yeah, so

patyu and nate, now both catgirls, go off and hide or something. don't remember exactly what happened there. ross got arrested, but nate bailed him out. ross hit on patyu and tried to get in bed with her, patyu hit him over the head with a lamp, nate comforted patyu, some not entirely pg stuff happened between Ross and NC's president's wife, ari got mad at him and made him spend time with her, nate shot a bunch of people with the laser while trying to get ross, one of whom was Paris, one of brettenwald's characters. cat!ross does unspeakable things to ari because catgirl ross is a very bad person and has particular sets of skills acquired from a certain sanghyeok secretary. eventually everyone goes to the party. paris and patyu, both catgirls, go off and make god mad but nate's mad because he liked patyu. and WF wanted to arrest ross or something? so he flooded the ballroom with horny gas and escaped with a dejected nate and ari back to somac.

Nate has lost it and has killed probably 15 people. Also, Patyu nearly gone suicidal. And Ari is most likely going to get her skin stolen by some murderous android.

fast forward to today. nate's gone insane because he has undiagnosed ptsd and drinks to blot out the war crimes. he's mad at patyu and paris for doing the dirty. ross and ari have been living together for the past two months. everyone comes to macronesia. one of these characters is jane, who's actually an FT superspy who straight up stole the skin of a senator or something. she's trying to find out about the delta protocol. ross and ari have some wholesome times together. patyu likes paris, but paris ain't gay no more, so she gets upset. they all go and hang out at a beach party, but the fucking uss ronald reagan sends an F/A-18 Super Hornet but it gets blown out of the sky and nate and patyu drive back to nate's house in a technical. they are still friends. paris follows them and bangs on the door. nate's inner rambo breaks out and he holds them both at gunpoint and plans to kill them for what they did. somehow, they are still friends. sarah, nate's friend and thicc medical student, subdues him and puts him on happy meds overnight. nate spends some wholesome time with patyu the next day because he's on happy meds and can't fucking kill her. patyu is trans. oh, and the night before, ross and ari got engaged. anyway, the meds wear off, nate gets shot trying to shoot khensu, the 6'3" warrior, with the laser and goes to the hospital. nate and everyone go to the party. paris trying to apologize for nate by giving him a bottle of whiskey. not a particularly good gift for an alcoholic, wouldn't you say?

nate kills a security guard with his bare hands and combat training thinking it's paris. ross drags him off. nate pretends to go off to use the bathroom, but actually thinks about why patyu doesn't like him... as he slaughters thirteen other members of ross's security detail with a variety of objects and weapons. the ptsd likes this and allows him to be normal for a second or two. he goes to patyu and asks her why she doesn't like him. she vomits all over the place because he's fucking covered in blood, only most of which is not his. he escapes from ross while saying a bunch of stuff about how well he treated patyu and how she doesn't care about him and how he's just gonna have to be on his own and that he did nothing wrong and runs into the woods.

and ari got snatched by jane, who's trying to steal her skin so she can seduce ross and learn about the delta protocol.
