Also is the host bid still on?

Yes it is, but I wouldn't reccomend bidding until you've got enough experience in WV to know how the contest goes

Honestly sooo happy to see many familiar names coming back!

I had contemplated sending my Festival dëla Kanžu Kalosianë 2023 winner to this edition but I've decided the contest will ICly take place next weekend (i.e. the Saturday after ESC), so it'd be better logistically to send them to 108. In the meantime I'll decide on something to send for this ed.

BITC Announcement | Doportedas bids to host WV107

OFFICIAL DOCUMENTATION FOR THE HOSTING RIGHTS OF THE 107th WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST IN DOPORTEDAS, BRITONISEA

Britonisea is bidding to to host the 107th edition of the WorldVision Song Contest. The nation has bid a remarkable eleven times before, with each of our bids linked here: 32, 35, 36, 41, 50,51, 56, 57, 66, 81 and 100. Despite having bidded thrice, our capital city has yet to host the competition and this time, we’re determined for Doportedas to welcome fans from across the Multiverse for what is expected to be a fantastic and truly unforgettable edition of the WorldVision Song Contest - we would love to see the D4 bid be Doportedas' successful one.

Image

The official slogan for the upcoming WorldVision Song Contest is Atoller Teuten Vokse which is Britonish for Raise Your Voice! The slogan takes inspiration from the winning entry for the 64th WorldVision Song Contest and Vha Mehlodhivestoile winner, "Cy Ecouto Teuten Vokse" which was sung by Taron Woods. Throughout this bid, it is important that we honour 60 editions since the first ever Vha Mehlodhivestoile entry and so we thought that nodding to this through our slogan and using different elements of the show would be a good idea. It also marks 40 editions since our hosting in Machieveihe and 20 editions since our win with Charlotte Davies - it is a very important edition for us, 107!

Britonisea is a nation within the region of Novapax. Britonisea has a population of 62 million people including Aloquirbe. Britonisea has a total of 38 “Authorities”, which is further split into 451 constituencies. The nation is vast, and located on the Terra Centuria continent of the region with a UTC+1 time zone currently. The country is located on the northern peninsula of the continent, and so is mostly surrounded by water which means that the country’s fishing industry is quite large - with cod, haddock, salmon and mackerel making a huge part of Britonish diet, with the former two likely to be fried, while the latter two smoked or grilled. We will address where to find the best eateries in Doportedas later on in the bid. Britonisea’s capital city is, indeed, Doportedas which is located in the southwest of the country. The country is halved by a mountain range which runs down the spine of the country, which means that the Eastern side of the country tends to be cooler thanks to the rain and air that comes from the colder northern Novapax central ocean, while the Western side of Britonisea benefits from warmer temperatures, which can be rather pleasant for people who live in the Britonish-Wolfrenian Strait. In Britonisea, you’d be able to find a mixture of different climates depending on where you go, making the country a great destination to go for a wide range of experiences. A lot of Britons make domestic flights, and you can tell this by the fact that 278 million journeys were made by air during a normal non-COVID year - which did of course include international flights. The national holiday is on the 27th July every year, which tends to drag in a huge number of tourists interested in the festivities. If Britonisea were to host the competition, it would fall on the 17th July - a mere ten days before Brito Day, but the festivities will begin the weekend before and during the week after the Contest, you will begin to witness the country preparing for the huge event.

Speaking of huge events, aside from the National Concert that Britonisea hosts every year to commemorate Brito Day in the country, the nation knows how to host events like these ones. With the events that have been held in Doportedas being spoken about in more details later on in the bid, Britonisea has hosted the WorldVision Song Contest on five previous occasions and has hosted the World Hit Festival on eight occasions. The country has also hosted a wide range of different events in tennis, football and athletics, while also hosting regional and national multi-sports competitions. The nation will also host the upcoming First IBA Awards, celebrating the Arts around the IBA World and eyes up hosting different competitions to further expand Brand Britonisea across the multiverse.

Just FYI...the exchange rate for Britonisea is 1 NSD/USD is equal to £0.61 BPS.

Doportedas is also a stone's throw away from South Batoko, the most recent hosts of the WorldVision Song Contest! Even though Buaka and Doportedas are close, the two cities are pretty different! Find out more below...

Doportedas (pronounced Du'por-ti-das) is the capital city of Britonisea, home to just over six million people within its urban area making it the most populous city in the country. The city is the financial centre of the nation, providing more for the economy than its rivals Telm City (the city that hosted the 66th WorldVision Song Contest), Quickenden (the city that hosted the 41st WorldVision Song Contest) and Junterapten - with the four cities making up 27% of the country's population alone. Doportedas, similarly to boroughs other cities may have, is split into ten different zones, with smaller local authorities within them - each of which has a population between 130,000 to 250,000 people. Doportedas is also the capital city of its Authority (which is on a similar level to a county or province), which was recently renamed to Dopor in order to avoid confusion with the city and the state. The Dopor Authority is by far the largest one, with over 9 million people residing there - that's a staggering 14% of the Britonish population - we're sure there won't be any empty seats in the arena for the 107th WorldVision Song Contest. For those of you wanting to travel outside the city and explore more of the Authority, you will be treated to places such as St Kings Bay, which is an island city with a location northwest off the Doportedasian coast, Bovingdon which is south of Doportedas and a great place to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life or you can go to Deghnby - a much smaller city with historical landmarks showing the remnants of how Dopor used to be. Doportedas has a fantastic location within Terra Centuria, the name of the continent Britonisea is on, and the perfect location within the wider Novapax region, with Doportedas being dead in the middle. Doportedas lies alongside the Britonish Bay coast, bordering Aloquirbe (which people can enter via an underground road tunnel or by ferry for less than £6 BPS one way), Estogium (near their large cities of Palisadoes and Estogium City) and also Taeseon too.

Doportedas is served by fantastic transport. For delegations that don't have an immediate connection to Britonisea, which is unlikely due to Britonisea's extensive globalisation, using different mediums, you're able to get to Doportedas via Darkmania, South Batoko and Aenglide (two Novapax nations that have hosted the WorldVision Song Contest before), while other regional nations such as Mercedini, Togonistan and Estogium providing reliable and frequent routes to the capital city. Going through the different types of travel, Doportedas is home to not one, not two but three international airports - Aeroporte (pronounced Arrow-port), which members of the WorldVision community might have heard of - the name of the town is called Aeroporte but the name of the airport is also called that too (the full name is Aeroporte International). Aeroporte is the largest airport in the country, boasting three runways and over 60 million passengers per year - the country's most prepared airport for an event as mighty as the centenary edition of the WorldVision Song Contest! Aeroporte isn't alone, however, with Olympia Airport sure to be taking some of the burden of arrivals. You are also able to fly in from Deghnby Airport but that is a much longer ride into the city than the other two options - but it might save you some money. Regardless of which airport you come to, both are fantastically served by ARD and National Rail services. If, for whatever reason, you decide to fly in using an airport outside of Doportedas (perhaps it was cheaper, perhaps your act wanted to check out a different city and have a Britonish road trip), Doportedas is very well connected to the rest of the country with it being a major hub on the Britonish Circular Route meaning you can virtually take a train to any (major) location in the country for a reasonable price. Some of the major stations in the city include Aysledwire International (pronounced Asul-dwire) which is the nearest grand station to Olympia Airport, you've got Centreon Station which is right in the heart of the city and also Juke Royal Station which serves international destinations such as Aloquirbe and Taeseon but is also a connection to St Kings Bay.

Image

It is suggested that Doportedas has a total of 140,000 hotel rooms in the city alone, with many more hotels available in some of the commuter towns lying just outside of the capital which are easily accessible thanks to the fantastic transportation in and out of the city. Similarly to the 100th WorldVision Song Contest bid, the same things you could do in and around Doportedas, you can still do today! Below is a list of things you can do during your trip to Doportedas...

  1. Westonber Beach: Westonber Beach is one of the few beaches in Britonisea, but it is the most well-known and by far the largest beach in Britonisea. As previously explained earlier during the bid, the western side of the country tends to get warmer temperatures from the rest of the continent due to the mountain range which keeps the heat in. Westonber Beach lies upon the Western coastline (as opposed to the northern coastline) and stretches for a couple of miles allowing there to be tens of thousands of different guests at any one time.
  2. Theatre/Music Productions: Doportedas is one of the best places to go to watch great theatrical productions. With hundreds of shows that you could watch - from musical shows, immersive theatre, naturalistic theatre, Brechtian theatre, and pantomimes - you will be in for a right treat. Doportedas, whilst hosting the WorldVision Song Contest, will also still be a hub for music talent from across Britonisea and indeed the Multiverse.
  3. Doportedas’ Great Parks: Doportedas has many parks across the city, some of which are closer in than others, so it depends how far out you’d like to go.
  4. Shop ‘til you drop: There are many different shopping districts in Doportedas, but we know that tourists are going to head to wherever is central.
  5. Guided tour around Doportedas: If you click one of the above links, you are able to find out the guided tours that you will be able to take in Doportedas, with each tour going to different parts of the capital for a set price. Feel free to take a tour on each day that you’re in the capital!
  6. Theme Park: Doportedas has one theme park which was built on the highest hill in the city, meaning you can see the theme park from quite a distance. On some of the larger rides, the position of the Theme Park will provide you with fantastic shots of the skyscrapers which fill the North and Central areas of Doportedas. For those of you who come to the Park on the Saturday of the Grand Final, you will gain entry to the Family-friendly Watch Party.
  7. Dining in the Capital: Doportedas has thousands of restaurants, with cuisines from many of the participating nations of the contest being found in the inner belt of the city alone. Doportedas has 4 Michelin star restaurants, but we are guessing that you’re looking for something a lot less pricey. Doportedas’ portion sizes are large and you can get enough food for what you pay for. Alternatively, if you want to grab a quick bite to eat, there are loads of fast food joints too - there will always be something to eat no matter which road you turn down! Britons in particular do love their chicken and so lots of Britonish cuisine restaurants might tempt you with a menu full of chicken cooked in different ways. Beef is also very popular here. As mentioned earlier, thanks to Britonisea’s position in Novapax, we have great fish too.
  8. Nightlife in Centralis: Are you coming with your friends and leaving the family at home? Well, Doportedas has a lively nightlife, including bars and nightclubs for anyone. We have normal popular music clubs, but Ladies’ Only and Gentlemen Only clubs too - and when considering the WorldVision community, we’re sure the latter will be filled to the brim!
  9. Aloquirbe: There is a tunnel which takes you from Doportedas to Aloquibe City, which is just across the strait and close enough for you to see the skyscrapers there. Aloquirbe Passing is the name of the area and the tunnel which takes you to that city, but you can also take a coach from Juke Royale or ferry if you don’t have your own car. By the way, there are a lot of rental companies in and around Britonisea, but please do remember that you’re driving on the left hand side in our country!
  10. Travel to a commuter town or Bovingdon: Bovingdon is the second-largest urban area on the mainland of Dopor with over 200,000 people living here. Bovingdon hosted the 53rd World Hit Festival and will no doubt be involved in celebrating the 107th WorldVision Song Contest in Doportedas. For WorldVision fans who weren’t able to get into the arena, they will be able to take a train service around 30 minutes from one of the Grand Stations in Doportedas to the site that hosted the 53rd World Hit Festival for a screening of the Contest which will be free for all to attend. Other commuter towns that are likely to have funfairs, screenings and festivals are Deghnby (third largest urban area), Bordertown-on-Sea [BEACH], Prince Rocks [SEAFRONT] and Louislis [MOUNTAINVIEW].
  11. Watch Parties in the Capital: If you don’t want to go to one of the commuter towns to watch the contest, you’re free to go around Doportedas to watch it. While there will be a watch party in the Village, this will be a paid event. We will be having multiple watch parties across the capital that are free in: Barlinedon Tennis Complex, Doportedas Olympic Park, Westonber Beach, Pondsend Park and Mayfair - all of these locations have been marked out on the Doportedas Metro Map. There will also be a watch party in Gullivers’ Amusement Park but this is also a paid event for the usage of the park during the day and is a family-only event.

Mountbatten will play host to the 107th WorldVision Song Contest if the city's bid wins. Mountbatten is a town located in the west of the city, home to around 118,000 people in Zone 6. Mountbatten is quite different from Mayfair, the town that put forward for the Britonish bid at the 100th WorldVision Song Contest, in that it is a little bit more residential than Mayfair is but that doesn't mean sleepy or boring. Mountbatten is home to lush green parks, many of which will play host to watch parties during the 107th WorldVision Song Contest. Mountbatten, while residential, is quite lively, with loads of gigs with local artists and medium-sized theatres where you can immerse yourself into the artistic side of the city. Mountbatten is also home to the famous Mountbatten Square which is a large area with a huge circular (well, square) road going around it with the best and most well-known fashion and food outlets. It was one of the viewing locations had the Doportedas bid won in WorldVision 100 but with Mountbatten now playing host to the competition, it will instead be a smaller WorldVision village where you can buy some official merchandise on your way to the arena. Mountbatten also has a huge host of halls and large areas that delegations are free to book ahead of the contest so that you can rehearse and make sure that you are ready for the show ahead. While we understand that Doportedas is a big city, Mountbatten will make the WorldVision Song Contest feel enclosed, and the wider Zone 6 area has plans to make sure that the borough is WorldVision-ified ahead of the contest. Perhaps your participants can watch their favourite film after a morning of rehearsing, before performing in the local concert hall - right before they head to the official WorldVision village? Britonisea and BITC will pay partly for all delegations to use official coaches emblazoned in the WorldVision Song Contest 107 design and these will be accessible from Olympia Airport, Aeroporte International Airport, Juke Royale Harbour (Sea Travel) or Aysledwire International Train Station straight to Mountbatten.

For fans, Mountbatten is very accessible via our public transport network which is known to be very, very reliable and efficient. You can find Mountbatten on our metro network. Mountbatten is located within the Inner Fare Zone which means that those prices apply and so tourists will need to remember this when travelling to the area. Mountbatten is served by the Circle Line (via Allenswear and also via Stanmore - this line circles around central Doportedas), Charles Line (which goes from the Harbour to Norditon in the South of the city), Bromedam Line (which goes to Mayfair and New Amsterdam) and SouthWestern Line (which goes everywhere in the South and West). How to get to Mountbatten using the Metro? Juke Royale is the main harbour of the city which is also to the west. For those of you travelling to a nearby city in Estogium's Palisadoes, Aloquirbe's Nordeen or Aloquirbe City or Taeseon and then ferrying it to Doportedas (which is fairly cheap and actually might save you some money - thank us later!), it is a straight-forward journey to Mountbatten - six stops on the Charles Line (aka the Grey Line) and you're there! From Olympia Airport, you can take the Finance Line to Gare du Nord (around 3 stops) before switching to either the Circle Line or Bromedam Line - they just get to Mountbatten using different routes). From our main airport, Aeroporte, we recommend taking the ARD (Similar to the RER in Paris or Elizabeth Line in London - but its a double-decker train that rips through the centre of the city and goes to regional areas in the wider Dopor region) to Expo Arena Ave and then switching to the Circle Line or the Mayfair Line to Kingsland where you can take either the Charles or Southwestern Lines (though the latter takes the scenic route!). The Opening Ceremony will take place in Saintlake - spoken about in more detail below - which is only four stops away from Mountbatten, with the Official WorldVision Village happening in Park Bromedine - Doportedas' largest park - which is two stops away and accessible on three of Mountbatten's four metro lines (fans can get off at Bromedine and walk 10 minutes to Park Promedine's entrance for the WorldVision Village instead of getting off at Park Bromedine) - the route will be clearly signposted and there will be WorldVision-related shops and events along the route. This is also being encouraged to avoid overcrowding but also to highlight the wider Mountbatten/Bromedine area.

This isn't the first time that Mountbatten and Arena de Banqués have bid to host the competition with Doportedas' WorldVision Song Contest 56 bid also showing the best bits of the town and the arena. Arena de Banqués is the newest arena out of the three main ones in the capital, with it opening in 1999 in order to commemorate the new millennium. For the upcoming WorldVision Song Contest, there will be around 18,250 - 19,000 people that can fit inside on three different tiers. The tiers will provide a fantastic view of the stage and on camera, seeing that many people packed into the arena will look amazing. All of the stadium seats will have lights attached to them (used in this example) but this will be further delved into during the stage section of the bid. The arena is sometimes used as a stadium for sports with it having a retractable roof. Frequently; rugby, field and Ice hockey and some indoor sports are held at the arena during the spring and summer, with music live events usually occupying the arena during the winter and autumn. While this would mean that hosting the contest is a tad off-season for Banqués. Arena de Banqués is a world-class venue that has played host to the IBA Gymnastics Championships (which was hosted at the start of the year and saw gymnasts from over 20 IBA nations participate) as well as World Cup of Hockey 46 as part of the Novapax Mercedini-lead hosting. Mountbatten and this arena is well versed to host international events as shown and it would be an amazing opportunity for the upcoming WorldVision Song Contest to be added to Arena de Banqués' ever-growing roster of world-class events hosted there.

The iconic trio from Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2022's Grand Final which was hosted in Doportedas will return again one stage. Doportedas' hosting of VM2022 gave WorldVision Britonisea's most recent winner, Petre Lemetre but the show was particularly famed amongst Britons due to the three hosts - Matt Evans, who is a regular host of Vha Mehlodhivestoile (he hosted the most recent edition of it, and he was also involved in the bid for the 100th WorldVision Song Contest), Alyxhia Willis who represented Britonisea at the 67th WorldVision Song Contest coming 2nd before winning Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2019 and then winning WorldVision Song Contest 73 in Estogium. Finally, there are questions as to whether Xavier Benchek will host the upcoming WorldVision due to his participation in Vha Mehlodhivestoile. Regardless, he will be going to Doportedas - either as a host alongside Alyxhia and Matt or as Britonisea's representative to the competition. Which will he be? We will find out sooner than later...

This edition, we wanted to maximise what each delegation can do on the stage and so we have decided to go for a rather simplistic design but its very vast. Let's talk through it. The stage features a huge LED background which is over 10 metres tall. The LED background is split into 11 rotating panels which can also move forwards by three metres - this means that you can have the background LED staggered or you can have it flat. Behind the large LED background, there is a huge light fixture (a la Liverpool 2023) with state of the art strobe and laser powerful LED lightings to create striking displays. With beautiful deep colours, WorldVision will never have looked this good. Paired with the latest LED technology, WorldVision 107 will be beautiful and memorable, bringing the best colour to each WorldVision delegation that takes part at the contest. The LED panels can turn mid-performance or a delegation can decide to use one wall or the other....The LED strobe lights expand beyond the LED screen strips so a delegation can use the best of both worlds. Over 1750 metres squared of lights. More than 2,000 moving heads. On the topic of lights, as you will see on the link, some of the rigs come down and can point towards the rest of the arena or towards the performance. You better go crazy with them! 1000 tiles of LED floor will also be placed on the stage, most of which is set aside for the main stage which is slightly elevated above the rest of the stage. There main stage is surrounded by more LED flooring which is slightly lower down but you most definitely can use it during your performance. There are also LED strips which go along the outside of the stage all the way to the Greenroom where there is a satellite stage - feel free to use that also! The Greenroom chairs also have LED strips which you can integrate into your performance.

Next to every seat there will be LED boards featuring 9 bright lights and when you zoom far enough with the camera, you will be able to see a spectacular display around the stage in the audience. Delegations are free to use this feature whether that's just for adding extra colour to the arena and displaying pictures. Before each performance, the name of the country performing with be shown on the audience, similar to this so delegations are free to add this into their roleplays[/url].

LED floors. LED rotating walls . LED strips. LED strobes... oh yeah, we're going crazy! As with any WorldVision, the stage comes equipped with pyrotechnic features, holograms and the latest augmented reality.

Pictured: OLA (Besen WV71), Sergey Boriscev (Polkopia WV76), Albrecht Coelho (Todlichebujoku WV63), Fakawi (Malta Comino Gozo WV106)

There has been 106 editions of the WorldVision Song Contest - that's a lot of songs! Some of these songs have made a remarkable impression in Britonisea and we want to celebrate the best of WorldVision music that has made an impact on the Britonish charts. To name some of the acts that will fly over to the Britonish capital will be OLA, Albrecht Coelho, Sergey Boriscev (winner of WorldVision Song Contest 76 from Polkopia). Titled "WorldVision's Greatest Hits", the ten-minute Interval Act will start off with the best of Britonish entries. You will see a plethora of Britonish WorldVision artists, with the Interval Act starting off with host Alyxhia Willis singing sections of her WorldVision entries, "You've Wanted Me" before moving into her VM and WorldVision winning entry, "Want You Home". We will then be sent back in time going right through the decades, with some surprise guest acts making their way to the WorldVision stage. We then will have an international section were the pictured artists will make an appearance before Fakawi from Malta Comino Gozo reprise their winning entry from Buaka 106.

  1. WorldVision Village: The WorldVision Village will take place on the campus of the Park Promedine. The Village will be open for a week before the event and a day afterwards with the pack-up beginning on Monday. There will also be a watch party for the Grand Final and Semi-Finals if those go ahead.
  2. WorldVision 107 Titian Carpet: A Carpet for the WorldVision Titans!: The WorldVision Song Contest Titian Carpet will take place in Saintlake - the same place that was suggested for the 100th WorldVision Song Contest. On the side of the huge Saintlake in the middle of Doportedas, there will be breathtaking views of Doportedas, the capital city of Britonisea.

If Britonisea and Doportedas wins the honour of hosting the WorldVision Song Contest, more information about the Titian Carpet will be revealed alongside some other show elements such as Rehearsal Schedules and Media & Press Conferences.

Every postcard will be unique. The larger squares that make the border of the postcard draw from the main colours of the bid and logo while the smaller squares will be entirely formed of the colour from each national flag. Simple design that we know will get done!

I have a wealth of experience as the user that has hosted the highest number of song contests on NationStates, but I haven’t hosted the WorldVision Song Contest in over three years. I also have made eight editions of Vha Mehlodhivestoile which has helped me develop a unique hosting style and also develop characters that are now known in the WorldVision circle. I'd like the opportunity to host the contest with the televote as well and with my experience of hosting the Semi-Finals at the 53rd World Hit Festival and WHF in general, I believe that I could create an exciting atmosphere with top-quality graphics that will bring the 107th WorldVision Song Contest to a climactic finish. I will be trialling moving graphics or a video a la WorldVision Song Contest 100 for Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2023's results on Wednesday to make a final decision as to whether it should be incorporated into WorldVision. This will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Extra Roleplay Opportunities: If I'm picked as host for the competition, I will be making the experience as close to the WorldVision Song Contest as possible. I will be providing recaps which I have trialled for Vha Mehlodhivestoile - and think it should be fairly easy to do the same for WorldVision. It should make it super easy for people to vote as I can understand how annoying it can be to switch between 30+ songs and acts. The show ICly happens on Saturday 3rd June 2023. The Rehearsal Schedule alongside conference times etc will be revealed immediately after voting is open with that weekend before being the WorldVision 107: Titian Carpet (OOC ROLEPLAY: 27th May 2023). I will be able to announce the dates for the Dress Rehearsals if the bids win so you can add that into your roleplays. I will also be utilising the twitter page too, so hopefully this will draw some interest to WorldVision. Definitely if semis happen things will have to change and its likely the competition will be pushed back but.....that's all part of the fun, no? Speaking of...

Semi-Finals: Semis will happen if there are 36 complete entries, with the top 5 and the host nation automatically qualifying to the Grand Final. This means that the minimum number of nations in a semi-final will be 15.

Parade of Nations RP - Similarly to other editions that I’ve hosted, I will be hopefully completing a parade of nations for this edition. The Parade of Nations will be completed as nations post, and so I request that everyone chucks what their artist(s) were doing on the stage and I can add it to the Parade.

Voting Template I will release the voting template for nations before the voting, and will also leave in there the official font for the 107th WorldVision Song Contest. I will also give everyone a template if they would like to make graphics like this one if they would like people to visualise the things that they speak about in their entries.

Deadlines: All deadlines will be as intended on the OOC thread.

WorldVision Logo: We have slightly redesigned the WorldVision logo which we're happy to release during the contest - I'd like to call upon the WorldVision Committee to incorporate this into the contest going forward.

You're too late, as host voting has already started, and the bid wouldn't be accepted anyway because of the lack of information

BITC Announcement

Postby Britonisea » Sun May 14, 2023 5:29 pm

Ahead of the results of who will host the 107th WorldVision Song Contest, BTVB will be revealing the results of who is set to represent Britonisea at the upcoming WorldVision Song Contest.

Image

OOCly, the contest's graphics have been used as a test run for the televote reveal if the Doportedas bid wins tomorrow. The idea is to group televotes together on the forum (so we don't spam in groups of 5 or so) while an exciting video reveal is played, similar to the one done for the 100th WorldVision Song Contest. The aim is to have the scoreboard fully animated for the televote reveal.

Don't forget to vote for your favourite bid!

...introducing the WorldVision Village 107 Thread!

Postby Britonisea » Mon May 15, 2023 4:37 pm

Excellent! Thank you to all of youse who put your faith in the Doportedas bid for the 107th WorldVision Song Contest. This edition marks the first time in the nation's history that we're heading to the capital city of Britonisea after three previous failed attempts. It also marks 26 editions (aka over three years) since the last Britonish hosting so it's been quite a while! I'm really looking forward to hosting the competition but I am looking for this contest to be quite different to the previous ones.

I have felt as though WorldVision is in need of a little bit of an RP boost, so I have decided to create...the WorldVision Village & Red Carpet. This will be open throughout the duration of the WorldVision Song Contest and its primary use is to create some more RP opportunities for everyone but also give users a space to promote their entry, conduct interviews with their own acts and even acts from nations that are of particular interest. It is a space where you can really flesh out your participants - what other songs do they have in their album? I'll personally make sure to use this thread as much as I can, so don't be surprised if I BVC/BITC asks you for a cheeky little interview!

I feel as though, similarly to the pre-parties, it's great if you sign your artists up for events like this - it takes no more than 5 minutes to sign up and you are more than free to sign up some of your old WorldVision participants. There's more to talk about and to be honest, entries that have gone through pre-parties have done better at the contest! That's a fact!

Moreover, the Rehearsal Schedule has been released on this document but a final one will come on the 28th May sometime.

The 107th WorldVision Song Contest Contest Thread will be released in about 22 hours, at around 10PM BST 17th May 2023. The set-up of the thread will be slightly different to previous editions, with the first couple of pages about the stage, camera plots etc before going into the main event. Please feel free to use the information that will be available to you - they're there for a reason!

WorldVision...start posting now!

Postby Britonisea » Tue May 16, 2023 2:28 pm

Hello guys! You can start posting now. You have until 29th May 2023, 23:59 BST to post your entry...at which point I will post the Interval Acts.

Also, please DO NOT rush to get your entry up! If you're just going to post "XX [NATION NAME]"... you're not ready to post. Please could you at least give us the name of your artist, their song name and the youtube link so I can add it to the playlist.

There's a break after every eight nations...so when we've hit entries 8, 16, 24 etc - after I'd like to reserve a post so please do DM me and let me know if you can!

If there's any questions or issues, please message them below or DM me. Finally, Don't forget to sign up for the WV Village! I am going to update that now. Thank you to those of you who have already signed up. You're all so lovely.
