GENERAL CHANGES IN THE IMMIGRATION POLICY

Vragdian Ministry of Foreign Affaris Adal Sert informed the members of the press about the changes to be made in the immigration policy in the press statement he made yesterday. The main reason for changing the policy is the thought that the current policies are insufficient.

Receiving Immigration and Migrant Rights

To immigrate in Vragda, there must be an internationally recognized war or conflict in the nation of one's home country. Immigration for economic and social reasons requires the approval of both nations. Political rights will not be granted to refugees who settled in the country with the Social and Economic migration to be made. The basic needs of students coming to Vragda for higher education will be met by the state. Women, children and elderly people who took refuge in the country for the purpose of war will be taken to the nation and sent to their countries after 5 years.

The budget to be made to the Immigration Administration will be increased.

Adal Sert stated that more than 10 million Drezit will be allocated in order to fully implement these strict laws and revolutions. It is expected that the Directorates of Migration Administrations, which are planned to be effective especially in the eastern provinces, will be opened.

LANDSLIDE VICTORY FOR SZABO: NEW PEOPLES PRESIDENT FOR BLANCOR

The second generals elections for the office of the Peoples President and the parliament ended with a landslide victory for Miklos Szabo of the Centrist Party. He managed to score 53% percent of all votes. Former peoples president Scofield only managed 25% while NAA candidate Huns recieved 14% of all votes. Horty, candidate of the Fatherland party was last with him only getting 8% of all votes. The voter turnout rate was 79%. With this win, he will now govern over a parliament, that consits of 15 seats for the CP, 7 seats for the BWU, 4 seats for the NAA and 1 sole seat for the fatherland party. He nominated Sandor Vadaszi as our new Blancorian Grandminister, who will represent us internationally in the next 3 years.

MIKLOS SZABO ANNOUNCING MAJOR ARMS DEAL WITH FORMER ARMS GIANT "FERENCZI FEGYVERZETI RENDSZEREK"

The freshly elected Peoples President Miklos Szabo wasted no time to announce his first major poltical decision. During a press conference in Capo Day he announced that the country signed a major arms deal with former arms giant "Ferenczi Fegyverzeti Rendszerek" (FFR). FFR had produced weapons during the millitary dictatorship of Rudolfo III. and managed to get through the ups and downs of the cicil war mostly unscaved. This deal included the introduction of the FFR 801-B as the new standard assault rifle for the Blancorian armed forces. Szabo also stated, that other weapons and even millitary vehicles will be produced in the factorys of FFR in Gorja. This marks a major changing point in the intern and foreign politics of our nation. Up to this point we were mostly occupied with rebuilding our infrastructure and economy. We managed to overcome these challenges and now look forward to a strong future with a strong Blancor.

Lunapolitan population meets BSTO membership with widespread agreement

TITANIA - Recent polls have shown that the Lunapolitan populace reacted to its country becoming a BSTO member state with general acclaim. Most citizens have described an "increased feeling of safety", and "a silver lining on the horizon" as Lunapoli's status as a well-respected member of the Violetian international community continues to grow.

Empress Chiara II herself stated: "We now have a foothold in the Boreal Sea with the BSTO, and continue to be the driving force behind development and international protection as part of the PFA. This will be beneficial to both our own nation, and our partner states that we are aligned with."

Lunapoli reportedly agrees to payment of reparations

Another statement of Empress Chiara that has received lots of attention, as the ruler of Lunapoli has confirmed "fruitful talks" with Amethynia's leader, Doyenne Donatella Vicari, and agreed to pay reparations for widespread war crimes that occured during the Poppy Fields War.

The amount of money the Lunapolitan government will pay is currently undisclosed, and may remain a secret as the head of state refused to reveal further details. However, experts have estimated the amount to be in the "two-digit billions", ranging from 40 to 90 billion denarii in total. A rather sizeable number of economists have declared that total reparations might turn out to be even higher.

In any case, Lunapoli and Amethynia have approached each other, and towards lasting peace.

Establishment of the Global Community of Minor Nations (GCMN)

With Illionar officially withdrawing from BSTO in early October (I think) due to having little strategic reason to be more of a burden to the multinational defensive alliance, the Kingdom of Illionar invited foreign delegations of smaller nations to Muja for a diplomatic conference. Invitations were sent out to Blancor, Sordishia, Carantania, Amethynia and New Sutherland.

In late October, the Global Minnow Cooperation Initiative was signed in Muja by the six attending parties, which soon led to the establishment of a new international political and economic organization named the Global Community of Minor Nations. After a few days of discussions, the new organization was established on the foundations of promoting trade between the minor players on the international market as well as creating a global community for promoting minor nations in the world of international politics. The Global Minnow Cooperation Initiative was soon expanded into the Treaty of Global Minor Nations Cooperation, which finalized the agreement for the organization and became the founding legal foundation for the organization. As original proposers, Illionar became the first chair country of the organization, which would be in charge of leading the representation of smaller states on the international stage for the first two years until 2025, when the next signatory would be chosen to become the chair country of the organization.

DISCUSSIONS OPEN BETWEEN IOFN & GCMN

DIPLOMATS FROM KIBERIA AND ILLIONAR MEET IN TOLEDIA

This month, diplomats from Illionar visited Kiberian officials in Toledia to discuss the newly formed GCMN. Kiberian Secretary of State Isaac Cortez was also present at the meeting. The general vision of GCMN was discussed at great length before the IOFN was mentioned. The International Organization of Free Nations created by Kiberia and New Prydai, is an organization structured on promoting democracy and liberal economics globally. The IOFN while not officially together, was established in idea, and the developments of the organization had kept relations between Kiberia and New Prydai strong.

Kiberian diplomats offered Illionar the opportunity to semi-fuse the organizations. Secretary Cortez commented, "The GCMN exists to provide support for the world's minor nations. The current Kiberian administration supports this fully, and wants to assist where it can."

The Diplomats offered Illionar and by extenstion the GCMN the opportunity to conduct bilateral free trade agreements between GCMN and IOFN member nations. Kiberian officials had even offered the GCMN IOFN military protection, mainly in the form of defending the open navigation of the seas.

The meeting can be described as a general success. While Illionar officials had to discuss this move with GCMN members, they readily accepted IOFN military defense.

WEST CARNOLIA JOINS IOFN AS WAR AGAINST OWELSIA CARRIES ON

In the face of ongoing war, and Kiberian resolve to bring down oppressive states, diplomats arrived in West Carnolia to discuss their admission into the IOFN. West Carnolia already enjoyed Kiberian foreign aid and military support, and was under constant reminder of its eastern neighbor. West Carnolia was happy to join the IOFN, and had agreed to a free trade agreement and further investment programs. Kiberia would work as a West Carnolian salesman of sorts, as Kiberia would buy West Carnolian retail and industrial goods to be used in the Kiberian economic machine. The nation also agreed to further Kiberian military presence. The previous 1,500 soldiers in West Carnolia would be greatly expanded. A full division of 10,000 men would deployed as well as two armored brigades consisting of 5,600 men, and 160 main battle tanks would be stationed in West Carnolia. Several fighter aircraft would be donated to West Carnolia as trainer aircraft to develop the Carnolian air force.

Kiberia would also up a Kerville Empresa de Fabricación plant to provide engines for West Carnolian aircraft, employing the local population.

Some officials had concerns that this may provoke an unwanted reaction for Syrasia. The Departments of State and Defense assured that these forces would not be "of any offensive stature" and were there to primarily bolster West Carnolian defensive capabilites, and to help develop their military as a whole.

So far, the IOFN consists of Kiberia, New Prydai, and now West Carnolia.

A shocking, if not unwelcome, development has emerged from Kiberia this morning, as the Kiberian Secretary of State, the equivalent of the Minister of Homeland and not the 1st Secretary of State, announced that Kiberia had signed and formally created an international alliance and body dedicated to the defence of democracies worldwide with New Prydai throughout a series of secret negotiations over the last couple of months, in what appears to again be a further move of a rising diplomatic position of New Prydai following the creation of the Monagh-Og with Gaelland.

This news that Kiberia has proudly taken up the alliance must give some joy to the overworked civil servants at the Foreign Office, but, sources claim that Sir Rhys was annoyed with their Kiberian partners jumping the proverbial gun on the announcement of the alliance, but confirmed it earlier this morning in the daily-press briefing and stressed that whilst New Prydai would under no cirmumstances be joining Kiberia's current war in Orwelsia, despite publick sentiment being heavily in favour if the Kiberian intervention, and that negotiation on the creation of the Independent Organisation of Free Nations (IOFN) took place before the start of the war in Orwelsia.

In regards to instant membership of Carnolia and apparently on-going discussions with the also newly formed Global Community of Minor Nations, Sir Rhys said that negotiations were ongoing.

While reactions from the populace have been described to be "overwhelmingly joyous", there have also been voices from both nations openly criticizing the pact. Amethynian conservatives are still trustful of Lunapoli; Lunapolitan hardliners, on the other hand, consider it "a huge waste of money, time, and effort".

Following the West Carnolian entry into the International Organisation of Free Nations, several student riot groups have caused significant civil disruption to daily life in the city of Rassau in the Grand Duchy of Carnolia. Following an illegal demonstration outside the Rassau State University building in the early evening of yesterday, the protest quickly revealed its true nature, and by 8pm students had begun setting alight cars, looting stores, and barricading roads with makeshift blockades.

After initially dealing with the students successfully, and arresting 60 of the original civil terrorist organisers, the East Carnolian police called upon the governments of the Union of Euralia to help aid with dissipating the growing riots. Archibald Wilson, First Secretary of State, met with chief advisors and His Imperial Majesty late at night in Ile-de-Ambre, and at around 2am today, a small peacekeeping deployment of around 820 Knightmare Corps troops with 40 tanks and AFVs were sent to Rassau to help restore civilian confidence and order in Rassau. An unexpected amount of violence was displayed from the rioters, with one Syrasian soldier currently in hospital in critical condition. However, by the early hours of the morning over 600 arrests were made, and the riots eventually collapsed and ended. Some lone terrorists continued to harrass and attack working people and Syrasian peacekeeping attache units. By this time today, however, peace has been restored in Rassau.

Both the Syrasian and East Carnolian government have issued a joint statement warning against the instability that the IOFN may bring to the international status quo, and have urged both Syrasian allies in the BSTO and Euralian partners to ensure that they too maintain order and prosperity for their citizens. It is expected that an emergency summit of the Euralian Council will be held in the coming days in order to discuss the political developments in Carnolia over the previous months.

"The Imperial Government of Syrasia, and His Highness's Government of the Grand Duchy of [East] Carnolia have urged for the International Organisation of Free Nations to consider carefully its intent in the Democratic Federal Republic of [West] Carnolia, and to seriously reconsider the deployment of troops in the Carnolian region. The cultural and societal unrest caused by such provocative and bellicose blunders have only caused more harm than good."

KIBERIA AND IOFN STANDS FIRM ON WEST CARNOLIAN ADMISSION

KIBERIAN DISSAPOINTED WITH SYRASIAN "PEACEKEEPING"

After riots broke out in East Carnolia due to angry students, the Syrasian government has used harsh, brute force to crush the rioting. Compounding this misjudgement, the Syrasian government then issued a warning to IOFN regarding its latest member's admission. However Kiberia and the rest of the IOFN stands firm on allowing West Carnolia a spot in the organization. The answer coming from the Department of State's answer was blunt; "We find it inexcusable that such a developed nation such as Syrasia would resort to harsh punishments against its own people. We call into question yet again of Syrasia's handling of their puppet, East Carnolia. It is clear that the people of East Carnolia are sick of Syrasian oppresion, and wish to be set free. We expect the debate regarding East Carnolia to be revisited immediately in the LoN."

Kiberia has also reaffirmed that it will do what it takes to "secure Democracy and Freedom for all". West Carnolia is reportedly here to stay in the IOFN, even if it makes the east uncomfortable. Secretary of State Isacc Cortez commented; "We believe in freedom and liberty for all. We also believe Syrasia may just be desperate to hold onto a dying empire. Why else won't they listen to people who so much want to be free."

Questions were called about whether or not immigrants or refugees coming from the east may be bound for West Carnolia. No official comment was made but an offical did remark, "Well if they seek asylum in West Carnolia, we will have to accept them."

It was announced today that Blancor will be included in the newly founded "Global Community of Minor Nations". With Blancor steadily working to reach pre-war levels of economy and infrastructure, we managed to build up an international reputation for being an ambitious and determined country. This gained Blancor a seat in the GCMN. The freshly founded organization aims to increase the influence of so-called minor nations and to give them a choice in important decisions regarding all of Violetia. Other members of the GCMN include Amethynia and new Sutherland. This will surely but Blancor back on the map and back in the minds of the people and will also help to make them forget about our horrible past.

Masked Gunman Kills 10, injuries 18

West Waterfront County, North Region- In the early morning hours of Sunday November 19, a large amount of calls came into the West Waterfront County Police. The calls came in shortly after 12 am local time. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots around 11:59 pm and continued for 5 minutes until the police arrived. By time the police arrived at 12:06 am, 9 people were dead, 10 are severely injured with possible life threatening injuries. The police immediately shut down the streets and several blocks surrounding the building.

The police upon accessing the situation, determined the best course of action was to neutralize the threat. The police engaged in a 2 minute long shootout with the gunman, before the gunman killed a police officer and injured another. The gunman was later killed by a police officer. After the street fell silent the police moved into the building now identified as a Syrasian-New Sutherlander run hostel.

The victims were sent to different nearby hospitals. Where all of the injured are recovering. Meanwhile, back at the scene, survivors detailed that the gunman wore all black including a black face covering. The gunman was later identified as Klaus Horiegburg, a 43 year old male illegal immigrant from East Carnolia. According to authorities, he came to New Sutherland in 2003. His stay was welcomed for a couple of years, until November of 2006 when immigration authorities denied his stay after a criminal offense earlier that year. It is reported that Mr. Horiegburg physically fought his sister’s abusive ex-boyfriend after the abusive ex-boyfriend broke into the apartment Mr. Horiegburg and his sister were staying. Mr. Horiegburg’s sister at the time, a New Sutherlander citizen, claimed that her brother was a good man and shouldn’t be deported as a result of the criminal offense. However, immigration authorities ignored her statements and encouraged the deportation of Mr. Horiegburg after a short prison stay. Both Klaus Horiegburg and the abuser were sentenced to 1 year in prison and 8 years in prison according to judicial records.

Horiegburg appealed the sentence, and was granted freedom after 6 months in prison. However, he would be on probation for 1 year and if immigration authorities deemed that he didn’t reset his life he would be deported. In the aftermath of this, Mr. Horiegburg hid under the radar and worked odd jobs and moved constantly.

In the aftermath of the shooting, authorities raided an apartment building in Berman, Berman County, East Region in connection to Horieburg. What they found is that he had a laptop had a 23 page manifesto explaining his ideas of killing Syrasian descents in New Sutherland and Syrasian citizens for destroying and splitting up Carnolia. Also, he reportedly had a stockpile of weapons in his apartment. One of the weapons that were missing from the apartment at the time of the search, matched the weapon used to massacure the victims in the hostel in West Waterfront County, a urban county in the metro area of Eastwood.

Back at the crime scene, the families of the victims arrived to identify the bodies. Later tonight, the local community will hold a vigil to honor the victims in a local park. The victims include 3 Syrasian citizens, 6 New Sutherlander-Syrasians, and 1 police officer. The street remains shut until the crime scene can be declared finished The municipal government and the West Waterfront County has proposed destroying the hostel after the investigation is complete.

Prime Minister Anna Sanclair, released a statement to the nation, “The nation of New Sutherland and her people will remember this day forever. We as a nation are heartbroken by the senseless murder of 10 people. Let our hearts and minds be with the families of the deceased and the victims.” Law enforcement authorities say that this is the deadliest mass shooting in New Sutherland history.

Friendly match announced: Bosby Glory vs Eldur United

Bosby Glory will have the honour to represent our nation in a friendly match against Firnean powerhouse Eldur United. The champion of this year's Prime League Series will travel to Eldur on the 26th of November to play the favorites Eldur in their 85.000 capacity Eldur Coliseum. This serves as an opportunity to further increase the relations between our two nations.

News agencys all across Blancor and Firnea quickly picked up on the news and asked captain David Neuhaus about his opinion regarding this match. "We are very much looking forward to playing them. Winning the championship this season was very hard but this test will be even harder. But we can also see where we stand team wise, since we are the clear underdogs. We have to bring our A Game to have chance of beating them at their home."

Although a sellout crowd is not expected, many people are sure to watch the game live, with many Blancorian players making their money in the Firnean Premier League.

ELECTION SEASON BEGINS IN KIBERIA!

Governing coalition under threat as progressives get assertive/Education & Healthcare Costs Rise/Budget talks at standstill

With 2024 around the corner, President Cecil Miller and Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez near the end of their first terms respectively. President Cecil Miller's tenure has been marked with limited domestic reform, and a war against Orwelsia. It has also been marked by a radical shifts in Kiberian foreign policy. With involvments in Carnolia, the formation of IOFN, and the war against Orwelsia, this all culminates in a totally new era for Kiberia on the world stage. While the President's liberal party and the idealistic Progressive party has applauded these efforts, Kiberian Partido Alternativo has denounced this new "globalistic" attitude. Kiberian Partido Alternativo is the nation's far right party, dedicated to Kiberian nationalism, and the elimination of all foreign aid. The party also strongly detests the formation of the IOFN as well as the war. While this party is only the second to smallest national party in the General Court, the limited domestic reform and heightned attention overseas by the current administration as allowed the far right to produce non-stop ads for this campaign season. Rural areas in the south, as well as miners in the northern hills and mountains have slowly been trending towards the far right.

The Liberal party, a center-left party, has also seen better days. It used to command a healthy 77% approval rating from its voter base. Its main voting blocs were in suburbs and certain northern cities. However the lack of reform has pushed the Liberal party down below 46% aspproval of its voter base.

Partido Progresista, Kiberia's progressive party, has been poaching moderate liberal voters in the major cities in southern Kiberia, promising better social care and representation. Kiberia, while a developed economy, lacks widespread access of healthcare and college education for its people. While hospitals and universities are common in Kiberia, their high costs are a major barrier for many. Pharmaceuticals are a major Kiberian export, and the nation leads in healthcare treatment and technology innovation. Yet despite this insurance costs and hospital service costs are so high the average Kiberian cannot afford to live if suffering from a significant afflication. The options for many middle class Kiberians is go broke, or don't get help.

This has caused major upset among the liberal population, while more conservative individuals believe that private insurance is "good business" and "ensures people are responsible without putting the burden on someone else". However healthcare costs continue to rise, and insurance companies continue to cover less and charge more. On top of this patent laws for new medicines keep other companies from producing a generic, and cheaper version of many life saving drugs. President Miller's inaction with this seemingly growing crisis, has led many Liberals to doubt his chances of re-election.

Furthermore, while 52% of all Kiberians from the ages of 25 to 65 have a college degree, over 86% of them still carry college debt. Education costs have skyrocketed in the last 20 years by over 500%. "The cause of this is simple", remarked a Progressive party member, "As the economy becomes more advanced, it requires more people to get more advanced education. This demand pushes up tuition costs and there is little support from the federal government".

Other lawmakers blame the federal government for not allowing states to develop their own budgets. Some District leaders claim state budgets would allow for better allocation of funds, rather than the federal government managing it all. Federal officials responded by sayting, "Sure, state budgets sounds good. But if states create their own budgets, they would have to implement their own taxes as well, which places a bigger burden on people's incomes".

Another possible reason for soaring education costs may be a lackluster financial aid program. Two studies in the mid-2010's found that as financial aid coverage grows, tuition prices also increase. 67% of all colleges in Kiberia are privately owned, while the remaining 33% are public. While public schools are generally cheaper, with four year tutition being nearly $60,000 for four years at public schools. It's also nearly $115,000 for four years at a private school.

Universidad de Toledo, Kiberia's oldest University. Now government owned, it costs upwards of $59,000 for four years of tuition.

With rising education and healthcare costs, Progressives also cirticize the Liberal party for the lack of minimum wage increases. The current minimum wage in Kiberia is set at $9.50 and hour, while the living wage across Kiberia is roughly $11.32 an hour. The Liberal party was firm in their belief that minimum wage jobs were there for work experience and not to feed a family on. However Progressive lawmakers pointed out that the living wage of $11.32 an hour refers to a single person, not a family.

This sudden explosion of criticsm of their own govenrment left the General Court almost paralyzed, halting budget discussions that had started up earlier in November. Every party had agreed to a major budget increase for the military, before some of the Progressives began to call attention to the blatant domestic issues. Progressives have claimed that for the entire 4 year tenure, the liberal party has refused to allow Progressive bills to be heard in the General Court. This mistreatment of a large section of lawmakers had caused tension to skyrocket to critical levels, leading to the current standstill. The only reason a snap election had not been called was due to the fact Kiberia was already in campaign season.

Progressive deputy party leader Isabel Serra, had been riling up her party with public and blatant attacks on the current Progressive party and Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez. Ms. Serra and her base blame PM Sánchez for the lack of Progress, claiming he had "sold his ideas for power and his donors". She also threatned that if Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez did not step down in the oncoming weeks, she would be forced to resign and form her own party.

One thing is clear, Kiberia has not progressed enough for her people, and the winds of change had begun to brew. It is still uncertain if President Cecil Miller can achieve a second term. It is however unlikely that the current governing coaltion will stay together. Shockingly the Partido de la libertad, a center-right party in opposition has defended the Liberal party for its "dedication to preventing uneeded change". The center right being the second largest party in the General Council hinted that its leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, would be willing to supply votes to the Liberal party to keep the budget talks alive. This new budget, as speculated by many, would not include reforms to healthcare or education, nor would it raise wages.

Eldur United defeat Blancorian champions Bosby Glory 3-1

The long-awaited friendly football game between Firnean capital city club Eldur United and Blancorian football league champions Bosby Glory has finally taken place at Eldur Coliseum, and it certainly did not disappoint. 85,000 fans watched in awe as Eldur and Bosby gave it everything they had - and, especially after the break, it seemed the match would end up a lot different from what would eventually happen.

The Firnean powerhouse team has asserted dominance through the first 15 minutes of the match, and continously increased pressure towards Bosby's goal, with a 22 meter free kick by Eliza Rhodes hitting the outside of the goal post, barely missing the chance to lead. Bosby eventually found ways to counter the strong Eldurian offense, and soon became an equal opponent. However, in minute 33, Bosby central back Ce'Darius Quinn touched the ball with his right arm in the box ever so slightly, and after a good minute of checking, video assistant referee Bruno Jerković (ILL) decided a penalty for Eldur United. Fifth-generation football prospect Rebecca Rogstad took the shot, and centrally hammered the bar right below the crossbar.

Bosby Glory proved to be resilient, however, and refused to fall apart, and, following a surprising wide pass by Szentesi Roland, completely leaving right back Dante Di Giacomo standing, attacking midfielder Szerencsi Zsoltan went for the equalizer right before the break, elegantly circling the ball around Eldur keeper Oliver Warwick. Though it must be assumed that Eldur coach Markus Frostad made a clear statement in the locker room, the 1-1 goal seemed to have refreshed Bosby, and the guests would dominate the first fifteen minutes of the second half until Eldur slowly got back into the game. Konstantin Platt was switched in for Erik Markward in the 60th minute, while Eldur made a triple switch, bringing Olivier Henry, Adam Maynard, and U-17 star Rokne Gyldenløve for Augustus Ness, Johanna Herrmann, and Eliza Rhodes.

Afterwards, the hosts increased intensity, and both Maynard, and Gyldenløve would soon receive a yellow card for repeated fouling, effectively disrupting Bosby's offensive drives. Finally, in minute 80, left back Raven Chamberlain played a beautifully curved cross into the box, and the Blancorian crown jewel, Daniel Puskás, rose higher than everybody else to score a magnificent header, and was substituted for Illioniari top prospect Zora Milošević, leaving with standing options. Merely seven minutes after the 2 -1, Milošević, to the surprise of everyone in attendance, played a back-heeled pass out of Bosby's penalty area, setting up for Rokne Gyldenløve, who smashed the ball into the right corner out of 19 meters, finalizing the 3 - 1 result.

"The result makes us look a lot better than we actually were today", Oliver Warwick, Eldur captain and Firnean national goalkeeper, said after the match. "It took us a lot of effort to keep it together today, and at times, we were plain lucky to not go behind. Bosby's got a bunch of extremely talented playmakers. I think we've all had a lot of fun tonight."

Coach Markus Frostad took a similar line, stating: "I'm proud of my boys and girls, but if we're being honest, this match could have ended either way tonight. After Szerencsi equalized, it was surprisingly hard for us to get back on track. The Bosby players showed their great spirit, and their fans really took it to the next level. I hope we'll meet again somewhere down the road."

Finally, substitute players Rokne Gyldenløve and Zora Milošević, clearly feeling very happy about the result. "We're really happy our coach gave us the opportunity to play today, and then we even managed to score the last goal together", Milošević said, beaming with joy. Gyldenløve confirmed: "This was so much fun. We really need to do this more often. Blancor has a lot of great football clubs out there, just like we do. We'll see what the future holds."

Several student riot groups caused significant damage to the city of Rassau, East Carnolia.

By 8pm a protest outside Rassau State University had turned into cars being set alight, roads being taken over by students, and local shops being looted. In the Union of Euralia's attempt to dissipate this chaos, 820 Knightmare Corps Troops, along with 40 Tanks and AFVs were sent from the neighbouring Syrasia. Riots eventually collapsed by the morning and 600 arrests were made as a result.

In response to this, Queen Cattleya herself has spoken out:

'I am extremely disappointed with the actions of West Carnolia and the IOFN. They fail to recognise East Carnolia as a sovereign state, and continue to disrupt the daily lives of the citizens living there. We are a nation within the Union of Euralia and the BSTO, and I myself, along with the rest of Rosaenia, consider the Grand Duchy of East Carnolia to be a friend that must be protected. It is disappointing that the peace and prosperity of the people within East Carnolia has been destroyed like this, and I urge the IOFN to reconsider the membership of West Carnolia - at the moment they are causing more harm than good.

I will be meeting with His Imperial Majesty of Syrasia in the upcoming weeks in order to discuss how Rosaenia can become a part of preventing this from happening again, but it is concerning that this needs to happen in the first place, and my heart lies with the people of East Carnolia. TITANIA - Less than 24 hours after reports that Queen Saga and Chancellor Havard Gyldenløve of Firnea, as well as Doyenne Donatella Vicari of Amethynia have travelled to the Lunapolitan capital city of Titania, had surfaced, an impromptu press conference held in the Imperial Courtyard has revealed truly breaking news.

"To improve relations between our nations, to strengthen security in the western Great Nerus Ocean, and to create a new economic union, simplifying and optimizing trade processes, the nations of Amethynia, Firnea, and Lunapoli are hereby creating the Great Nerus Pact", Empress Chiara II was quoted saying. "Our great Empire has paid its dues, both figuratively, and literally, and now, we are finally free to look forward, without leaving those behind that we had treated wrongly, and without denying the great responsibility that past leaders have ignored and denied for decades."

"I am incredibly proud to have achieved such progress in merely two years, and I am thankful to Chancellor Gyldenløve, Queen Saga, and Doyenne Vicari for making this possible. There is still a great lot of work to do, but I feel the support of the Lunapolitan people, and as long as you stand behind me, there is nothing we won't be able to achieve."

Empress Chiara II overrules Red Senate turndown for LGBTQIA+ protection law

Once again, Empress Chiara II has overturned a decision made by the 300 senators of the Red Senate. A new law protecting the rights and interests of LGBTQIA+ people barely didn't make it through the signing process, being turned down with 161 votes declining the propsed law, 127 votes accepting the law, and 12 abstainments. Less than two hours after the result was made public, the Empress overruled the Red Senate, allowing the law to be implemented.

This has been the thirty-second case of Empress Chiara overruling the Senate, and the senators are increasingly voicing their concerns and frustration. "I don't understand why we, as the senate, the legislative organ of our Empire, are even asked to vote on laws. If our Empress disagrees with our decision, she'll just act as if our voices don't matter", Bernardo De Cesaris (age 61, 25 years as senator), was quoted commenting the situation. "Despite the statements our Empress has made during her tenure, this country hasn't increased their democratic efforts. It is quite the opposite, in fact; they are being hindered at any given opportunity."

Senator De Cesaris, however, quickly found himself taken out of the frying pan and into the fire, when Empress Chiara II herself replied to the senator's comment in a statement of her own. "What Signor De Cesaris fails to either realize or mention is how the Red Senate came to be ever since it was implemented", she suggested. "Not only has the faunus population of Lunapoli entirely been barred from each and every Red Senate election in history, the election results had been manipulated in favor of the former Emperors' and Empresses' personal entourage. Unfortunately, due to years of mismanagement at the hands of both our rulers, and the oh so high-and-mighty Red Senate, we haven't had the opportunity to start a general election yet. However, if I were in place of Signor De Cesaris, I wouldn't assume to be safely re-elected, for this time, the entire Lunapolitan population at the age of 16 or higher is eligible to vote, and my kin has neither forgiven nor forgotten the decades - no, centuries of mistreatment."

The Empress' final statement is widely interpreted in a way that a dissolvement of the Red Senate is due rather sooner than later, and polls already suggest that her assumptions regarding re-election of De Cesaris and other conservative senators may turn out to be correct.

Administrator of Defense agrees to voluminous arms deal with Lunapoli

In the early morning hours, Amethynia's current Administrator of Defense, Maurizio Anastasi (45), has announced an arms deal with the Empire of Lunapoli, worth several billion denarii.

"The deal our administration has agreed to with the Lunapolitan government contains a contract for a total of forty Jupiter Mk. II tanks, four Squalo-class frigates, sixty Tapejara-3 multi-purpose fighters, as well as sixty-thousand Civetta 661 pistols, and twenty-thousand Falco 211 rifles, for a sum of about 11.5 billion denarii, following a generous ten percent discount", Anastasi explained. WAR OVER AS KIBERIAN SOLDIERS OCCUPY ORWELSIA

After months of fighting at sea, the Kiberian Navy in the end was able to defeat the enemy fleet and advance to the coast. As Kiberian soldiers stepped onto the Orwellian beaches, a new era began. Soon, Orwelsia's defenses began to crumble as Kiberian soldiers marched through foreign land, something that hasn't occurred in countless centuries.

Once fighting had reached the capital city, brutal urban combat ignited as Kiberian soldiers did their best to work through the narrow alleys while ensuring civilian losses were kept to a minimum. The capitol building has completely leveled in the early morning the day after Christmas. All members of the previous Orwellian totalitarian regime were apprehended in the following hours. Each would be transported back to Kiberia and kept in prison made specifically for foreign entities. They would later be brought to the LoN assembly to discuss an international trial, charging them with crimes against humanity.

As one govenrment fell, Kiberia moved quickly to establish a new one. 112,000 Kiberian troops were rapidly deployed to Orwelsia to stamp out any armed resistance, as well as to distrubte food, water, medical care and finally, a referendum. Soldiers set up makeshift poll stations and went door to door and shelter to shelter distrubting cards in several languages asking to select new parties and their subsequent leaders on the ballot. The ballots were collected and the Kiberian department of state got to work. Soon a Kiberian-styled Democracy was established from the ground up. A similar constitution guaranteeing the right to assembly, speech, expression, and other critical freedoms.

Three parties would be created as the initial representatives of the now-free Orwellian populace. A center-right party, a center-left party, and a left-wing party were prioritized. The Presidential candidate Michael Ambrose of the center-left party was selected by the people as the first President of Orwelsia. The new government would find itself structured nearly indentical to that of its Kiberian counterparts. This new government and Kiberia quickly got to work drawing up districts for voters and working to ensure all citizens above the age of 18 were registered to vote.

The Orwellian military would be reduced to 55,000 personnel with one tank brigade. This would function essentially as the nation's police and national guard. The air force was reduced to a fraction of its former self. The only aircraft remaining would be recon aircraft and a handful of combat aircraft. The navy fared no better. All of its destroyers were sold for scrap, along with its naval aviation. It's submarines would be seized, and its only carrier mothballed.

The Kiberian Departments of State and Defense made a joint annoucement that Orwellian occupation would be "swift and effective". The nation was already building a $65 billion dollar inveestment & rebuilding package for Orwelsia, while working with the new administration in regards to economic and foreign policy. Due to Orwelsia's status as occupied yet officially sovereign, it was pulled into IOFN via the Kiberian administration. Secretary of State Isaac Cortez later commented; "The Democratic Republic of Orwelsia will be treated as an equal in IOFN, and is a shining example of cooepration and Democracy at work".

After months of brutal fighting, the old totalitarian govenrment had fallen to the bravery of free men and women. For the first time in its history, Kiberia had sent ground forces overseas, and for the first time, had won a major foreign victory for Democracy and the freedom of mankind.

The Imperial Government in Pendragon has sent an open letter of congratulations to the Kiberian government in regards to its recent total occupation of Orwelsia. The Orwelsian Federation, having presented a significant danger to the Boreal Sea, has hitherunto been dissolved, and the Kiberian occupation forces have announced a new "Democratic Republic of Orwelsia" will succeed as the legal Orwelsian government after an unclear period of provisional governance.

First Secretary of State Wilson has been criticised by parliament for his poor handling of Syrasian foreign relations in the Boreal Sea. However, since the peacekeeping operation in East Carnolia and his apparent closeness to His Imperial Majesty Maximilian IX d'Syrasia, Wilson has made a surprising bounceback in popularity. The initial uncertainty surrounding his government's view on the legality of the Kiberian intervention has been mostly forgotten, having taken a mostly supportive stance of removing what was described by Wilson as a "scourge of the Borel, and a direct threat to international peace".

Despite the First Secretary's support for the intervention, His Imperial Majesty has spoken in parliament yesterday, juxtaposing his usual silence on international matters, questioning the details of the Kiberain occupation:

"Orwelsia is a nation-state which has no legitimacy. That cannot be understated. To have a totalitarian nation exist since the fall of Carnolia would be to make a mockery of the 15 million men, women and children who died fighting for a free and just world order. However, that does not give any nation the right to impose their culture, their politics, and their beliefs on any nation. Kiberia wishes for Orwelsia to have a Kiberian democracy, under a Kiberian bloc, with Kiberian aid. No, no, no. No nation has the mantle of a 'global policeman'. It is the League of Nation's duty to set up a fair system of government in accordance with its principles and Orwelsian culture."

The split between the First Secretary and Emperor has certainly raised eyebrows, however, the letter of congratulations still did receive a signature from Maximilian. Whilst Wilson's questioning of Kiberia was viewed as political pandering, the voice of His Imperial Majesty appears to have shifted opinion towards the Kiberian occupation, and it is expected this will be raised in the League's General Assembly in the coming weeks.

Either way, Syrasians can be thankful that a government which existed purely for terror has now been removed, and order has been restored to the Boreal Sea.

Cooperation agreement between the GCMN and IOFN

Last month, a delegation of Illionar diplomats travelled to Toledia for a conference held between them and the Kiberian officials regarding the IOFN and their relations towards the newly established GCMN. They floated the idea of the two organizations fusing together into a bigger global community, which would protect democratic governments as well as ensured free trade. However, the Illionari diplomats reiterated that the organization was for heightening voices of minor nationalities as well as help grow economies and was never intended to be a military alliance, so the fusion of both organizations would not sound feasible. They established that, given the members were spread out across the entire planet, it was be nearly impossible for them to coordinate militarily due to their differing strategic doctrines and small militaries.

In the end, Kiberian officials had even offered the GCMN IOFN military protection, mainly in the form of defending the open navigation of the seas. The Illionari diplomats quickly agreed to that proposal and agreed to give the IOFN a small cut from their income to supplement those military protections in order to ensure safe trade between the smaller members. The Illionari diplomats left Toledia satisfied with newly established relations between the two organizations as well as the GCMN being officially recognized as a legitimate organization.

Mixed feelings in the aftermath of the Kiberian victory

Headlines about the Kiberian victory over Orwelsia were plastered across all newspapers in Illionar in late December. The Kiberian military achieved it's ultimate goal of defeating the authoritarian government of Orwelsia and established an official democratic republic as well as welcomed them in the IOFN organization. However, while most of the nation showed their best congratulations towards Kiberia, some began to wonder what this meant for the future of the geopolitical climate within the boundaries of the Boreal Sea, which troughout history showed to be the most densely packed strategic area in the world. With Orwelsia joining the IOFN, the balance fell firmly in favour of the IOFN regarding the division of East and West Carnolia. While Illionar began with supporting East Carnolia remaining under the influence of Violetias signature dual monarchy, they have since slowly withdrawn support and took a neutral stance, despite their official UN vote remaining in favour of Syrasia. With troubles brewing in East Carnolia among it's populace, several Illionar relief organizations began planning foreign aid missions to East Carnolia in order to help sort the disorder that has been brewing in the nation for the past few weeks.

AVALON, Prena (TBC) - While the world gets ready for 2024, diplomats from four nations strewn across the North Meridis Sea and South Meridis Ocean have recently met in Prena's capital city to discuss several fields, including further cooperation, trade deals, sharing of military and naval bases, and collaboration in antipiracy/peacetime efforts. The nations represented at the meetings were Tvembov, Prena, New Sutherland, and Matomania.

"We hope that these talks can blossom into something special for all involved", President Lev Voronin was quoted saying regarding the situation, "Regardless of the countries involved, the Meridis and the people living in it will need someone to guard them from dangers that could threaten these waters, and the nations surrounding it. Tvembov will gladly fill that role whenever needed, and we will commend our fellow Meridians, who have shown willingness to do the same."

Voronin's comments have only fuelled rumors of a potential alliance between the nations represented at the talks. Whether or not said rumors will actually be true is yet to be seen, but regardless, the four nations may find what has been described as "Useful allies" in each other.
