Outside of the penthouse of the island headquarters tower of the Fenwick Foundation, the thunder and rain crashed and poured down, and far down below the waves dashed against the base. The painful heights of cliché had been reached, the end of a project three years in the making drawing closer with every post.

The 14 parachuted intelligence personnel were on the roof. They went towards the highest floor and would keep going until they reach George Fenwick's office.
They had an indictment for murder, obstruction of justice, tyranny (as hirabah), forced marriage (as hirabah), sex trafficking (as hirabah) as well as financial crimes like fraud and war crimes from when Munkchester was in the World Assembly.

Checking the surveillance cameras, they quickly realised what they were up against: trained special forces. But they, too, were also trained, and many of them were also ex-special forces...

"Plus the right to live in our nation as either citizens or refugees (your choice) if you fear retribution" the officer continued, it was an extremely good deal and only a fool or an idealist hero would turn it down. And if they were idealist heroes they would never have made the offer in the first place.

In his office, Fenwick was checking his computer, wondering how on earth these intruders had even reached his island in the first place. He quickly discovered that the operators of the missile defence system, which had been outsourced, had stopped working due to non-payment because somewhere along the line a bank had decided Fenwick was a 'known slaver'.

Checking the cameras, he also quickly discovered that his security team had switched sides. A cacophony of "YOU'RE FIRED!" roared out of walkie-talkies across the tower.

Meanwhile, in the fancy corridor leading up to Fenwick's office, the now-unemployed former security team informed the officer that, yes, the office was just straight ahead, having not been informed of the ability of Fenwick's office to go into lockdown (a very topical word).
