"And I tell you friends, we'll never be able to call this country our own until it's a country without!"
The speaker, a retired lieutenant-general clad in an olive green suit and military honors, paused and once more stared stoically upon his congregation of about two dozen protestors before belching another provocation. Cabapan Park was considerably empty for a Saturday, perhaps because everybody knew that the rally was going to be held and nobody really wanted to hear what was going to be said. There were more bystanders scoffing or minding their own business than people actually taking him seriously.
"Without what?—Well, without communists! Without alien foreigners! Without creoles running the government! Without Islamist terrorists!" The speaker's supporters, though few and far between, cheered in delight. Many raised their placards even higher, some of which read: "THE T.U.C.H IS RUN BY THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF HINTUWAN", "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS", "REVOLUTIONARY GOVERNMENT NOW", and "STOP CORRUPTING OUR YOUTH".
"I'm just an average Hintuwani, ladies and gentlemen. But let me tell you, I'm a HINTUWANI Hintuwani. And some of the things I see in this land make my blood boil. These thieves and lunatics in the Kapulungang Bayan do nothing but sell lies to empty-headed dreamers. And it is time for us to fight them! Fight them before they destroy our country! Fight them before they destroy THE WORLD!" The crowd erupted once again.
"Total War... Total War," the speaker began to chant. "TOTAL WAR, TOTAL WAR, TOTAL WAR!", the crowd followed.
Samatang "Kumander Sata" Belugar Jr. was a man known for his strong stance against terrorist insurgency in Hintuwan, and his accusations implicating a number of public personalities in rebel conspiracies was one which had earned the ire of even his own superiors in the Hintuwani military. Despite being exiled from the institution of government, it appears he's apparently not the type who'll just fade away. Instead of finding himself disgraced, Belugar has become the subject of support for radical right-wing factions across the country and even around the world.
Today, Belugar has met up with a group said to be representing different social sectors at Cabapan Park in Haijing for a "dialogue" on corruption, soaring fuel prices, and the leftist rebellion, among other issues. It is yet to be seen whether anyone of actual importance will show up to support his cause.
This roleplay is open to all NSes, no sign-up required. You are encouraged to send characters to either condemn or support the rally - you may also request to speak to Belugar in private for the purposes of lobbying your nation's agenda. Other interactions are welcome but please try to avoid doing anything unrealistic, especially since this is a non-confrontational RP. If you have any questions, send me a telegram.
