So they were military, I thought as I listened to her introduction. I did notice, that there was something behind the eyes - a sharp mind, considering her age and her rank, was quite likely.
I bowed my head slightly, then took the hand for a shake into my armoured hand.
It was a firm and strong grip.
"Crixus Oliunoir of the Tribe of Tralee, a Guild-Master of the Marcach Guild of Redruth.", I introduced myself, then motioned to my side, where Aífe bowed her head. "This young lady is Aífe Sullphiosa of the Tribe of Antrim."
"Please, just call me Aífe.", she asked and then extended her hand for a shake. "We're from the Free Lands, Marcach Guild, to be precise. I must admit, that I am a bit confused right now, for which Hegemony are you from?"

Callisto's shook Oliunoir's hand, followed by Aife's. Her handshake was just as firm as Oliunoir's, despite her lack of armor.

"Free Lands..." Callisto frowned. "I see. As for us: the Hegemony is well aware that the present situation of the Persean Sector means that on many decivilized planets, much historical knowledge has been lost. I will try to keep it simple, but please tell me if nothing I say makes sense."

She took a deep breath. "As far as most space-faring polities know, contact with wider interstellar civilization was cut about two-hundred years ago. The Hegemony is not a country as such but a political institution -- a sort of emergency regime -- that seeks to stabilize the Sector pending a full re-opening of the gate network and reestablishment of contact with the wider Domain of Man. Long range patrols and exploration groups detected this planet approximately 8 years ago and a Hegemony patrol base has been operating at some distance in the same system for the past 6. Last year Dawn here accepted a mission to formally establish contact, and...here we are." She smiled. "You can call me crazy now."

As Callisto and the two Selkie-folk chatted away, Dawn caught the Sultan of Sale-Rabat out of her eye.

In an instant she knew what sort of man he was, and stiffened considerably. A look of rage briefly flashed across her face, only to be replaced, swiftly, with her previous, hollow-eyed look.

The chattered jet carrying the Emir of Wadiya lands in Turkmen. It was the Emir's second visit to the wonderful country. He stepped down from his plane surrounded by his big bodyguards carrying assault rifles. He waves at the press people once, before turning around haughtily and walking up to his trademark black limo. He was not wearing his traditional white dress but instead sported a maroon military uniform of an Wadiyan Field Marshal several medals adorning his chest. He entered the limo, as the limo drove away.

The limo stopped in front of the mosque. He got down from the car, and walked up to the Emir with a smile on his face. He extended his hand to shook his. He asked "How are you doing, my friend? It's so nice to attend your wedding."

Crixus Oliunoir of the Tribe of Tralee.
Approaching Ertugrul Gazi Mosque.

I listened to the explanation with keen interest. To be honest, it sounded a lot like something young Branwen (yes, I can still say that, she is only 21 Springs!) would write in her next novel, but at the same time...
"You are talking to a man, who frequently spars with a fox-eared and fox-tailed woman, who gave the friendship of her thighs to a High King of my people sixteen centuries ago.", I replied flatly, "And who frequently works with another woman, who was abducted through a magical portal into another world, where we alongside a large coalition waged a war to punish these people for their attack and to liberate said woman and other people, who they captured." I shrugged. "You'll have to do a bit better to earn yourself the title of 'crazy' in my book."
I let a beat pass.
"That being said, when you say gate network... there is an entirely technological base to it?", I asked, "No magic involved?"
Aífe facepalmed with a small smile on her lips.

Nowadays we've fallen back on hyperspace travel for the most part. Magic doesn't exist, to our understanding...Ah, excuse me. I'm using buzzwords again. I sighed in relief, then shook my head.
"Thank you for the offer, but later, please. "Though these gates do sound marvellous... I imagine, that their loss was quite the blow. As for Milady Macha, though, she is already cooperating a lot with the University of Fortham. The Sultan of Sale-Rabat, calmly, explains Dawn that the girl (26 year old) emigrated willingly to the Sultanate so she could, by being at the service of the Sultan in administrational duties and attending with him international and national events, and anything he pleased, she could made herself into a woman of the high society of the Sultanate. Not anything that he has said means she is less worthy of dignity than the others, but basically, that she isn't a royal wive, and as the royal wives include on certain obligations of service to the people, they are not required to attend events, says the Sultan hoping to clear the misunderstanding.

After, he asks to all the delegations still outside of the mosque, shall we go inside?

IC: General Dumorov watching his phone, and then he whispers to the president, "Наша армия атакует греческие укрепления, сэр. Полковник Михаил Ворошилов сказал, что эта армия будет атаковать столицу с другой стороны, сэр." Leon was shocked. He then replied it by whispers, "ВВС с ним и его людьми, верно? Если да, то мне не о чем беспокоиться." Leon is walking outside the mosque for a while, to speak with his presidential PSMVD.

"Мне нужно, чтобы вы отдали приказ водителю и ПСМВД в моей колонне: генерала Алексея Домбровского немедленно доставить сюда." His presidential PSMVD began to move towards the presidential car and the PSMVD humvees. After like 2 minutes, the convoy is leaving the Ertugrul Gazi Mosque. The president and his PSMVD however, is waiting in the mosque

Alvin Ashleigh, unlike the sultan, gets lots of girls and doesn't have to threaten or indenture them to get them (indeed, due to concerns relating to power imbalances he only gets foreign women).

"Internet?" Callisto paused. "Ah, right! You've managed to retain wireless communications. Splendid! I'm not sure if my TriPad can connect -- it's designed for hyperwave communications -- but it's worth a shot-" she cut herself off mid-sentence, noticing Dawn being badgered by the Sultan of Sale-Rabat, and then gave Oliunoir a quick bow. "Apologies. Please give me a second."

Sale-Rabat wrote:The Sultan of Sale-Rabat, calmly, explains Dawn that the girl (26 year old) emigrated willingly to the Sultanate so she could, by being at the service of the Sultan in administrational duties and attending with him international and national events, and anything he pleased, she could made herself into a woman of the high society of the Sultanate. Dawn's rage was about to boil over when Callisto suddenly grabbed her wrist and spun her about, causing her to face Oliunoir, while she got up right in the Sultan's face, grinning ear to ear, hands over her tablet.
"So! Tell me more, Sultan." she said. "Decivilized cultures, especially barbaric ones, interest me greatly and ought to be catalogued before reestablishment of contact with the broader Sector wipes them out for good. So! The girl. She immigrated. She is arguably a slave, enough so that FLEETCOM would not give a shit if we blasted your country to ash right now."

She let those words hang in the air for a few moments, then continued, her smile unabated. "Now, slavery is an ancient custom, yet an inefficent one -- not even the Luddic Church practices it. Indeed, the Luddic Church is one of the Hegemony's greatest partners in counter-slavery operations. Now, I understand that poor, barbaric denizens of decivilized worlds often have little other recourse. However, all indications and orbital scans indicate a relatively high-tech society. So, why persist in this?"

While Callisto subjected the Sultan to a very polite interrogation, Dawn turned back to Oliunoir. "...So. Your home." she asked. "What is it like?"
Her voice crackled slightly on the word 'home'. Perhaps something more than mere curiosity was driving her to ask this question.

Crixus Oliunoir of the Tribe of Tralee.
Approaching Ertugrul Gazi Mosque.

I nodded, accepting the apology, then watched from a distance.
From what I could hear at said distance, the spacefarers we were talking with were strictly against slavery, a standpoint I found myself in agreement with. I knew one person, who had fought as an enslaved gladiator in Sadera and that was enough.
That being said, I looked at Dawn with a smile.
"Fields of green and gold, forests of darkness and life, people of warmth and heartiness.", Aífe took over, smiling, "It is a beautiful place, if you ask me - then again, I am a bit biased." She shrugged. "We always welcome visitors, so if you want..."
She let that hang and I found myself agreeing with her.

I raised an eyebrow. Decivilized? Well, as she was speaking of a decivilized world, it was not only us under that label, but everyone... and at least it was not uncivilized.
Uncivilized brought to mind much more allergic reactions.
But anyway, I smiled.
"The University of Fortham is one of the five university of the Free Lands and one of the most renown. It's specialized in Medicine, Agronomy and the Social Sciences, although they have a fierce rivalry with the UoL in history.", I assembled my thoughts for a moment, "They have over three thousand students over all of their faculties, a large university library and... actually, does your tablet have access to the internet? I can show you their homepage, if you want."

The Sultan says that he refers all that questions to the Turkmen Emir due to the fact that indenture servitude is also legal in his country.

“Very good, thank you, my friend.” The Emir said, shaking the other Emir’s hand,it was time for bride’s father to walk her down the aisle for the wedding vows.

Emir Khalifa smiled and then clapped his hands. A servant stepped forward, who was carrying a long brown box. "This box contains a diamond platted sword, which is my gift to you and Latifa on the occassion of your wedding. May you have a sucessful wedding blessed with many children, my friend." Saying this he ordered the servant to hand over the box to the Emir, which the servant promptly did.
"There is one more thing I wanted to discuss." Emir Khalifa began. "You see, I haven't brought my wife to this wedding and so it's a bit lonely here for me." He smirked and continued "Do you have a replacement who can help me reduce this loneliness just for today. I think you know what I mean."

Meanwhile, Latifa's father, Hafeez Al-Sharawyi walked her down the aisle for her wedding. (OOC: You can describe her wedding dress.) She is very shy and all these people had made her more uncomfortable. She kept her head down as she walked.

The Sultan congratulates the newlywed couple and gives the Emir a hand-crafted gold and diamond sword and a set of jewellry of the same materials to his new wife. Also, he approaches the Grand Mufti to see if he can talk about certain marriage affairs for a moment.
