Heroes Day:RSDAF holds joint military exercises with the UK
SIMANGGANG-The ability of Sarawak Darulhana and the United Kingdom (UK) to deal with the threat of insurgency in the current uncertain global security situation will be tested in the 2023 Defender of Crown Excise.

Taking place for 21 days at Camp Pakit, Simanggang and the Forest Reserve General Area, Tandang Sari, the joint training program will strengthen military relations between the two countries.

The Commander of the 7th Brigade, Brigadier General Haji Awang Bustani Awang Haris said that the entire training program involved 1290 members of the 17th Battalion of the Royal Soldier Regiment (17 RAD) and 530 members of the 2nd Battalion Company of The Royal Gurkha Rifles.

"Also participating in the exercise were 50 members of the 511th Regiment of People's Soldiers (AR) and 410 members of the 12th Battalion of the RMD who acted as 'enemies'," he said.

He said this after witnessing the opening of the exercise at Camp Pakit, here yesterday.

The Excise Defender of Crown 2023 is more focused on the Counter-Insurgency Warfare Strategy (PMI) in the situation of the forest and the terrain of Sarawak Darulhana involving the movements of both teams.

Bustani said that the excise also indirectly opened up space for both forces to test the government control function at the battalion and infantry company levels.

"In order to make the training successful, all members will participate in cross-training, survival and adaptation at Camp Pakit, while the field training (FTX) will be held at the Forest Reserve General Area in Tandang Sari," he said.

Meanwhile, the Defense Adviser at the British High Commission, Colonel Stephen Hall said, the UK is improving its defense relations with allies from other countries, including Sarawak Darulhana.

He said, the UK is preparing to face the current uncertain global security situation and wants to hold more military exercises with its allies such as the Sarawak Darulhana.

"The UK and this country have a joint military history starting from the era of the Second World War, the Malayan Emergency (emergency) and the confrontation involving Malaysia - Indonesia (1963) and also the Sarawak Civil War where the UK was on the northern side(Sarawak Darulhana) and Indonesia was on the southern side(South Sarawak).

"The military history builds a solid Sarawak Darulhana - UK relationship and we hope it can continue to be improved to face the global security situation hereafter," he said.

Hall said, his country will continue to learn jungle warfare from Sarawak Darilhana as it is being implemented through the Defender of Crown 2023 Excise.

The 1st Division Commander, Major General Datu Haji Pengiran Hashim bin Haji Pengiran Sebl Choon Siang together with the British High Commissioner, Vicki Treadell are expected to complete the closing ceremony of the exercise, May 27 next month at Camp Pakit, here.

Tamara - The Agausian band Echoes of Tomorrow has officially secured a spot in the highly coveted 2023 Eurovision contest. The group's electrifying blend of electro-pop and jazz fusion, coupled with their standout song "ni.ɒn Blʌd" (pronounced Neon Blood), won them the top spot in the national selection competition.

Comprised of Tamar Shalamberidze as the lead vocalist, Nika Nadirashvili on the synth/keyboard, Mariam Ramonti on drums, and Gia Ivanovi on bass guitar, Echoes of Tomorrow impressed the judges and audiences alike with their catchy and unique sound.

The song "ni.ɒn Blʌd" showcases the band's ability to seamlessly blend different genres, with elements of jazz and electro-pop interwoven throughout the song. Shalamberidze's vocals add a touch of soulfulness, while Nadirashvili's synth and keyboard playing provide a futuristic, otherworldly quality to the music. Ramonti's drumming is both steady and dynamic, and Ivanovi's bass guitar playing ties the whole sound together.

Echoes of Tomorrow's win in the national selection competition came as a surprise to many, as they were up against several other talented acts. However, their unique sound and catchy song ultimately won over the judges and secured their spot in the highly anticipated Eurovision contest.

The band members expressed their excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to represent their country in the prestigious competition. "We are thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to showcase our music on such a grand stage," said Shalamberidze. "We cannot wait to share our sound with audiences from all over Europe and beyond."

Agausia has been absent from the international music scene since 2017, focusing on regional ties and domestic issues. However, the recent invasion of Ukraine by Russia has prompted Agausia to reassess its priorities and seek greater opportunities for tourism. To this end, the country has shifted its focus towards cultural exports, including music, art, and literature.

Echoes of Tomorrow's win in the national selection competition therefore represents a significant step towards Agausia's cultural and diplomatic goals. The band's unique blend of electro-pop and jazz fusion reflects the country's rich cultural heritage and modern aspirations, and is likely to resonate with international audiences.

Overall, Agausia's return to Eurovision is a positive development for the country, as it provides a platform for showcasing its creative talents to a global audience. In light of recent events, music and art are likely to play an increasingly important role in the country's efforts to rebuild its image and forge new ties with the international community.

SARAWAK DARULHANA PROMISES TO SEARCH SULTAN OF SAMBAS S.M FAMILIES

SANTUBONG-Sarawak Darulhana promised to find a member of the royal family of the Sultanate of Sambas S.M. to strengthen sovereignty in the Autonomous Region of Sambas which is administered by Sarawak itself after the surrender of the region by Indonesia in 2011.

The statement was made by the Holder of the Royal Order of Sarawak Darulhana after a special documentary titled "Where are Sultan of Sambas today?" published by DHN and DHN World to commemorate "The Fall of Sambas to Japan" yesterday.

"His Majesty the Sultan has made every effort to look for him in Sarawak and even in Brunei Darussalam but has not found any clues.",He saids

The royal family members of the Sambas Sultanates are very important to rearrange the lineage of the royal families of Brunei, Sarawak Darulhana and Sambas since these three kingdoms have a common ancestor, Sharif Ali Al-Barakat who is an "Ahlulbait" (descendant of the Prophet Muhammad Pbuh).

reported by the Palace, His Majesty the Sultan ordered several important departments to find evidence and documents related to the line of the Sultanate of Sambas so that it would be easy for the Sultan to hand over his autonomous territory to the "new Sultan" based on the lineage and also confirmed by three side's, the royal family side's , the people's side's and the "Batini".

looking for them is not like looking for a book on a bookshelf. we are very careful in rearranging the Sambas family lineage and it cannot be done with "arbitrarily".

he also said, integrity is essential for every individual involved to ensure that the search for a "sultan" for the Sambas region is not contaminated and not disturbed by those who try to disrupt the smoothness of the process.

DHN is expected to broadcast several more special documentaries related to the Sambas Royal Family to inform the audience that "they" are essential for the establishment of a new government where the Sarawak Darulhana itself will enthrone the Sultan of Sambas soon.

Caretaker Government Sworn In, Declares May 25 Election
Following the collapse of the conservatives, the caretaker government under technocrat Sauvageot has announced elections will commence May 25

Thérèse - English Translation Following the sudden collapse of the sitting conservatives, the caretaker President Sauvageot announced May 25th as the next election soon after he, his government, and cabinet were sworn in today. For the first time in Lisieuxian history, the Supreme Court appointed a caretaker government with the support and backing of parliament. While official documents define it as a 'caretaker role,' experts have described it as more of a national unity government since NUGs are explicitly called on during national emergencies and are widely supported by almost all major parties and all coalitions.

In a press release this morning, President Sauvageot added that the caretaker cabinet is "looking forward towards working with Lisieuxians on the most pressing matters during this crisis, including resolving the continuing labour disputes, and distributing emergency relief funds towards the businesses that were damaged during the civil unrest." The SDL and SBL parties have assured its voters in an online video that the national unity government "will push the interests of the environment and labour at the top of its priority" and has indicated it will revoke support if the FDL or Bloc attempt to "reignite old tensions."

Meanwhile, the FDL has also committed to an environment pledge, although it has emphasized "dealing with civil unrest first and foremost." Several MPs from FDL-Bloc have suggested calling the army to help dismantle the barricades around the Presidential office and are demanding increased armed police presence "in the immediate future." They have also indicated their interest in pushing forward a long-term strategy of fully arming the APN (Agence de Police Nationale) and creating a special riot police squad, "complete with water cannons and gas masks."

Soon after the announcement, FDL leader Viviane Virlogeux released a statement on social media, announcing her intention to run for Presidency, with Bloc Noir leader Jean-Yves Touchard running as her second mate. Last week, the FDL and Bloc Noir signed an agreement to build a coalition named FDL-Bloc, or Bloc de FDL. In reaction, the SDL-Liberal-Green coalition has sought to repair its relationship with the SBL coalition amid a stronger FDL; both of which fervently oppose the possibility of an FDL government "in any capacity." In a viral tweet from Liberal mp from Ville-de-Bordeau-Laurent Godefrey Deschamps, he chided the SBL for "delaying cooperation against the FDL-Fascists"

The SDL and SBL have criticized the FDL for perpetuating revisionist narratives and are accusing the Bloc of denying indigenous rights, history, and the French atrocities committed against the Melanesians during the colonial era. Last year, several MPs signed a successful petition to remove an FDL mp for romanticizing French colonialism and support for French reintegration. In recent years, the FDL has been condemned by Chinese civil societies and accused their MPs of committing hate speech against ethnic Chinese and Japanese people. In social media, FDL politicians have been frequently banned for racist remarks against ethnic Asian people and immigrants and refugees in Lisieux. Virlogeux dismissed these claims and concerns as "outright defamation and derogatory remarks against European-ness." Touchard also once accused the SBL as "hypocrites" since their MPs have also been banned for romanticizing the Soviet Union and their opposition of support for Ukraine.

So our choices are: social liberals, social democrats, or far righties? Really? At the very least the conservatives were the centre-right alternative to these extremist parties, now who the hell am I gonna vote for?!

Kinda sus that the article kinda ignores the SBL's controversies, like them spreading blatant pro-Russian propaganda during the first few months of the Ukrainian invasion... but at least it shows just how sh***y the FDL and Bloc are.

Turkish citizens in Agausia cast vote in crucial Turkish elections
Author: Luisi Aǵčiḱâni
Friday, April 28, 2023

Image

Tamara - Turkish citizens based in Agausia began voting on Thursday in Turkey's elections at polling stations around the country. The elections, due to happen on May 14, pose the biggest electoral threat to President Tayyip Erdoğan and his ruling Justice and Development Party in two decades.

As of the 2020 census, the Turkish population in Agausia numbers a little over 20 000, the majority of whom are Turkish nationals. The Ministry of Internal Affairs, Regional Development, Tourism, and Local Economies has confirmed five polling stations around Agausia: two in the capital Tamara, one in Romda, one in Pativtsëmë, and one in Šavi Žva.

Polls show that current Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and main opposition candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu are virtually tied, with Kılıçdaroğlu having a slight lead over Erdoğan, according to many observers and pollsters.

Pativtsëmë resident Gulnara Aksoi, who has an Agausian mother and a Turkish father, stated that she supports Erdoğan for a second term because he unites and uplifts their (the Turkish) diverse community, commits to economic growth and national security, and brings stability and progress to the country.

In past elections, the Turkish population in Agausia has shown support for conservative and right-leaning parties more than their ethnic Agausian counterparts. Erdoğan was scheduled to visit Agausia in late February 2023 to campaign but had to cancel the trip after an earthquake on the sixth. As Erdoğan seems poised to lose the following election next month, this loyalty will be tested.

While the outcome of the election is uncertain, one thing remains clear: the bond between Agausia and Turkey will remain strong. Turkey is a crucial economic and military partner for Agausia, and this partnership will continue to thrive regardless of the election results. The two nations will collaborate and support each other, solidifying their relationship for the future.

NDP Muddle Through; Nyborg wins second term

Postby Avinaa » Sun Apr 30, 2023 12:21 pm

The ruling New Democratic Party was able to secure a second term in government having defied the worst expectations in the lead up to the vote. In the nation's parliamentary results, the NDP suffered a bruising night losing 50 seats and losing the distinction as largest party to their center-right Conservative Party rivals. The real winners of the election were the third place Green Party. The Greens won 66 seats - up from 35 seats won four years prior - making them the kingmaker in the next parliament. Smaller parties, the Liberals, Social Democrats, and Nationals all had poor showings. The Social Democrats avoided a complete shutdown from parliament, but only won 5 seats and for the first time won less than 5% of the vote. Liberals, up and down the ballot, failed meet the high expectations they and many in the media set for them and the National Party fell short in many key rural constituencies.

In the presidential race, Conservative Theresa Grayfield bested her NDP and Green competitors in the first round winning 34% to incumbent Laura Nyborg's 30%. Green candidate Maria Silvia won 25%, party's best showing. The the second round, Nyborg won a narrow 51% - 49% against Grayfield. In parliament, the Greens announced that they would renew their coalition government with the NDP.

Full results:

Parliament:
NDP: 32% - 100 + 68 = 168 (-50)
Conservatives: 35% - 103 + 75 = 178 (+23)
GRN: 19% - 24 + 42 = 66 (+31)
LIB: 7% - 15 + 15 = 30 (+30)
SDP: 4% - 5 + 0 = 5 (-50)
NAT: 3% - 3 + 0 = 3 (+3)

President: 1st round
Laura Nyborg, NDP (inc.): 30% ✅
Theresa Grayfield, Conservative: 34% ✅
Maria Silvia, Green: 25%
Arianna Ozborne, Social Democrat: 6%
Albert Johnson, National: 5%

President: 2nd Round
Laura Nyborg, NDP (inc): 51% ✅
Theresa Grayfield, Conservative: 49%

In the announced agreement, the Greens gained several concessions and would occupy more seats in the nation's Council of Ministers. President Nyborg tasked incumbent NDP leader Charles Yang to form a government. Noticeably, the Greens will get half of the seats on the Council and senior ministries including the foreign affairs, justice, and interior ministries.

Ethnic insurgents leaders arrested but tensions are still high in Kalsakia's capital

Chejjiak, Special Administrative Capital of Chejjiak, Kalsakia
The Dimitri Roundabout, North Kalsakia
2:09 P.M

Chejjiak - The remaining leaders of the National Liberation of Suryak People and the Qayik's Democratic Struggle were arrested on April 28th by the Operational Task Force "Tiger's Den" commandos in the towns of Yizgan and Kidov. The leaders, aged between 40 to 60 would be charged under the Special Administrative Region's High Court of the Federation under Section 3 of the Administrative Region Code, which is the "Act of against the innocent, or the Federation by using ethnic and or religious means" as the leaders would be sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison.

Dyrrhonian Man Arrested for Threatening to Choke Duke's Pet Chicken

In a bizarre incident that left locals scratching their heads, a Dyrrhonian man was arrested by the police after threatening to choke the Duke's Chicken in broad daylight. The man, identified as Basil Petrid, made the threat in front of several bystanders while standing outside the Duke's palace in the heart of Rhamnasis.

Eyewitnesses say that Petrid had been drinking heavily and was shouting insults at the Duke when he suddenly turned his attention to the Duke's pet chicken. "I'm gonna choke that damn chicken!" he reportedly shouted, causing several people to gasp in shock.

Lord Protector Odenath Pius, head of the private police organization that patrols the city, was quick to respond to the scene. "We take threats against the Duke's property very seriously," he said in a statement to the press. "Mr. Petrid's behavior was unacceptable and he has been placed under arrest."

Petrid was taken into custody and charged with making a terroristic threat against the Duke's property. Pius stated that his private police organization has a zero-tolerance policy for such behavior and that they will continue to ensure the safety of the Duke and his property.

The Duke's Chicken, which has become somewhat of a local celebrity in recent months, was unharmed in the incident. The Duke declined to comment on the matter, but sources close to him say that he was "deeply disturbed" by the incident and is considering increasing security measures around his palace.

Ramont́i announces Tuesday vote on budget proposal
Author: Benë Andreasi
Thursday, May 4, 2023

Tamara - In a bid to break the deadlock and prevent the dissolution of the parliament, Chairman of Parliament, Žaḱob Ramont́i, has announced that a vote on the budget proposal will take place next Tuesday.

Ramont́i made the announcement after discussions with leaders of the coalition parties, which have been deadlocked over key budgetary issues. The budget proposal, which includes allocations for the general funding of the government for the next year, has been a contentious issue between the United Alliance and the New Socialists.

The United Alliance has been pushing for increased funding for defense and infrastructure, while the New Socialists have been advocating for more investment in education and healthcare. The Social Democratic Party and the Farmers' and Greens' Union have been working to find a compromise between the two parties.

Ramont́i expressed confidence that the parliament will be able to pass the budget proposal, which he believes strikes a balance between the needs of the different parties and the country's overall budgetary situation.

"I believe that we have a proposal that will satisfy the different parties and address the needs of our country. We cannot afford to continue with this impasse, and I urge all members of parliament to vote in favor of this budget proposal," Ramont́i said.

The announcement of the vote has been welcomed by many, including President Simon Aioviḱara, who had warned of the possibility of early elections if the parliament failed to pass a budget.

"I am pleased to hear that Chairman Ramont́i has announced a vote on the budget proposal. It is important that we have a budget in place to ensure the proper management of our finances and the provision of essential services to our citizens," Aioviḱara said in a statement.

The vote is expected to be closely watched by both the coalition parties and the opposition, who have been able to pass their budget proposals despite not being in power. The outcome of the vote will have significant implications for the political landscape in Agausia, and the future of the coalition government.

Today the National Parliament voted against a bill by a representative of the SDF (Social Democratic Front), the representative in question is former lawyer Oleksey Rafal. the bill in question dealt with a change in the legal age of majority from 18 to 20 years, according to the bill's proponent: "this change will give more time for young people to prepare for adult life and will ensure that young people are more mature when they are legally recognized as adults". the bill would not affect other related issues such as the minimum voting age or drug consumption. Until 1985 the age of majority in Zakrya was set at 20, however Parliament under pressure from Dalasy Zoy I at the time changed the law to conform to international standards.
the final result of the vote was 109 votes against,58 in favor and 3 abstentions.

"Panji Kuning" flutters majestically all over the city of Santubong

SANTUBONG-In conjunction with the birthday of His Majesty Tuanku Seri Baginda Sultan & Yang Dipertuan Negara Sarawak Darulhana which will be celebrated on 20 May 2023, the Santubong Municipal Council took the opportunity to fly the official national flag "Panji Yellow", the flag of the royal family and the flag of the nobles throughout the city Santubong.
The Mayor of Santubong said through DHN, the Municipal Council instructed the Local Enforcement Authority (PBT) to hang flags on all famous streets in Santubong such as Jalan Sultan Tengah, Jalan Merpati Jepang, Jalan Sejinjang, Jalan Surya Kesuma, Jalan Pantai Damai, Jalan Semariang and Bako-Selabat

The Sultan's palace is located on Jalan Sultan Tengah, and the important premises of the government are located in this nearby area, which makes us, the people of Santubong feel "privileged" because our king still resides in our town. So, I want to celebrate the birth of the Sultan with a soul full of patriotism

since May 1, the beating of the royal drum known as "Gendang Si-Duli" is beaten after Isyak at Menara Istana as a symbol of the reign of the Ibrahim Dynasty. The beating will be stopped when it is even May 31.

yesterday, the sound of Nobat sounded after His Majesty the Sultan arrived at the Tomb of the Middle Sultan to attend the Tahlil ceremony with representatives from Brunei Darussalam and also representatives from the Autonomous Region of Sambas.

The Nobat is believed to symbolize the sovereignty of a sultan and further elevate the position of the sultan in the Malay community not only from the way these instruments are played instills fear in the people - the louder the nobat music is played, the greater the sultan's sovereignty - but also how the instruments are controlled and cared for
..

Santubong Municipal Council is also expected to hold a meeting with members of the Palace Committee to discuss the protocol and procedures that will be carried out to ensure that the celebration of the Sultan's birthday is celebrated without any problems or obstacles. DHNews will also work with other broadcasting agencies to ensure live broadcasts from Santubong will reach all the people of Sarawak Darulhana from Tanjong Datu to Limbang

Cinco de Mayo Celebrates Atzlano Heritage
Albuquerque, Mexico
Published On: 5 May 2023 | Authored By: Alejandro Nunez

An extended weekend of parades, festivals, and feasts commenced today as Amauritans across the nation observe Cinco de Mayo, the traditional holiday that celebrates Atzlano contributions to the Federated United States of Amaurita.
Image
Celebrations honoring Atzlano-Amauritan contributions
to Amaurita will take place across the nation.

Under the Recognition of Atzlano Amauritan Contributions Act, a bill that was enacted in late 2022, Cinco De Mayo is a Federally recognized Holiday, meaning that government offices, banks, schools, and many workplaces will close down in observance of the holiday. The Recognition of Atzlano Amauritan Contributions Act passed with nearly universal support in both the Senate and Parliament of Representatives before being enthusiastically signed by President Vukovich on January 2nd 2023, in a uniquely celebratory conference in Albuquerque, Mexico. The 2023 Cinco De Mayo Holiday is set to be one of the most extravagant yet, with festivals occurring across the nation from Alderney to Columbia to San Pedro. The annual Cinco De Mayo at the Presidential Manor in Columbia, hosted by President Vukovich and President of Congress Ramirez, is to be hosted on the Manor’s South Lawn between 12:00 and 16:30 on Friday, 5 May, as well as 12:00 to 18:00 on Saturday, 6 May, taking advantage of the holiday weekend’s beautiful weather.

As of 2023, well over 5.2% of the Amauritan population reported to be solely of Atzlano descent, and an additional 6.8% of the population reported to be of partial Atzlano descent. The Atzlano-Amauritan community, overall, encompasses nearly one in every eight Amauritans, or well over 57.7 million citizens of the nation. The majority of Atzlano-Amauritans are concentrated in the States that border Atzlana in the Southwest, such as the States of Mariposa, Arisona, Colorado, Mexico, and Texas. Atzlano-Amauritan communities have sprung up in major metropolitan regions all over the nation, including the Northeast, the Great Lakes, the Pacific Northwest. The Atzlano-Amauritan population in the Federated United States has made significant contributions to Amaurita’s culture, enhancing cuisine, music, literature, and many other aspects of life in the Federated United States. As of 2023, Atzlana is one of the largest sources of immigrants to the Federated United States, with Atzlana being one of the most popular destinations for Amauritan emigrants. This, coupled with the recent opening of the Rio Bravo Corridor High Speed Railway, has allowed for further integration between the Federated United States and Atzlana.

Today, May 5, 2022, the National Parliament approved a national minimum wage.
since zakryan independence, there has never been a need for the zakryan government to set a minimum wage, the zakryan system has always consisted of free negotiations between employer and employee, throughout this period things have worked out reasonably well, with the vast majority of zakryans earning high salaries and few cases of abuse being registered in the work environment. however, in the last 6 years there has been an "explosion" of cases of abuse and offers of almost "slavery" wages, with that a group of workers in the food industry petitioned Parliament demanding the creation of a national minimum wage in order to end conditions "sub-human" jobs, such a project was filed by the Social Democratic representative Eduard Beker. in the end, the proposal was approved by the small margin of 88 votes in favor, 56 votes against and 29 abstentions.

Aioviḱara set to attend coronation of Charles III
Author: Sergei Sarkisasi
Friday, May 5, 2023

Tamara - Agausian President Simon Aioviḱara is set to attend the coronation of King Charles III in the United Kingdom on May 6th, in what is expected to be a grand and historic event. The coronation will mark the ascension of King Charles III to the throne after the reign of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The coronation will take place at Westminster Abbey in London, the same location where Queen Elizabeth II was crowned over a century ago. The ceremony will be a monumental affair, with many foreign dignitaries and representatives from various nations in attendance.

In a statement, President Aioviḱara expressed his excitement and anticipation for the event, saying, "I am honored to attend the coronation of King Charles and witness this historic moment for the United Kingdom. This is an important occasion for our two nations, and I look forward to strengthening our bonds of friendship and cooperation in the years to come."

The president's decision to attend the coronation has not been without controversy. Some in Agausia have criticized the president for leaving the country at a time when the government is facing a severe budget crisis, with the Agausian Parliament failing to pass a budget since February.

Despite the criticism, President Aioviḱara has defended his decision, stating that attending the coronation is an important diplomatic opportunity to strengthen ties with the United Kingdom and other nations. He has also emphasized that he will continue to work closely with his government officials remotely and ensure that the country's affairs are being managed appropriately in his absence.

"Siti": DHN artifivial intelligence (AI) anchors

DHN (Darulhana Network), a popular television network based in Sarawak Darulhana, has announced that it has started using artificial intelligence (AI) anchors which known as "Siti" for its news broadcasts. This has been implemented as part of the network's efforts to modernize and streamline its news delivery system.

The AI anchors are designed to deliver news in a more efficient and effective manner than human anchors. They are capable of delivering news 24/7, without the need for breaks or sleep. The AI anchors are trained to follow the latest news updates and present them in a clear and concise manner.

DHN's decision to adopt AI anchors has been met with mixed reactions from viewers. Some viewers have welcomed the move, saying that it provides them with timely and reliable news updates, while others have expressed concerns over the potential loss of employment for human anchors.

Despite the controversies, DHN's management has confirmed that the transition to AI anchors is just the first step in a wider digital transformation strategy. The network intends to continue to invest in technology and innovation to provide the best possible news coverage to its viewers.

South Sarawak expanded military operations, provocation on the sovereignty of Sarawak Darulhana

South Sarawak, has been reported to have escalated their operations against Sarawak Darulhana. This move has triggered fears of provocation and conflict over the sovereignty of Sarawak Darulhana.

Members of the group have been reported to have been carrying out military exercises near the border between Sarawak Darulhana and South Sarawak, which the government of Sarawak Darulhana has condemned as an act of aggression and provocation. The government has strongly warned the group against any further escalation, stating that any such actions will be met with the full force of the law.

Meanwhile, South Sarawak has dismissed the government's warning, stating that they have the right to defend themselves from perceived threats to their autonomy and way of life. The group has also made it clear that they will not be willing to negotiate with the government until their demands for autonomy and self-determination are met.

The situation between Sarawak Darulhana and South Sarawak remains tense, with both sides preparing for a potential conflict. The Brunei and Indonesia government has called to be an "intermediary" to restore their relationship and has urged both sides to resolve their differences through diplomatic means. However, with tensions continuing to rise, it remains to be seen whether diplomacy will be able to prevent a full-blown conflict.

Nebisḱopa selected as next university rector
Author: Sepan Et́aṕikevli
Monday, May 8, 2023

Image

Tamara - After an eight-month search the Ministry of Education Culture, research and sports has finally announced the next Rector of Tamara University of Business and Agriculture. Former Prime Minister Aṕolona Nebisḱopa has accepted the position after being announced as one of three finalists in April. Current rector Mart́in Ramont́i announced his departure from the university at the start of the term last September.

Ramont́i has served in his position since 2010, when he took over for current president, Simon Aioviḱara. At the time, Aioviḱara had to step down from the position to accept the nomination as Minister of Education Culture, research and sports.

Nebisḱopa and Aioviḱara have a long and intertwined history. Both served as ministers in Osḱar Ṕet́opi cabinet - Nebisḱopa as minister of foreign affairs, and Aioviḱara as minister of education. When Aioviḱara was elected president in 2017 he selected Nebisḱopa as his prime minster. The two were also members of parliament, although in different session.

Now it looks as though the former PM will following the President's path and serve as rector of Tamara University of Business and Agriculture.

Having both a prolific political career and educational career, having attended Žanžǵava University in Tamara and the University of Bucharest in Romania, Aṕolona Nebisḱopa was a formidable candidate.

Despite this fact her appointment has not come without controversy. Of the three candidates who were identified as finalists Nebisḱopa was the only one who did not hold a doctorate. Critics, both in academia and not, have called this move a clear sign of nepotism from the government.

In Agausia the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Sports plays a highly centralized role in all functions of schools, including the selection process for the rectors of the county's public university system. The ministry has announced that long time professor Mûamedi Riščeni will act as interim president from 26 May till 1 September 2023.

Agausia celebrates Victory Europe Day
Author: T́anâ Amkvevi
Tuesday, May 9, 2023

Image

Odssa - In commemoration of the end of World War II in Europe, Agausia will be holding Victory Europe Day celebrations on May 9th. This historic day marks the momentous occasion when Nazi Germany officially surrendered to Allied forces, bringing an end to the war in Europe.

Agausia, a small country in Eastern Europe, has a rich history of involvement in World War II. Despite not being occupied by Nazi Germany, the country and its people fought valiantly against the occupation of Soviet land. Victory Europe Day celebrations will not only serve as a reminder of the end of the war, but also as a tribute to the sacrifices made by Agausians and all those who fought against tyranny and oppression.

Unlike Russia, Agausia's Victory Europe Day celebrations are not focused on military parades or propaganda-filled speeches. Instead, they pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for freedom and celebrate the enduring human spirit.

Speaking at Gamaržvebis Goraḱi, or Agausia's WWII monument and home to the tomb of the unnamed solider, Agausian President, Simon Aioviḱara, stated, “This day serves as a reminder of the bravery and sacrifice of our ancestors and the men and women who fought to protect our freedom and way of life. It is important that we continue to honor and remember their contributions.”

Agausia is committed to promoting peace and unity and maintaining stability in the region, while Russia's recent actions have raised tensions with neighboring countries. The Victory Europe Day celebrations serve as a reminder of the importance of valuing freedom and democracy, values that Agausia holds dear.

Clown Union will strike

The Collective Indepdent and Respectable Council of Unionized Interactive Showmen, or C.I.R.C.U.I.S., has voted this afternoon to go on strike nationwide after failing to reach a new deal with Koomba Carnival Inc over sick leave and health benefits. C.I.R.C.U.I.S. president John Chansler released a statement to B.N.T. reading "despite good faith efforts on the part of clowns nationwide, the big circuis industry has failed to give the employees who power their carnivals the benefits long desired by all of our members. As such, we will now be forced to resort to more direct and confrontational methods to achieve sick leave and healthcare for the men and women within our industry." Koomba has responded with a statement of their own from president Mantel Willson, stating "Koomba carnival Inc cannot provide what the clowns are demanding for the simple fact that we do not pull in enough revenue to go ahead with such a plan. Last year we received $1000 in total from shows nationwide, probably because our country is one of the poorest nations in the carribbean and hasn't been exactly stellar since the last president ran us head on into the ground. We suggest our performers move to a wealthier country like Jamaica if they want to make a living...just if they want to make a living doing anything. People cant even buy food here anymore. Seriously go get a boat and head for anywhere that isn't here."

The strike is expected to begin monday night and last for the foreseeable future.

Agausians call for resignation of health minister

Didibazari - The Agausian Minister of Health, Social and Labor Protections, T́imote Ḱurani (AS), is facing growing calls for his resignation in recent days. This comes after the only medical facility in the commune of Boržomi was forced to close due to staffing shortages. This marks the second medical facility closure in the Kvišebararis region in recent years.

It is increasingly clear that the country has been facing a healthcare crisis for some years. Both the Agausian healthcare system and the county's healthcare facilities are in desperate need of critical updates. There are also major staffing shortages in all sectors from doctors and nurses to janitorial staff.

In 2013 then prime minister Osḱar Ṕet́opi's (SD) government introduced a series of measures aimed at cutting costs across the government's ministries. This was coupled by laws passed by the parliament. Many of these bills were not singed by then opposition President Eduard Avagâni (AL).

This included a measure which allowed for doctors in small villages and communes to both prescribe and distribute medication. In turn, this allowed for the government to shut down many pharmacies across the country in an effort to cut costs.

Minister Ḱurani has defended the move saying that keeping understaffed facilities raises a considerable threat to public health, and that Agausian taxpayers should not have to shoulder the burden of paying for empty buildings.

Ḱurani's predecessors, under former PM Nebisḱopa (SD), developed a comprehensive schedule for doctors and medical staff to travel around the country to staff small offices in villages and communes. However, Ḱurani, under PM Ermolai (SD), has deemed maneuvers too costly.

The nearly nine hundred residents of Boržomi will now have to travel to the town of Okroр́iriže for medical treatment and to receive prescriptions and medications. The Kvišebararis region's governor Leonard Holubi (AL) expressed his anger at the government's decision. "This government has shown that it does not care about the Agausian people. They would prefer to save mover rather let people receive proper healthcare."

In 2020 a medical facility was forced to close in the commune of Sopi, home about three hundred people. Then PM Aṕolona Nebisḱopa forced the resignation of health minister Mareḱ Ḱovalsḱi (SD). At this time the future of the current health minister is unclear.

PRESIDENT FONSECA CONVICTED IN IMPEACHMENT
El Observador
Alana Carillo
13/5/23

President Danilo Fonseca has been removed from office following his conviction by the Senate during an impeachment trial over alleged violations of the Constitution. A left-wing populist, the former president’s relatively uneventful first term has been overshadowed by his infamous conduct in the last three years. Fonseca faces trial in the Supreme Court for violating articles of the Constitution of El Lazaro, in the Federal Electoral Tribunal (TFE) for election interference, and in two federal appellate courts for corruption. If prosecutors succeed, he will likely be barred from holding any public office and further investigations into the role of Fonseca’s party, the Partido Nacional Revolucionaro, in his alleged crimes; however, only the election interference case (which carries comparatively mild penalties) is applicable to lawmakers. With the legitimate Prime Minister Aldo Moreno being sworn into office soon, Fonseca may be remanded in custody over fears of him presenting a flight risk.

In early 2020, before the incipit novel coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) was recognized as a serious public health concern worldwide, Fonseca declared elections to be delayed pending more information about a potential public health emergency. The Chamber of Deputies ousted Prime Minister Aldo Moreno and suspended the budget of the Federal Electoral Commission (CFE); however, the interim PM Victor Zuleta of the National Action Party (PAN), could not lawfully be nominated as prime minister because he was never recommended by the Senate, nor could the Chamber of Deputies suspend the budget of the CFE as it is an independent agency and not funded by Congress. The Constitutional Court ruled both actions unlawful and overturned them.

By this time, the severity of COVID had led some to consider delaying the elections, but the Senate refused this, regarding it as part of a legislative coup. Evidence released by prosecutors earlier this year depict Fonseca as using campaign funds (not personal income) to procure an election disinformation campaign via the Agevera political advertising firm. Among other claims, social media posts and advertisements suggested voter ID was necessary for voting, that elections were in fact delayed, and that the elections were illegitimate and should be boycotted. Party members were told of the inaccuracy of these supposed “PSAs” while the public as a whole was not. Further, while the PNR and PAN had begun to downplay COVID as a mild illness, the majority of the public was still worried about being infected.

The PNR-PAN alliance gained seats in the Chamber of Deputies, albeit less than were expected, but suffered losses in the Senate. The government’s COVID response was initially uncontroversial, although an alleged PPE graft incident has partially tarnished this view. Discontent due to the so-called fonsecazo (an inexact translation of this would be “Fonsecagate”) brought protests, strikes, and criticism of the government, which, much later in the pandemic, enforced arbitrary anti-government and religious assembly bans inconsistent with lax restrictions on business and pro-government rallies. The refusal of National Guard personnel to act on presidential orders which were perceived as brutal crackdowns, compliance with these orders leading to two major protest massacres, leaked incidents of the Fonseca administration pressuring social media companies into censoring criticism, and alleged cases of divisive ethnic and religious statements from party higher-ups worsened the public’s perception of the Fonseca administration.

After performing poorly in the 2022 legislative elections, the National Revolutionary Party seemingly came out in support of the Russian war effort while pledging neutrality on other occasions alongside the National Action Party, culminating in a series of failed attempts to block aid to Ukraine. Today, the national debate has shifted to the controversy of whether this strongman conduct on the part of Danilo Fonseca was, in fact, criminal. Proponents of his conviction cite the need to uphold the lawful and procedural aspects of liberal democracy, while critics have labeled the charges as hyperbolic and partisan.

Among the most resolute of proponents are those who describe the events as an attempted coup narrowly thwarted by the independent judicial system and advocate for the prosecution of “treason” committed by the former president. While this was initially a fringe view, conversation recordings and messages released to the public last week have been interpreted by some as outlining a plot to permanently suspend elections through the delicate exacerbation of the pandemic and declaration of rule by decree; however, such circumstantial evidence falls short of that which would be needed to pursue charges of treason. Indeed, even many of those who view the fonsecazo as a planned dictatorship do not view this as necessary; the other charges brought against the 67 year old could mean up to decades of prison, permanent disqualification from office, and copious fines.

Without a doubt, the results of the trials will provoke intense debate and mark a turning point in Lazarene politics.
