"Sacrifice centered?" asked Patti Hun. "So do you give sacrifices for everything? What do you sacrifice, Is it more animals or flowers and stuff?"

Oh, id only these were flowers and animals…- she jokingly answered,- Self-sacrifice-centered. Every Lakan is expected to willingly sacrifice himself and/or his family members for the good of the many, should the need arise. It’s not like I’m against this or anything, but I, for example, will serve as a suicide mine operator once the need shall come.

Nura notices him and decided to ask him the assigned questions.
“Salaam,” she said. “I’m Nura. What’s your culture like?”
Muhammad in turn asked Celina.

Hassan and Ali turned to Hussaina. "Salaam. What's your culture like?" said Hassan. "No, Ali, don't sneak away. You know we're a package deal. Was that the expression? Ugh, lazim thnenatneh aw mahad."
We need both of us or no-one.

“Salaam,” she responded. “In my culture, we dress modestly, follow Allah’s Prophet (As) and the Imams (As). We love to drink tea, dance, eat tahdig, and praise Allah, Muhammad, Ali and Husayn. What about you? What is your culture like?”

Patti Hun did not understand the joke, and in fact did not understand the sentence, but smiled when Helena laughed. "Wait a second" he said "are you saying that you are going to commit suicide in a mine?"

"Exactly the same plus we eat dolma. And we eat knafeh. And camels. And I don't think we dance that much. What is tahdig?" said Hassan.

"Pretty much the same as you, minus the imams, the dancing and the tahdig bit. Plus traditional boats."

The teacher asked “write down two things you like about your own culture and two things you like about the culture of the person next to you.”
