the Newcastle Nives have been proscribed as a terrorist group by the Home Secretary

Phillip Proudfoot has been phoned and asked if he succeeded in joining the armed wing.

Sentences have been tougher for the murder of a police officer.

12 years for a person aged 12 to 16,
30 years for a person aged 16 to 18
a whole life order for a person aged 18 or over).

The Newcastle Nives escaped. Alvin Ashleigh calls for peace, but says "the heavy-handed outsiders were to blame for what happened and what they got was a bloody good hiding."

Philip (one 'l') Proudfoot reports that there is no armed wing, at least none official that he can find.

The three normally equipped (I.e. no riot gear, no firearms) officers who died are given the Queen’s Police Medal.

Phillip Proudfoot is tasked with infiltrating the Newcastle Gremlins “say you found Ashleigh’s party to be ‘a bunch of conchie neeks’ or something similar.” he is instructed.

Luckily, Newcastle is playing Arsenal in the FA Cup final today, and he has the perfect chance to attempt this infiltration. Nobody understands what he's saying, but they assume he's trying to insult them. He gets beaten up and has to be taken to hospital.

IC: Phillip Proudfoot is taken to witness protection in Cardiff.

Meanwhile, the riot police search the hooligans for knives and other offensive weapons after handcuffing them.

IC: They are detained at Byker Police Station, an RMP Sergeant gives them an opportunity to call a lawyer.

They are charged with assault and, if any of them had knives, unlawful carrying of a knife and conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.

IC: 24 hours a pre-trial hearing says they are to be tried at the Central Criminal Court.
The Gremlins are to be tried together but separately from the man who made the joke and in doing so wasted police time.

OOC: did the hooligans have any knives or other weapons?
Has Philip Proudfoot recovered yet?

The man eloquently begins his defence. "How can I be guilty of wasting police time, when two fish got battered?"

OOC: Maybe. Azad, if you need to ask these questions in the future please use this site instead.

IC: the hooligans didn’t have knives but they did have other weapons, namely knuckle dusters,
they are charged with carrying offensive weapons along with assault and inflicting GBH without intent. They are being detained in HMP Durham, currently guarded by the RMP, awaiting trial.

Central Criminal Court, City of London, Southern England,Great Britain, United Kingdom
“Putting batter on fish is not illegal.” The crown prosecutor points out. A court appointed psychiatrist is ordered to assess the man.

Two giant, bandaged talking fish walk into the court. "Actually, it was a very painful experience throughout which we struggled."

IC: The fish are called to testify before the House of Commons to determine whether they should be given rights equivalent to humans.

Meanwhile the owner of the fish and chip shop is charged with cruelty to animals.

Furthermore the Newcastle Gremlins have by now been sent to the Central Criminal Court. The jury is composed of a range of classes and is selected from the North-West, Sussex and, in the case of one man, Durham.

IC: Due to the new and compelling evidence, the man who made the 999 call is re-arrested and has his mental state examined by a psychiatrist.

Meanwhile, the Home Secretary resigns from both his cabinet post and, de facto, from Parliament as he’s given a sinecure per procedure.

Philip Proudfoot is called to testify in the trial of the hooligans.

The owner of the fish and chip shop is released.

The psychiatrist finds the man has a functioning sense of humour.

Alvin Ashleigh calls the Home Secretary an "idiot" and says that, as funny as the chip shop joke was, the reaction of the British state has been even funnier. "They, under the delusion talking fish exist, invited two jokesters into Parliament and arrested an innocent man. The real joke here is the establishment."

The government's attempts to explain the arrest of a political opponent fall flat with the public. After the heavy-handed approach in Newcastle that culminated in the deaths of police officers, this is the final straw.

OOC: Where is Alvin Ashleigh being held?

Eventually, the Newcastle Gremlins are convicted based on the testimony of Philip Proudfoot and the knuckle dusters they were found with. They are given the maximum sentence for each crime.

OOC: HMP Northumberland which is guarded by the RMP.

Also after RP this can we make another RP set three to five years later?

Northumbrian nationalists arrive at the prison to break him out. "Hand him over, and we'll let you return to Britain unharmed!" they say to the RMP.

They shrug. "Well, we warned them." The Northumbrians blow up the prison gates.
