Throughout the past week, the Worldvision Committee met to discuss the current rules of the WorldVision Song Contest. Some of these rules were unwritten ones that we wanted to officiate, while some are new. The following determinations were made, following a Committee vote:

1a) Hard Deadlines: Do you think that ENTRY POSTING should have a hard deadline or soft deadline?

Soft: 5 (All)
Hard: 0 (None)

1b) Hard Deadlines: Do you think that VOTING should have a hard deadline or soft deadline?

Hard: 3 (Carrelie, MCG, Aenglide)
Soft: 2 (Brit, Alezia)

Thus from WV102, the voting deadline always remain hard.

1c) Deadlines Timing: Should deadlines move to 23:59 UK Time or remain at 20:00 UK Time?

Thus from WV102, all deadlines will move to 23:59 UK Time, including the above hard deadline.

2a) In order to vote on host bids, nations must have participated in at least one of the past three editions of the contest.

With the Jury/Televote split coming after the new strike system was implemented, we have decided to make this an official rule. Not voting at all (whether accidentally or on purpose) will result in a one-edition ban.

2d) Users will receive a strike if they do not declare on the OOC thread that they officially withdrawn from the contest before the deadline, if they've posted on the IC Thread.

3) Should the committee have the choice to reject host bids?

Thus from WV103 (as the bidding race has already begun for 102), bids can be rejected if they do not fit a certain criteria which the committee will set out in due course.

Questions 4 and 5 are about how the Committee will run behind closed doors, including adopting a rota which can be spoken about at a later date.

6) The committee reserves the right to question why a nation has voted for other nations as long as the majority agrees.

Thus, from WV102, votes that are deemed suspicious, whether televote or jury will be investigated and a member of the committee will approach the user if the votes are deemed questionable (majority decision). This could result in being asked to modify your votes.

7) If there are no host bids during the host period, should the committee intervene?

No, extend it for a week: 1 (Aenglide)

Thus, from WV103, If there are no bids in the first two weeks, there is no extension - the committee will begin to plan a contest.

7a) If 7 "YES" wins, when there are no host bids during the host period, instead of extending sign ups:

Joint hosting: 4 (MCG, Carrelie, Aenglide, Alezia)
A member of the committee is elected host: 1 (Brit)

If there are no bids in the first two weeks, the Committee will jointly host the contest.

8) The Committee reserves the right to intervene in a hosting to ensure that it is complete to the best of its ability.

The Committee has the right to intervene, help or rescind the hosting rights of a user if they do not live up to the expectations of hosting (ie inactivity, lack of dialogue between committee and host, not completing the televote or postcards).

WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST 102

MRX Television would like to invite you back to celebrate the 102nd WorldVision Song Contest in Thatcher City, the sprawling metropolis that is the capital, and indeed the capitol, of Mister X. The contest will be simplistic, with an emphasis on efficiency rather than gimmicks. For once, the WorldVision Song Contest will not go over its broadcast hours! Your hosts for the evening will be renowned MRX Television commentators Robert Baxter and Sam Smith, who will, in a masterclass of multitasking, also intend to provide their trademark screwball commentary for MRX viewers. This is, of course, not the first time Mister X will have hosted the contest, having hosted in WorldVision 34, WorldVision 59, and WorldVision 77, but we think WorldVision 102 will be a major upgrade on our three previous hostings.

Having not bid for the contest since WorldVision 94, we believe it is time for the WorldVision circus to return to Mister X for an evening of professional but sleek fun. Our bid is inspired by the turn of the Millennium, a time of great hope and expectation for many.

THATCHER CITY: A GUIDE

Thatcher City is the oldest city in Mister X and is also the capital. Thatcher City can guarantee you a fantastic view across a fantastic river, especially at night, where every night people come together to party the night away after a long hard day's work. People are, generally speaking, able to do whatever they like, all with a stunning backdrop of the Heath river, which serves to make sure that Thatcher City has some of the cleanest natural water supply in all of Mister X. "But how do I get around?", I hear you ask. Well, fear not, for Thatcher City has, thanks to the transport budget, built its own metro system, enabling you to get to anywhere within one hour. Specifically, the map has been designed so the shortest route between any two stations will be no less than one hour in duration, but we won't blame you if you take a detour, there's so much to see and do! The trains are also automatic and have all been fitted with the necessary safety precautions and air conditioning. Some people come together to hold regular competitions to see who can do the entire network in the quickest time. At night, Thatcher City comes alive. Thatcher City never sleeps, from working hard in the day, they then spend their massive wages amongst Thatcher City's nightclubs and bars. Thatcher City's night time economy accounts for a vast amount of Mister Xian GDP. This sprawling metropolis is the perfect backdrop for the 102nd WorldVision Song Contest. Thatcher City has seen many changes. Today, it's a bustling hive of all sorts of activities and cities, with nightclub attendances up 70,000% since WorldVision 34. In WorldVision 34, there were fields around the outskirts of the city, but such is the pace of development that it's perhaps better to say that nowadays, the outskirts are factories, whereas the middle is all fields. We're keen to grow our own crops and create an export-led economy, and Thatcher City is the epitomisation of globalisation. Thatcher City have always been peacefully radical. In 2001, they returned a TRP (The Right Party) candidate, saying they didn't like him very much, and could they please have another one. As the law of the land says, if the sheep lie down, it's because they're dead.

THE STAGE

The Johnson Arena is representative of the innovation in Mister X. It can hold 50,000 people and features one of the most modern safety systems in the world. Built by the Great Architect Kroagnon, he was so proud of his work prior to his death that he refused to let anyone enter it until he died lest they damage it, feeling that humans effectively "polluted" his perfection of the vision that was the Johnson Arena.

The stage, therefore, has not been designed by Kroagnon, but by former Mister Xian spokesperson Gareth Batty. This stage encompasses the best of all worlds, with the audience seated in 360 degree vision, but also unlike most "round" stages, this stage has a clear front, three video screens (one at the front of the stage and two in the back), as well as a monumental moment to Xian architecture and other important stuff. We're actually not sure, it's been there for so long.

The contest has been centred around the latest in Mister Xian technology. The latest graphics packages are designed to look sleek, professional, and glossy. Moreover, the postcards, as with all Mister X hostings, will be placed directly in the thread, rather than linked to.

Additionally, we are intending to use a three-colour system, which you can see above. Yellow and blue at the start (and not yet "qualified" to finish), blue/grey when their jury has voted, and then blue/black when they've received their televotes.

As per some successful usages in the past, MRX Television plans to make the graphics set available to everyone to provide their votes for WorldVision 102, downloadable in a .zip file with the official WorldVision fonts. Furthermore, we hope to release the televote results as a long-form video, rather than spamming the forum every 3 minutes.

This is ambitious, but we have always been at the cutting edge of technology, and pride ourselves on our sleek-looking graphic designs.

No news has recently been confirmed by HSBC, the broadcaster for The Hlhata States at the WorldVision Song Contest. Though, ahead of the Big Reveal: The Hlhata States (the televised 30-minute show on HSBC1 which presents the WorldVision entry through live performance, an interview and live opinions) it seems as though an eagled-eye fan has spotted what seems to be the entry for The Hlhata States at the WorldVision Song Contest that has been posted at 12 AM as of the 1st October 2022.

Katt Albans is the radio show host for HSBC's main radio station who is the radio commentator for the WorldVision Song Contest in The Hlhata States. Katt has said many times in the past that if she was given the opportunity, she'd represent The Hlhata States in the WorldVision Song Contest. Composers also include Viktor Nelson, an Ekozian-Hlhataneseian who was behind the Britonish 54th WorldVision Song Contest entry "Jekyll and Hyde" which came 9th and Etela Tomac's "I Was Dancing With Stars". He also has an entry submitted to Vha Mehlodhivestoile 2023.
