2022 Pride Riots (IC/MT/TG to enter)

Riot Police have been arresting gay men, masculine lesbians and polyamorous people for drug offences, public orders offences and a range of other crimes.

This has lead to riots in Cantport City.
So far 2 seemingly peaceful demonstrators, three police officers and a four rioters have been injured with 850 people being taken into police custody.
Of the injured three rioters and two police officers are in critical conditions.

Many buildings have been vandalised by both sides.

As we look out into the world, we can see every day new forms of moral depravity, intellectual and ethical degeneracy, and old-style barbarism. Drug prohibitionists, militant teetotallers, and self-described ‘social conservatives’ – which are neither social, nor conservative – continue inventing new excuses to trample on their fellow men, women, and others, to beat people with police batons, to arrest, imprison, and kill.

Of course, it is a truism to say that we should be grateful to the deities of our respective religions, Jesus, Allah, Jehowah, the Gods, or the Illustrious Ancestors, for helping us protect the freedom and civilization of which our nation is rightfully proud. It is a truism because it is true.

But what can we do about the world? As Freemen, as residents of the global community we cannot remain silent about the foolish, ignorant, and cruel actions that we see every day on the news. Neither can we use our nation’s not-inconsiderable power to fix every problem and right every wrong.

As we know, the priority of the Crown’s foreign policy is a focus on counteracting slavery and genocide. We avoid, as much as possible, the use of direct pressure to deal with lesser issues, and seek cooperation even with those states that are not always as advanced culturally as the Free Kingdom.

But there are ways in which our country can – and does – assist people who are vulnerable to foolish and short-sighted measures by states and terror groups around the world. We welcome people who are targeted by drug legislation, anti-LGBT measures, and other forms of oppression, we invite them here, we encourage them to come to our country.

The Drug Refugee Act and the Gun Refugee Act are specifically in place to provide economic support to people who have suffered from prohibitionist legislation in their former countries, and to aid them in integrating in the Free Kingdom.

So once again, let me assure the honored audience: we are not silent.

And let me assure those who are viewing this in foreign countries, who are afraid for their lives and their liberty:

You are accepted.

You are invited.

However people who have committed sex crimes (being gay is not classified as a sex crime) or attacked police are imprisoned and/or receive corporal punishment.

IC: This is described as a "provocation" and laws are being drafted to stop serving Hyidaian soldiers from visiting the country "without lawful excuse".

The bill passes, Hyidaian soldiers who travel to Cantport "without a good reason" (and protesting doesn't count as a good reason) is liable to birching up to 10 strokes or imprisonment of up to five years, in either case an unlimited fine is available as well or instead.
