JUST IN: Governor Marvin Alexander Ardiente of Panay has announced that current restrictions related to the sale and possession of firearms have been suspended, instituting a caveat for all purchases made from tomorrow, May 9th, until the end of the crisis. Instead of a six-week waiting period from purchase to possession, all purchases have been expedited with the caveat that the buyer attend a set of mandatory training lessons provided by the Provincial Government gratis starting as early as within the day for purchases made in the morning. To this end, the Provincial Government has activated the Panay Militia and the 1st Panay Mountain Division.

Panay Militia visited Franklin and Ruiz. Turns out some of the researchers had just arranged for weapons training. On one hand, it is amusing to see soldiers introducing scientists to the finer workings of a carbine; on the other, I am concerned for some of my colleagues. One in particular means well, but I wouldn't trust him even with my derringer. Jumpy as hell, but damn, can he do good writeups.

@Elin of the Banks of the Bán River: We're both worried; I'm high enough the corporate ladder that I won't expect to be called up any time soon, but if push comes to shove we might end up having to coordinate with the VCDD regarding the possibility of building something akin to Liberty Ships. It is sorely tempting to take a flight back home to pick up my late father's old service weapons and sign up with the Bohol Provincial Guard, but someone has to make sure VAI's overseas branches are running well enough that they can support the homeland with cargo ships, fiberglass-based prefab, and small arms. Besides, I cannot in good conscience leave Amy behind, not without the certainty of returning to her alive and well.

His Majesty has seen fit to convene the Advisory Council on the matter of the recent attacks on territory held by the Visayans. The Defense Minister has pointed out that the random attacks by overzealous personnel only serve to undermine the long-term goals of His Majesty's Government, while the Minister of Foreign Affairs has cited the response of the Visayans' allies to the attacks. It is, to my relief, that His Majesty has not seen fit to commit to an actual attack.

My husband and I are rotating days with KPO for a four-legged reason, after all: I train MWF in the evenings, Marion trains TThS. We still have day jobs, after all; I'm part of the Socialist Party's administrative staff at the national level, Marion is a banker. Irony as we are wed, but even you get the point.

So it's a late Tuesday night, I tried going to bed but due to my excessive screen time I couldn't sleep, so you know what I did? I told Mom and Dad that I was gonna leave for a bit, bought a few bus tickets, took the bus to the other side of town, bought a shirt with some fluffy dudes printed on it, and then came back home. Now I am extremely tired and all I want to do is to wear the shirt for school tomorrow, but since I'm extremely tired from all the shopping (for one shirt mind you), I just decided to follow what was always told of me after buying new clothes. I put the shirt in the washing machine and let it slow-wash overnight then I'll have it dried while I prepare for school after waking up.
