Tom Richards: “Senate elections are set to take place on May 23rd. This means that the debates will have to start soon. This Global Senate will not only be the last GCN Global Senate in preparation for the Global Entente of Nations and Alliances, but will also lead the alliance into new horizons of peace and prosperity. So far, there are 3 confirmed candidates, with the Zarnicovian candidate reportedly being barred from running due to the Zarnicovian re-entry into the GCN being far too recent.”

Dear World Parliamentarians of the Global Confederation of Nations, On behalf of His Imperial & Royal Majesty Emperor JC, Imperial Marshal of the Imperion Coalition - and of course the eleven member nations of the Imperion Coalition I am representing today - it is my sworn duty to greet your organization on this fine day. We have watched the development of newer international organizations such as yours with great interest. Development of newer bodies of international standing will always bring about consequences on other international bodies such as our own and often effect individual nations such as our member nations. Thus it's within our interests to better understand and prepare for these new relationships. Healthy relationships are built on understanding and mutually agreed on gives-and-takes. For those among your ranks who are unaware of our glorious organization, we are the Imperion Coalition. A Coalition of the willing, we are monarchies and empires dedicated to the traditional culture and influential power that made such entities practicing them the envy of the world. We are strong believers - bastions if you will - of the cultural practices of monarchism and imperialism. It is our mission to not only protect these two cultural traditions worldwide, but to also expand their reach by any means necessary. Of course our purpose as a Coalition itself is also the protection, prosperity, and assistance of member nations above all else. It is not in our nature to mince words, thus I will be upfront in stating we only look out for our own interests as an international body, and that means putting our members, and their people, foremost above all else; to do otherwise is a complete betrayal to our traditions and purpose as a Coalition, but more importantly it would be a betrayal to our member nations and their people. It is my duty this day to bring forth a list of proposals to your body - or more appropriately the Global Confederation of Nations as a whole - on behalf of the Imperion Coalition's Imperial Marshal, His Imperial & Royal Majesty Emperor JC. We have dubbed these proposals as the "Proposal of Amicable Relations" or "PAR" for short. The aim of PAR is to help facilitate more... amicable relationships with other bodies of international standing that don't necessarily see eye-to-eye with our ideals. Although your organization includes those who would call for our heads on pikes, others seeing us guillotined, it has been determined that GCN has more than enough moderates to be considered worthy of diplomatic discourse - or at least worthy of making an attempt at diplomatic discourse. Of course the aim of our proposals is to foster at least a sense of civility and amicability between GCN and the Imperion Coalition. It's within our thought process that such a relationship may bare fruit in the future that align with our interests. As such, the list of proposals prepared by HIRM the Imperial Marshal shall include the following: The Imperion Coalition will create a new committee to manage this new treaty relationship. This new committee will fall under the authority of the Honorable James Hammel, Foreign Affairs Marshal of the Imperion Coalition. Under him the committee itself will be made up of member nation representatives and manned by Coalition staff members under the Foreign Affairs Marshal's authority. The "GCN Committee" will act as the GCN's direct contact with the Coalition, facilitating quicker, lag reducing, efficient lines of communication to Imperion Coalition authorities. On our end it will act as a suitable body to coordinate responses and policies concerning the GCN. It is our suggestion to craft a similar body or structure for the GCN in regards to the Imperion Coalition. Establishment of a deconfliction line of communication between the Global Confederation of Nations and the Imperion Coalition. In order to avoid potential conflicts, having such back-up lines of communications will avoid unnecessary conflicts in the future if either side encounter the other in mutually interested combat zones. Ambassadors, or other representatives, may be swapped to act as direct contacts/representatives in each other's respective organization if summoned or allowed to participate in organizational affairs. Imperion is prepared to send a representative within a week if diplomatic protections and agreements can be agreed upon. With great interest, we eagerly await the GCN's collective response to this proposal. It is our belief that an amicable relationship can be reached with the Global Confederation of Nations. And maybe, in the future, closer ties between our organizations will lead to mutually assured prosperity between our nations and peoples.
