Columbus Day Celebrates Italian-Amauritans

Columbus Day, a holiday that celebrates the Italian explorer Cristoforo Colombo kicked off this weekend with fairs, festivals, and parades across the United States.

Columbus Day, celebrated on the first Monday of October, is a Federal Holiday that commemorates the legendary navigator Cristoforo Colombo, a Genovese merchant who explored the Columbias on behalf of the Eileanic Crown during the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. Colombo, also known by his anglicized name ‘Columbus,’ was thought to have been the first European to set foot in the Columbias, although this was later disproved when archeological evidence proved that the Vikings had discovered and settled in Hocain several centuries before. Nonetheless, Columbus is still credited with leading the widespread European exploration and settlement of the Western Hemisphere during the Age of Discovery. As such, Columbus has had cities and counties named after him, as well as the capital of the nation, and even the continent on which the nation is located.

In the modern era, Columbus has been widely recognized as a symbol of the contributions made by Italian-Amauritans to the United States. As of writing, approximately thirty million Amauritans claim partial or total Italian ancestry, which comprises nearly six percent of the population of the United States. The majority of the Italian population is concentrated in the northeast and Midwest, although a significant population resides on the west coast and in Flaurita. The Italian-Amauritan population expanded drastically during the end of the 19th century and the start of the 20th century, as part of the larger wave of immigration to the United States from Eastern and Southern Europe during that time period. The United States continues to maintain a positive relationship with Italy, as both nations are member states of the Federation of United Nations.

This year, in honor of Columbus Day, many state fairs are being hosted all over the United States, including the Alderney State Fair in Kowawese and the Jersey State Fair in Lakewood. This Is in addition to the many dozens of local fairs and festivals being held across the United States, from the northeast to Flaurita to downtown Los Santos. Parades honoring the iconic Italian-Amauritans have also taken place across the northeast, celebrating the politicians and artists as well as the electricians and plumbers that have Italian ancestry. The 2022 Italian-Amauritan Heritage Parade, which occurred earlier today in downtown Alderney, was headed by members of the 39th Alderney Infantry Regiment, colloquially known as the Bersaglieri Garibaldi. Named for the iconic Italian hero, the 39th Alderney served in the Civil War as well as the World Wars under the 42nd Infantry Division, and has retained a status as a ceremonial regiment under the United States Army Regimental System.

Agausian authorities on high alert after Kerch Bridge explosion

Tavšesapari - In the early hours on Saturday Agausian, Ukranian, and Russian citizens were awoken by the sound of a large explosion. The source of this explosion was found to be on the road portion of the Crimean Bridge, killing three people. Several fuel cars of a passing railway train also ignited, causing an extensive fire on the parallel rail bridge, and two half-sections of the road bridge collapsed.

Ânna Olënḱa, a shopworker in Tsëkesimagre's waterfront, heard the explosion as she was preparing her shop for a morning rush. "I was cleaning the tables and preparing the outside chairs when all of the sudden there was this thunderous boom. I had no idea what was happening, but I could tell that it was from far in the distance, and I figured it was a result of the Russian invasion."

Within minutes of the explosion the Agausian Naval force and National Border Guard were called and put on high alert. A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence released a statement only a few hours after the reported incident.

Drongonia voted 3rd safest country for tourists - Lonely Planet, airline index

A newly-released index, published by Lonely Planet in collaboration with Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand, Air Drongonia, QANTAS, and several United States airlines, has placed Drongonia on the podium for tourist safety, spanning a range of aspects.

The index, which was released last week factors in the crime safety, general feeling of safety and security, access to healthcare facilities and emergency services, protection against scams and corruption, and accommodation quality for tourists. Each country is scored 0 - 100, with each section totaling up to a maximum of 20 points.

Drongonia, which jumped six places since the index was last updated in January 2020, beat out traditional regional tourism rivals New Zealand and Australia. New Zealand tumbled from seventh in 2020 to fifteenth, with the index's accompanying report detailing an increase in both petty and organised crime in the country. Australia maintained its eighth place spot on the list.

The report noted that Drongonia has "experienced no significant increase or escalation in crime or other unsafe traits since the index was last published", meaning that Drongonia scored a perfect 20 in the Crime Safety index. Overall, Drongonia scored 94/100, being beaten out by only Norway and Aumbura, scoring 96 and 97 of 100 respectively. The overall scores and top ten rankings are listed below:

Trans teen's flag change petition passes 100,000 signatures

Emily Wright, a trans 17 year old from Dunedin, gained overnight fame last week following the sudden viral popularity of her Change.org petition aiming to change the Drongonian flag.

The petition, which was posted on Change.org in early August, has so far seen 100,000 signatures. Emily also created another version of the petition on the Petitions.dg website, where it has gained 20,000 signatures. If any petition reaches 250,000 signatures, it must be discussed in Parliament.

When speaking to TVDG, Wright said that her intentions "were definitely not one hundred percent serious at first" but that she has since "...taken up the cause seriously, with passion and furor." The original Change.org petition was shared by prominent trans streamer Keffals, and went from 800 to 102,104 signatures in just 24 hours. Wright hopes that she can "get in contact with Keffals to make this happen".

Wright says she would prefer the current flag be changed to something not resembling its current form, as it is "a flag built on the colonial rape and murder of the indigenous people of Aotearoa New Zealand", and says "it would be great to have something completely different, but still recognisable as ours."

The flag is a recolour of a flag created in 1999 by graphic designer Kyle Redwood, originally titled "Drongonia in the new millennium".

Renewed missile attacks spark harsh criticism from prominent Ukranian-born MP

Tamara - Multiple missiles hit the Ukranian capital city of Kyiv, and several other major cities, on Monday. Following the strikes Ukranian authorities announced deaths and injuries. Among the Russian targets was a university and a child's playground. The missile strikes were likely a retaliatory measure against Ukraine for the attack on the Kerch Bridge. Saturday's attack on the Kerch Bridge was never confirmed by Ukranian officials.

The attack drew heavy condemnation from politicians from all across the globe. Leaders from the EU, the United States, and others were quick to criticize Russia. The Agausian president condemned the attack through a statement posted on social media. Rubeni Ignat́ovi (AL), a Ukranian-born MP representing district SL-3, took a particularly harsh tone online towards the Russian president.

Ignat́ovi has been a member of the Agausian Parlaiment since 2002 and has been influential in the Agausian Liberal party. Ignat́ovi was born in one of the regions hit on Monday's attack. In his statement online the legislature called [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and his supporters "cowards and failures" and asked, "would Putin be pleased with a burning empire?"

In general, most Agausian politicians have steered away from personal attacks of the Russian president or other specific members of the Russian government. Ignat́ovi's comments are among the many examples of the Agausian government becoming more vocal about their decent of the Russian invasion.

Navy to Bolster Presence in Far East to Counter Soviet Threat

The United States Navy held a press conference at the Naval Base Paloa Harbor today, in which the Navy confirmed that the Amauritan presence in the Far East would be expanded to counter the threat of the Soviet Union’s Pacific Fleet.

The Destroyers of CSG Tripoli

The redeployment of Naval Forces comes as the Soviet Union continues to expand its power projection capabilities in the Pacific, with the expansion of the Soviet Naval Bases in Petropavlovsk and Vladivistok. This is in addition to the expansion of the Soviet Union’s Pacific Fleet. As of tomorrow, an additional Carrier Strike Group will be redeployed from Naval Base Paloa Harbor to Naval Base Yokosuka in Japan. In essence, the Carrier Strike Group is the primary tool used for power projection, as a single carrier strike group wields significant firepower, enough to rival the navies of entire nations. While the Pacific Fleet of the Soviet Union is significantly smaller when compared to the Baltic and Arctic Fleets of the Soviet Navy, it is still a force to be reckoned with.

Carrier Strike Group 26, otherwise known as CSG-26 or Strike Group Tripoli, is spearheaded by its flagship, the U.S.S Tripoli, a Columbia Class Supercarrier. The Tripoli will sail alongside its attached Naval Aviation Group, a wing sized formation comprised of eight hundred personnel and one hundred manned and unmanned aircraft. However, the Tripoli will be accompanied by the Hanover, the Strike Group’s Liberty Class Battleship. The other vessels that are a part of Strike Group Tripoli include the Cruisers Honolulu and Corona; the destroyers Anderson, Damato, and Fitzgerald; the submarine Lionfish; and the Supply Cruiser Mauna Loa. Overall, this means that Strike Group Tripoli will bring ten warships, one hundred aircraft, and eight thousand sailors within striking distance of the forward operating bases of the Soviet Union’s Pacific Fleet.

The U.S.S Tennessee salutes the Departing CSG

While not currently being considered as necessary as of writing, the United States Pacific Fleet had actively discussed deploying additional units to the Far East, including the Surface Group Tennessee. Surface Group Tennessee is currently comprised of the Absaroka Class Battleship Tennessee, alongside the cruisers San Antonio and Saint Theresa; the destroyers Jamison, Brandulek, and Benavides; the submarine Seawolf; and the Supply Cruiser Yellowstone. The decision to deploy the Surface Group was scrapped, however, as it was deemed not necessary unless Soviet Naval Forces continue to expand in the Pacific Theater. However, the Surface Group is stationed at Naval Base Paloa Harbor, meaning that redeployment is not entirely infeasible. Nonetheless, the Navy’s Third Fleet, to which both Groups belong, remains ‘ready and willing’ to redeploy assets in the Pacific Theater.

During exclusive tours of the U.S.S Tennessee and the U.S.S Hanover, Amauritan News Network was permitted limited access of both ships, and managed to get commentary from Chief Petty Officer David Lee, who is currently a Master At Arms aboard the U.S.S Hanover:

”I mean, I think we have what it takes. The Hanover and Tripoli alone are these behemoths of steel and firepower, but when we combine forces with our colleagues aboard the cruisers, and destroyers? We become this steel juggernaut, we're unstoppable. We’ve got enough firepower to sink anything that tries to sink us, you know? If the Soviets want to mess around and try and take us out, their whole fleet is going to be in for a particularly unpleasant fight.”

Amauritan News Network reached out to the commanders of the Hanover for comment, but the Hanover declined to give comment. Commanders of Carrier Strike Group Tripoli and the U.S Third Fleet also declined to comment.

President Mileethus Canisilus appeared in Gyzantia two days ago on October 11th, according to Vice-President Johnson and Anagonian National News reports. Pictures have been seen of the President negotiating with the Kingdom of Sombreland Royal Marines for the release of Dragon Fire Company of the Confederate States Marine Corps. Negotiations were reported as successful and tensions in Gyzantia have since lowered due to the start of a peace conference. It is believed by military analysts that the appearance of President Canisilus spurred on other parties to begin peace negotiations and has since been credited domestically with this achievement.

"The President is safe and preforming his duties of office presently," reported Commodore Leanna Crawford, Naval Supreme Commander in the Gyzantian Theater of Operations. "I cannot go into specifics, but I can however state that he is assisting with peace negotiations."

News of a visible end to the Gyzantian Civil War has sent ripples of joy across Anagonia. Recently, several thousands families were separated when the nation rose its DEFCON level to bring service-members to active duty. Despite major complaints, many of the families relented as they expressed understanding at the Anagonian humanitarian commitment in the Gyzantian TOA. Still, the deployment of active duty personnel and assets did not go completely unchallenged in the halls of the government.

President John S. Faring, the 4th President of the Castillian Federation, has died today on October 13th due to a successful assassination attempt by reportedly disgruntled terrorist elements. He leaves behind a wife and three children due to the tragic event. Vice President Harvey Hershey was sworn in as the 5th President of the Castillian Federation by federal judge while on a presidential plane. The Castillian Federation presently has an active Mutual Friendship Treaty with the Confederate States as well as various other treaties that benefit economic cooperation. Vice President Franklin Johnson had these remarks on the tragic death of President Faring in a press conference today.

"We must remember that President Faring was a normal person, like you or I. National Flags have been ordered to half-mast for a period of 48 hours, as ordered by the Vice President, to express a period of mourning with the Castillian Federation.

"We stand ready to assist the Federation for anything they should require," the Vice President affirmed when asked if the Confederate States would commit military forces to tackle any possible terrorist threat the Federation couldn't handle. "I am to believe at present they have properly addressed the incident, but if we are to find out they require any level of assistance, Anagonia stands ready to assist to its friend and compatriot in the Federation."

"The act of spreading defamation on social media whether in the form of writing or illustration by sharing inaccurate information mixed with provocation and insult can create an unhealthy culture in the community.
"Determining whether a person is right or wrong depends on the acceptance of society, no longer judged through religious sharia," he said.
He said defamation has now become a new norm that is generally accepted, while it reflects the decay of society's morals and needs to be stopped immediately.
Meanwhile, the former Director General of Education Yang Mulia Datu Pehin Alimuddin Mohd Dom was crowned as the Maulidur Rasul Leader of the Melanauan Autonomous Region at this celebration.

President Aioviḱara's second term begins with busy few weeks

Tamara - In September Simon Aioviḱara (SD) made history by becoming the first president to have won a second term. On the 5 October 2022 the 67-year-old Aioviḱara was once again inaugurated as president of Agausia. His inauguration was a small event held at the Palace of Klementina, which is the presidential residence and official office. During the president's inauguration speech, he urged his party and other MPs to find, "comprehensive solutions to Agausia's key issues."

One day after his inauguration the Agausian President was in the Czechian capital of Prague to attend the first European Political Community Summit. During the summit, organized by Frech President Emmauel Macron, the main focus of discussions was in regard to security, the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing energy crisis in Europe. It was also agreed that the following summit will be held in the spring of 2023 in Moldova and would focus on securing key infrastructure. While there Aioviḱara was seen mingling with the several world leaders, including leaders from Poland, Turkey, and Ukraine, among others.

Once back home President Aioviḱara met with other senior officials of the Social Democratic party and held several high-level meetings with ranking members of the Agausian Armed Forces, and the Ministry of Defence. He also held virtual meeting with neighboring countries on how to improve security in the Black Sea region. Russia was not present at any of the events or meetings.

OBITUARY: COLONEL ALEXANDER PETERSON (42 AUR - 106 AUR)

Colonel Alexander Peterson, born in the State of Liberty on February 12th, 42 AUR to Jack and Allison Peterson, died yesterday on Monday, October 17th, 106 AUR. He is survived by his son, James Peterson, currently serving in the Confederate States Military Police as a Trooper, and his wife, Allison Peterson, who is currently serving as a Medical Nurse in the Confederate States Navy. Colonel Peterson volunteered for the Confederate States Marine Corps upon his mandatory required term at the age of 18. Five years ago, Colonel Peterson switched services to the Military Police to be closer to his son and family. He joined the Confederate States Diplomatic Corps and was assigned as the primary Ambassador of Anagonia to the KTO. His death is being reported by the Marine Corps as, "accident due to work related dangers".

Alexander enjoyed many hobbies including spending time with his son playing video games and helping him create applications for ConfedPDA. He typically spent his off time writing or contributing to local news sources. He was a dedicated family man, attempting to place the needs of his family above his work. He was five years away from retirement from the Confederate Military.

The funeral for Colonel Alexander Peterson is expected to be held at Liberty National Military Cemetery. He will be buried with full honors from both the Confederate States Military Police and the Confederate States Marine Corps. Family and friends of the Petersons are encouraged to contact Allison Peterson for more information.

PM's leaked memo ponders name change to "Nationalist Party of Drongonia"

An internal memo sent out to National Party MPs by Prime Minister English was leaked yesterday, in which he asks the party's members to consider the idea of a name change.

The memo suggests a change to the party's official name, registered with the DEC. Currently, the party is registered as "National Party of Drongonia", better known simply as National. The memo suggests the name become "Nationalist Party of Drongonia" or the "Drongonian Nationalist Party".

Political analysts have speculated that the move could be part of a plan by Prime Minister English and some members of his cabinet to move the party further right before the 2024 election. National has already been making inroads with People's Front voters, with the latest TVDG poll showing that the increase in National's support almost identically mirrored the loss of voters for People's Front.

In the poll, conducted by TVDG news in July 2022, National was the preferred party of 52.6% of the respondents. This figure would allow for National and English to rule virtually uncontested, no longer requiring the support of traditional Libertarian allies. The result has the potential, if translated to electoral victory in 2024, to relegate People's Front to the opposition benches.

Left-wing pundits widely fear English could become the region's Jair Bolsonaro or Viktor Orban. Just days ago, English was praised by FOX News' Tucker Carlson as being "one of the only leaders in the world, among those others [Bolsonaro and Orban] appealing to common sense and the rights of man." English also sang the praises of the widely controversial Public Safety Act on FUX News' Today Tonight show, dismissing concerns that it suppressed democratic voices.

Prime Minister English was not available for comment regarding the memo.

Gas prices up from one year ago but report down from last quarter

Tamara - On Wednesday the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure and Development, in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Food Policy, released their quarterly report on energy usage and pricing in Agausia. This report, published four times per year, offers officials inside and outside of Agausia a snapshot of the current energy situation inside of the small Black Sea state. The report was met with mixed results. Some hailed the government's commitment to curb back usage and keep prices steady as the war rages in Ukraine. Others however see the government's efforts as ineffective and nothing but a political show.

A spokesperson for Agausian Prime Minister Aṕolona Nebisḱopa contributed the lower prices to rationing measures that were introduced in March, a continued investment in the diversification of the Agausian energy sector, and other "price reducing measures." Members of the opposition have shamed government officials on their inability to tackle the greater cost of living crisis and have cited that prices are still above average.

The data appeared to show that government's measures to reduce natural gas consumption during the warmer months were highly successful. The fuel rations have in turn, led to lower prices now that the winter months are on the way. In this quarter petrol, on average, was priced at 1.414 euros per litre, down from 1.675 from last quarter. A year ago, gas prices were reported about around 0.750 euros per litre. At the same time the Agausian government reported that the stock of fuel reserves are at nearly 60% capacity.

Unlike many other Eastern European countries Agausia does not regularly see tempters drop below the freezing point. Agausian officials are hoping for a more temperate winter so that they can continue to diversify their energy markets and fill the nation's reserves. In recent years Agausian officials have met with their counterparts in Turkey over 15 times to discuss closer ties in regards to energy dependencies. Agausia has also been exploring energy markets in the Middle East and elsewhere to both lower prices and cut their dependency on Russian oil and gas.

No compromise of members involved in crime, violation of discipline - ATDSD

KUCHING:The Royal Sarawak Darulhana Armed Forces (ATDSD) confirmed that 20 of its members were investigated by the police in relation to two robbery cases in Lahad Datu, Sabah Province on 15 and 18 Safar.
ATDSD Commander Datu Amar Jeneral Tan Sri Prajurit Negara Abdul Hamid Azim said ATDSD will cooperate and submit the investigation fully to the police (Royal Sarawak Darulhana Police).
He insisted that ATDSD does not compromise with any party in issues involving any crime or disciplinary violation, especially among ATDSD members(the soldier which serviced for country).
"This insistence is important because it can tarnish the image of our largest military force as an organization that upholds the concept of integrity in carrying out the tasks entrusted to it.
"All parties are also requested not to make any speculations or statements that could interfere with the investigation process of the case,"he said in a statement today.
Yesterday, National Defense Minister Datu Amar Haji Panglima Negara Seri Abdul Halim Nuruddin in his written answer at the Military Conference Hall said that 20 military personnel were arrested on suspicion of being involved in two robbery cases on the Sabah coast near Lahad Datu.
Both cases are investigated according to Section 871 of the Code of Moral Offenses, which is the offense of group robbery and if found guilty, the suspect will have both hands cut off according to Hudud law and a fine of $70 thousand.

BREAKING: DEC inquiry finds People's Front funded illegally, MPs jobs "will be put on the line" - DEC Commissioner

A report, released by the Drongonian Electoral Commission earlier this evening, has detailed how initial investigations have found that "upwards of 60% of the funding of People's Front's 2020 General Election funding was funneled through shell companies, largely originating in Cancolastan and Norcott."

The report details that almost $1.5m was donated to the party illegally, which represented 62.7% of the party's total campaign and media budget in 2020. Under electoral law, individuals may donate a maximum of $10,000 to any political party or party-controlled entity per calendar year, or $1,000 if the individual wishes to remain anonymous. The illegality of the donations stems from the fact that certain individuals, who owned multiple businsses, made prolific donations totalling more than $300,000 in some cases. Current law states that only one business may donate per individual.

Official Information Act requests made by TVDG have revealed that both the party's Treasurer and Secretary have been interviewed by Police, although details are scant due to the ongoing nature of the investigation. DEC Commissioner Tim Johnston also warned in an interview with TVDG that "Members of Parliament may not be directly implicated, but it's likely their jobs will be put on the line." Generally speaking under electoral law, Members of Parliament are shielded from legal investigation during their term unless the Speaker of the House stipulates otherwise.

Under current electoral law, any party found to have participated in electoral funding fraud may be liable to have as many as 75% of its seats "re-contested", a process which results in a by-election in each of the seat's electorates, where currently serving Members of Parliament belonging to the party are ineligible to enter. In such a situation, the party in question is permitted to stand new candidates for election, however. In addition, party executives, including the Parliamentary leader, may be barred from engaging in political activity on an official representative basis for up to ten years.

Should this process commence, People's Front could lose up to three of its four seats, leaving the governing coalition with just 61, otherwise known as a "bare majority", significantly weakening their ability to govern. Experts have been quick to note, however, that it is more than likely at least one of the seats would elect a National MP, leaving the Government with more options.

Deputy Prime Minister Baker refused to comment on the matter.

Requests made under the Official Information Act by members of the self-described "social democratic" Centre Union political party have revealed that their members, along with members of other left-aligned groups, were monitored for more than two years by multiple arms of Drongonia's governmental intelligence network.

Documents declassified as part of the request detail how agents from the Drongonian Security and Intelligence Service (DSIS) and the Digital Security Surveillance Bureau (DSSB) monitored both online and in-person communications between private individuals involved in the groups, as well as monitoring physical meetings, as well as those made over Voice-over-IP (VoIP) platforms.

TVDG understands that agents acting under the jurisdiction of the DSSB successfully performed targeted account-based attacks, otherwise known as "spear-phishing", to gain the login credentials for Discord, Twitter and Email accounts of the as yet unnamed "communist" leader of a "Marxist-Leninist" group, Workers Solidarity Drongonia. It has not been detailed within the documents what the specific aim of obtaining the credentials was.

Members of the Centre Union political party were surveilled during a multiple campaign rallies for the party's leader Lucas Milne, who stood for election in the North Christchurch electorate in 2020. Milne scored <0.1% of the electorate's votes in the 2020 General Election. Documents indicate that listening devices were placed in locations where the party's members were meeting prior to the rally. The meeting and rally were held in a Christchurch City Council owned park, so it is unclear whether the agencies obtained permission from the City Council.

When asked, Christchurch City Council released a statement that read: "CCC [Christchurch City Council] values both freedom of speech and the right to privacy while using our facilities. In this specific instance, we are unable to comment on the actions of outside agencies on CCC property."

Documents detailed that the surveillance of the aforementioned groups was at its height during the public protests against the proposed "White Drongonia" legislation and the Public Safety Act, the latter of which was passed into law late last year. During this time, both agencies were estimated to have been engaged in the "low intensity" monitoring upwards of 1,000 individuals, with a further 165 being "closely monitored".

Within the documents, Government lawyers representing the DSSB detailed how the surveillance was conducted pursuant to the Terrorism Act 2001 initially, and under the Public Safety Act 2021.

It is not directly disclosed whether surveillance on these or other groups is ongoing.

President Friece Criticizes Drongonian Politics: "I don't like where it's going"

Following allegations made by Drongonia's Centre Union political party against the Drongonian Security and Intelligence Service (DSIS) and the Digital Security Surveillance Bureau (DSSB), it has been revealed that both agencies monitored and spied on the Centre Union party as well as other left-wing political parties.

Declassified documents have revealed that the DSIS and DSSB monitored both physical and online communications between members of left-wing political parties.

Leaked memos have also revealed that The National Party of Drongonia is pondering a name change to The Nationalist Party of Aumbura.

Following both stories, President Leland Friece provided a statement to FNN criticizing the DSIS and DSSB.

"Drongonia is strongly opposed to the banning of fascist parties, but have no qualms with spying on left wing parties," said Friece. "I'd chuckle if this weren't real life with real consequences and implications. As for the supposed name change, I find it horrid. Nationalism is an illness that feeds into a culture of self-righteousness and unearned superiority. The Drongonian political landscape is a bit of a mess at the moment. I don't like where it's going."

Friece also went on to call upon Prime Minister Bill English to address these issues.

"It is my belief that the Drongonian government as a whole must make an effort to ensure that this sort of surveying can never again take place," said Friece. "Think of all the meddling the DSIS and DSSB may have done that has gone unreported. I also think that Prime Minister English and the National Party should veto their proposed name change."

Across Aumbura, politicians have voiced criticism and support for Friece's comments.

Liberty Party member Kamela Darchev referred to Friece as hypocritical.

"Given Friece's recent censorship of what he brands as "fascist parties", I don't think he has any right to accuse another country of authoritarian action," said Darchev.

Prime Minister Bill English launched a scathing attack on the nation's two largest intelligence agencies after a report exposed that the DSIS and DSSB were involved in surveillance and infiltration of some of Drongonia's most prominent left-aligned groups.

Prime Minister English, who also serves as the Minister for Intelligence Services, was interviewed on TVDG's Breakfast news show this morning, where he slammed the two intelligence agencies involved, calling their behaviour "thuggish political meddling" and "a threat to our democracy". He also claimed to have read the fully declassified versions of the documents released under the Official Information Act request, and called the motives for the surveillance "unhinged", but refused to elaborate as to the reasoning.

English also assured the public that "I, personally, have called a meeting with the heads of these agencies, not in my capacity as the Minister in charge, but as the Prime Minister, to figure out exactly what's gone wrong here." When asked whether Cabinet would consider reducing the agencies' funding, he stopped short of committing, simply stating that "the option is on the table if this sort of behaviour continues."

The Prime Minister's fierce reaction comes after criticism from Aumburan President Leland Friece, who said in a statement to Aumbura's FNN "It is my belief that the Drongonian government as a whole must make an effort to ensure that this sort of surveying can never again take place" and that Prime Minister English should ""Think of all the meddling the DSIS and DSSB may have done that has gone unreported."

Friece also implied that the surveillance may be linked to the recent talk around National's reported name change. Prime Minister English stated during his interview that "I'm not going to entertain that. It's frankly rubbish, and with all due respect to President Friece, he doesn't know how our system works. Our intelligence agencies operate independently from Government mandate. I, as the Minister in charge of them, can't just go and whisper in their ear to follow this person or that person."

The definition of Halal according to the Trade Description (Use of the term "Halal") Order 1975 is as follows:

When this term is used in relation to food in any form whatsoever, in the course of trade or business as an aspect of trade or part of an aspect of trade for food referred to, the term 'Halal', 'Halal Guaranteed' or 'Islamic food' or what -what other terms can be used to indicate or may be understood as meaning to indicate that it is lawful for Muslims to eat and is permitted in their religion as food that is called for eating, therefore must mean the following, that is, food for which any terms used:

Does not originate from or contain any parts or things from animals that are forbidden to Muslims by Islamic law, or animals that are not slaughtered according to Islamic law.
Does not contain any material considered sacred in Islamic law.
Not prepared, processed or manufactured using equipment or utensils that are not free from impurities as defined by Islamic law.
At the stage of preparation, processing or storage, do not come into contact with or keep near any type of food that does not meet the requirements of (s) (a), (b) or (c) or any materials considered sacred by law Islamic law.

Food and Beverage Products
Food and beverage products refer to products made or produced or not products or results or outputs involving food and beverages.

Consumer goods
Consumer goods refer to goods that are not food or drink based; for example cosmetics, clothing and equipment.

Food premises
Food premises refers to buildings and premises where food and beverage business is conducted including restaurants, food courts, commercial kitchens, cafeterias, bakeries, fast food restaurants, canteens, club restaurants / hotels, kiosks, caterers and others.

Slaughter house
Slaughterhouse refers to a place or premises where animals are slaughtered and/or processed.

POLICE INVESTIGATING INDECENT ACTIONS IN THE SURAU

BAU: Police are investigating a viral video showing two local men doing indecent things in a surau in the Bau area.

Bau District Police Chief Supt Ahmad Ridhvan Mohd Noralias b said yesterday he received a report from a 54-year-old local man who is also a bilal at the surau regarding the CCTV footage.

"The police are conducting an investigation to locate the perpetrator in the recording.

"The case is being investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code, which is committing an act of extreme obscenity in a public place which provides for a prison term of up to two years," he said in a statement today.

In the meantime, the police are asking for the cooperation of the public who have any information about the perpetrators in the incident to come forward and help the investigation by contacting Investigating Officer Insp Norhidayah Mohd at 4055363/ 03-31872222.

30 FILM CREW TRAPPED BEHIND GUABBATU 13 SUCCESSFULLY RESCUED

PADAWAN: A total of 30 international film crews who were trapped behind the Gua Batu 13 in Tapang, near here, after the exit of the cave was flooded following heavy rain this afternoon, were safely and successfully brought out.

Padawan District Police Chief, Datuk Mohd Yusman Hussein Basrai, said that the total number of crew involved in filming activities in the area was 80 people and that 30 people were trapped, consisting of local and Malayan citizens.

He said that all trapped victims were successfully rescued by a search and rescue team (SAR) consisting of police and firemen.

"All the victims did not suffer any injuries," he said in a statement tonight.

Mohd Yusman said the Padawan District Police Headquarters received information at 4.10pm about civilians trapped at the back of Gua Batu 13 due to rising water levels.

"A team of members from the Siburan Police Station and Kota Padawan have gone to the scene. The results of the preliminary investigation found that the incident happened during heavy rain that continued since 4 pm. All the victims were trapped because the water rose suddenly to the water channel area in the cave.

"The depth of the water is approximately 1.5 meters. "All the victims involved are the filming crew of a film called 'Elves' from an international company from Malaya that is working on the film," he said

Elderly man dies after hit-and-run in Balai Ringin

KUCHING (Oct 27): A 65-year-old man died after he was believed to be involved in a hit and run accident near Kampung Ensebang Jaya in Balai Ringin around 8pm tonight.
According to a witness, the deceased was walking by the roadside when he was struck by a vehicle which immediately fled the scene.
Paramedics who were called to the scene pronounced him dead.
The DHN News is contacting the police for more details.

Kuching youth who committed gang robbery with guandao, samurai to know fate on Nov 25

KUCHING (Oct 26): A 20-year-old youth, who pleaded guilty to two charges of gang robbery at two separate eateries while armed with a guandao and a samurai sword, will know his fate on Nov 25.
Sessions Court judges Maris Agan and Jason Juga set the date to hear the social report of the young offender.
Maris released the youth offender on $7,000 cash bail with two local sureties, while Jason released him on $10,000 cash bail with $2,000 deposit and two local sureties.
According to the first charge read before Maris, the youth committed gang robbery armed with a guandao along with another man still at large at an eatery in Bandar Baru Samariang, Sultan Tengah Avenue here around 4.20am on Oct 3 this year.
He stole $242.40 belonging to the eatery from the cash register.
For the second charge read before Jason, the youth committed the same offence but armed with a samurai with two other men still at large at an eatery in Moyan, Jalan Batu Kawa around 6.30am on Oct 4 this year.
The two charges were framed under Section 395 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 397 of the same Code, which provides for a jail term of up to 20 years and caning, upon conviction.
DPPs Ruvinasini Pandian and Norshafatihah Nor Azmi handled the prosecution of the first and second cases respectively, while the youth offender was unrepresented by counsel.
The first case was investigated by investigating officer Sgt Major Valentine Peter Kiang.

If We Die Next Week

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Assalamualaikum wbt the readers who are blessed by Allah. A question for all of us. Please answer honestly from our own hearts. If we know next week on Saturday at 3 pm we will die, in this one week how will we worship? What good will we do in the remaining one week?

Allah SWT say in Holy Quran,
Aal-e-Imran 3:145
وَمَا كاَنَ لِنَفْسٍ أن تَمُوتَ الا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ كِتَٰبًا مُؤَجَّلًاۗ وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَاۚ وَسَنَجْزِى
ٱلشّٰكِرِينَ
And (every) living creature will not die except with God's permission, that is, the decree (of death) with a specific time (which has been set by God). And (with that) whoever wants the reward of this world, we give his share of the reward of that world, and whoever wants the reward of the hereafter, we give him his share of the reward of the hereafter; and We will reward those who are grateful.

Do you have an answer my friends? Now we ask ourselves, if we know when we will die and we will do good deeds as answered from our hearts, how do we prepare if we do not know when we will leave this world? Maybe tomorrow, maybe in a moment, maybe after we read this article we will be called by Allah swt.

The word of Allah swt in An-Nahl 16:61,
وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ ٱللّٰهَّ ٱلنَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِم مَّا تَرَكَ عَلَيْهَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَلَٰكِن يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّىۖ فَإذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَـٔخِرُونَ سَاعَةًۖ وَلَايَسْتَقْدِمُونَ

And if God were to torture people because of their cruelty, He would certainly not allow a moving creature to live on the face of the earth; but He gave them a period until a certain time; then when their period comes, they will not be able to ask for it to be delayed for a second nor will they be able to ask for it to be taken first.

So my friends, don't take this death for granted because it will happen at any moment and we must try our best to prepare for it. Do good deeds as much as possible while we are able to do it in this life and avoid as much as possible from committing sins that bring the wrath of Allah swt on us.

It does not mean that we have to leave our life in this world, but we make our life a worship to Allah swt as I wrote in the last article.

The word of Allah swt in Al-e-Imran 3:133,
وَسَارِعُوٓا۟ إلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْارْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

And hasten to (do good deeds to get) forgiveness from your Lord, and (get) heaven whose area is as wide as all the heavens and the earth, which is prepared for the pious;

So my friends, let us hurry in doing good deeds before death invites us at any time and make sure that we do our best to be sincere in the good deeds we do so that the deeds are accepted by Allah swt and not distorted by the devil and the devil . Let's not delay in doing good deeds because we will really regret it later. Let us not be among those who ask Allah swt when death beckons by begging and pleading that death be postponed for a while so that we can do righteous deeds that we used to do when we had time to do them but we are careless and procrastinate or do not do good deeds when there is time that.
The last word from me, may God make us among His servants who are prompt in doing good deeds and righteous deeds and are sincere in those deeds. Our sins are forgiven and we are made of His pious servants and we are admitted to heaven and can meet our lover and messenger Prophet Muhammad SAW. Ask Allah swt earnestly so that Allah swt gives us real sincerity so that our deeds are not in vain.

What is good comes from Allah SWT and what is weak and lacking I ask forgiveness from Allah SWT.

Tougher animal welfare laws, SPCA funding pass through Parliament unanimously

Parliament passed its newest Act into law unanimously in yesterday's sitting.

The Animal Welfare Reform Act 2022 was drafted as a bi-partisan effort between several National and Labour MPs to boost the standards of animal treatment in Drongonia. In all, over 30 Members of Parliament are credited with the Act's creation.

Under the new Act, which largely serves to bolster punishments for offences set out in previous animal welfare legislation, people who "purposely severely neglect or mistreat animals over a prolonged period" may face up to 10 years' prison time, with less serious or one-off offenders facing prison time of up to three years. Those deemed by a judge as "serious repeat offenders" may be jailed for up to 25 years.

Additionally, the legislation allows for $80m per year to be formally donated to the Drongonian Society for the Protection of Animals (SPCA) on behalf of the Ministry for the Environment. Currently, the charity organisation receives no funding from the central Government, instead relying on donations from businesses and individuals to make ends' meet. In the past, Parliament has voted to make one-off donations to the organisation, but this is the first time a donation schedule has ever been set out in legislation.

The legislation stops short, however, of creating a Ministry for the Environment-controlled Department of Animal Welfare, which had been proposed in initial draft documents submitted by Labour MPs. In a report submitted by the Ministry for the Environment, the Ministry recommended against its creation and recommended a funding boost for the SPCA as "the most efficient and effective method of bolstering boots-on-the-ground enforcement of animal welfare legislation". SPCA Enforcement Officers were given equal authority to Police to make seizures of property and animals in 2013.

During the voting period, Members of Parliament cast their votes 120-0 to pass the legislation in the quickest round of voting Parliament has ever seen. As Parliamentary votes are cast digitally, voting times are kept, showing how long each MP takes to vote on a piece of legislation. MPs were allotted 120 minutes to review and vote on the Act, with the final MP, National's Erica Stanford, casting her 'Yes' vote in 6 minutes and 7 seconds.

SPCA National Coordinator Rebecca Price said during a radio interview with TVDG that "...our entire organisation is ecstatic. This is game-changing for us, seriously. Not just the money, but the satisfaction of knowing that when we submit records of animal abuse to the Police, people will be put behind bars." Regarding the funding increase, Price said "$80,000,000 is equal to everything donated to us by the public, it means we can afford a pay rise for our hard-working vets and welfare officers who are out there looking after almost 200,000 animals every year."

It was estimated by the SPCA in August that over 2,000 animal welfare-related arrests were made last year.

The Act also states that the Ministry for the Environment is to complete a "Comprehensive review of the animal welfare of both the Greyhound and Equestrian racing industries before the end of 2025". Minister for the Environment, Caroline Johnson, said during her remarks on the Act that she is "massively looking forward to overseeing the [racing] industry reviews."

Project Ǵrmabmé delayed and over budget

Guzda - The Ǵrmabmé Project, a deep-water port, (nicknamed project deep-link) was first proposed in 2010 by than PM Osḱar Ṕet́opi as a way to alleviate maritime traffic in Agausia's only other deep-water port in the capital. The harbor in Tamara was completed by the soviets in 1958 and has served as the nation's main import and export terminal. On Friday the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure and Development announced that the completion of Project Deep-Link was, yet again, going to be delayed. The ministry also mentioned that the project was over budget but declined to add further details regarding any added costs.

Although first proposed in 2010, construction of the Ǵrmabmé Project did not begin until late 2013. Originally the project was forecasted to be finished in 2019 but was postponed after a corruption scandal rocked the company spearheading construction. After a year of trying to find a new company, the port was scheduled to be finished by early 2024 and was still expected to be on budget.

The project has faced harsh criticisms throughout its construction. In 2016 former president Eduard Avagâni (AL) attempted to cancel the project after a report was published alleging that several high-ranking Social Democratic politicians took kickbacks for providing contracts to certain companies. However, Avagâni and his administration were taken to court for violating the terms of the contract and was ridiculed for acting without concrete evidence. In 2018 the courts sided with the construction companies and ordered that the harbor's construction continuation was legal and should be carried out.

The new completion date for the harbor is set for the spring of 2026. In their announcement the ministry cited logistical issues caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and soaring prices as the main factors in the delay. It must also be noted that back in March, in response to Putin's actions, a Russian construction company hired to help in the construction was fired.
