Since the dawn of civilization, trade was a decisive factor in global control. Whether it was about the Romans controlling trade from the coast of Spain to the desert of Egypt, China influencing trade through the Silk Road, Britain moving thousands of tons of trade through their global empire like many others, economic policy and more importantly trade was a deciding driving force in many a nations worth, with the modern day definition to success being determined by materialistic and socioeconomic factors now more than ever. Knowing how to best conduct dealings in todays age often times leads to countries diplomatically bending the knee to pens rather than swords. While Pompey of Rome once said to stop quoting laws to men who carry swords, in the Age of Information it is wise to stop quoting the use of swords to men who carry pens.
