintained the relationship due to her family's influence and your desire to keep up appearances.

"Hey there, darling. Just got out of college. Fell asleep in class, that's all."

Amanda immediately scrutinizes you, looking for a reason to complain.

"You look like you've been drinking! Don't lie to me! I know you were at that pub again!"

Her complaints are trivial, but you don't argue. You start walking toward her house. On the way, you notice a protest in the streets.

"WE WANT BETTER WAGES! WE WANT MORE RIGHTS! TREAT US LIKE THE HUMANS WE ARE!"

The chant echoes through the air, and you realize this is not an ordinary protest. The numbers are staggering – over 200 protesters, all united against the status quo. As you and Amanda walk, the atmosphere turns tense, and you can't shake the feeling that something ominous is about to happen.

Suddenly, chaos erupts. Shots ring out, and panic ensues. People scatter in all directions, desperate to find safety. Amanda grabs your arm, fear in her eyes.

"Anton, we need to get out of here now!"

You both start running, trying to escape the chaos. But amidst the confusion, you see protesters falling to the ground, blood staining the pavement. Amanda's grip on your arm tightens as a bullet finds its target. She collapses, her life cut short.

The world around you blurs, and you're frozen in shock. In the midst of the chaos, a policeman appears, his gun pointed at you.

"You! Stop right there!"

Your mind races as you try to process what's happening. You're innocent, but in the chaos, you're an easy scapegoat. Before you can react, the policeman accuses you.

"You're responsible for this! You killed her and all those people!"

You try to protest, to tell him that it's not true, but he doesn't listen. Before you know it, his baton is descending upon you, striking you with brutal force. Blow after blow lands on your body, and the pain is overwhelming. Darkness closes in as you're struck again, and then... everything fades away.

Popping from the heater lets locals know evening has arrived. The nights are not necessarily cold on the Tarin plains, but residents don't care for the large change in temperature after the sun has set. The radio picks up static from the heater as a family listens to the president's latest speech. Now, the states of Lackadaisia choose how to interpret and enforce laws as well as who to cooperate with regarding criminals.

"Wow, so they went all the way with it," says Father Samuel. He preaches at a small nondenominational church in Tarin. He is known in the community for harboring criminals under the guise of religious sanctuary.

"What does this mean, Father? Will they come now? Will they desecrate our place of worship?" Rita, a young follower of the faith, beckons the father for answers.

"Only time will tell. Quick, let us prepare for evening services. Rita, the draft is coming in. Please close the doors to the lobby."

"Yes, Father!"

Rita scampers over to the large doors separating the reception area from the sanctuary. As she releases the stoppers on the door, a loud knocking comes from the glass reception doors. Rita barely sees the man as he is in all black and has a balaclava on. She is frozen in fear as the sanctuary doors latch close. The doors are locked on closing, so she scurries away to the front where her family is seated.

"Are you okay Ri?" asks her father, Manny.

Manny is a fugitive in Borlo who has taken refuge in Tarin for some years. The lack of an extradition policy has made it impossible for Borlo authorities to legally apprehend him, but not track his every movement. With the change in legal systems of all four states and the nation itself, this was no longer the case.

"Daddy, I saw a man..."

"There are lots of men here, Rita. What kind of funny thing to say is that?"

"Daddy, he was a big man... but I couldn't see him."

"It's dark sweetie. Come here and we'll enjoy our time here this evening like we always do." Apprehensively, Rita enters the pew and takes a seat next to her father.

Father Samuel approaches the podium in full priest attire for the evening services. There are maybe 100 people here, all locals and supporters of the church and its message.

"Good evening my neighbors, friends and new faces I have yet to meet. Today, a grave injustice has befallen our land. The safety we have come to rely on is no longer present and we must now defend ourselves. Most of you know what I mean and some of you are even ahead of me."

Father Samuel reveals a Baretta 50 caliber handgun from under his robe.

"There are sinners in our government, and they have chosen to sway the nation to abandon us! There are sinners, too many to fight but we can prevail. We can start by cleansing our very church of the sinners!"

Dozens of the parishioners stand slowly, brandishing firearms. One man has two sets of brass knuckles. His hands are so large, two sets fits as if one would on a normal human.

"Daddy, what is happening? Who was that man at the door?"

"Rita, just sit here. We have to protect ourselves. Don't worry."

Father Samuel points his gun at one man in the audience. The man sweats like he is in a sauna.

"This man before us, he is a sinner! He is a government sinner here to spy on us and has desecrated our glorious sanctuary!"

The man in question panics and makes a bolt for the doors. He reaches the door at the back of the sanctuary in the center, going to the reception area; the door Rita closed. It is locked. The large man with the large hands, Bubba, emerges from the crowd that surrounds the man in question. He approaches the shaking man and gets really close to his face.

"What chu think yer doin' here? We know ur one of them Brolo punks comin' to spy on us. Fukin' think yer sneaky? Think wer dumb? Ha. I'll do you like I did that boy who done taken my bike when I was seven."

Bubba lifts the man up and slams him to the ground. An earpiece falls out with a wire going to his body.

"Ha! Told yer!" Bubba unlocks the door with his e-key and proceeds to help the man out. As the door opens, several dozen flash and smoke grenades detonate in various areas within the sanctuary. Chaos ensues immediately. Bubba is particularly enraged.

"I told yer he's a fukin' spy bast-" Bubba's tirade is cut short by large hollow point round piercing his temple. The beast of a man shakes the earth as he falls to the ground.

"We must make our stand! If we perish, we perish in glory! Our maker will be proud of us! Die with honor my children!" Father Samuel harps propaganda from his podium while firing blindly into the smoke-filled doorways. After the first few shots, the visiting party decides to return the favor.

"10-6 mark five five two. Commander?" one visitor says.

"Spray 'em."

A flurry of bullets comes from all openings in the sanctuary. Outnumbered, out gunned and out maneuvered, the hapless group of religious extremists scatter like roaches in panic for their lives. Some are turning their guns on themselves, their loved ones and even their children.

"Daddy, DADDY NO!" screams Rita.

"We will meet in the next life, Rita. I love you my darling Rita." Manny sobs uncontrollably as he speaks. "I love you! I love yo-" Just before the unthinkable, Rita's father Manny is struck down by several shots from the hell storm of copper flooding in. Rita cowers under the pew as her father lay lifeless. The 9mm handgun, the one that almost sent her to the next life, sets before her. She picks it up and holds it close.

"I don't want to die, I don't want to die." she repeats to herself.

The chaos stops as quickly as it started. The parishioners lay lifeless on the ground; the carpet sporting a new crimson hue. Rita continues to plead to herself as the room fills with men in black sporting Borlo Security Solutions patches. A man sees Rita moving and approaches. He hears her pleads.

"I don't want to die..." prays Rita.

The man in a full mask and glasses asks Rita, "Is this your father here next to you?"

"Y-yes sir."

"The man nods, "This here in your hands, is this his gun?"

Rita gives the handgun to the man. "Yes, it was his..."

The man nods and speaks into his radio. "You will not die today, young one. I can promise you this. God certainly has a plan for you."

Bongos play in the afternoon sun on the coast of Cappere. Families gather for another lunch in their privately owned beach complexes while the public revel in the sounds and smells of many boiling pots along the shoreline. In these pots, all kinds of seafood. Down the beach, one can see crayfish, mussels, and one man is even attempting to fit in a swordfish!

Prue bliss encompasses the most civilized of Lackadaisia's states. Cappere, a virtual paradise, hosts the homes of the most wealthy and powerful Lackadaisians. Even Big Mack himself has his residence here. The roads are made of cobble and brick instead of asphalt and fill. Gated communities fill the gaps between the meticulously laid out roads towards the coast while the inlands are used for agriculture. A clear line defines the affluent Cappere from the rest of Lackadaisia, a separation not seen anywhere else in the nation.

Niles and Margaret, retired and wealthy, spend their days in Cappere watching the world evolve around them from the safety of their little slice of heaven.

"I say Margaret, it seems our Zuperian neighbors are out for a sun." says Niles Chupasky, a wealthy oil baron with a complex larger than some Tarin subdivisions.

"Oh dear, they've done more to their craft! Look dearie, look at the back end. You see that extra bit? What is that?" says Margaret.

"Ah Margaret, it looks like more engine! They like to go fast, you know. Those cork-heads, great military, but a bit peculiar when it comes to that Jelwa fellow." says Niles.

"Ah yes. Niles dearie, you remember our trip to Kulubet? It was marvelous. I even got one of their native hats! Made of real cork. I can see why they like them so much!" says Margaret.

"Yes dear... I suppose they do look spiffy..." says Niles with little enthusiasm.

"Yes... but on them of course! Ha ha ha!" laughs Margaret.

"Ha ha ha, you are a jovial minx, you are!" replies Niles in a much more upbeat tone.

They have a short laugh and each grab another watercress sandwich. A chime at the door signs company has arrived. Having eaten the small snack, they make their way inside holding hands, a joy many will know but few will know well.

August 20: There are no rules in war

Postby Carahue » Sun Aug 20, 2023 6:16 pm

The sun had already risen. It was another day of school in Soledad, a city in the south of Carahue in the region of Equit. The city had been heavily bombed and even occupied by the SRR forces, but after an intense urban battle, the city was liberated by the allies (Carahue, Midwich and Sierra Grand).

Sofia, a 15-year-old teenager, remembered this with horror. Remember that she was sleeping, when suddenly the air raid sirens began to roar throughout the city. She went to her window and saw explosions, fire, and many bullets shooting into the sky. Her parents took her to the basement, where they spent the rest of the night. Fortunately no one was killed and his apartment received negligible damage. Despite that, fear was still present in the family, so they were always on alert. Fortunately, that had happened several months ago.
It was already August 2023, and by that date, Carahue and the SRR were in a ceasefire, and the risks of renewed fighting were practically unimaginable.

August 9, 2023

Sofía was grateful that at least that day they were going to have alliances at her school, to celebrate its anniversary, and that for that reason she could wear normal clothes (or street clothes as they say in Carahue) and not the annoying school uniform.

Sofía met with her friends and, after having shared breakfast with her class, I°B (or First Middle "B" as students who take that course between the ages of 13 and 15 are called, comparable to 1st high school) and together with their companions, they went to the patio, where the alliances were just beginning: The Medieval or blue (all the courses that were in any course of "B" belonged to this alliance), represented with the flag of the Mongol Empire, vs The Contemporaries or Reds (everyone who was in an "A" course belonged to this alliance), represented by the flag of the Soviet Union.

But before beginning any activity, the national anthem of Carahue was sung and a special prayer for all those people who were fighting at that very moment, for the sovereignty and freedom of the country, against the Soviet Robot Republics, governed by the bloodthirsty dictator "Abu Pashwar Kashmir Pshukov Kiemitsky". And after that, both bars began to shout cheers for their nation and in honor of the victims of the war.

After that, the activities began. The first activity was a trivia about the history of Iran, in which they asked how many dynasties it had, the invasions of the Greeks-Macedonians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Mongols, Otomans, etc, until the revolution and the invasion of the country by the Baathist Iraq, and other characters such as Darío, Ciro, Zoroaster, Marjane Satrapi, etc. The red alliance ended up winning this and other activities, such as the "minimix" that consisted of dances, etc. The alliance of the blues was losing by a lot, until it was time for the "Duel of the Fates" activity, which was basically a estar guars lightsaber duel where the winner was whoever "stabbed" the rival's heart. Sofia had signed up for that activity. I was ready. He had prepared a lot in the last few days. She was going to fight for her, and for her alliance, the blues of the Middle Ages. But what he didn't imagine was that the sabers were real sabers. Sabers coming from perhaps where.

-Will this be legal? And how did they get this? - thought the girl. His heart was beating a thousand times. The duel was a duel to the death. I could not believe it. Worst of all, there was no option to resign. Someone had to die.
She took the saber. Most likely it was a saber that belonged to some Soviet, due to the marks that had the shape of the SRR flag. Suddenly, those marks were replaced by the Carahue flag.

Sofia lit the saber: It was very futuristic. The saber was blue in color. She looked at his rival. His rival was Joahn Latipur, a boy who had always been bullied. She gave him a challenging look.
-Oh, what do we have here? The uncreative Mongolians chose this asshole to face me. Hehehehehe. How pathetic.
-You'll take back saying that to me when I punch you in the face.
- OOOOOHHHHH!!! -shouted the blue alliance rod.
-My alliance will be the one that will win. You will lose.

Sofía couldn't take it anymore and threw herself on Latipur. he dodged her and kicked her, making the girl fall. Is it that in that school they promoted violence? Just as she was getting up, the city's air raid sirens began to wail. Sofia looked at the sky: Hundreds and hundreds of planes were facing each other. Various dots came out from several of those planes. They were paratroopers from Kiemitsky's army. And they came to kill them all.

The students ran out of the place. But only Sofia, Joahn, and the first Soviet paratroopers who landed on the spot were left in the yard.

-Finally they are here! Take me with you! Long live the communism! Long live Kiemitsky! - Joahn yelled. But he was greeted with a shot in the head and died instantly. Suddenly, 10 soldiers approached Sofia and 2 of them lit their lightsabers, red, for the color of their country, the Sovietic Robot Republics.

Sofia launched the attack, and began to do the movements she had learned, dodging both the bullets and the thrusts.
She managed to kill 5, leaving 8 of them wounded, but one of them, apparently a general, managed to capture her and left her unconscious.

Sofia woke up in some kind of prison. She didn't know how much time had passed. It was all dark, and the environment in which he surrounded his cell was very gloomy. Also, no explosions or gunshots were felt or heard. Everything was very calm, as if she had been taken to another place than Soledad.
-Let me go out of here, bastards! - shouted.
-I see that you have a lot of courage, girl -. A deep voice answered, but at the same time gloomy.
- Who... who are you?
-Oh girl I see that you have more questions than answers, despite the fact that my name resonates throughout Equit.

"[...]my name resonates throughout Equit". Upon hearing this sentence, Sofia's mind exploded, both with excitement and with incredible rancor and hatred. That man was him. The one responsible for the entire war, its sufferings, its miseries. The pain of her people. Standing before her, looking down on her with grace, was the dictator of her southern neighbors, the butcher of the SRR Abu Pashwar Kashmir Pshukov Kiemitsky.
Kiemitsky opened the cell, leaving Sofia free.
-I see you've got the lightsabers donated to us by that Galactic empire with a name I don't even remember. - said the dictator with a little thing that Sofia recognized as light sabers. - We use that technology to clone more lightsabers. And they all chose us... except yours, who apparently chose you, little Carahuean. Just don't play adult games, girl.
Sofía replied with contempt and pain:
-If you don't want me to play adult games, then tell me, why are you doing all this to us? Why did you choose war over peace?
Kiemitsky gave a loud laugh and then he answered to the young Carahuean:
-What good is peace, if there is always war? There has never been peace in the world. You just came out of a military dictatorship 30 years ago. 80 years ago you were invaded and occupied by Germany, with those concentration camps and millions of genocides, 100 years ago you had a government under sharia, not to mention the war against the Huapiche that lasted more than 300 years! You see, girl, there is no peace anywhere. Not even in your country. And we will do you the great favor of giving you the peace you so long for, in exchange for certain conditions, of course. But then you attacked us and destroyed Mingapansk. We will take revenge, and we will do well to eliminate them one by one, until the Carahuean ethnic group and all the Spanish-speakers have left all of Equit... - he paused to breathe a little, and then, with an evil face he said: - We will leave today with you, girl. I know everything. I am invincible, I am immortal. I AM KIEMITSKY, THE GOD EMPEROR OF THE SOVIETIC ROBOT REPUBLICS! And now, it's your turn to die.
- No... You won't get away with it! INFAMOUS! DISGUSTING! CRIMINAL!
- Now the girl is thinking the heroin... how pathetic. - Kiemitsky mocked, and punched her in the stomach.
Sofia was thrown out of the room like a bullet and collided with a wall. Sore and very weak, she slowly backed away from Kiemitsky.
- You thought you were going to beat me so easily huh?- Kiemitsky scoffed. Sofia didn't understand what he was talking about if she hadn't even hit him back. -You are too foolish and innocent. For your information, Equit is not a place for innocent people. As I told you, your country has had many wars, besides this one. Imagine yourself in the rest of Equit! People are rude and violent, girl. You will not survive. And I will do you the favor of killing you before suffering.
Kiemitsky took from his pocket a lightsaber, red like the national color of his country.
And just when he was going to give the final blow to Sofía...
BOOOM!!!
A gigantic explosion hit the roof, causing it to collapse. Suddenly, 20 people, apparently military, appeared on the scene with ropes. The air raid sirens began to wail. Shots were heard in the environment.
-Impossible... - Kiemitsky was surprised.
The soldiers carried the flags of Carahue in their arms, but it was noticeable that their skin was very white. It was logical: Those soldiers were Midwichians (with the exception of 2 who were noted to be Carahuean captains) and they had Kiemitsky surrounded.
"Your reign of terror has ended here, Kiemitsky," said one of the soldiers. - You will pay for all the millions of lives you have ended, including the life of my friend from Atao.
-Crap. Your army is horrible. You will never beat me. You have before you the great and invincible leader Kiemitsky, GOD OF ALL EQUIT!!!
-We'll see about that.- said a female voice behind him, kicking him and making him drop one of Kiemitsky's lightsabers. It was Sofia. The young woman had decided to get up and face once and for all that conceited and crazy tyrant who brought so many deaths with him.
Sofia picked up the lightsaber and ignited it. Kiemitsky did the same. They both stared at each other defiantly.

-SHOOT! - said the general of the small Midwichian platoon and they began to shoot against Kiemitsky. The supreme leader blocked all the bullets with his sword and one by one he killed the soldiers.
-NOOOO!! - Sofía yelled furiously and pounced on Kiemitsky. He dodged her, hitting her on the shoulder. Kiemitsky tried to stab Sofia, but the girl blocked it with her lightsaber, and they stayed like that for 4 minutes, until a soldier fired a bullet at the supreme leader and hit him right in the tyrant's hip. Kiemitsky groaned in pain and seizing the opportunity, Sofia screaming furiously, plunged the saber into his heart, leaving Kiemitsky stunned and stiff.
-This is for my hometown Soledad, for my family, for my friends, for Carahue, for Midwich, for all those innocents killed, and for Equit! LONG LIVE CARAHUE!!
Sofia abruptly withdrew the saber from Kiemitsky who began to gurgle blood from his mouth. But just before Kiemitsky expired and fell limp to the ground, Sofia felt a pang of pain, a pain so sharp that it was unbearable.
Sofia knelt down. It couldn't be possible. She was not going to die that day. Seeing that she was dying, the soldiers stopped celebrating Kiemitsky's death and lifted Sofía up and climbed back into the helicopters just as they came in.
-Where are we and... what... what day is it today? - Sofia asked weakly as they began to examine her.
-Today is August 20 and we are in Kiemitskygrad, in the Sovietic Robot Republics. We will take you to Ciudad de Carahue, where the doctors will perform tests and surgeries to save your life, resist. You have become quite a hero, and not only for Carahue, you're also a hero for the citizens of Kiemitskygrad and all the SRR.
Sofia smiled slightly. he looked down, where the prison he had just left was. Suddenly, the building exploded, destroying everything in it, and with it the body of the Kiemitsky tyrant.
-Kiemitskygrad is beautiful. Too bad such a horrible man has tarnished his reputation. - he said weakly. Little by little, the girl began to breathe less, until, when they were arriving at the hospital in Ciudad de Carahue, she stopped breathing, and passed out.
- At least I have seen the great City of Carahue. How beautiful is. How many lights are there. How many skyscrapers does it have. And what higher mountains there are. - thought.

- Put the lightsabers somewhere safe so they don't fall into the wrong hands and start another war again.
War is never and has never been good. It has only been detrimental to everyone. If everyone lived in peace, maybe life and the entire universe we know would be better. With only solidarity, respect, affection, tolerance and empathy we would be able to live a better world. - she managed to say unconsciously while they connected electrodes to revive her.
Those were her last words.

Chileno de corazón
Did you know that if you multiply 7 to 666, then 11 and finally 13, it will give 666666?

It is a cold rainy afternoon in Blueven, the summer season is coming to an end as the rainy season takes place. Raiton, the largest city in all of Blueven opens its lights to peer its majestic skyline at the setting sun in the horizon. It's just business as usual in the city, the rain pours down and a traffic jam has formed on the streets. Rush hour is a pain after all. And public transportation has been a long complaint for citizens and tourists around.

Here we see an apartment somewhere in the downtown district. Living on the 7th floor won't make you immune from the honking noise on the ground.

A 19 year old college student by the name of Raymond is looking out of the glass window of the balcony. Meanwhile his 19 year old roommate Stacy is busy watching television until she noticed his quietness.

... Hey uhm... are you okay there Ray?

Hmm? Oh, its nothing... I'm just, looking outside you know. The rain is just nice to stare at sometimes.

Sure... but are you really? When was the last time someone asked you that?

Heh, you're right about that.

I don't mean to be a little pushy and all, but I just want to know.

...

I'm not sure to be honest. Sometimes I don't know why. Or maybe its just my exams coming next week.

Well... I'm here at least. If something is on your mind, you can tell me right?

I know but, its more complicated than that...

Okay I'll be honest, I just don't want you to see me differently. I'm a little too cautious.

In short, you don't like sharing much huh? I already have an idea about that when we first met.

But no need to worry about that. I'm not like your parents after all haha.

Heh, you're right. Thanks, for you know... being here I guess.

Its only a matter of time. We can move out into the country side and move away from the busy streets around here.

That would be nice, but college comes first. And eventually find a job with that.

There's nothing too big of a challenge if the two of us are together~

Fire and Water. Part 1

Postby Atao » Sun Oct 01, 2023 6:24 pm

Eastern Continent of Equit, year 570 A.C.

The Zhuro Empire had expanded by blood and fire, managing to dominate a vast territory on the eastern continent, from the cold glaciers of the extreme south, to reaching the Gadafi desert, even sending colonization and conquest expeditions that They are said to have reached the legendary Solar Island, in the north of the continent (but they were never interested in the north because of the gigantic desert there), and to the eastern coasts of the Central Continent.

Emperor Grting Thy (pronunciation: Gurting Dai) had gone mad. With each kingdom and city conquered, he ordered each soldier to murder 2 people, a man and a woman, and to bring a representative to the palace to leave their heads impaled as an offering and symbol of loyalty to the emperor (considering that the Zhuro armies were in fact general of one hundred thousand soldiers). He had no mercy for anyone. The last independent bastion remaining in the south of the continent was the Kingdom of Atao, which had an extensive coastline along the Equitian Ocean, several tundras and forested mountains to the south, and jungles to the north, giving the country a great defensive advantage.

Ri Samme was a 14-year-old girl who lived in a small village somewhere remote in the forested mountains of the country. His skin was dark, his hair was black, straight and short, and his eyes, Mongoloid like all the people in his village, were brown. Together with his mother he dedicated himself to collecting various herbs, fruits, and mushrooms from the forest, while his father and his twin brother dedicated themselves to felling wood and hunting animals to later sell them in the market and thus try to earn a living. They were the only family that knew how to read in the village, even though reading was not going to be of any use to them in life. It was something absurd for a gathering family.

One afternoon, while Ri was picking berries from the bushes, he found something unusual: a mark carved into a tree. That mark had symbols and lines engraved on it that she couldn't understand. Ri didn't understand anything, but he felt a deep attraction towards that brand. But he couldn't get closer, since:
-Ri! The sky is getting dark. It's time to go back!

Her mother always told her that she didn't have to go outside at night, or else she would get lost and some forest monster would catch her. The girl went back home with her mother, but she couldn't sleep that night. Ri kept thinking about that strange mark. She decided to escape silently from his fall and go to the place where that mark was. Incredibly, no one heard her leave.

Ri arrived at the place and set about trying to identify that strange symbol. That mark seemed to be shouting something at him. Something that Ri couldn't understand, but it made the girl feel connected to that symbol. But just as she began to immerse herself in a universe filled with that same symbol, Ri found herself distracted by a strange smell. A burning smell, and it was becoming more and more intense.
-Oh no! -the girl thought. Ri ran out of the place and quickly returned to her village, which was now burning. There were people running and soldiers everywhere.

-The "Piglins"! The "Piglins" are attacking us! That was the nickname of the people from the Zhuro empire. And they were massacring them. Ri couldn't believe what she was seeing. She was paralyzed. Suddenly, an imperial soldier pushed her, but a defending soldier defended her, killing the attacker.

-Fast! We have to leave here immediately.
-Where are you going? -asked the girl.
-We are going to the city of Makassaria, to the south. We must inform the authorities about this attack and prevent the Empire from advancing further across the countr... -But before the Ataian soldier could continue speaking, an arrow silenced him, causing him to fall to the ground.

Ri was horrified and fled to her house (or well, what was left of it) to see her family. The entrance was completely burned and he was able to identify some bodies, which were those of 2 soldiers, and that of his father and brother. He ran to his parents' room, where his dying mother was.

-Mother! -the young woman shouted as she tried to get her out of the place
-Ri... what are you doing here.
-Trying to save you, mother.
-No, do not do it. Save yourself. I don't want them to find you.
-But, mom...
-It's too late, my daughter.
Ri started to shed a couple of tears. The young girl did not resist and hugged her mother,
-Mom. Please. Don't go. I need you.
-My love. Run away, as far as you can. And no matter what happens, never give up. Dad, your brother and I will always be protecting each other, up there. Ri burst into tears next to her mother. She didn't want her to die.
But suddenly...

-Save yourself, my daughter. Save the innocent!

CRASH!!!

-NOOOOOOOOO!!

Ri's mother had saved her, pushing her away from the collapsing house, but at a cost. Was gone. Ri was stunned, and stiff. But she didn't cry.
For the first time in her life, the girl felt a deep desire for anger. A feeling of killing those who killed their loved ones.

That night, Ri swore revenge:
-Someday I will get revenge on those damned "Piglins". The emperor will know what a tremendous mistake he has made. I'm going to kill all those damn morons. Grting Thy, here I come!

To be continue...
