ETV1 presents WorldVision 99 - English language commentary by Cerin Erali and Flynn Taggart

Model and entertainer. Upbeat and fairly easy to please but sometimes he'll give criticism or comments on songs, regardless of whether or not he likes them. Expect positive comments from him, especially since my personal thoughts on the songs usually tend to lean closer to his opinions. Despite what the picture shows, he doesn't actually smoke. Calls Flynn "Fleen" because Y in the Iyilim alphabet is a consonant so it kept coming out as "Fluh-yeen", Flynn told him to pretend there's an I in it instead of a Y.

Ice hockey goaltender turned talk show host. Incredibly cynical and miserable to the point where he might seem a bit dickheadish. Almost always speaks in a flat monotone. Brought in not just as a foil to Cerin and his positive attitude but also because the two are friends off-camera. Will still give some positive comments on songs if they please him.

CE: And this is pretty good too. After that debut that went on a bit too long, Erie-Arcadia have sent a nice bit of 90s-sounding alt-rock. I like it.

FT: We all knew the dud had to come eventually.
CE: Oh don't be like that! I'm quite fond of it, if only because it reminds me of that 2000s dance song with the music video I wasn't allowed to watch. It feels like a modern remake and has the problems, yes, but it's still worth listening to. Worth watching too. I'd definitely bump it after the contest.
FT: The chorus isn't good, though.
CE: Oh yeah, we can chuck that.

FT: Did she run to the arena? All the way from Scotatrova?
CE: Either that or she's done an all-nighter for 13 years. But at least when they sing together it works surprisingly well. Adds some real body too.
FT: You'd know about that more than I would.
CE: Staging's brilliant too, I should mention.

CE: Why is this strangely compelling? Seriously, I like this, I know I like this, but I can't put my finger on why I like it so much.

FT: Why does she sing like someone slammed her pot in a kitchen drawer?
CE: I don't know either but I also kind of like this? Her singing takes some getting used to but other than that I don't see why this shouldn't get a few points.

CE: His vocals are good. The music, less so. It takes too long to get going and it just feels a bit of a chore to listen to.

CE: The beat sounds too bombastic, too slick, too overproduced. Her vocals don't really fit it that well either. But it should definitely surprise us all.

CE: I don't see why we won't see a repeat here. It's a nice, fun, 90s-sounding house party bop. It got me grooving all the way up here.

CE: I was about to say. Anyway, it's what you'd expect from Ertzei Kishim but with a slight synthwavey twist. This will definitely do well. Not much else to say, really.

CE: It's not a bad tune. I can definitely hear why it won it even though it wasn't my favourite, it's very atmospheric. It feels a bit overproduced, which is why I'm not as crazy about it, but it's still good for what it is.
FT: And the staging?
CE: Considering your average Britonish stage person could put on an excellent show in their sleep, I don't think there's much for me to say that I haven't said about them in the past.

CE: This isn't bad. It's got a nice driving beat, it's very athletic and I imagine it'd be a blast at parties.
FT: *sigh* But...
CE: But it never starts. It just sounds like an intro all the way through. The first time I listened to this song I was waiting for the melody to kick in but it never did. If it did, it would be my personal 12 points and something I would play the whole night.

CE: Eh, I still vibe with it. It kind of reminds me of StrayaRoos' entry earlier. Thinking about it, are they the same person?
FT: Does anyone care?
CE: Probably not but this should get a good score. It deserves it, regardless of whether or not our juries give it anything. Another song to possibly keep on my playlist after the contest's over.

FT: It's what's going on when people lose their morals and values. Think Lord of the Flies for a really bad example.

CE: Music's quite good even if it doesn't really stand out a ton. But his vocals? Pure brilliance. They carry this song without breaking a sweat.

CE: I'd say this'd be a bit out of character for Tobulim but they've actually sent metal before and it's worked quite well.
FT: They won WorldVision 77 with it as well.
CE: That they have. And this song also works quite well. Vocals could be a bit better but as it stands, I have high hopes for this.

CE: It sounds like elevator music a bit. But it's still a good tune.

CE: I don't have much else to say, really.

CE: Well this is erm, this-this is a bit risque lyrically. Song's decent, though.

FT: That they were.
CE: Shame. Anyhoo, this song more than makes up for it. It's not perfect but it's just... I like it.

CE: Now this song has a bit of a history I won't go into.

CE: But it's... something. It's just an experience everyone has to experience. I can't say any more than that.

CE: I can hear what you mean, it has that energy. But at least his vocals fit this song. And it's a nice fun beat with a good staging too. Just hopefully it sounds a bit less skeezy to other people.

FT: Faintly.
CE: This song reminds me of that, except that song is better. It's fun all-round but this one kind of feels like it takes itself too seriously. I just can't vibe with it as much.
