The Conservatives, in power since 2022, have recently experienced a backlash.
Drastic to the NHS and schools anger many Labour supporters and swing voters who voted for Corbyn in 2017, whilst the refusal of Northumbria to return Grey’s monument is a symbolic moment that is exploited by other nationalist parties competing for right wing votes as well as making it harder for the Tories to call Labour “unpatriotic”.
Muslim convert and former forensic scientist Helen Khan PHD is running as a Labour candidate for Gloucester.

In the five years since Northumbrian independence, Northumbria has prospered. The shipyards and mines have reopened, and most of its problems are a thing of the past. "I did say the problem was with Westminster, didn't I?" said Alvin Ashleigh. Britons look on with envy.

IC:
Lead by Dan Jarvis MP, Labour say that they will pay a “reasonable price” for Grey’s monument by import tariffs and “a slight increase in taxation on the top 10% of earners”, they also say their taxes and tariffs will pay for reversing many Tory cuts.

Helen Khan is campaigning in Gloucester, she wears a Royal British legion headscarf, trousers, a blouse and a long coat.

OOC: so I guess I control the responses of the non-Northumbrian population?

IC:
The people of Gloucester are respectful to her, many say they will vote Labour but many of the non-university middle class
in Oxstalls say they will vote Conservative.

Alvin Ashleigh is wondering why Britain cares about the monument so much.

“Well you obviously care about it as you’ve decided to keep it.” said Paul Golding.

OOC: it’s not about the monument, it’s about different parties trying to show their patriotism and discredit the Torie who claim that they ‘won the war’.

IC: The majority of people in Gloucester,
including many soldiers and most of the police, support Labour.

After a hard 8 hours of campaigning, during which she spoke to students (of both universities and sixth-forms since under Corbyn the voting age was lowered to 16), university lecturers construction workers, teachers, police officers ajd military personnel, Helen Khan goes to Tomari Gi in Stroud.

Meanwhile her daughter, a student at the University of Cambridge, campaigns on behalf of the Labour Party to the students of the university.

OOC: Nigel Farage would not make such a weak comment.

In Tomari Gi, Helen Khan hears a man talking on the phone about how he’s a cuck “excuse me, you’re being a bit loud.” she says.
After the man tells her to “f**k off” he is removed from the restaurant, at the request of the owner.
The man is Harry Cole but this is currently unknown.
Meanwhile, after class and some studying, Helen Khan II goes out campaigning on behalf of her mother.

He asks people what their main priorities are,
meanwhile Helen Khan has been proposing to reinvigorate industry in Gloucester through tariffs and subsidies (the subsidies described as an investment) with tax revenue from the increase in employment being spent to reverse Tory health and education cuts and raise police and Army pay.

"Independence," they say. "Northumbria is prosperous now that it's independent. Why can't we be like them?"

If they don’t answer he leaves the meeting saying “How about I come up with ideas for a prosperous Yorkshire within the UK and then get back to you?”

IC:
The Prime Minister, Alexander Beresford FitzGerald MP,
offers a devolved Parliament to the North West, with authority over criminal law (except military offences), council tax laws, business subsidies, employment law and education.

Helen Khan asks why there is none offered for the
South-West.

People call the PM an idiot. "Does he want the North West to become independent too? Is he going to give them independence without a referendum like he did Northumbria?"

IC: he says, “maybe this would actually avoid the North-West trying to become independent?”

There is talk of some Conservative MPs representing certain parts of the country forming a South-East Party, modelled on Lega Nord.

Meanwhile Helen Khan campaigns to soldiers, discussing plans to raise their pay.

IC:
So far in London:
The party with the most support is Labour especially amongst ethnic minorities and young voters.

So far in Gloucester:
AB (as in ABC1) generally back the Conservatives
(except for members of ethnic minorities in social categories A and B who generally support Labour)
,C1 have a tiny tilt towards Labour, C2 are about evenly divided and DE are slanted towards Labour.

OOC: I’ll do Stroud in a bit, how about you do North-West and Yorkshire?
