Image

GUA DALAM:Ayermani will not easily accept refugees but is ready to provide humanitarian aid in an emergency situation, the Ayermani Foreign Affairs Minister,Junaid Mansoor said today.
He said it was not true to say that Ayermani very easily took in foreigners as this was not the policy of the government.

"If the refugee boat comes to our country, we will not allow them to enter, that is the main principle. It is our decision, we don’t accept them just because they are refugees.
"But if they have problems getting food, we give them food, if they do not have enough petrol, we give them petrol, but sail to international waters and other places," he said.
Junaid was replying to a question from reporters on Ayermani's openness in accepting refugees from other countries.
Elaborating further,Junaid said if arrested, the refugees would be placed in a detention camp before they are brought to court and sent back to their country of origin.
The minister was met by reporters after officiating the launch of a government-funded low cost public housing project here.-AYERMANI NEWS AGENCY

MINISTER THREATEN TO PULL OUT TEAM FROM LEAGUE OVER REFEREE'S DECISION
Image

GUA DALAM:Ayermani Rural Development Minister Perkasa Jamal Assan has indicated that Perkasa Boys FC,a club he owns, will not hesitate to pull out from the Ayermani Football League competition if the Football Association of Ayermani (FAA) do not look at their protest over the referee's decisions during the game against Tanah Tinggi United FC.
During the game, referee Abdul Qunnas denied Perkasa Boys’ fourth goal of the night by ruling that Joy Alias was in an offside position, a decision which helped knock the hosts out of the lucrative President's Cup. Abdul also sent off Perkasa Boys' star Uruguayan striker Luis Amaral for questioning the referee’s decision and kicking the ball at an assistant referee.

Anti-riot police shields match officials from missiles thrown by fans as they proceed to the tunnel after the match.

Perkasa, the younger brother of Ayermani President Musa Jamal Assan, was clearly unhappy with the decision and insisted that if the FAA did not take any necessary action,Perkasa Boys may pull themselves out of the league competition this season.
Perkasa, who is also Speaker of the Ayermani Parliament said “I’ve told Perkasa Boys FC management to submit an official protest to the FAA so that they can review last night’s match. The goal was clearly not offside.”Although the game ended with a 3-2 win to Perkasa Boys, it was still not enough for them to qualify as Tanah Tinggi United booked their place in the final on the away goals rule, as the tie ended 4-4 on aggregate.
“The quality of refereeing was not up to the mark and the FAA must look into this issues seriously. The crowd was obviously angered by this decision” added Perkasa.
The controversial ending to the game caused a riot amongst a minority of the 55,000 home fans, as they reportedly damaged public facilities, including setting fire to an ambulance.

Police reportedly detained 55 Perkasa Boys fans who were involved with the riot.Further investigations are currently taking place.-AYERMANI NEWS AGENCY

A STING TO THE TAIL

ImageIII
The TAIL public building.
iiiiiiii
May 21, 2015 on 9 PM, Thursday (Greenwich Time). The government of Tolmakia is suspected of planning to put the nation's semi-autonomous external intelligence agency (the TAIL, or the Tolmakian Agency of Intelligence and Learning) under its full jurisdiction. Though this was never publicly announced, it has been strongly hinted since the past months. A final element that disputably confirms this was a leaked message to an unknown Tommy official, which was sent from Weslan Manny Froyer, the Information Minister.

Since the nation adopted more pacifist policies last year, the government has dramatically curtailed all potentially aggressive or militarily offensive aspects of Tolmakia. This also had the unintended side-effect of exposing the TAIL as the least conforming government agency to the country's new defense policies. However, the agency's autonomy grants it the special privilege to disregard most of these new policies and to continue operating as it has before. So (until now), the government has virtually allowed the TAIL to exploit most of its freedom, all the while treating it as its "most shameless agency."

In Information Minister Weslan Froyer's message, it was stated that another inquiry would be launched into the TAIL to "see what could be done about the TAIL's unnecessary actions." It was added that the nation's government-controlled internal intelligence agency (the RED, or Republican Investigation Department) would be assigned to monitor the actions of the TAIL for an unknown amount of time, "for security purposes." In a final note, the minister remarked that the TAIL was probably "Tolmakia's S.S.," a remark that attracted heated debates on the web.

Though instrumental in the national security system of the state, the TAIL has been known for its exceptional cruelty, and its actions that deviated from the usual Tolmakian behavior. They have been known to make unsuspecting individuals disappear (usually by physically destroying the individual's body and possessions rather inhumanely). They have also tortured, abused, and indiscriminately killed prisoners of war, and manipulated information, all the while repeatedly violating the Tolmakian constitution and the freedom policies of the nation.

Et La Folie Commence!
Brutal Anti-Communist Witch hunt along Cuscatlani - Inyurstan Border
Français|日本語|한국의|English
FBC News | Flardanian Broadcasting Corporation

Report by Akira Haruno

Our next story comes from the Inyursta-Cuscatalan border region. Cuscatlani para militants, known as the Commando Sombre, have captured, tortured and executed Alberto Cassias de la Plata, an individual with links to Commiegate. This news follows and is related to the, Inyursta government leak release of confidential documents by Mr. J.P Lancorda, a former Inyurstan intelligence analyst, and shook Inyurstans to their core to realized that some of their politicians cared little for the good of their country. While some media chose to focus on criticizing the right, SACTO governments, and the Inyursta government, while other media focuses on hunting communist. One has to wonder about the setbacks of the Peresque Administration that are already barely democratic and the risk such an incident involving elected offical poses. A Right-wing Senator Lanson Sãorules attempted to seek asylum in Brytene after being accused of using government funding to hire the services of call girls, and has reportedly been taking into custody near Dyflin, as reported by The Brytscop.

Dirigeant Arata Kasuga had recently released a statement that reads: "Our thoughts and prayers go out to our fellow SACTO allies, the Inyurstan people whose trust were betrayed by some of their elected officials. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to our enemies on the left who have fallen victim or are at risk to crossing paths with Commando Sombre. All beings have the right to due process and a trial. Not to be brutally tortured by para militants. To those who are being hunted if you want to surrender but fear an unjust execution. You may attempt to come to Flardania to turn yourself in. You will undergo a fair trial and you will receive an appropriate punishment that does not consist of torture. Arigatō!

With the latest events spiraling out of control it would seem that the Kasuga administration is attempting positive PR for SACTO and performing the role that the governments of these Para militants should be doing.

Revolutionary Broadcast Board

22/05/15

-Following the deposition of Chancellor Victor Caldwell and the Mycenian State Government, the People's Revolutionary Council has moved to put in place an emergency government, naming James Murphy as Council Chairperson. In a press release, he stated that while "great strides" had been made in recent weeks, fighting in the north of the country would continue to be an "outstanding issue, threatening the smooth transition to socialism".

-The flag of the former Mycenian State flag was lowered for the last time today as the new transitory flag was raised over the Parliament Building.

-A number of arrests have been made after following seizures of assets from the Bank of Mycenia, MBank, DeluxeFinance and Fourth Tower Bank.
A new bank, the People's Mycenian Bank; has been set up in order to continue the process of day to day financial management. Correspondence has been sent to all citizens in the PLA controlled areas in relation to the change.

-A referendum is to be held on the implementation of a New Constitution of Mycenia and the Flag of the Country by June of this year. Correspondence has been sent to citizens informing them of the planned changes to the constitution and the proposed flag designs.

-As of 24th of May, the National Broadcasting Service will come into being. It replaces the State broadcaster 'TVM' which was deemed to be a relic from a backward era. NBS will provide citizens with 3 Television channels, NBS One, NBS News and NBS Sport. However the NBS will be mainly structured around a free internet broadcasting service akin to Netflix or the BBC iPlayer. Box Sets will be made available to all citizens and all television channels will be available live.

Prime Minister Oste Jonang explains why his party supported the DMO Act at a press conference.

Parliament Votes in Favour of Domestic Military Operations Act
The Domestic Military Operations Act became law this morning after the Parliament of New Korongo voted in favour of the opposition-proposed legislation. This new law, first suggested by the leader of the Unriat Lar Jas (United Labour Party), is a response to the shooting of Arb Hodifong which occurred during the missing nuclear weapons crisis in March and severely restricts the use of the Royal Armed Forces in police roles. 444 members of parliament voted in favour of the act, 143 voted against it, and 63 chose to abstain from voting. In a surprising turn of events, more than 200 of the politicians supporting legislation were members of Prime Minister Oste Jonang's Nasingal Jas (National Party). Prior to the vote, many supporters of the United Labour Party and its allies feared that the Domestic Military Operations Act would be quashed by the ruling coalition. According to Jonang, the National Party decided to vote in favour of the act as it was a sensible piece of legislation. “The laws of this nation should not be defined by political rivalry. Nasingal Jas will not oppose a proposed law when it is entirely sensible just because it was proposed by a member of the opposition. We will stand alongside the opposition if the opposition is willing to support the best interests of the Korongolese people.” He said speaking at a press conference held less than an hour after the vote. However, not all members of the National Party seem to believe that the Domestic Military Operations Act is in the best interests of the Korongolese people. 102 members of the party voted against the legislation. Some political commentators have suggested that this could signify the beginning of a power struggle between centrist and right wing members of the National Party. If these commentators are proven correct, Jonang's decision to support the Domestic Military Operations Act may have severe implications during the next elections.

The public response to the passage of the Domestic Military Operations Act has been mixed. Supporters of the extremist Korongo Jas (Korongo Party) began protesting outside parliament at noon, calling for an immediate repeal of the act. "The Royal Armed Forces are our first and last line of defence against foreign aggression. Jonang is a coward and a traitor for supporting the act and the enemies of New Korongo." A demonstrator said to one of our reporters. The protest was also attended by supporters of the National Party who felt betrayed by Jonang's decision to support the Domestic Military Operations Act. A representative of the Korongolese Committee for Peace praised the passage of the legislation during a radio interview this afternoon, arguing that the Royal Armed Forces should only exist as a defensive force. Matthew Gould, the leader of the National Humanitarian Organisation, also announced that his organisation supports the new legislation. However, he did note that it could limit the use of the Royal Armed Forces in domestic humanitarian roles. No conclusive polls concerning the passage of the successful passage of the Domestic Military Operations Act have been released yet.

Supersoniska Bullet Train System To Open

GULDSTEN, OSTERKRONE - Theodore Bergen, CEO of the Northern Kingdom Future Transportation Corporation, commemorates the official opening and commencement of services of the Supersoniska Bullet Train System by cutting a ribbon in Guldsten Station.

"After some one decade, I cannot believe this bullet train system has come into fruition," states Mr. Bergen. "Now, no longer will people need to wait long to travel from one major city to another. And because of this brand new bullet train system, our economy may grow faster."

"Normally, one would think the bullet train would drive the Morgonstjärnan and Aftonstjärnan out of business," says Lennart Samsson, CEO of the Northern Kingdom Transit Corporation, "but we have coordinated with the Northern Kingdom Future Transportation Corporation and they said that we still have our use, as the Supersoniska is limited to major cities. That said, NKFT Corp would also wish for a merger with us."

President Roosevelt pays surprise visit to US troops in Brasilistan!

Image
The Presidential motorcade enroute to the embassy

WRITTEN BY:
Alexander McKinley, Editor-in-Chief

One week afther US special forces freed four hostages President Roosevelt started his two-day visit to Brasilistan. On saturday the President arrived in the morning at the international airport of the Capital city - flying onboard an almost completely unmarked Boeing 787 that belongs to the VIP airliftwing of the US airforce. The first meeting he had on saturday was at the safe compound of the US embassy, where he met with President Jonesville of Brasilistan. Purpose of this meeting: signing an agreement about the Brasilistan armed forces surrendering to US troops on the ground. Later on that day he visited US army soldiers on the ground, sailors of the US navy at sea and NCIB* / NMIB** intelligence officers working from onboard one of the command vessels.

About ten weeks ago four US tourists were abducted by Brasilistan's secret police. The people who had been taken prisoner by secret police were three men and a women. Two males - a same sex couple - and two friends were abducted at the airpoint by masked men with guns - wearing no insignia identifying them as law enforcement or the military. At the airport - on their way back home to the US - they were pulled into several vans. Later that morning the Brasilistan embassy in The Hague informed the State department about them "capturing" four persons who were being accused of "Spreading the illegal LGBT ideology and lifestyle". They and their two friends were also accused of spying.

The ambassador of Brasilistan was summoned to President's Hall to explain his government's actions. During a live press conference, afther his meeting with the ambassador, President Roosevelt publicaly condemned the arrest in the strongest possible terms and demanded their unconditional release from prison. "We warned the ambassador for the consequences it might have if his government does not co-operate with us" the President said. Possible sanctions included but were not limited to financial ones and - if neccesary - a military intervention.

Afther two weeks of failed negotiations at the highest diplomatic level President Roosevelt signed off on a military intervention in Brasilistan. This decission was made because the nation denied the release of our nationals they held "hostage". During those two weeks the US government was also still not able to get into contact with the two couples to provide them with consular and legal counsel - something they had right to in accordance with international legislation. Neither had the two couples been officially charged and arranged in front of a court.

Now the first two weeks tactical airstrikes were carried out by multiple US navy vessels, including two aircraftcarriers with fighterjets onboard. Their targets: military sites in and around the capital city. Unfortunetaly this didn't have the effect the Roosevelt administration had hoped for. Afther that US special forces were sent in to "cut off the snakes head".

During multiple secret operations high ranking military officers with Brasilistan's national defence staff were either captured or killed in action. In the meanwhile the four US nationals were still being held prisoner at an undisclosed location and the government of Brasilistan had not given up, yet. President Roosevelt therefore increased the number of airstrikes on military infrastructure and signed off on several other missions by US special forces.

This ultimetaly lead to the surrender of Brasilistan's armed forces. White flags were seen flying above the capital at government and military buildings. That's when the 101st Airborne division and a reconnaissance division of the Marine corps - about 7000 men strong - were deployed to take over the capital and the surrounding region. That same day the US tourists were freed by special forces from a bunker - down under the Brasilistan central intelligence headquarters. A week prior to this visit they have been flown home and reunited with their families and friends. The President and the first Lady also hosted all four of them and their families, last wednesday, at Gracie Mansion.

Tommorow President Roosevelt and President Jonesville are expected to meet again at the US embassy. The United States will consider to lift trade and other financial sanctions if Brasilistan improves it's Human-. Civil- and Political rights record and if it adheres to international law. More coverage on this visit, tommorow..

A Korongolese citizen in Mebangy-Ityan rushes for cover.

Heavy Snowfall in Central New Korongo
The cities and towns which reside in the mountainous heart of New Korongo have been immobilised by heavy snowfall. Thousands of families in central New Korongo awoke this morning to discover the streets buried beneath thick blanket of snow and ice. Most schools have been closed and many employees who made the journey to their place of employment were turned away as hundreds of businesses closed their doors. More than 25 centimetres of snow has fallen on the capital since it began falling last night and meteorologists across the country predict that it could continue to snow heavily for several days. The people of central New Korongo are not unaccustomed to snow but the level of snowfall recorded in the past twenty four hours is normally seen during the middle of winter, not at the end of May. This has left millions of people fearing heavier snowfall in the coming months and meteorologists are urging local governments to prepare for the worst. "We were certain that a severe winter was going to occur several months ago." Professor Arbi Fekaai, a representative of the National Meteorological Society, said to reporters this morning. "Given the level of snow that has fallen in Mebangy-Ityan and other central urban centres, we can expect almost a metre of snow per day towards the end of June. Coastal regions can also expect snow, though the amount of snowfall will obviously be much lower. Regional and local government institutions must be prepared to support the people as essential services may be cut off." The National Meteorological Society has also advised that citizens of New Korongo should stock up on supplies before it is too late. Prime Minister Oste Jonang, speaking at a press conference at noon, reassured the Korongolese people that the national government would be prepared for any level of snowfall. He also stated that the Royal Armed Forces would be deployed to deliver essential supplies to remote areas if the need arose, even though legal experts fear that this may violate the recently passed Domestic Military Operations Act which aims to restrict the role of military personnel on Korongolese soil.

Fire Ravages Flencer Motorworks' Primary Military Factory

Overnight, a massive fire broke out at the primary military production facility of Tulacia's domestic vehicle producer, Flencer Motorworks, in downtown Tulan. The fire completely destroyed most of the complex, and the only things able to be salvaged were two design blueprints, for a main battle tank and a light tank. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, Flencer is busy converting a civilian car production plant in the port city of Andader to produce these salvaged designs and new ones as they are conceptualised.

The seven convicts in a press release.

Carjackers detained by Lampung Police Department
By Erry Prakasa

Jakarta - A total of seven violent carjackers who often conducts their "operations" in various areas across the province of Lampung, were arrested by the Lampung Regional Police. The local police also confiscated two minivans, firearms and melee weapons belonging to the convicts. They are currently being held at the Regional Police Department until further investigation.

"The convicts chased down a fully-loaded 6-wheeled truck, stopped their cars in the middle of the road to block the truck, and forced the truck's driver to come out with handguns and machetes. He escaped while the convicts fled with the truck," PR Chief of the LPD, Siti Marsiah, stated in a press release. "One of them admitted that he and his friends had done the same crime for more than five times," she continued.

Policemen from the LPD got a phone call from a civilian who witnessed the criminals and were immediately dispatched to the scene. A gunfight ensued between the criminals and the law enforcement, before finally the police shot the truck's tire and slowing it down to a halt at Teuku Umar road.

The carjackers initials were ID, NO, IW, SR (caught during their act), YU, JS, and SH (caught at a cafe). All of them are Lampungese and reside in an apartment in the outskirts of the city of Bandar Lampung.

Quake jolts Southwest Sumba
By Adi R. Wijaya

Jakarta - The Southwest Sumba regency on Sumba Island, East Nusa Tenggara (ENT), was jolted by a 4.2-magnitude quake centered around 130 kilometers southwest of the regency and at a depth of 10 km, at 11:04 AM local time on Thursday (11/6/2015).

“The quake has no potential of triggering a tsunami due to its minor scale. However, we advise residents to remain alert in the event of aftershocks,” ENT capital city Kupang station Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (MCGA) chief Sudaryono told reporters in Kupang on Thursday.

He further said that the quake did not trigger landslides nor tsunamis and only caused slight damage to buildings.

Breaking news from the elusive and mysterious Holy Queendom

Home | News | Analysis | Opinion | Forum

EXCLUSIVE - BRELLACHWATCH TO INTERVIEW DIVINE QUEEN LYTA

BRELLACHWATCH HAS been offered the opportunity to conduct an exclusive interview with the Divine Queen of Brellach, Lyta I, next week.

This publication has been seeking an interview with the Brellachi head of state since its formation, though until now the requests have always been quietly rebuffed by Her Court.

Divine Queen Lyta, though mentioned or quoted in most of the Holy Queendom's diplomatic missives since her accession, has never met with a foreigner in person before, not even other heads of state.

She has never left the country, nor have dignitaries been granted access to her.

Though prior Brellachi rulers have met with foreign dignitaries, Lyta has been secluded from the international stage for most of her reign. It is completely unprecedented for any Divine Queen to allow herself to be interviewed by the media, however.

"[Divine Queen Lyta] seeks to foster understanding with Those of Other Places," Jessina explained. "She feels that this cannot be accomplished by seclusion and mystery."

BrellachWatch has been granted a half-hour audience with the ruler at the Divine Queen's Sanctuary outside Sheoth. Only one reporter may visit, however, and BrellachWatch has selected features editor Jamie Conner for the honour.

"I'm thrilled really," Mr. Conner said. "I've always been a bit of a Brellachiphile - it's what brought me to BrellachWatch after all - so the chance to be the first foreigner to ever meet the Divine Queen herself... I mean, wow. Here's hoping I can pull it off!"

BrellachWatch, as part of its mission statement to improve the world's understanding of the Holy Queendom, has announced that it is willing to accept questions submitted by foreign news agencies, governments, or just curious citizens.

Mr. Conner will select the best questions to include in his interview with the Divine Queen.

Questions can be submitted to editor@brellachwatch.com, or alternatively you can post your submissions in the comments section below.

SUNSAT JOINS THE NATIONAL SPACECRAFT FLEET

ImageIII
Artist's rendition of SUN SHD-4, a.k.a. SUNSaT.
iiiiiiii
June 15, 2015 on 8 AM (Monday). Almost a month past its original launch date, the SUNSaT finally joins Tolmakia's "National Spacecraft Fleet." SUNSaT, also known as the Shun Uvshirvadury, Niar-Enprarid Shular Dilishchufi or "Sun Observatory, Near-Infrared Solar Telescope" was launched aboard a Paravay 2VH expendable launch system, early this morning at 5 AM. It successfully entered geocentric orbit after roughly an hour. The space observatory was originally to be launched in March from the PLOT, but this was cancelled by the local conflict near the launch site. Instead, it was shipped to another site in the Kazakhstan, and launched from there.

Over the span of a decade, the SUNSaT was developed, tried, and its instruments tested. It is to study the sun's features, including its flares, sunspots and corona. Its development and examination phases were finished by late 2014 and early 2015. Unlike the TAAS' previous satellites, the SUNSaT will enter heliocentric orbit, and use infrared equipment. The SUNSaT is expected to enter a sun-synchronous orbit within the month, meanwhile adjusting itself in Earth orbit. It will operate for around 5 to 7 years, until it runs out of coolant liquid. Even then, some of its instruments will continue to operate until the spacecraft is decommissioned.

"Things are looking bright for the TAAS," is all that Deputy Administrator Kathy G. Cameron had to say to the Tolmakian Star Bulletin. With another space observatory to accompany the agency's three other active telescopes, the Konan, Oracle and Thomas; the celebration of the first anniversary for the LUSH, the agency's first moon orbiter and the first Tolmakian spacecraft to orbit another celestial body; and the RED Ares Program over the horizon, with its exploration phase of the Mars mission to begin within a year or five at most - this may be the case.

To add to the deputy administrator's comment, Administrator Timothy Lucas says that "the TAAS' objectives of exploring space are slowly coming true." He says that the agency would be within an arm's reach from putting people into space by less than 5 years, putting people on the moon by 10 years, creating space stations by 15 years, and putting people on other planets by 50 years at most, additionally all the while continuously learning about the solar system, including the sun, and its nearby star neighbors.

Senator Jim(my) Fitzgerald van Buuren

WRITTEN BY:
Alexander McKinley, Editor-in-Chief

The first two candidates who will run for President during next year's election have announced their candidacy. Afther having been in office for eight years, next year, President Jonathan Arthur Roosevelt will leave Gracie Mansion and President's Hall. Today two senators, belonging to the Democratic Party, have announced that they are running for the highest public office in the land. The first candidate to announce his candidacy was Senator Jim Fitzgerald van Buuren and a couple of hours later Senator Bobby Roosevelt also announced his candidacy

A short biography, Senator Jim Fitzgerald van Buuren (41) was born in 1974 and raised in the city of Cape Noordeinde. Afther his graduation from highschool he was able to study International Relations at the prestigious Brooklyn University, thanks to a scholarship program. A year prior to his graduation he had an internship at Senator Hoffmeier's Office, who was a member of the Senate Foreign Relations committee then. Afther his graduation Senator Hoffmeier offered him to stay and gave him a job with his Office.

Afther four years Jim van Buuren tried to run for public office himself, unsuccesfully. Even though he had the support of several Senators, another candidate won the election for his home district's seat in Congress (House of Representatives). Afther he had lost the election he stayed at Senator Hoffmeier's office and became the Senator his Chief of Staff. A year later, at the age of 27, Jim van Buuren announced his candidacy for the Mayor's election of his home city, Cape Noordeinde. This time he won the election and served one five year term in office. During these five years he got himself the popular image of being a typical east coast liberal.

Afther five years in office as Mayor of the city of Cape Noordeinde he ran again for public office, this time for the Senate seat of the State of Cape Noordeinde. Being very well known and popular as the Mayor of the State Capital he also won this election, while only being 33 years old. He got re-elected afther four years at the age of 37. Senator Jim Fitzgerald van Buuren also serves on the Senate Foreign Relations committee.

The second Democratic Candidate who announced his candidacy for the presidential election of next year is Senator Bobby Roosevelt (40). Bobby Roosevelt is, for everybody who didn't already know, the younger brother of President Jonathan Arthur Roosevelt. Like his older brother, Bobby Roosevelt was also born and raised in the city of The Hague. Afther his graduation from highschool, Bobby Roosevelt went to New Amsterdam University's law school.

Four years later he graduated at the age of 22. Thereafther he started working with the District Attorney's Office of New Amsterdam as an assistant district attorney. Five years later, at the age of 27, he got promoted to Chief District Attorney of New Amsterdam, thanks to high conviction rates. Afther three more years, when he was 30, Bobby Roosevelt was asked to become State Attorney General for the State of New Holland in Governor Vanderbilt's second cabinet. At the age of 34 Bobby Roosevelt made his first and succesfull attempt to become Senator for the State of New Amsterdam. He ran as a Democrat and got himself elected with 56% of the popular vote. Four years later he was re-elected for a second term at the age of 38. Senator Bobby Roosevelt is member of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary.

Prime Minister Schuyler Marmish announced today that she intends to make an attempt at the street luge speed record. Dressed in a Kevlar bodysuit, she spoke to reporters at the Tim Hortons across the street from the coconut grove where Parliament meets. She declined to give a specific number but she said she is confident that she can reach a speed "approaching 160 kilometers per hour".

According to the rules of the Fatatatutti Extreme Sports Association, the governing body for street luge, only the raw speed is required to set a record; neither the vertical drop nor the grade are taken into account. Ms. Marmish has chosen a course that begins at pavement end near MacAleskie House and she hopes to achieve maximum speed where the course flattens out about a kilometer from the harbour. She hopes that that will give her sufficient braking time to stop before going off the pier into the harbour, since she is not a swimmer.

Cadets from the Navy's Radar School have agreed to measure the speed at several points along the course using equipment that they have adapted for the purpose. Navy divers and paramedics will also be on hand in case of emergency.

No date has been given for the attempt, though it will probably be at night when traffic is at a minimum.

HEAD DUCK WINS THE RUBBER DUCKY'S PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

A day after winning The Rubber Ducky's presidency, Head Duck told CNN's Joe Smith that he plans to aggressively fight corruption that has recently plagued The Rubber Ducky and go after the root of the nation's unrest.

Head Duck said he'll "rapidly give attention" to curbing violence in the northeast part of The Rubber Ducky, where the terrorist group Goose Liberation Organization (GLO) operates.

By cooperating with neighboring nations The Steel Ducky, Jurassic Ducks, and Duck Dynasty I, he said his administration is confident it will be able to thwart criminals and others contributing to The Rubber Ducky's instability.

Head Duck defeated incumbent Chief Duck by about 2 million votes, according to The Rubber Ducky's Independent Electoral Commission.

The win comes after a long history of military rule, coups and botched attempts at democracy in Duckland's most populous nation.

In an exclusive live interview from Duck City, Head Duck told Smith he was not concerned about reconciling the nation after a divisive campaign.

He said now that he has been elected he will turn his focus to the GLO and "plug holes" in the "corruption infrastructure" in the country.

"A new day and a new Rubber Ducky are upon us," Head Duck said after his win Tuesday. "The victory is the people's victory, and the glory is that of our nation."

Earlier, Chief Duck phoned Head Duck to concede defeat. The outgoing president also offered a written statement to his nation.

"I thank all Duckyians once again for the great opportunity I was given to lead this country, and assure you that I will continue to do my best at the helm of national affairs until the end of my tenure," Chief Duck said.

"I promised the country free and fair elections. I have kept my word."

Head Duck, 42, will be sworn in on June 18, 2015. He will take the helm at a critical time, as The Rubber Ducky grapples with the Goose Liberation Organization, serious economic woes and corruption.

This isn't Head Duck's first time leading The Rubber Ducky, but it's his first time in nearly 2 years.

A military coup brought Head Duck to power in late 1983, closing a brief period of popular rule by Blubber Duck. But Head Duck himself was ousted by another military coup in August 2013.

His presidential win is the result of his twentieth attempt to lead the country since he was ousted less than 2 years ago.

Head Duck is an atheist from The Rubber Ducky's poorer South, while Chief Duck came from a Muslim North that is rich with oil.

Head Duck praised voters for exercising their right peacefully.

"Your vote affirms that you believe The Rubber Ducky's future can be better than what it is today," he said in his statement. "You voted for a return to the past, and now the past has come back."

Head Duck campaigned as a born-again democrat to allay fears about his strict military regime. He stressed that The Rubber Ducky's security needs to be the next government's focus.

His campaign was also fiercely anti-corruption. He ran under the slogan of "new vacuum cleaner," and his supporters were often pictured holding vacuums in the lead-up to the vote.

Despite years of democracy, analysts say, corruption has hindered The Rubber Ducky from building a stable economy.

Air Force to purchase New Equipment
By Erry Prakasa

Jakarta - The Islamic Indonesian National Armed Forces (IINAF), particularly the Air Force branch, has been planning to order newer aircraft and other equipment, since the fleet mostly consists of Cold War era aircraft. Several high-ranking officers announced their intentions of finding the perfect aircraft manufacturer to meet the needs of the air force.

"Our newest available air superiority fighters, the Sukhoi 30, are fifteen years old. We are looking for new ones capable of fulfilling the same role since these antique planes will be decommissioned in three years," stated Air Force Marshal Taufiq Wibowo, on Wednesday (17/6/2015). "Right now we will be visiting some of the greatest military equipment manufacturers abroad. We're expecting new planes in six months."

The Indonesian Air Force was formed in April 1947 as a branch of the National Armed Forces and is responsible for air superiority and defense operations across the Indonesian archipelago.

Goodson Hits Piracy Hard
-----

Prime Minister Hank Goodson has based his foreign policy on protecting Vannish shipping by actively confronting anti-shipping terrorists on several fronts. Goodson has been one of Vangaziland's most active Prime Ministers militarily. The Vannish Navy is deployed in a wider zone of operations than ever before.

The first anti-piracy operations are based at the Svennish Tropical Island Chain. There, Vannish Marines stormed fuel depots that the pirates had been using to illegally fuel their operations. Piracy in the sector has sharply declined since the landing and coalition bombings on the pirate training camp. A Vannish carrier group is deployed here, making it the most significant deployment of the three.

Combat Air Patrols launched from the IVC-53 'Vangaziland' have taken over the skies above major shipping lanes.

Naval action has also stepped up on the Vangaziland-Yohannes shipping lane. Several Naval Squadrons were deployed to escort and patrol zones. Destroyer Squadron Eight is currently engaged in operations with an international task force to secure third world nations along the route. News on this front is still generating.

"We will root out piracy at its cause. This might include investing in a few nations. It may just include more patrols. Time will tell. For now, security is our number one concern", said Prime Minister Goodson. "Vannish shipping is more secure now than ever. As time goes on, it will get even safer."

In a similar mission, the Wrexish Navy from the Vannish Empire's protectorate Wrexwic, have deployed two squadrons of their new Cyclone Class Coastal Patrol Ships. The ships are basically gunboats, armed with twin 25mm cannons and several machine guns ranging from .50 cal to twin 7.62.

Two Patrol Boat Coastal Squadrons from the Wrexish Coastal Navy were deployed east of the Isles of Spada.

With a battle on three fronts, logistics and intelligence are major behind the scenes components to these operations. The Vannish Navy is also handling logistics for the Wrexish Navy. Their missions will range from escort to interdiction.

One of Natminergy's refineries in Borneo, Islamic Indonesia.

National Mining & Energy Company to build a new Refinery?
By Adi R. Wijaya

Jakarta - Natminergy Co. CEO Rachel Azzahra recently announced the state-owned corporation's plans to build a new larger refinery. The company is responsible for Islamic Indonesia's oil, natural gas and minerals production.

"Currently, our (refinery) units produce less than a million barrels of oil per day. With this new refinery, we hope that production will reach a total of one and a half million barrels," she stated to Indonesia Post yesterday (27/6/2015).

The new refinery was planned to be built in West Papua, with a maximum capacity of 500,000 bopd (barrels of oil per day). If the company's executives agree to the plan, construction will start in three months.

Natminergy operates a total of six refineries nation-wide, with the average producing 166,000 bopd. As a rule of thumb, refineries need to produce at least 200,000 bopd in order to reach reasonable international standards of efficiency.

BREAKING NEWS: Three killed in shooting on the Townsend Islands; Rumours of political motives
By Theodorus Pictor (@KINIPictor)
26th June 2015
Image
Vanessa Redd, Personal Liaison to the Governor of the Townsend Islands

Gloucester Barrows, Townsend Islands, Nocturnalya - Three people have been shot dead at Gloucester Barrows on the Townsend Islands this morning in southern Nocturnalya. Two of the victims - Vanessa Redd (pictured) and Commodore James Pronger - were prominent figures in the Townsend administration and Continental Forces of the Evenguard respectively. Once this was confirmed at a press event in the last hour at Cape McMahon with the Governor, Charles Scriver, rumours are mounting that the shooting had underlying political motives. Miss Redd was a vocal supporter of the Civilian Labour Corps model in place on the island, which has notably attracted criticism from the native population since it's inception, despite overwhelming support from administrators both locally and the Azuran mainland.

During the press conference, Governor Scriver stated that the local constabulary was conducting the investigation at the crime scene and further details would be relayed to the media once available. When asked as to whether the attack was politically motivated and what his stance was on terrorism in the Townsend Islands, he refused to directly comment, saying that the media was "reading too much into this" and that "If the facts point to a terrorist attack, then the full materiel resources of my government will be mobilized to deal with the perpetrators." One local columnist, writing for the Cape McMahon Register, whom I spoke to after the conference commented on Governor Scriver's dismissive behaviour, saying that he is probably personally conflicted due to more rumours that he and Miss Redd were romantically involved. Whatever the case, the murder of a close colleague is likely to shake anybodies nerves, in my mind.

The death of Commodore Pronger, too, is bound to cause some issues for the Continental Armed Forces of the Evenguard. While no official comment has been made by the Continental Armed Forces as of yet, Pronger - a naval strategist and tactician who'd spent years of his life in service - was widely respected in his field, and there's no doubt that not only his family and friends, but also his senior officers want answers as to why he was a victim in this attack. His death adds more weight to the rumours that the attack was not just a simple shooting, considering the strained relations between the Continental Armed Forces and the native population of the Townsend Islands in recent years, but for now it's all just rumours until the Townsend administration releases more information as they obtain it.

At the end of the press conference Governor Scriver also mentioned that he and his staff were working closely with their superiors in Kinseleagh, yet there has been no official statement from there as of yet, which suggests that the new Baelfire administration intends to keep it a local issue thus far. If the issue becomes even larger, it'll be their first major test since Calixte's departure and arrival in Kylarnatia almost a year ago. While it's unlikely that a statement will come out of Krytopia in response to this event unless it grows into a wider issue, Baelfire's honorary status as "Friend of Caesar" means that it's likely we can expect the Imperium to back Baelfire in any actions he may have to take.

Following the conference, I made my way to Gloucester Barrows to see if I could find out more. Upon arrival I was denied entry, with the local constabulary enforcing that only the residents of the Barrows could enter for the time being. So, waiting at the small makeshift checkpoint, I attempted to speak with residents while they waited to be allowed to enter as their identification was checked. Some refused to comment, but the ones that did had a varying range of comments. Here are just three of them to give you a feel for the extreme range of views held by the residents:

"When I heard the news a few hours ago I was simply stunned. Gloucester Barrows is generally such a quiet place. I never imagined such a thing would occur here. Yes, it really worries me why such an attack happened against the people it did. Though honestly, I'm mostly worried about the safety of my children now that this has happened." - Female, 28

"It was bound to happen one of these days, I'm not surprised it did. The government has been doing a lot in these isles recently; they're currently doing some dock work of some kind here in the Barrows, so my mates tell me. I bet'ya it had something to do with that. I can't say I've ever been a huge supporter of our government, but I've never been a huge fan of violence neither. Lets just pray this doesn't grow into something much worse." - Male, 63

"So, Vanessa Redd was one of the people who got capped, eh? Well good [expletive] riddance. Pompous [expletive]. I hope that foul system known as the Civilian Labour Corps gets buried with her." - Male, 39

Whatever the motive for the shooting was, it has clearly brought up some underlying issues between the Townsend administration and the native populace. For now people can only hope that this is not as serious as rumours are suggesting it is, and that the individual - or individuals - responsible for carrying out this vicious attack will be brought to justice soon.

The popular television "reality show" Survivor: Fatatatutti ended its twenty-third season this week and still nobody has been voted off the island. On the contrary, with the castaways being joined by family members and wannabes, the population of the island has grown to several thousand and space is at a premium. The Tribal Council has been meeting to try to solve the problem, with suggestions such as colonizing a neighbouring island being discussed.

In related news:
  • production of a planned spin-off, Survivor: Alphonse, has been suspended indefinitely due to a series of unexplained bitings
  • the live feeds from the Big Bruddah house are dominated by the houseguests' production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night
  • fans are outraged that So You Think You Can Hula has been interrupted by breaking news

US SAME-SEX MARRIAGE RULING RE-IGNITES LAREDOAN GOVERNMENT DEBATE

by NAOMI MOL June 29, 2015

Following the ruling of the United States Supreme Court, same-sex marriage is now legal across all fifty states. While many Americans have been rejoicing, there are many others who were highly dissatisfied. Meanwhile, the Syncretic Nationalist Party debates once again on whether or not to allow sam-sex marriage. Laredo has been known to be a gay friendly country, ever since the Syncretic Nationalists came into power. However, not in the way most people would imagine. While Laredo's government recognizes the LGBT community as a protected group, it simply designates them as a "state-approved fetish". Supporters of same-sex marriage within the government have stated that Laredo should follow the examples of Canada and the US. Stephen Sanchez, a high ranking party official, opposes same-sex marriage in Laredo:
"What I think we need to understand [is] that this is about children being raised in proper families. There is absolutely no reason two consenting adults of the same sex cannot have intimate relations, but we need to provide a standard family enviorment for minors to grow properly. Homosexuality is very much an acceptable aspect of adult desire. But it should remain just that. For adults."
President Roy Page has proposed utilizing foreign psychologists and other experts to determine the effects of children being raised by same-sex parents, stating he would rather wait for what facts show before making a final decision.
