3x Summerborn H5 HelicoptersThe Miyagi-class Aviation Battleships were approved in 1940, during Okayanos’ Wartime Fleet Expansion project. The project, started in March of 1940 shortly after Okayanos’ entrance into the Second World War, was simple- Okean naval designers would draft designs for ships, aircraft, and weapons, which would be kept in a secure database. This database would be accessed whenever a need for new equipment arose, and a suitable design would then be selected, refined, and built. The Fleet Expansion Database- known colloquially as the Artist’s Villa- was an important and vital piece of Okayanos’ wartime history, preserved as a museum in modern times.
The Miyagi class was one of the many concepts submitted, drafted originally by Isamu Tokunaga. Tokunaga’s proposal was an ‘all-purpose capital ship, capable of attacking with both artillery and air power’. As the Okean Navy began deploying the Miura class of Light Carriers in large numbers, discussion began of a hybrid ship. A ship with the characteristics of both a Battleship and an Aircraft Carrier would serve excellently as the leader of a Light Carrier Division, the Naval Council believed. Tokunaga’s proposal was chosen, and six ships of the type were ordered.
Northson-Nakagi, named after famed Okean aviator Junshiro Northson-Nakagi, was one of the first wave of Miyagi-class ships along with her sisters ONV Miyagi and ONV Felwether. While Miyagi was intended to be the first to launch, complications during her construction resulted in Northson-Nakagi being launched first. After her shakedown cruise completed, Northson-Nakagi was assigned as flagship of the Okean First Air Fleet. She notably served in Operation Pelican, an Okean attack on the mainland of San Har Jasta, as well as several other conflicts in the later half of the war.
While the Miyagi-class Aviation Battleships were not unsuccessful in their designated mission, Okean Naval Command found that the hybrid nature of the ships did not give them any notable advantages over ships built for a single role. The latter three Miyagi-class ships were redesigned and built as standard battleships, redesignated as the Radiance-class. The Radiance-class Battleships launched in 1944 and early 1945, and were the last battleship design built in Okayanos.
After the Second World War came to its end, the Wartime Fleet Expansion project was turned into a modernization plan. The new order of business was determining which vessels of the Okean fleet could be modified and updated to suit the changing nature of naval warfare. The Capital Ship Modernization Scheme, or CSMS, was one of the major parts of this.
It was decided early on to convert the Miyagi class into full Carriers. However, as the Carrier conversion began to move forward, issues of time and funding arose. Due to constraints of budget, not all of the Miyagi class could be fully converted. After a period of debate, in 1946 it was decided. Northson-Nakagi would be the odd one out. While her sisters underwent the full conversion, she would only be modernized.
Northson-Nakagi’s unique design among modern ships of the time caused her to garner a fair amount of attention- many Okean politicians met with foreign dignitaries aboard her, and she was featured in an issue of Popular Mechanics as ‘The Warship of Yesterday’s Future!’ During the Sanrantaru War of 1954, Northson-Nakagi was selected as the Okean First Fleet’s flagship. She provided fire support to Okean marines landing on the shores of Sarantaru Isle, bombarding insurgent positions with her main guns.
Northson-Nakagi received an extensive modernization in 1978, removing much of her secondary battery and AA guns and adding missiles and CIWS systems. She continued in her role as the flagship of the Okean First Fleet throughout the Cold War era, engaging in peacekeeping operations around the world. Despite efforts to save her as a museum ship, Northson-Nakagi was sold for scrap in 1994. One of her main guns is displayed at the Okayanos Capital Building in Paradise, and many of the planes from her air groups are preserved to this day in museums. She is survived by her sister ships Felwether and Miyagi and half-sister ONV Radiance, who remain as museum ships in the modern day.

1x anti-submarine helicopter drone (1976 refit)ONV Sada was a Deshi-class Destroyer ordered in 1941, as part of the Okayanos Wartime Fleet Expansion project. The Deshi class was an upgraded version of the preceding Jusha class of Destroyers, with only moderate upgrades and a slightly longer hull. They would be the most widely produced Okean ship class in World War II, with 87 launched by 1945. When Sada's commission began, her first assignment was escort duty for the aging battleship ONV Tadakatsu. It was an unventful deployment, until December of 1942. Tadakatsu and her escort were deployed in Operation Pronghorn- a series of convoy raids against San Har Jastan shipping vessels, attempting to cut off supplies from the enemy's territories. In the last days of the month of December, Tadakatsu, Sada, a group of four cruisers, and three other destroyers (Miya, Aiso, and the older Kurosawa) moved into position to ambush a San Har Jastan convoy near the Pájaros Cantores archipelago. As Tadakatsu moved into position to fire her main guns, the Okean Fleet realized that they were not facing a mere shipping convoy- a force of San Har Jastan battleships, cruisers, and destroyers had assembled to guard the convoy. Before the Okeans could think of retreating, the San Har Jastans began to close to firing range. Tadakatsu radioed a message to the nearest alled fleet- another convoy raiding party, lead by her sister ship ONV Ieyasu- for assistance, and the Okean fleet prepared for the imminent clash.
The Battle of Pájaros Cantores was one of the largest naval battles fought between Okayanos and San Har Jasta, and was certainly the largest clash between battleships and other surface vessels. Tadakatsu engaged the San Har Jastan flagship, the old battleship SHJN Árbitro, in a gunnery duel that ended with a mutual kill. Okean Cruisers and Destroyers were torn between fighting off the San Har Jastan ships and rescuing Tadakatsu's crew. Though the San Har Jastan side lost a Battleship, one of five cruisers, and two of their six destroyers, Okean losses were much heavier. After Tadakatsu sank, Okayanos would also loose two cruisers, and every destroyer except for Sada. Sada and the surviving Okean cruiser ONV Uematsu beat a hasty retreat, uniting with Ieyasu's forces. The San Har Jastan pursuers were deterred when a single salvo from Ieyasu pierced the magazine of the cruiser SHJN Audaz, sinking the ship in a single hit. The legendary shot is a highly revered part of Okayanos' naval history, and it is generally believed that Ieyasu and her escorts would have been forced into extended combat had it not landed as it did.
Sada was allowed no rest. Mere months after minor repairs in port, she was deployed to escort ONV Northson-Nakagi in Operation Pelican. Though Sada suffered a direct hit from an aerial bomb, she continued fighting, landing a broadside of torpedoes on the battleship SHJN Prudencia, downing multiple San Har Jastan aircraft, and managing to deter a submarine from torpedoing the Northson-Nakagi. While Sada's survival of the Battle of Pájaros Cantores made her noteworthy, it was in Operation Pelican that she began to prove herself.
From escorting battleships and carriers to anti-submarine patrols, Sada's service in the second World War was as varied as it was eventful. The ship always seemed to find herself involved in the major battles of the war, and still managed to survive every time. Many sailors in Okayanos considered her to be supernaturally lucky- it was said that having Sada in your escort was a sign of assured success. By the war's end, she was the most decorated ship in the Okean Navy, retiring with 19 Silver Sunsets (Okean equivalent to battle stars) to her name.
And yet, history did not let Sada rest. Under the Escort Ship Modernization Scheme, or ESMS, Sada and all other surviving Deshi-class destroyers were to be retrofitted and returned to service. With much of the Okean naval budget tied up with larger ships, not enough small vessels could be built, and so instead the older ships would be updated. Sada continued her tireless duties in the Sanrantaru War, carrying out long range submarine patrols and engaging surface vessels. She claimed the only gun kill on an enemy vessel in the war, striking and crippling a surfaced insurgent submarine with her 5-inch shells.
Sada and the rest of her class were extensively modernized in 1976, spending a long period as testbeds for missile systems that would eventually be installed on Northson-Nakagi. She served in peacekeeping and patrol missions around the world throughout the rest of the Cold War era. Even when newer destroyers were built and added to the fleet, Sada and the Deshi-class proved to be more reliable than their designers ever imagined. Sada was finally removed from service in 1995, retiring after 53 years of active service. She was preserved as a museum ship, docked at Paradise Pier near the Okayanos Capital Building. A piece of scrap metal that tore from her hull during Operation Pelican is kept in the Okean Naval Institute to this day.

Yeah, the never RP'd before might be the larger problem, seeing that I require a sample... tell you what, I do plan to host other Shipgirl-RPs in the future. Maybe by then you either have a RP-sample from here or I don't have that requirement, but I will keep you posted either way?

Seems fair, I'll set up an application in a bit
Also am I allowed to use a fictional ship of a real world navy?

Depends. What exactly did you have in mind?
I will however veto it, if you want to play as HMS Pinafore or some other fictional ship of another author (he or she can still sing about being a British Tar, though ; )).

Launched: March 25th, 1939
Commissioned: September 27th, 1940
Culinary Concerns: None
Medical Concerns: Due to a HE shell that exploded in her face during a relatively minor naval engagement in the Aestas Sea, Cinnamon Ridge is about 40% blind in her right eye and about 10% blind in her left eye
Notes: Here's her ship

Have you read and understood the rules?
Those Fuel tanks must give a lot of range!

Depends. What exactly did you have in mind?
I will however veto it, if you want to play as HMS Pinafore or some other fictional ship of another author (he or she can still sing about being a British Tar, though ; )).
Does it specifically have to be a Ship from a book?
Actually nvm I've got a new idea!App for A Festival of Stars

Pending - I do require a RP-Sample. Once you have one, gimme the link, please.
For the record, HMS Pinafore was more an example (and a chance to reference to Gilbert's and Sullivan's most famous operetta, thanks to Star Trek ; )). I'd veto any ship fitting within the rules but from a movie, play, book or video game, in other words, not original (no matter how much Red October stands by).
