Jonska Fretsburg THE Barn, Cavirfi

@Helmeiner: Ok fine I'll admit it, I don't have a phone, because I grew up believing in PC Master Race and shit so I always thought phones were inferior (they pretty much are technologically). So I don't have a phone for that reason, but now that you say it, I should've been more prepared for the day I would be selected to be appointed as an MP and now that I'm far from the nearest city, I can't buy a phone :(

I need to get my head out of the sand and buy a phone as soon as possible after I'm appointed MP.

Rev. Fr. Isidro Satou III, CSsR Cebu City, DH

When I was a boy, your executioner made known to me thy triumphs, O Marcellinus, and thine also, O Peter. The mad butcher gave him this commandment—that he should sever your necks in the midst of the thickets in order that no one should be able to recognize your grave, and he told how you prepared your sepulcher with eager hands. Afterwards you lay hid in a white cave, and then Lucilla was caused to know by your goodness that it pleased you rather to lay your sacred limbs here.
- Pope St. Damasus' epitaph for Ss. Marcellinus and Peter

The Gospel reading for today, the Optional Memorial of Ss. Marcellinus and Peter, is Jn 17:11b-19, an excerpt of The Prayer of Jesus, the entire episode covering all of Chapter 17. In the preconciliar form of the Mass, the Feast includes a third saint, Erasmus, and is a Class IV Feast Day; the Gospel reading is Jn 15:5-11.
Ss. Marcellinus and Peter were martyred in AD 304, during the Diocletianic Persecution, decapitated at the behest of the magistrate Severus (or Serenus). The epitaph above is written by Pope St. Damasus I (feast day: December 11th), who heard the story of their martyrdom from their executioner, Dorotheus, who was converted by Pope St. Julius I (feast day: April 12th).
Today, our Eastern brethren celebrate the Ascension of Our Lord. By this coming Sunday, we celebrate Pentecost--or, as some call it, the anniversary of the Church.

A member of the District Council has died in hospital. The family of Mark Pius Aldemita, the District Councilor representing Minglanilla, DH, spoke with media earlier tonight confirming rumors of the second-termer's demise. Aldemita was one of the five persons taken to hospital after an attack on a party held at the Fuente Osmeña Roundabout Park on the night of May 30th; the 67-year-old man, a veteran of the Philippine Civil War, was survived by three children and four grandchildren.

The Office of the Vice President offers its condolences to the family of Mark Pius Aldemita. Aldemita was one of many fighters whose service brought the Confederation independence, trading the rifle he picked up in war for law books in peace; as District Councilor for Minglanilla, he was among the voices Kali Pulako's Own could count on to support their efforts not only as the District's Militia, but also as the first response to any disaster that may befall the District. I am expected to nominate a replacement for Aldemita, but until then, I am assigning Wilhelmina Nemeño-Song, one of the District Councilors At Large, as acting District Councilor for Minglanilla.
On a related note, as Administrator of the District of Humabon, I am implementing a curfew across the District of Humabon effective tomorrow night, with the following provisions:
  • Curfew hours will be from ten in the evening to four the following morning
  • The following are considered essential travel that may be made during curfew hours:
    • Travel to and from healthcare facilities
    • Travel to and from workplaces
    • Transport of essential goods
    • Travel to and from facilities of Kali Pulako's Own, including private buildings requisitioned for defense
    • Travel to and from worship services
    • Travel to and from government offices
  • Curfew will be enforced by DH Metro

The exact size of my nation is currently unknown. I sort of roughly know, but I've been constantly changing up nation details, while never having anything totally concrete to begin with. So, stuff I say here will probably change in the future.

Princess Annie Sumpter Park, Vestrad, The Krainin Isles

@Marianna I. I'm Princess Annie, adopted daughter of Queen Alexis II and Queen Consort Katie. Yes, the Queen is married to a woman. There's a few people on this site that hates The Isles just because of that. Anyway, that's a lot of cool information of your nation. Here's some info about The Isles.

The Isles is around 275,000 square kilometers with a population of around 80 million. The Isles is two island chains, about 600 kilometers appart, consisting of nearly 1,000 islands and split between four different kingdoms under one flag and ruler.

The four kingdoms of The Isles are:
Vestrad, where the capital of the country, Seplan, is
Jegrar, where the largest city, Leckin, is
Ashos, where the flagship of the navy, HRMS Dreadnought, is stationed, Port Elrod
Adrines, where a lot of historical (and some modern) conflicts come from

The Isles just celebrated 1,001 years of being a nation, founded in April 921 A.D. There's been 6 civil wars/conflicts with the most recent being the Fredrick Rebellion in 1883. The only conflict Krainin has been in recently has been with a former colony, Shezana. Two conflicts have happened with that nation in the past 25 years, but war was never declared between them.

Oh, and the official name of the nation is The Krainin Isles, with a capital the, but it's shorted down to Krainin, mainly by foreigners, or The Isles, mainly by the people themselves, but the terms are interchangeable.

- St. Charles Lwanga (1860-1886)

The Gospel reading for today, the Obligatory Memorial of the Protomartyrs of Uganda (St. Charles Lwanga and Companions), is Mt 5:1-12a, which opens The Sermon on the Mount with The Beatitudes. In the preconciliar form of the Mass, this is Class IV Feria, the Feria after Ascension--and the First Friday, at that! The decree Cum Sanctissima (Pope Francis, 2020) allows for the observation of this Obligatory Memorial in said form today.
St. Charles Lwanga was among the 45 converts, 23 Anglican and 22 Catholic, who were killed in Uganda between 1885 to 1887 and are venerated as martyrs. Their defiance to a king who thought himself God may have been overshadowed--and even exploited--by the geopolitical realities of the era, but their commitment to Christ, a faith embraced all the way to the stake where the Catholic converts met their martyrdom, could not be denied; in fact, such martyrdom also proved that the new faith was compatible with ideas of heroism embraced as tradition during the time.

It should go without saying, but none of these characters represent my actual views IRL.

Paulo Escovar (58) is the head of the Comando Vermelho (Red Command), the biggest and most violent of the factions opposing the Brazilian monarchy in the ongoing civil war, secretly backed by the governments of Russia, China, Iran and North Korea. In addition to insurgency and guerrilla warfare, the gang also participates in organized crime and drug/arms/human trafficking.

Graciela Escovar (20) is the spoiled, sheltered and brainwashed daughter of Paulo Escovar. She blindly supports her father, ignoring the death and suffering he has caused to the Brazilian people, if it means she can ride the gravy train. In addition, she's a pampered "champagne socialist" who was raised with a silver spoon, and is completely clueless to what it's really like under socialism. To her, Marxism means living luxuriously and not having to work or pay for anything.

Both of them are going to be killed later on, in an Osama-style raid on their home, by the Spanish military forces.

Paulo Escovar Rio de Janeiro

We, the liberation soldiers of the Red Command, take full responsibility and credit for the events of May 31, 2022. The Spanish Crown has been oppressing and robbing our country for decades, treating our land as their own personal playground, and destroying our rainforests. They carry out their vile acts in the name of peacekeeping, foreign aid, and providing support for the "legitimate" imperial government—lapdogs who roll over without question to please their colonial masters and the military-industrial complex. We are prepared to put the imperial swines in their place. It's time they start minding their own business and stop sticking their noses where they don't belong.

@Casa Imperial de España - Imperial Household of Spain God bless the Empire? Pah! I spit on your God and your Empire! In fact, if hell exists, I'd gladly join all of you silver-tongued devils there. Viva Brasil Livre! Viva a Revolução!

Francisco Escudeiro Holy Catholic State of Portugal

A reminder that self-titled "socialists" like @Paulo Escovar and @Graciela Escovar are not true socialists, they are Satan-worshipping punks and drug addicts who were taught to reject authority and tradition, by the Marxist university system. The only true socialist is Jesus Christ.

@Graciela Escovar What you are describing is not socialism, it is decadent materialism. Nothing exists for free, all that wealth has to come from somewhere. And in your case, it comes from your father's criminal activities, such as selling drugs and running protection rackets, as well as exploiting forced labor—much worse than the government you're opposed to, and hypocritical to boot, especially since your stated objective is to free the Brazilian people from oppression.

But champagne "socialists" like yourself will never understand that, since you were raised with a silver spoon all your life, and have probably never experienced what it is actually like to live under socialism. You were not around in Portugal, in the 1970s, to see what Marxists did to our country, but I was, and it was a violent and horrible time, like the Troubles in Northern Ireland. The thugs were beating up women and children, burning down churches, and killing priests. But thank God for Afonso Salazar, who swiftly put an end to the wickedness and restored the true Christian faith.

Mark my words, one day this house of cards will come crashing down with you in it, so you should better get out and repent, while you still have the chance.

Fr. (CDR) Tecumseh C. Piañar Bacolod, NG

The Gospel reading for Pentecost is either Jn 20:19-23, the Appearance to the Disciples, or Jn 14:15-16, 23b-26, excerpts of The Advocate. In the Extraordinary Form, the Gospel reading is Jn 14:23-31.

With the descent of the Holy Spirit, the Church was born. The faithful baptized with Holy Spirit and fire, the birth of Christendom as we know it, and the beginning of an continual outpouring available to all the faithful, regardless of origins...all these can be traced to the Pentecost.

REPLY

Rev. Fr. Isidro Satou III, CSsR Cebu City, DH

Retracing the course of the Virgin Mary’s life, the Second Vatican Council recalls her presence in the community waiting for Pentecost. “But since it had pleased God not to manifest solemnly the mystery of the salvation of the human race before he would pour forth the Spirit promised by Christ, we see the Apostles before the day of Pentecost ‘persevering with one mind in prayer with the women and Mary the Mother of Jesus, and with his brethren’ (Acts 1:14), and we also see Mary by her prayers imploring the gift of the Spirit, who had already overshadowed her in the Annunciation” (Lumen gentium, n.59). The first community is the prelude to the birth of the Church; the Blessed Virgin’s presence helps to sketch her definitive features, a fruit of the gift of Pentecost.
- General Audience of St. John Paul II, May 28th, 1997

The Gospel reading for today, the Vigil of Pentecost, is Jn 7:37-39, the episode on the Rivers of Living Water. In the preconciliar form of the Mass, the Vigil Mass of Pentecost is a Class I Feast Day; the Gospel reading is Jn 14:15-21.
It is in Pentecost that we commemorate the birth of Christendom with the Descent of the Holy Spirit among the Apostles and, implicitly, the Blessed Mother. We say "implicitly" because we know at the very least that she was there with Jesus' kinsmen and the Apostles in a spiritual communion of daily prayer (Acts 1:14).

It's nice to see so many other heads of state, heads of government, and other high level political figures have taken to this platform recently. They may almost all be royals and nobility but I'm sure we can find some common ground as so many of those who have taken to this platform are, like myself, women in high level political positions.

On a different note, I've taken up firearms training recently. As president, I do have a security detail and would never need to defend myself with a gun. However, I think it's a fun way to de-stress on days off and good physical activity depending on the type of drills you go through.

Queen Consort Katie Seplan, Vestrad, The Krainin Isles

@Aryana Zahor, @Yukiko Kujo Yeah, I've noticed an influx of royalty since the last time I've been on this site.

Also, hello to you both. I'm Queen Consort Katie Montcroix, wife of the current Krainin monarch, Queen Alexis II.
