Welcome to the official Llaltese bid
for the
101st Worldvision Song Contest!
~ With a 100 editions of Worldvision behind us, Llalta hopes to lead the multiverse into the new millennia with a bid that promises to push the boundaries of Worldvision hosting, opening the new era with a shining light! We would love to elevate Worldvision upwards, the only place where people of all backgrounds can come together, to find a sanctuary in the symphony! A place where we are bound by the medium of song, people sharing and celebrating their differences with music.
We’d like to welcome you once again to the shining star of the Atlantic Ocean, St. Christopher, the capital city of Llalta! Since our debut in Worldvision 65, Llalta has only hosted the prestigious contest once before, in Worldvision 83, where we welcomed the world to "Wish Upon A Star" in St.Christopher! As the nation's first Worldvision hosting, the contest served as a step into the island of Llalta, where Llalta's diverse beliefs and traditions were shown to 41 competing nations, among the many others watching. 17 editions later, and the LBN hopes to host once again. However, the LBN promises an extension of Worldvision 83, a realised vision that builds upon Llalta's music and culture, past and present! This bid aims to build upon the foundations of what is known about Llalta, showcasing a different side than seen ever before!
After a long year of planning, designing and finalising every detail, the LBN can finally present to you our fully realised vision:
~ ~
Sanctuary in the Symphony!
~
100 editions of nations coming together to celebrate one another, people finding happiness and hope in every song and symphony; that is the message this bid aims to deliver. We hope you enjoy as you read onwards, in a journey as beautiful as song...
The slogan that was decided for this edition is, "Sanctuary in the Symphony"!
This theme represents our hope for the contest, and especially this bid, to deliver the spirit of Worldvision: coming together to celebrate all the cultures of the world through music. To create a sanctuary where people can find harmony in each song and melody. Music is one of the most powerful mediums, as well as one of the most universal, so our theme is our ode to music and musicians, bridges that allow us to feel unnameable emotions and to connect us to one another, one of the few shared languages we have in an ever beautifully complex world of all kinds of people. Music can get us through our darkest time, and elate us to our highest highs. This bid is a representation of the power of music, how everyone can find a "sanctuary in the symphony". Our hope is that this bid is able to heal the hearts of all with the music we create.
As music weaves us all together, our slogan is the fundamental heart and soul of the bid, with every design decision and musical choice woven together by it. We hope our message resonates with you as it does to us, as people who hold music sacrosanct to their lives, as people who live for music!
The logo is also fundamental to the bid, representing the message of our bid in a single graphic that represents everything the bid entails. Carefully designed by Llaltese graphic designer Angel Haffenburg, the logo features multiple elements, from the stylised gold '101' that is at the forefront of the design, to the abstract crown/palace emblem at the back of the design, the logo is complex yet elegant, something grand, worthy to represent a landmark edition. As stated, the golden '101' at the heart of the logo is one of the defining features of the logo, gothic and abstract, a daring design that features heavily in the graphics of the bid and hosting. The crown/palace design at the back represents 2 things: firstly, a crown, crowning the 101st contest, an achievement worth celebrating. It also represents the distant skyline of a city or palace, a beautiful place of music that portrays the the slogan, a "sanctuary in the symphony". The distant sanctuary we seek in music.
The colours main colours used are white, navy and gold, the colours of the Llaltese flag. Not only is this a colour combination associated with royalty and the night sky, but it also keeps true to national colours, much like the logo design of Worldvision 83. A signature trademark of Llaltese bids and designs that allows the logo to be easily identifiable as Llaltese, a personal touch that represents Llalta.
Overall the design is heavily stylised with unique fonts and designs unseen in any Worldvision before, beautifully twisted yet elegant. A design that is central to our bid, one that is as meaningful as it is striking!
~
For the 101st Worldvision, the LBN has decided to put forth a theme song to represent this edition, a leitmotif that can be used in Worldvision 101 promotional media as well as integrated throughout the show, tying the contest together musically. The song is aptly named "Sanctuary in the Symphony", written and performed by previous Llaltese Worldvision representative, Himiko Arden. Written especially for this bid in early 2022, the song aims to encapsulate everything this bid stands for in one acoustic anthem, a song about finding joy and sanctuary in the music of life.
~ Sanctuary in the Symphony by Himiko Arden~
It’s hard to live
In the dissonance, and I
Can't tell between, yeah
Major or minor key
But sometimes I cannot face the future
I never seem to be any stronger, when
The music, lifts me from, this daydream
The emotions I cannot hide, like fireworks
So I sing out, sing louder
So the whole world can hear me
Even in the silence
In the cacophony
There is a melody
And then everything harmonises
A sanctuary in the symphony
That can set you free
The song of the soul

Llalta is a tiny island located in the northern seas of the Atlantic Ocean. Only 2,861 km² big, the nation is one of Worldvision's smallest, with a population of only 3,136. With over 95% of the island being forest, grass lands or agriculture, the island has one of the lowest population densities in the multiverse with 1.1/km². Being such an isolated nation, multiple unique cultures, flora and fauna have made Llalta their home, with many native animals and plants natural only to Llalta. This is furthered by Llalta's position on a major fault line, where earthquakes have formed the grand peaks and valleys of the Albanthia Mountain Range, which in turn have produced volcanoes which pave the way for numerous plant species to thrive, such as the Llaltese Star of the Valley flower, due to the nourishment of volcanic activity. The jagged cliff faces have also made homes for many a seabird, who seek Llalta's refuge from the turbulent waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
Founded in 1862, 30 years after it's discovery, Llalta grew as a mining island, with extensive coal reserves being found deep under the Albanthia Mountain Range. It's notable position between two major landmasses also lead to the construction of St.Christopher, which is a major port town. From the mysterious forests and sea partnered with it's isolation, numerous unique cultures and beliefs have sprung from it's one-of-a-kind discovery. Many of which are still prominent in Llaltese life to do this day, dependent on the seasons to live on with agriculture, fishing and farming. With industries such as fishing, flowers, dyes and cotton being Llalta's biggest exports, the island is one entrenched in the arts, especially with it's connection with nature that has come from living in such a weird and wonderful place where one's relationship with nature was once important for one's survival.
Since it's Worldvision debut in Worldvision 65, Rouen, Normandy & Picardy, Llalta has shown a wide range of musical styles, from pop, to experimental to songs that are enshrined in Llaltese traditions. Llalta has also won once in Worldvision 82 and hosted the edition after, and with 6 top 5 placements under it's name, Llalta has certainly been a presence within the prestigious contest. With a unique vision that has stemmed from a unique past and present, the tiny island nation is one that is never afraid to show it's true colours, yet also balance quality and modern aesthetics with it's traditions that have been cultivated in such an isolated island. A colour that shines the brightest with this bid!
St.Christopher is the capital city of Llalta, with a population of 2,986, St.Christopher is Llalta's blossoming heart, with a vibrant community that is entrenched in agriculture, community and nature. As Llaltese folk tales state, the lights of St.Christopher glitter like a horizon of stars, guiding those lost at sea to shore. Founded in the late 19th Century, St.Christopher has buildings as old as Llalta, now painted by colourful murals by those who love St.Christopher the most. Due to it's relationship with nature and community, art flourishes within every soul who lives here, a multitude of renowned singers and artists making the star of the sea their home. Clustered around the Albanthia River, St.Christopher is steeped in unique traditions and a beautiful culture, where horse and carriage can still be seen roaming upon cobbled streets and Thursday/Saturday markets as prominent as ever, with their fresh produce and fresh fish sacrosanct to the people who make and consume them. Seemingly in the space where past and present align, Llalta is somewhat scarce in terms of technology, with few cars and phones. However, this does not mean the nation is locked in the past, as day by day the town becomes a small hub for the future, with modern technologies regarding sustainability and recycling ever growing in unorthodox ways, just as one might expect from such an isolated population. The town is also a major port at the heart of the Atlantic, meaning ships pass by like the wind. As a result, many St.Christopher residents have learnt morse code and sea flag code, 'languages' that few seem to know. Surrounding by the lands and sea, nature is an important cornerstone in St.Christopher, the port town filled with myths of the sea and of the land. This is not only in part due to their reliance on the land and seas to provide them nourishment and shelter, but also the interactions between people and nature that the nurturing St.Christopher residents have fostered. Winding trees lining nearly every street and a flourish of green and flora with every direction you turn, the town is no stranger to the beauty of nature. One might even spot a deer or fox or bird along the hidden alleyways of St. Christopher, gentle interaction encouraged, as embracing nature is something of most importance in Llalta.
~
Transportation around St.Christopher is extensive, with multiple bus lines running through the town, as well as access to St.Christopher train station, which goes from St.Christopher to Lilliannes. Handled by the Llaltese Transport Office, visitors may want to get their hands on a LTP (Llalta Travel Pass), a monthly travel pass that allows the owner to travel on any transport service, including boat, as long as their card is on them. For those on a budget however, St.Christopher is extremely walk-friendly, with many streets and pavements allowing easy access from one place to another. Furthermore, due to it's small size, one is able to comfortably walk from place to place within 30 minutes at the most, meaning nothing is ever too far away.
Both major transport options will run special lines in the weeks surrounding the 101st Worldvision Song Contest, with new bus routes featuring carbon-neutral busses running to and from the Millennium Hall, as well as the inclusion of a temporary train station that will be a mere 5 minutes walk from the venue. Taxis and carsharing is also available. With the clearing of a new temporary road between St.Christopher and the Millennium Hall, car access will be easier than ever. Each option will run extended hours and with more efficiency during the Worldvision week, as to handle the predicted numbers of visitors and delegations that will potentially more than double the islands population during Worldvision.
As for accommodation, St.Christopher has no shortage of locally run inns, hotels and campsites within an hours journey from the Millennium Hall. For a more comfortable stay, St.Christopher has 18 inns and hotels scattered around, each with upwards of 20 rooms. All are within a 5 minute walk from the nearest bus stop and a 20 minute walk from the nearest train station. Quality food is a staple of Llaltese inns, using local produce and fresh fish, and hotels without their own restaurant or bar are within a 5 minute walk from the nearest restaurant or café. For those who want to feel one with the Llaltese lands, there are 20 campsites on the Southern half of the island of Llalta, with much of the Llaltese land being able to be camped upon, though heavy fines are the price of ecological damage, such as littering and large amounts of fire. However, transportation is less accessible in outer campsites. Despite this, camping is encouraged, as one can only truly experience the Llaltese nature through sleeping amongst the fields and mountains. In order to keep up with the large amounts of visitors and delegations alike, 4 temporary accommodation is to be built in the event that Llalta hosts the contest. These 4 temporary accommodation are large scale sites, with upwards of 500 rooms with each area. The hotels are also carbon free and pollution free, built using shipping containers and furniture, piping etc. being recycled from sea litter found on Llaltese shores within the past 20 years. Power will also be taken directly from renewable energy sources and all products being recyclable or biodegradable. After the contest, the hotels will be removed and recycled to leave zero impact on the Llaltese environment. Engineered by Britonish students, the accommodation would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Worldvision fans, with an exciting experience awaiting.
Llalta is known for their unorthodox venues, and the LBN has made sure to provide yet another for this bid. Previous Llaltese hostings had been in ships and fields, Worldvision 101 would be held in a temporary venue built especially for the contest. This venue would be named the 'Millennium Hall' and would an eco-friendly and sustainable solution which combats issues such as small audience numbers and unconventional spaces faced by previous bids by Llalta. The Millennium Hall is a large hall made which is formed entirely out of recycled materials, mainly plastic. Located just south of the Albanthia Mountain Range that covers a majority of Llalta, the exterior is made out of multiple slabs of recycled plastic which fit together like puzzle pieces. This allows the venue to be easily dissembled and reassembled without the use of bulldozers or explosions. This also means the venue can be easily transported elsewhere, whether it be another festival or event. Once Worldvision 101 is over, the Millennium Hall will be stored in Llalta for other uses. The venue also has no carbon footprint and creates no pollution, due to it's manufacturing methods as well as being powered entirely by renewable energy. Designed for the contest by Britonish engineers since 2021, the venue can support an audience of up to 7,500, with 1,000 standing spots in the floor of the hall, the largest indoor venue in Llalta.
Inside the venue is a space far larger than it seems on the outside. With a large entrance and a bar, the venue is fitted with all the necessary equipment and space required for a spectacle such as Worldvision. The venue has also been fitted with heaters, extensive electronic systems as well as common rooms for people to gather and relax, including private backstage spaces for delegations. With as tight spacing as the Millennium Hall, each centimetre has been used to it's fullest, each and every space being used for something. Surrounding the venue would be lots of housing for staff, as well as tents providing food and water for delegations and visitors. A few tents will be relegated for press conferences, microphone checks, as well as numerous other behind the scenes business that is unable to fit inside.
Despite it's location being far from any major transport routes or towns, in the weeks surrounding the contest, carbon neutral busses will be driven between St.Christopher and the Millennium Hall via specially branded busses. Furthermore, the fields between the two will be cleared and flattened briefly. The hall also sits on the main train line between St.Christopher, Lilliannes and the old Mines, meaning that the train schedule will be increased to provide easier access. Surrounding the venue will be 4 temporary accommodation, each with their own bus routes that will open specifically for the contest.
The stage, also known as 'The Ark', is the largest stage from a Llaltese bid, designed by Llaltese designer Curtis Abernacky. Consisting of the main stage, a walkway, and a smaller satellite stage, The Ark is fitted with all the Worldvision essentials that create the diverse array of performances from every entry, with pyrotechnics, sparks and other forms of fireworks able to be produced onstage. Whilst sparks and pyrotechnics are relegated to the edges of the stage, sparks can also fall from the back of the stage, like a curtain of stars. As for LEDs, they cover nearly every surface of the stage, except the walkway. The stage is also lined by LED strips. Behind are a large array of LED fixtures, most notably the sun-like piece that is central, representing the rising star that guides one to their dreams, the star of a Llaltese folktale. The centre is a complete LED screen, with normal lights surrounding the centre like rays. This fixture can be raised up or down, to create varying atmospheres, though it is not advised to do this mid performance as it is extremely slow. Under the sun is a low strip of LEDs, the main source of LEDs for ones performance given it's eye level placement. Various bands and rings of LED lights circle outwards from the centre stage, various lighting fixtures within the space not covered by LEDs, all able to produce high quality pictures that can elevate your performance. 2 screens either side of the stage project the camera's view on them, though they can be utilised as normal LED screens if so desired. The stage and LEDs behind are 20m high and over 40m wide. The main stage itself is an oval shape which is 12m wide and 10m across. The walkway is approximately 20m long and the satellite stage has a diameter of 7m.
The graphics featured in this bid are as consistent with the theme and logo as possible, with white, gold and navy being featured prominently alongside other design features of the logo. This extends to more important graphics, such as scoreboards and postcards, to create an aesthetically seamless bid that stays true to itself in each and every way it can. We hope our weird and wonderful sanctuary of song is represented as clearly as possible with every design and graphic, immersing you in our unique sanctuary!
The postcards for this bid are simple yet effective. Featuring all the necessary details, such as nation, song title, artist name and running order, what makes each postcard unique are the colours used for the number and nation name. Both are coloured in the 2 most prominent colours on the nation's flag, of which, is placed on one end of the postcard. In the event a nation only has one or two colours (including white) on their flag, colours will be repeated in order to stay faithful to the colours on the flag. The postcard is also styled like a banner, so that it is space efficient, able to placed atop one's entry as well as in a list, which will be used for the list of participating nations.
Here are 2 postcards as examples, with 2 varying colour schemes to show the variety achieved by a simple change.
~
The scoreboard is sleek, yet retains many design elements of other aspects of the bid. With the hosts seen through the zero, the scoreboard can be extended to fit any amount of participants. We have also included a picture of what a semi-final reveal may look like.
We will also prepare a graphics pack for all delegations with all the all the necessary design components to include in their entries, such as Worldvision 101 logos, design features and an extensive array of unique graphics that delegations can use in their graphics, banners etc. A voting template will also be provided, with a simple layout so that one can create uniform voting graphics as efficiently as possible. The graphics pack will also include the fonts and RGB & Hex codes for all the main colours that feature in our bid, so that any designs delegation's wish to create are able to replicate the graphics of our bid for their own entry! The LBN is also able to provide any custom designs and graphics for any delegation's who want them.
The show is set out to be one of the most ambitious Llaltese shows yet! With a multitude of famous acts lined up to perform (with even more in the event of semi-finals), the LBN hopes to provide a spectacular show for a night or three. Our aim is to convey our message through a story that can only be told through the medium of song and dance, told throughout the opening and interval acts of the show, to create a show that Worldvision will never forget!
For the upcoming Worldvision, the LBN has lined up 3 presenters from all around the world, from all stages of experience. Following long time Erik McGarrisson's, who presented both the World Hit Festival 48 as well as Worldvision 83 as well as commentating for every edition Llalta has participated in, retirement from the industry, the LBN has chosen 3 rising stars to succeed him, hopefully showcasing the upcoming talent of the future!

OOC Details I hope you enjoyed! I have been working on this since last year, so I really hope the hard work shows and I hope the improvements are evident! This is a project that has pushed me to my limits, so I am glad I have completed it, even if I do not win. Some of it was even drawn and designed by hand, such as a majority of the logo, and lots of editing was involved to make it look as cohesive as it is now! It's one that I can definitely be proud of for years to come, and one that is full of references, colours and designs that really resonate with me, so I hope my passion shines through! And yes, this bid has Kingdom Hearts inspiration, though more so than I realized and intended. I suppose great minds think alike?
Before you go, I'd quickly like to go through a few OOC details here and answer some questions that I deem important to answer and clear up, including the semi-final format.
~ Semi-finals ~
I would very much be up to hosting semi-finals if the opportunity arises, and I will definitely be able to facilitate it. I would probably continue a similar structure to that of Worldvision 100 in order to keep consistency, though I will be putting forth improvements and ideas if this bid wins. However, I will make sure to take into account suggestions that were not used the edition prior, as well as any that come my way this edition!
As for now however, here are some I would use (and I know it is very similar to Besen's format, but I like his idea a lot! I hope he takes it as a compliment):
- 36 entries to trigger semi-finals
- 1 draft thread (replacing what would have been the grand final thread), 2 semi final threads and 1 grand final thread
- 3 Atlantic listenalongs + 3 Pacific listenalongs
- 10 qualifiers from each semi
- 6 Automatic qualifiers using the same system as last edition
- A final of 26 entries
Of course with higher number of entries this format would change slightly (qualifiers + grand final number), scaling with more participants, though I doubt that will be necessary given the usual number of Worldvision participants. However, it is important to note anyway.
In the event of semi-finals, I would also like to do draws and pots to decide semi-finals. I hope that's alright.
~ Miscellaneous Details ~
- I will be opting for a soft deadline.
- Atlantic listenalongs will most likely be at 10pm GMT.
- In the event of semis, semi-final listenalongs would be a 2 days apart, emulating Eurovision semi-finals.
- I would like to involve people into the hosting, so in the event this bid wins, do not be afraid if I appear in DMs asking questions for interviews and the like.
- Unfortunately, I will not be combining the list of nations and parade of nations as I did in Worldvision 83. However, any RP included in your entries about the parade of nations will be included in the parade of nations.
- If I host, I would love to provide plenty of RP opportunities on and off site, and I will try to be active on the LBN twitter to provide charts, interviews, statistics etc. and would love if the community joined in too to create a vibrant WV101!
- This is definitely unimportant tbh, but if this bid won, I would love to have a cute little custom emoji in the WV/WHF/IBA Discord, and I will FIGHT for it, even if it gets removed after the edition is over. This would be just like the diamond emoji from the World Hit Festival 60 that Brit made. This is what I'd like it to be like:
I hope this becomes a Worldvision staple, regardless whether I host this edition or not, as I'd love to see custom emojis! - Something I would like to note is that I do understand I have a reputation of being relatively inconsistent in terms of Worldvision work and deadlines. However, I assure you that I will be doing my best to make sure this can be my first completed hosting if this bid wins. Unlike previous hostings, I finally know how to make and edit scoreboards efficiently, as well as creating graphics faster, things that have only come with the experience I did not have back then. Furthermore, my mental state is significantly better so I truly believe I can make it through the whole hosting! I have also planned my RP relatively thoroughly, meaning I will be able to finish it within a suitable time. I may even begin to write RP over the voting week just in case, so that the IC thread can be put up soon after the reveal. As for postcards, this will actually be my first time doing them (lol), so I may take a little longer, though I will be opting for designs I can complete relatively quickly.
I do believe I can finish this hosting, televote reveal included, so if you have faith in me, I will do my very best! I hope 3rd times a chance - An important note: given the popularity of live shows and gifs I will be upfront about their inclusion: please do not expect any from me. That is definitely not where my talents lie, sorry =(. As much as I'd like to be able to, I do not see the widespread of use of gifs and videos to be utilised in my hosting as I am not good at that at all and that would pushing past an already ambitious bid (ambitious for me anyway lool). In the event I have a spare time during the host, I may create some gifs to include in my host RP and fun one-off videos for people to indulge in. However, I will not provide anything in terms of animated scoreboards, animated postcards, live shows etc. so if that is something you hold sacrosanct when picking a host, please keep in mind that is not my forte and animated features may/will not be used.
