[Hopal]

Welcome to Hopal

Hopal will celebrate one year since its founding on April 20, 2021. These events will mark the first anniversary of the founding of Hopal. There will be all sorts of events centering around Port Hope, where Harrison Reid, the first Prime Minister of Hopal proclaimed the founding of Hopal. Port Hope is recovering from Hurricane Amy that hit last year and most of it will be reopening with these celebrations. These celebrations are meant as a way to celebrate Hopalian culture and excellence, building relations with the world and other nations. Prime Minister John Stophoe is also inviting leaders of the ICDN to come to Hopal, and discuss the future of the ICDN with them after the celebrations.

It was the morning of April 25th, 2021, Port Hope prepared for the ensuing storm that was to come. The festivities celebrating the First Anniversary of the Founding of Hopal were planned and ready to go. The citizens of Port Hope and of Hopal at large were excited and ready as they set up and set out for Port Hope for the celebrations. The Prime Minister and the whole of Cabinet arrived early at Port Hope-Reid Airport, the newly built airport for Port Hope, and like much of the city was built in the aftermath of Hurricane Amy which struck last year. The Prime Minister was nervous and anxious, yet was also at the same time excited and determined, this was supposed to showcase Hopal on the world stage, it would be the test of his career. It could make or break his career, it was his chance to show the world what Hopal was capable of, what Hopal was capable of under his governance. It was a chance to make alliances, to deepen existing relationships, and for many this would be their first impression of Hopal.

"Minister Johnson" he said referring to and trying to catch the attention of Minister of Industry Lauren Johnson.

She turned around and looked at Prime Minister Stophoe and he addressed her "Since you aren't guiding anyone, and as the Minister of Industry with the history in Hopal and Hopalian government, in an important post. I would like you come around Port Hope with me during the celebrations, and kind of be my assistant or guide, how would you like that?" he asks.

"I think it be my honour." she replies, the Prime Minister nods and the entirety of the Cabinet walks out of the building and onto the tarmac. They on a red carpet on the tarmac and line themselves up, and begin to wait for dignitaries to arrive.

After he says that, Graaf's guide, Peter Hoffer the Minister of Transport walks over and shakes his hand "Hello there, Mr. Graaf, I'm Peter Hoffer your guide for these next days" he says.

A small, unassuming jet touches down on the runway of Port Hope-Reid Airport. On board, a small team of guards and attendents immediately unbuckle themselves as the jet slows to a crawl, carrying luggage and talking with one another. In the midst of all this chaos, Deputy Prime Minister Tara Lever and her fiance, Adrianne Genovese, sat inconpicuolously sipping a glass of prosecco

"You know, beloved, if you had told me you would be flying me around the world in a private jet i would have said yes to your proposal sooner" Adrianne said as she cracked a smile

Tara laughed "If i knew, i would've proposed sooner. This is my first diplomatic event. My first time in a private jet, now you mention it.."

She was interrupted by one of her security guards who leaned towards her to speajk

"Ms Lever, do you have everything you need on your person? We are ready to disembark. The Hopalian Prime minister will be the first to greet you off the plane" He said as one of his colleagues opened the door to the plane "We'll be flanking you as per protocol"

"Yeah.. thats fine." Tara said, unfamiliar to the sudden importance that was being put on her. Her first diplomatic trip was more intense than she could've imagined. she stood up and extended a hand towards her fiance

"Try not to look too scared, my love" Adrianne said as she laid her silky palm into Taras uncharactistically tense hand "The world will love you, darling" she smiled as she raised from her seat.

After waiting briefly for their security detail to depart before them, the couple descended down the slightly unstable steps of the jet and onto the pavement. They walked arm in arm waiting for the hopalian welcome party to arrive.

Lawrence Tahity, the Minister of Culture seeing the Prime Minister step forward soon followed suit "Ahh, there you are, Welcome to Hopal, I'm Lawrence Tahity, I'll be your guide for this visit." he said in greeting.

She said with a smile.

Adrianne took a moment to greet Lawrence Tahity as Tara and Prime Minister Stophoe exchanged pleasantries. "Hello, I am excited to have you as my guide. Hopal is a truly beautiful country, I have always wanted to visit."

At the entrance was a black Tesla, the luggage was put in the Tesla and after Peter and De Villiers got in the car it took off for the short drive to the hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel, the hotel staff take De Villier's luggage to his room.

The vendors at the Port Hope Market put up their products in preparation for the opening happening shortly. They rearrange their things and put up their signs, they will be selling their products here for the first time in almost a year. After Hurricane Amy hit most of the city was destroyed and the market was no different. It was rebuilt though with the additional of new indoor convention centre like market. Today it all reopens again as part of the anniversary celebrations. At the entrance of the market there is a red ribbon waiting to be cut as officials and people gather around it. The Prime Minister, his wife and Lauren Johnson, the Minister of Industry is there alongside Francis Irvin, the Minister of Economic Development, as they wait to cut the ribbon and begin a new chapter in the history of Port Hope and Hopalian Commerce.

Lawrence tells them they walk through the airport building to the entrance where a black tesla is waiting for them, Lawrence gets in a front seat leaving the Countesians to sit in the back they drive through the city to the city centre, through the brick houses on the outskirts to the Mediterranean-style stone buildings near the city centre. They arrive at the entrance of the market where they see people gathered around a red ribbon.
