A sprawling city bounded by mountains and sea, Äuszer is known for its easy access to stunning natural areas and balmy weather. The name "Äuszer" is short for "Äußerstenkeiken", a flawed transcription of Üüsertsenkeiken by one of the first German-speaking diplomats to visit Tödlichebujoku. Nonetheless, this name became the most popular shorthand for the city among the worlds beyond Jeme, and so we embrace it here and now. Being unique compared to the rest of Tödlichebujoku in more than just name, the city hosts a diverse array of cultures and lifestyles- one is bound to find both a group of people from a familiar culture and a group from a radically different one. While Sterblichengokai, often known as Estegoa, is certainly much bigger and arguably better, Äuszer's climate and natural beauty made it a superior choice for TÖBUK to present to the world.

Image

Like many Tödlichebujoki cities, Äuszer was badly damaged in the civil war over two centuries ago. However, its small size at the time, and its isolated location, led it to be far less badly damaged than most of the cities on the plains farther west. Since then, it has become a sprawling metropolis and functions as the nation's gateway to the east.

Äuszer's location on the mountainous yet mild east coast of Tödlichebujoku has always allowed for easy access to the wilderness of the untamed mountainsides around it. Due to this, and its function as the terminus for a relatively new trans-island trade route, the city soon became a hub for both the entertainment and outdoor recreation industries. In fact, modern national media productions have as much to owe to Äuszer as they do to famous Estegoa.. including TÖBUK's WorldVision operations.

Of course, one of the most famous aspects of Äuszer is its resurgent native regional religion, borne from the synthesis of various formerly isolated clans in the area. This religion, known to most as Šintonuskonto and more specifically as Natsun-ttookutsinpalvonta, is known for its reliance on fiery elements and is based on a system of highly ritualized sacrifice, a practice little known in the rest of the nation. Fortunately, this is only practiced among adherents to the religion, so uninvolved onlookers are completely safe from any unsavory scenes. On the other hand, the more common Maailmainusko religion, practiced by the plurality of Tödlichebujokis, is also strong in the city. This more moderate religion was largely based in the wintry west of the nation during prehistoric times, and traveled to the east "only" a millenium ago. Still, the two religions coexist peacefully in Äuszer, providing one half of the inspiration for the motto for Tödlichebujoku's host bid for WorldVision 89: Ice and Fire. The synthesis of fiery Šintonuskonto and icy Maailmainusko continue to create a spark that drives the city to be one of the greatest in the nation.

The second half of the motto derives from Äuszer's geography. The city is backed by a mountain range, known as the "Backbone of Tödlichebujoku" as it hosts the tallest mountains in the nation. Many of these are volcanic, and thanks in part to the presence of various safeguards and rituals, erupt quite slowly and peacefully. The taller mountains sport glaciers and snowpacks on their summits, which interact with ubiquitous lava flows to create a stunning spectacle of contrasts. Here, ice and fire combine quite visibly to create an unforgettable experience.

From the bustle and lights of the waterfront to the rugged coastline away from the city...

Contrasts abound, even within nature itself. Pictured are the sacred Alamaailman Savupiippu summit in autumn and the Äuszer city flower, the perhonenkukka

So what do you do here in Äuszer? Well, it depends on what you like. The city has a little something for everyone. Those interested in culture have a vast array of temples and shrines to visit, as well as museums (the Historical Center, Academy of Natural History, Wartime Defense Monument and Interpretive Center) and homes of various Tödlichebujoki stars known from film, music, and art.

Those more interested in nature also have much to choose from. The Backbone has hiking opportunities for anywhere from a day's to a fortnight's worth of adventure, with informative stations to help you decide which route is best for you. Rather relax by the ocean? Great stretches of rugged coastline lay north and south of the city, abounding with spectacular cliffsides and beaches, and sprinkled with small fishing villages and resort towns. Whale-watching trips and open-sea fishing experiences are also popular choices. Prefer the city but still want to enjoy a bit of nature? The Üüsertsenkeiken Gardens and Conservatory are centrally located near the downtown and are perfect for a long day of strolling and photography without much hassle.

If neither of those sorts of things are your style, still more options abound. The Kuiskaten Setreyá Raceway is the region's premier racing circuit and hosts many events throughout the year- the weekly lap days and drag racing nights are popular and affordable to both watch and participate in. Those more interested in shopping have plenty of downtown stores and boutiques to choose from. The classy downtown Satavuotiskatu shopping district and the scenic family-friendly waterfront shops and restaurants are great places to spend a breezy afternoon. There's something for everyone to do in Äuszer!

Concerts are popular on summer and autumn nights

When the sun goes down, the city streets really come alive. Aside from the famously Tödlichebujoki adult entertainment district and services (room service can be quite engaging if requested), Äuszer's streetside clubs and bars provide for a great nighttime experience. Clubbers arriving for Tödlichebujoku's famed EDM scene will find an array of different clubs catering to different tastes in which to dance their hearts out. Looking for something cozier and chill? Various low-key music bars dot the city, allowing for a relaxing night with indie bands and singers. Those wanting to embrace the outdoors have options, too. The Waterfront Bandshell and Üüsertsenkeiken Gardens have weekly concerts, with the Bandshell playing more pop, dance, and rap as opposed to the Gardens' jazz, soul, and rock. Whether you want to hook up or just dance, let loose or simply unwind, Äuszer has just the thing for you.

Whether you like hot and packed clubs or chill music bars, Äuszer's got you covered

Äuszer's famous honey-glazed pine-smoked chicken

A person's got to eat, right? Äuszer has restaurants with cuisines from a great number of different countries and cultures, but its native food is spectacular in its own right. The region's famed honey-glazed pine-smoked chicken is served in every town in the region, with various twists on the same recipe. Downtown's gourmet S E A restaurant infuses lemon thyme and ginger into theirs. Vilyelkáá Ásken, a more traditional "farm-style" restaurant, serves theirs with caramelized wild onion and meadow mint.

Another Äuszer specialty is tea. Tea plants have been cultivated on foothills throughout the east coast for centuries, and thus a wide spectrum of teas have been developed and refined. Varieties and infusions are available for all sorts of uses, from invigoration and relaxation to medicine and sexual potency.

And of course, there's dessert. Hedelmát yáátikkó, a shaved ice and fruit juice confection, is usually served with juice from the east coast's unique cool-summer sweet oranges in the late afternoon, after a long hike or long stretch of hard work. However it is an adaptable dish, and is now often served late at night as well, sometimes mixed with liquor or a cocktail instead of just fruit juice. For a classically Tödlichebujoki/Äuszer fusion, try it with Seltsáámeboči vodka and the cool-summer orange juice.

The Šinton Sunrise

After a long day traveling, and perhaps checking out the city, you'll want to have a place to stay and spend the night. The Grand Quetzal, an old hotel that was nearly demolished a few decades ago, has been restored to its former glory and is now the destination for those after a luxurious, classy experience. A newer hotel, The Šinton Sunrise, is built around the former headquarters of an old Nahua community organization that relocated to a less commercial location. It has a much more modern style than the Quetzal, and has excellent views of both the downtown area and the waterfront. For the week centered around WorldVision, these two hotels have agreed to slash prices to become affordable for a larger portion of the general public. Of course, a great many other options are available if the big name hotels aren't for you. Many small inns and adult establishments are also providing special WorldVision packages.

Image
Enjoy your stay in comfort, whether you like it traditionally classy or smooth and modern

Image

But first, you have to get here. TÖBUK has arranged with Elohopea Lentoreitit (Mercury Airways) for expanded passenger dragon coverage in WorldVision nations. For anyone worried about the safety of riding dragons, Tödlichebujoki passenger dragons have been intensively domesticated and trained to be docile and stable, and in fact have proven safer than similar vehicles powered by explosive substances. However, regular passenger airplanes equipped for passage into Tödlichebujoku's universe will also be available, for those preferring a more normal travel experience. Those looking to avoid air travel in general will be able to travel through IU (interuniversal) portals set up by the broadcaster in major cities. The trips will be affordable, with the plane and dragon flights including complimentary meals.

Within the city, there are plenty of ways to get around. As a wide, sprawling city, transportation is paramount in Äuszer, and the transportation options reflect this. The subway system connects the downtown to the outer suburbs, and to rail lines that further connect to other Tödlichebujoki cities. The ferries travel from the waterfront piers to islands and small communities along the coast, while the airlanes and roads do the same on land, connecting to the interprovincial highway system. Air taxis and buses take you where you need to go within the city, and as in the rest of the nation's cities, tourist dragon rides allow for a breathtaking tour of the skies above Äuszer.

Image
Between the subway system and the airport, you can go virtually anywhere in and from Äuszer

Image
Image

Now, the most important part of the contest, aside from the music itself, is the venue. Äuszer's Ametsuči Dome is the go-to location for major national and international events. From sports to concerts to conventions, Ametsuči Dome can handle the masses and provide a satisfying experience. In its new concert formation it can hold 52,000 people, perfect for a massive international event. The flags of participating nations will be projected on the side of the Dome in a scrolling fashion in the week before WorldVision, and the contest will be projected live on one side, so that it is visible from a nearby sports park (which will be unused at the time).

The stage will be flanked by tiers of LCD screens, and backed by moveable vertical screens. Pyrotechnics, lasers, fog, flames, arena-wide projectors, and weather effects will all be available. The stage floor and walkout will also be LCD screens. The walkout, representing the element of music in the spirit of the bid's motto, will be shaped like an electric guitar, and depending on the viewer, a musical note as well. The stage's simple overall design will make it simple for delegations looking to create a more classical stage, yet still allows for more innovative possibilities with the multiple tiers on each side.

Image

Image

The postcards will be based off an element that your nation embodies or is based on, and includes your nation's national colors with the name of the element in your nation's primary language. For example, Tödlichebujoku's element is "ice" due to its generally polar nature while Kalosia's is "water" due to its island nature and maritime tradition. These postcards are rather easy to create, and as in WV36 and 63, every nation with a complete entry posted will receive a completed postcard before the end of the contest.

Strengthened by disparity.
Adventure for everyone.
An unforgettable experience.

Thank you for considering Äuszer for your host in WorldVision 89, and we hope you choose Tödlichebujoku as your top choice. Any questions or comments? We'll be available through telegram, Discord (username: Tekanu), and forum!

IT'S INITA GOLD FOR POLKOPIA

Moments ago, the Grand Final for the Landa vy Polkopiya came to an end, and with it, Polkopia representative for the 89th Worldvision Song Contest had been selected. After a nail-biting voting sequence, the PNB has confirmed that Inita Gold won the competition with her song, People. Her song had swept away the international jury votes, with three nations awarding her top marks, and narrowly came second place in the domestic televote, falling just seven points behind fan-favorite Morning, sung by past Worldvision winner, Anna Viktoreevna. In the post-show press conference, Inita confirmed to the PNB that she intended for her song to retain the same lyrics as it had during her performance, and that the song would remain entirely in English.

Host voting for Worldvision opens up on Monday, March 15th at 20:00 GMT and the show is set to begin on March 22nd. Details about the Polkopian entry can be found below:

STOP VOTING NOW! The Results are in!

The international juries have voted and the winner has been decided! We're now going to the Imperial Centre in Densmouth, where Vian Genamman and Marion Ziemniak are about to present the results! Take it away!

V: "Thank you all for that lovely interval act! I can't wait for my holiday to Sorechlandt either! Now, it's time that we reveal the votes! Why don't you start, Marion?"

M: "Of course! Two international juries voted this edition, one from the lovely Britonisea and one from the, uhm... They're from Todlichebujoku! Let's see their votes!"

The scoreboard below flashes up on the screen. Murmurs can be heard from the audience.
Image

V: "Wow, two ties? That's a coincidence if I've ever seen one! Thank you very much, international juries! Now we move onto our non-qualifying juries for phase 2! Much like the international juries, they'll award 12, 10, 8 and 7 votes to their favourite songs! Let's begin with Douria!"

M: "Here's the Dourien results!
Iffrwff - seven votes!
Arianos - eight votes!
Sorechlandt - ten votes!
Anerbrawf - twelve votes!
Our next jury is from Vanirstaw! Take it away, Vian!"

V: "Of course! Vanirstaw gives..
Seven votes to Sorechlandt!
Eight votes to Anerbrawf!
Ten votes to Iffrwff!
Twelve votes to Arianos!
And our third and penultimate jury is from Dentricia, our hosts! Take it away, Marion!"

M: "Well then! Here's Dentrician votes!
Seven votes to Arianos!
Eight votes to Anerbrawf!
Ten votes to Iffrwff!
Twelve votes to Sorechlandt!
And finally, the votes from Haufenburge!"

V: "Seven votes to... Anerbrawf!
Eight votes to... Sorechlandt!
Nine.. sorry, ten votes to... Iffrwff!
And finally, twelve votes to Arianos!"

M: "That brings us to the end of our second phase, let's now see the scoreboard!"

Image
The audience cheers for Arianos!

V: "But that's not the end of it yet! The tables can always be turned! We now go to our third phase - our competing artists will come up on the screen behind us - they're sitting in the greenroom now - and give us their country's votes, with 12 going to their favourite, 10 to their second and 8 to their third! Who will we be going to first?"

A map appears on the screen behind them, zooming into Iffrwff. Shots of the harbours and lowlands, the city and the country, the flow of Iffrwff. It then fades out to show Dwynwen Mwyn in the greenroom.

M: "Hello Dwynwen! Lovely performance out there tonight! Can we have Iffrwff's votes please?"

DM: "Thanks very much Marion! Good luck to all of you! Anyway, here's the votes of the Iffrwn jury!
8 points go to... Anerbrawf and the Hésaans!
10 of our points go to... Sorechlandt's Séverine Feldt! Great song!
And that means our final 12 points go too... Mary O'Enpont from Arianos! We loved your song and we wish you luck!
That completes our voting! Bye bye now!"

V: "Thank you very much Dwynwen! Speaking of Ms O'Enpont, we're going to her now, for she'll be presenting the Arianosien vote! Let's see them now!"

The map from before zooms in on Arianos, taking a trip around its famed castles, its mystical ruins and its traditional cities. We go to the greenroom, where Mary O'Enpont is shown.

MO: "Goud evanier Dantrisa!"

M: "Hello Mary! May we have your votes please?"

MO: "Au cors! Ayt poynts go to.. Iyfoif! That's 8 for Iffrwff!
Ten poynts go to... Sorikland! That's ten for the lovely Sorechlandt!
And vat mean vat Y'm gyveng our twyl poynts to... Abernawt! That's 12 for Anerbrawf! Thank you very much!"

M: "You're most welcome, Mary! Now we go to our penultimate jury tonight, the Sorech jury! Let's go there now!"

Shots of the Sorech mountains, the Rofterwich orchards and the hills. We then go to Séverine Feldt, who is sitting in the greenroom.

V: "Hello, Séverine!"

Séverine remains silent.

M: "Séverine?"

SF: "Hello Vian! I'm here to present ze votes!"

V: "Hello Séverine, camera must have gone out for a second!"

SF: "Malfunction, hmm? Anyway, here are ze Sorech votes!
Eight votes for Anerbrawv!
Ten votes for Iffrauf!
Zvolf votes for Arianos!
Danke!"

M: "Thanks very much, Séverine! Our final jury comes from Anerbrawf, let's see them!"

A short presentation of sights from Anerbrawf is shown, with the one city and seven towns being given flyovers. The southern hill is shown, and then the picture fades to show the Hésaan sisters in the greenroom.

M: "Hello Sophie! I see Katrien and Jacomina are with you! Can we have your votes please?"

SH: "Hello Marion! Of course you may! Here are the votes that could decide this evening's results!"

KH: "We give eight points to.. Sorechlandt!"

JH: "Our ten points go to... Arianos!"

At this the audience begins to cheer.

SH: "And that means that our twelve points go to Iffrwff!"

V: "Thank you very much. It's now time to reveal our winner. 8 of 11 countries in Carrelie have participated, and only 1 can take home the crown and go to Worldvision. That one country is, drum roll please..."

"ARIANOS!"
Image
M: "Congratulations Mary, you'll be representing Carrelie at Worldvision 89! Now, why don't you come up and give us a reprise?"

And so WorldSong 89 drew to a close, with thunderous applause from the audience. Ms O'Enpont will represent Carrelie at the contest with her song 'Alone'.

The National Television and Radio broadcaster of Plangainer, AIM, has concluded their internal selection after postponing the previously scheduled Melodine National Selection.

Four artists have been picked out to a list of those who haven't yet been added to the originally planned lineup for Melodine, and performed demo versions of their songs in the first round of the selection, two songs with the highest score from the jury passed onto the second phase of the selection, where the two remaining artists performed finalized versions of their songs.

An additional four members were selectively added to the jury, where they judged the song based on their instrumental, performance, and vocal counterparts. In the end, "Closer" by Eloisa Serrato was chosen as the runaway winner.

HOST VOTING RESULTS!

And your time is up! Don't vote from now, as your vote may still be charged.
We had a fun fight between three great bids for the eighty-ninth running of the contest, and there was a lot of variation between all three of them, from a nation potentially marking their debut as a host, to a well-tenured nation completing their hat-trick, to a fundamental change to the entire contest itself! Three very different, and very good bids. However, which one has won the community's backing? Fifteen nations have given their opinion, but there can be only one winner. Who has done it? Who will be hosting Worldvision 89? Let's find out!

in 3rd place... Banksia, Beepee with 144 points!

in 2nd place... Rakaphy, Ertzei Kishim with 148 points!

Äuszer, Tödlichebujoku will be hosting the Worldvision Song Contest 89 with 158 points!

Thank you very much to all three bidders, and a congratulations to the host winner! See you all there!

Thank you all so much! Beepee and Kish, you both did a great job!

Alright, as for the thread, it's a little WIP but I need to go run some errands, and I know you are all eager to get posting so:
