The Lafitos Defense Organization (LDO) is a direct successor to the now-defunct International Consortium of Democratic Nations (ICDN). The LDO aims to provide free nations a place to band together and fight for our independence. We believe that a peaceful solution should be sought wherever possible, but that to maintain peace, military strength is required. If one member is attacked, then all of us are attacked.
The Lafitos Defense Organization, as it's name indicates, was born in the city of Lafitos, formerly known as "Site K". Lafitos was founded in 1981 as part of a post war development program by the South Americanastanian government, and named after explorer and missionary Joseph-Francois Lafitau. It made large amounts of money for it's Uranium deposits. Prospectors flocked to the city to look for Uranium, and the city grew. By the time the Uranium fever had died down, the city had managed to reinvest its money, making itself sustainable and continuing it's population growth. The city, due to its rich uranium deposits, holds the title of one of the world's only cities run entirely on Nuclear Power. The city currently boasts a population of 650,000 and counting.

-The LDO allows you to cooperate with other militaries, engage in joint training and share military advancements!
-The LDO isn't just a military alliance, it's an economic cooperative! Freely trade with your fellow members!
-The LDO aims to improve the quality of all our members militaries, economies, and RPs! Be a part of a high quality alliance!
-The LDO allows you to have a say in what the alliance does! Cast your vote on every bill, and know that you truly are making a difference!
However, we can't maintain these benefits by accepting any old nation, so here are a few requirements:
- -Have no recorded human rights violations under the current regime
-Be on NS at least semi-regularly
-Don't be a godmodder
-Nations must be MT
-Only 3 nations per user (Main and two puppets)
-Put "Member of LDO" in your signature
