Axuva Today Network [ATN] Today we announce that the Axuvian Government now recognizes The Russian Language as an Official Language, Korean and English were spoken in the beginning, but there were Russians too, russians were forgotten and their language were not recognized due to the things they did in the past, but now their language is a official language of Axuva, and there will now be 3 official languages instead of two.

Information about the WorldVision Village has been revealed - users have just over three days left to register their artist(s) at the Village - we hope to see you all then! A few days/times no longer are accepting sign-ups

After this point, the Village thread will turn into an RP one and you're more than welcome to post on it and tell us all about how your broadcaster is celebrating the upcoming 107th WorldVision Song Contest in Doportedas.

I'm going to continue adding things to the IC thread now, do let me know if you have any questions. Postcard information has been added to the OP too, so if you'd like to RP about that - let me know!

Due to delays and disagreements between RTV Networks and LeonMedia, The Fatimanian Representation has been decided to be pulled out (withdraw) from the Song Contest until the next edition.

The pot has gotten a tad bit hot for my liking and I don't see myself homogenizing with the soup with what I've got for motivation, therefore; I withdraw from this edition.

Nothing personal, but right now I can't punch a bigger weight like I used to, sorry lads, enjoy 107!

Erika Kjellfrid, performing the song "Wear My Crown" from her upcoming debut album "Dynasties Fall", will be representing Ethane in the 107th WorldVision, hosted in Doportedas, Britonisea.

The song is rumoured to be a haunting epic pop song, playing off tropes of rebellion and royalty in its staging to bring together a crowd-pleasing performance. Only in the voting will the power of this song be known, but the Ethanian public seem to clearly be behind this song.

WorldVision odds are back, but this time with a twist. Long gone are odds driven by broadcasters trying to predict the results - instead, we want to use fan-driven data to help predict how the future WorldVision will pan out. Using the form below you can vote for at least one, and up to ten nations who you think will perform well in the upcoming edition in Britonisea (not necessarily who you WANT to perform well).

The odds will be released before voting starts, after the committee evaluation period, so you have around 48 hours to make your predictions!

Also, the Britonish entry is complete. You can find that right here!

There are about 23 hours left to post your entry for the 107th WorldVision Song Contest! Good luck to everyone and I look forward to the voting!

My lyrics are done! I meant to put this on the Discord, but my discord is having a meltdown so uhh... hopefully we can get semi-finals!

Also when are entries due. On the main page it says 11:59 (pm) BST , but I was thrown off a little because I thought entries are due 11:59 UTC/GMT. So when are entries due? Also please stick to one timezone to avoid confusion because you guys used UTC for the host voting open but other dates are in BST, (Ideally UTC/GMT) thanks.

Markets across the multiverse have been placing their bets and, on the eve of the contest, Oddschecker can officially announce that Britonisea is favourite to win the 107th WorldVision Song Contest. Punters believe that Ella Lockwood can lift the trophy on home soil with her song "Hypnotised", with a commanding lead of second place Malta Comino Gozo. Another steep drop to third sees Achaean Republic's rock entry "Kachat" lead a pack which includes former winners Carrelie, Ertzei Kishim and Polkopia.

Several nations do not appear on the odds - Oddschecker believes these entries have a 0% percent chance of victory.

We wish all the nations competing good luck!

Just to let you know, I have recently been in contact with the Committee and I'm a tad exhausted and won't really post anything for now so you're allowed to work on your entries until 12pm BST 30th May 2023 as confirmed on Discord.

I'm going to update the Village thread and head to sleep! Thanks!

What's happening with WorldVision 107?

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a stunning week so far. Thank you very much to all of you guys who have submitted an entry to the 107th WorldVision Song Contest - it's been brilliant seeing so many of you participate, especially after putting on a lot of hard work to get this show on the road. I also want to thank those of you who have interacted with the WorldVision Village and the extra RP information such as the postcards and whatnot, it's been great to read through them. As a result of the hype built around the contest, we have hit 36 nations with a full list of accepted participants spoilered below:

StrayaRoos
Crustyland
Carrelie
Polkopia
Aenglide
Ertzei Kishim
Robloxian Robloxia
Axuva
Illdonya
Scotatrova
Tummylandia and Susistan
Ugunnustan
Waisnor
Beepee
These American States
South Batoko
Lochario
Malta Comino Gozo
Placely Placington
Besen
Alezian Union
Alinghi
Achaean Republic
Tödlichebujoku
Britonisea
Terra Zealandia
Vartugia
Missus X
Estogium
S.R Caryton
The Hlhata States
Flusia
Llalta
Kalosia
Aircrowoian Canada
Ethane
Lagoa

What's going to happen?

Well, due to the number of nations participating (this is the largest contest I have hosted personally), we will be enacting the semi-finals process, however, it will run slightly differently from how it was done at the 100th WorldVision Song Contest. The voting for the 107th WorldVision Song Contest will begin at some point tonight (hopefully - listen to announcements from myself and the committee) where nations will provide a televote score for every nation in the contest (as normal) alongside providing a full jury ranking from 1st-35th, with 1st obviously being your 12 points in the normal system. The voting will be open for an extended amount of time giving users more time to rank the jury but it will also give the host (me) some more time to prepare ahead of the semi-finals. For the participants, all they will need to do is focus on the Entries Thread, which used to be the Contest Thread. Once the vote open, we will let you know.

A new contest thread will be posted ahead of the First Semi-Final which will take place on the 13th June 2023 with the Second Semi-Final happening on the 15th June 2023. The Grand Final will happen on the 17th June 2023. Once the voting has closed, we will have a result and I will be able to prepare graphics (I am intending for it to be a video/moving graphics) with a live show on the 17th June 2023 at 20:00 a la Eurovision where the winner of the 107th WorldVision Song Contest will be crowned!

What's the point of semi-finals under this system?

Well, this system has been successful at the World Hit Festival (Jury voting) and Vha Mehlodhivestoile (Televoting) and so I believe that it will be a great addition to the WorldVision Song Contest. At the 100th WorldVision Song Contest, users were asked to vote twice - once at the Semi-Final and again at the Grand Final. I feel as though once a user votes once, they shouldn't have to vote again...it's a big long and especially if you haven't qualified, I don't really think you should have to vote again ((it's not as if you can be disqualified so have no reason to vote)). This system ensures that once you've voted, you're all locked in and you can sit back and relax the show. Another reason this system is great is it'll make it a little bit easier for me as host. A Grand Final with 26 participants will look better for the graphics and it will be easier and quicker to animate the video graphics I had prepared for the contest. This system (as opposed to the 100th WorldVision Song Contest) will mean I know the end results before the Semi-Finals are even announced hence giving me around 6 days to prepare the video graphics - AKA more than enough time - while building hype through the Semi-Finals on Tuesday and Thursday. Finally, it adds even more realism to the contest having Semi-Finals anyway! Why not tbh! WV is only a bit of fun and it's not that deep.

Don't be worried about whether I can deal with all this data, around this number of nations participated at the 53rd World Hit Festival and I did the semi-finals for that (WHF53 RANKINGS HERE. Have a good read - you might learn some stuff from viewing it instead of trying to understand words alone. At the 53rd WHF I was the Overseer and hosting so had no help at all - so doing this alongside the committee will be an absolute walk in the park and allow me to focus on IC elements of the show.

Who will qualify to the Grand Final?

Unlike the 100th WorldVision Song Contest, only the top 10 will qualify from each semi-final to the Grand Final joining the six automatic qualifiers. This will make a Grand Final of 26 nations - just like in Eurovision. The automatic qualifiers for this edition includes hosts Britonisea, Malta Comino Gozo (1st), Achaean Republic (2nd), Waisnor (5th) alongside Carrelie (6th) and Beepee (7th). Neither Plangainer nor Uthossia are participating meaning that Carrelie and Beepeee will get their spots. Each Semi-Final will have 15 nations in them.

Pots will be made by the host and the committee based on WorldVision wins and nations who we believe have similar music tastes to ensure that the Semi-Finals are equally split and diverse in terms of nations with experience and music. With the above ranking suggestion, you will add the automatic qualifiers to your top list with the jury points automatically updating (well, I will manually do it but for you it'll be automatic).

I'm a master and I have a puppet...

You are allowed, similarly to in previous WorldVisions, to submit ONE FORM for both you and your puppet but please make this clear when you fill in your nation's name at the top of the Jury/Televote form that this is your intention. You must include your puppet in your ranking (thus it'll be out of 36 for you) and I will be able to sort out the rest. Now, you can rank your puppet wherever in the list, but your puppet will not receive more than 5 points in either the Semi-Final or the Final! So don't go and rank yourself first thinking you'll cheekily give yourself 12! Your puppet will be bumped down to 6th place with all the nations directly under it bumping up a place. Loophole closed.

Woah! This televote form looks a tad different, what's going on here?!

This edition, we will be adding integers for points above five (5.5, 6, 6.5). Now slow down - I know what you're thinking but it's not as bad as you think it is. The weightings (at least for the semi-finals) have absolutely not changed. A 6.5 is midway between 6 and 7 when translated to the weightings and so 0 and 10's difference is the same as normal. The only difference that there might be in terms of the scores will be...probably less ties which actually makes things a bit more interesting, don't you think?

The reason we've added integers is for the Grand Final which is when the weighting will change. At the 100th WorldVision Song Contest, the weightings were exaggerated to try and combat the fact the Grand Finalists will have higher televote scores out of 10 (which did eventually happen) and so a similar thing will happen at this contest (but from another angle) with the figures gathered during the first round of voting. For example (while it is still to be confirmed), a 7 might automatically become the new "4" in the Grand Final, with 6 positive weightings thanks to there now being 6 ranks ahead of it - and thus similar to the semi-finals (7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10). We're still working on it but it will probably include more negative weightings than positive (which won't really matter in the long run due to GF nations having really minimal scores below 5ish) but it will be interesting to see how this comes out.

We will keep you up to date in regards to this but feel free to ask questions or give me suggestions.

So...what's happened to the Contest Thread?

Well, aren't you a nosey bugger! The Contest Thread has now turned into the Entries Thread (no, it's not the Draft Thread!!) and will be where you go through each of the entries to rank them for the WV107. You will not see The Contest Thread until the week of WorldVision Song Contest 107 (12th June 2023) where I will - maybe at 20:00 to be cute - post entries 1 by 1 in their running order and then announce the qualifiers at around 22:00 like in Eurovision...one by one! [[Live idea: Or I might just...make videos for each semi actually and post it on the Entries Thread - let's see how creative I'm feeling]] I will do this for both Semi-Finals and users will be encouraged to use the WorldVision Village 107 Thread to post their IC reactions to the results, whether that's a news bulletin, a fan in the Village (where each show is streamed live) or...odds! To be honest, the Village thread is the REAL IC thread...

OMG: Live idea: I just had an idea...maybe those who qualify could post some questions they answered at the Live Press Conference?! (which is also streamed in the WV Village) What a fantastic idea, Brit!

....running order?

You didn't think I was gonna be boring and split the Entries Thread down the middle, did you?! Of course not! As I said earlier, nations will be drawn into pots which should be announced tomorrow night (by the way, this will all happen while voting is going ahead). On Friday night (I think! Might be cheeky and do it on Sunday night!) I will then do a Live Allocation Draw, with a running order being officially released within a few days afterwards. Artists will draw their for the Grand halves at the Live Press Conference after each SF show - I will announce this on the WV Village Thread. Grand Final running order will be released right after the SF2 qualifiers...after they've chosen their halves.

I'm giving you guys so much content! So please engage!

Give us a rough schedule then...

I'm hoping that the fact you have more time and that there is no voting during the vote reveal week, nations will use this time to interact on the WV Village Thread as at the end of the day, this is an RP contest and its a bit of fun - why not go all out! Everyone will have more time to do stuff. Here's what I'm thinking for the schedule (btw, WV100 was extended by around a week or two as well) - it's not completely confirmed but it will be by the committee soon...once I can all get them to have a discussion with one another

IMPORTANT DATES (OOC)
Voting Begins - 30th May 2023, 23:59 BST
Live Allocation Draw - 2nd June 2023, 21:00 BST or 4th June 21:00
Listenalong 1 (All 36 Entries) - 31st May 2023, 21:00 (maybe one during the day: Thursday)
Listenalong 2 (All 36 Entries) - 4th June 2023, 21:30 (maybe one during the day - night listenalong will happen after Allocation Draw if on Sunday)
Dates planned, not confirmed:
Voting Closes - 9th June 2023, 23:59 BST
Semi-Final 1 (LIVE) - 13th June 2023, 20:00 BST
Semi-Final 2 (LIVE) - 15th June 2023, 20:00 BST
Grand Final (LIVE) - 17th June 2023, 20:00 BST

RIGHT. That took me about 1hr30 to wrote, I hope I've covered everything. Also the extra time added is to have more time to create contest for a successful edition without running myself to the bone as, I'll admit, reaching the SF quota was a bit of a #shock!

Listenalong time change

Postby Britonisea » Sun Jun 04, 2023 6:49 am

Hello guys,

Something has come up just now, so I'm gonna shift back the Live Draw to 21:30 BST and the Listenalong to 22:00 BST - I think the listenalong lasts around 2h30 I believe!

I will also probably put a contest thread up during the week and have another listenalong probably Weds night (no promises) in Semi-Final order. The running order should be announced tomorrow (Monday) or the day after latest.

Sorry, I'm the only one typing here but I just providing updates on the contest as we go. There have been 2 listenalongs today - thanks to everyone who has attended! Here is the results of the semi-final allocation draw! The Running Order will likely come out today (5th June 2023) so look out for that!

You have until Friday night to vote. Remember that this is all just a bit of fun re semis, enjoy the moment and as I said on discord and here, this system will also help me as a host create a really good final. If you have any suggestions on what should be included in the show, do let me know as I am going to brainstorm some ideas over the next couple of days.

To the automatic qualifiers, please expect a DM from me with questions - they will be presented on the Contest Thread when that goes up (hopefully by Wednesday).

If people would like a listenalong on Weds night in Semi-Final order, let me know! I should be around to do that.

Finally, I will restart the WV Village tomorrow!

WorldVision odds are back, but this time with a twist. Long gone are odds driven by broadcasters trying to predict the results - instead, we want to use fan-driven data to help predict how the future WorldVision will pan out. Using the form below you can vote for at least one, and up to ten nations who you think will qualify for the finals in the upcoming edition in Britonisea (not necessarily who you WANT to qualify).

The odds will be released before the semi final shows! There's no specific closing time, but if we go two days without any new votes, I will close the odds and reveal them.

REMEMBER: This is predicting who you THINK will qualify from the semi finals, not who you WANT. The odds will be calculated using weighting based on who gets chosen more frequently - weightings will be cumulative. Remember too, you don't need to put ten nations if you do not want to.

There was a nation missed off the televote form but it has since been added.
