The PRC is a nation not to be messed with, even with the backing of multiple powers. Direct war with China could spiral into a global conflict that could cause the death of millions and set the western world back a few years. The best way to aid in this conflict is to fund the Japanese directly and pull financial assets out of China.
It is the best approach in such a risky situation.

It would be extremely useful to create a strategy on defeating the armed forces, as even if we don't get to the stage of a war, we may be able to use these tactics in the future, should something like this happen. We need to avoid a stalemate or worse at all cost. Working together would be a great start if we wish to do something like this.

A strategy that we could amend on is a 3 staged attack that targets key areas in China.
Troops would land in the south east, pushing to take the Pearl, Yangtze and Yellow river deltas, where most of the industry and wealth is located. Naval bombardment and air support will help capture these key locations. These locations are most important for various reasons. Capturing Shanghai and the cities in the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone will cripple the economy of China, as these cities are the hubs of production and trade. However, it is too risky to invade from the north, south or west of China due to its largely impassable terrain. Stage 2 will use boats to sail up the Pearl, Yellow and Yangtze river, allowing troops to capture the cites on the river, and flanking the Chinese army who are trying to recapture what has been lost. We can use the thousands of factories located in the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone to produce supplies.
Capturing the south is crucial to winning this war, as it contains natural resources that the north is in low supply of, including water. We could try and damage the South-North Water transfer system to starve the north of water, which may cause unrest for the people.
We need to capture the major rivers, as most of the big important population centres are on them. If we also have naval and air superiority, we can fully shut off these cites from the outside world, if we can capture everything above the Korean peninsula.
We wont really need to deal with the regions of Tibet and Xinjiang, as they will mostly revolt against the Chinese, and there wont be many soldiers present in the region, due to them being stationed near the front lines.
Stage 3 can start when we capture the 3 major rivers, and the cities on them. We should be able to focus the offensive directly on Beijing. The Chinese wont be able to do much like as most of the economic and manufacturing hubs have already fallen in stages 1-2. We should have severed most lines of connection between Beijing and the last strongholds scattered around the nation. We can create a final push and storm Beijing, which hopefully, we can then negotiate for peace on our terms and end this war.

We could do something different, but one thing that must be accounted for is to focus on the economic hubs of the nation. By having a blockade in the seas and having air superiority in the sky, we can fully cut off China from most of the world. Then it wont be able to import goods and keep its economy going. This is why capturing the river deltas are strategically important. Whatever we do, we need to have a plan that can a adaptable if it does not work.
