She pointed her sword at Hillshire, centimeters away. “Garibaldi, your gun.”
Garibaldi pulled out a gun and pointed it at Hillshire. “Put it down and call them off!”

Scipio pulled his gun and sword and pointed the gun at Guiseppe and the sword in Nura's back
"LEt them go."

Nura promptly moved her hand to push him against the wall, not harming him yet, but inhibiting his ability to move.

With the attack in Apulia underway, and me not yet knowing about it, I looked over to where the Field Marshal entered - and greeted all men in the room, 'forgetting' all women. Something our hostess did take exception to, making that known by attacking the man.

I rubbed my temples.

Of those who remained stationing the trebuchets, they advanced into the burning village and slaughtered any remaining survivors barring the children, all of whom would now be forever afflicted with deep, irreparable trauma, likely unable to ever hear the Arabic language again without these memories triggering...

The remains of the lamia their comrades found were burnt, and the last fighters moved further inland to kill any they found, but until then, they hid, somewhere, waiting to strike...

The cruiser of the Free Lands would not have to wait long. The frigate in question, the ORP Kielce, evidently had been looking for them too.

A SH-60 Sikorsky Sea Hawk appeared on the horizon and began to attempt radio contact. Assuming it was established, the helicopter would identify itself as being from the Kielce, as well as giving them the location of the Commonwealth frigate; approximately a hundred nautical miles to the south, under strict emissions control.

When our radar spotted the helicopter, it was closer to us then I would have liked. Shite, we needed to get those drones up...
This time, they were friendly, a Seahawk from ORP Kielce, a Commonwealth frigate in the area. They were looking for us, but under radio silence and emmission control.
I nodded to my radio officer, who spoke into the radio: "Kielce-1, Fair Maiden..." Our call sign, based on what bruinneall meant in English, fair maiden. "...understood. We request you to relay our greetings and best wishes to your Captain. Please contact us if any issues arise. Over."
For how wonderful SEA was for trade and commerce, it was also a bit of a defensive military alliance, its members sworn in on mutual defense - and as one of those, the cooperation between the different armed forces left a bit to be desired, in my opinion.
In any case, we were here and we were now sure, that the Commonwealth was here as well.
The party could get started!

Giuseppe calmly let Hillshire ease off of him, and then slammed his chest, crushing the radio and causing one last transmission. This was the per-arranged panic-signal; under this plan Hillshire would run and Giuseppe would cover him.

Hillshire, for his part, ran like hell, drawing his pistol as he did so. Giuseppe, however, kept his pistol in his holster and stared down Nura and Garibaldi more or less unarmed.

"I had done so." the Italian calmly replied. "But this situation has appears to have made rescinding that necessary."

He glanced around the room. "Apologies to the more...reasonable and level-headed delegations here. I highly suggest you all evacuate this building before our host has another breakdown."

Mariana and Sophia

The two girls walked hand-in-hand as they headed home.

"Sophia?" The older, olive-skinned girl asked, glancing at her younger compatriot. "Are you alright?"

"I...I'm fine." Sophia replied, softly. "I really am, Mariana. I just wish, I could have..."
"Mhm?"
"I wish I could've done something. I wanted to...prove myself."
"Sophia." Mariana halted, putting her hands on the shoulders of the younger girl. "You already did. Remember your first homework assignment? When you snapped? Not all problems can be solved by kicking down the door. You've made Mister Hillshire and Mister Giuseppe proud today, and you've certainly impressed me. Restraint is a trait that is important in our class and you showed it in spades today."
Sophia nodded, smiling. "Mm! Thank you, Mariana."
"Don't thank me." Mariana returned the smile. "You were the one who did it. You'll be going places after this, Sophia, once this is all over-"

Thema IV - Gunslinger Girls

Both girls halted, as if struck by lightning. A long, monotonous beep - the distress signal, that indicated that something had gone badly at the conference.

More quickly than should have been possible for a 12 year old and 16 year old schoolgirl, respectively, both took off towards the conference building, which all told, wasn't too far off. As soon as they came up to the entrance, both released their cases, revealing an immense wealth of ammunition, and weapons; a pair of M9 pistols for both of them, Mariana's Winchester Model 1897 with bayonet, and Sophia's P90.

Both nodded at each other and kicked in the door, immediately spraying down and suppressing the guards with a rain of bullets. Both knew their orders - Sophia would extract Hillshire and any foreign ambassadors with him, while Mariana would extract Giuseppe and any foreign ambassadors with him.
