Visayan TV Cebu City, DH

The Visayan Contingent to the Treaty of Subic Bay Site is demanding answers from their New Filipino counterparts in light of last night's failed rocket attack on a Visayan town originating from the Marquisate of Sorsogon. The rocket attack was intercepted by land-based Counter Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar systems over the town of Allen, SM; rumors that the attack was a test of New Luzon's latest rocket artillery system abound in online commentary.

Mercury News Mandaue, DH

Defense analysts have suggested the rockets used in last night's failed attack from New Luzon, intercepted by Visayan C-RAM systems over Allen, Samar, were the products of a New Filipino missile program with roots dating back to the early 1970s, during the antebellum rule of then-President Ferdinand Marcos, Senior. While the original program envisioned, among other things, rocket artillery operating on the same principle as the Katyusha rockets of World War 2, the current program, nicknamed Santa Barbara Reborn accounting for the dearth of open-source information, is rumored to envision a family of missiles ranging from tactical ballistic missiles to long-rang air defense and anti-ship missiles.
- Julia Sta. Ana, Mercury News

The missile program in question was a thing IRL. In-universe, "Santa Barbara Reborn" involves indigenous designs with capabilities comparable to various missiles: tactical ballistic missiles comparable to the SS-21 Scarab, SAMs comparable to the SA-21 Growler, Type 03 Chu-SAM, and Type 91 Hand Arrow; and anti-ship missiles comparable to the Naval Strike Missile and Atmaca.

We are deeply concerned by the actions of New Luzon against the Confederation that had ocurred last night. It is under our belief that such actions will only bring the region into a conflict no one desires; we hope that the government of New Luzon brings the perpetrators to justice for their reckless actions that put the lives of civilians in danger. We stand with the Confederation and should it be needed, Mervay will not hesitate to bring it's might down to support our allies from SEA.

So what happened was that the Chimichanga Team (as in Julie, Jake, and Reese; Mark opted out) decided that they were gonna intervene in the drama because they thought that Raphaelle's exes (who Alex exposed for being manipulative and scummy) weren't "put to justice" and basically they launched like counter-raids against Lexie's haters by raiding any comments they made on basically any part of YouTube, Twitter, or Reddit and as a result they like started a mass flamewar.

Based on a DM to me from Mark, Julie has also reportedly enlisted the help of their subscribers to "put Raphaelle's exes to justice", as of now about 50 people decided they were joining the intervention as well.

Oh boy, this is gonna escalate further I know it.

The New Filipino Contingent to the Treaty of Subic Bay Site has claimed that last night's failed rocket attack on a Visayan town originating from the Marquisate of Sorsogon was a weapons test gone awry, confirming rumors that the attack was a test of New Luzon's latest rocket artillery system. Captain Kotaro Antonio Itou, Chief of the New Filipino Contingent, assured the Visayan Contingent that the King has "a personal interest in seeing the incident resolved in an appropriate manner" without indicating what that resolution meant.
Meanwhile, the Selkie and Mervayan responses to the failed attack expressed concern and held the hope that the King would bring those responsible to justice, with the Selkie response containing a reminder of the SEA mutual defense clause along with a condemnation of the failed attack.

She has also pushed me to become a harder worker and better multitasker in order to juggle both of our needs by myself without any assistance. You know, it reminds me of a Holly Fook song I heard on the radio once. I'm not a fan of her music personally, but this part really struck a chord:

Now no matter what it is

JUST IN: Two nights after what New Luzon claims was a weapons test gone wrong was intercepted over Allen in Samar, the city of Puerto Galera, MR, was attacked by rocket artillery likely originating from the Marquisate of Batangas. Most of the rockets were intercepted by land-based C-RAM systems from the Coast Guard installation at Medio Island; the two that evaded defenses hit a beach resort.
Emergency services have been sent to the Green Dolphin Street Beach Resort, and initial casualty reports indicate one dead and ten injured.

With the recent aggression from the New Filipino Kingdom aimed at our friends in the Visayan Confederation, the Free Lands have reaffirmed their friendship with the Confederation and our commitment to the SEA-Treaty and the mutual defense clause.
One weapon test gone wrong is an accident, two, within such a short span of time, reeks of either a huge series of failures or of an attack. That people were wounded, and someone likely killed, only makes this an even more serious matter. A simple apology might not even suffice anymore, but that is at the Visayans discretion.
Be it, as it may be, we have orders to mobilize. There are exercises, far away from the Philippines, coming up soon. If we will be redirected, or if there is a need to be redirected... well, that is not in our hands right now, is it?

The continued escalation presented by the Government of New Luzon has officially reached a level that is officially that of concern; the fact they are right now ignoring their obligations with a treaty that maintains order, stability and peace in the region for their irredentist and ultranationalist ideals is concerning; we urge the New Luzon Governnent to see reason and find a diplomatic settlement to the crisis before it's too late. If not; then let it be know that Mervay will meet it's commitments and obligations as a SEA Member to defend another SEA State through the mutual defence clause of the treaty. In the name of Her Majesty, I had given the order to the military to mobilize immediately the military for any possible deployments to the confederation. May Solaria help us through these difficult times.

The values the liberal world have abandoned, abjured, and denounced remain eternal: belief in a power beyond the world, respect for authority, and love of country. That this is the same liberal world that crushed Hitler and outlasted the incarnation of Stalin through those values is a great shame for all who live in it. This rot is everywhere: it lies in the Godless Reds to the northwest, west, and deeper south; it lies in the Browns that lie in sleep as they dream themselves Gods; it lies in the shameless liberalism embraced by our neighbors further south. Even within, that rot is evident, be it manifest in those who speak ill of our Holy Mother the Church or in those of the cloth who make grave mockery of the vows they profess.

Pure Faith is the hope of humanity. Pure Faith is Love Made Manifest.

I don't know what happened to my brother; last I heard he went to church at the Cathedral, and the news about an assembly of possible subversives being broken up nearby is most worrying.

In the eve of World War I, St. Pius X is said to have replied to the Austro-Hungarian request for a blessing with a terse "I bless peace, not war." With the shadow of war flaring up even this far east, perhaps it is best for the faithful to keep this to heart.

The Gospel reading for the Fourth Sunday of Easter, Good Shepherd Sunday under the Ordinary Form, is Jn 10:27-30, an excerpt from the episode on the Feast of the Dedication. In the Extraordinary Form, the Gospel reading is Jn 16:16-22.

In addition to Good Shepherd Sunday, the Church sees this as Vocations Sunday, more formally known as the World Day of Prayer for Vocations; she has observed this since its institution in 1964 under the pontificate of St. Paul VI.

Worst comes to worst, posting of the weekly Chaplain's Corner will not be as consistent; I can at most pray that it doesn't come to that.

President Superales is not happy, although to be fair, after what King Ferdinand II and his people are doing, can you really blame him? The shadow that we call War of Aggression is a long one, after all, and getting caught in it is a really bad idea.

With Masbate not too far from us, the Governor is contemplating lifting all restrictions on the sale of firearms to the general public. In theory, that means I can buy myself a light machine gun in the morning and leave with said LMG before lunchtime; in practice, I'd find said LMG completely impractical. I'm a doctor; the most I'd likely carry is a pistol for self-defense, which is something I already do.
Anyway, we won't know until tomorrow morning at the earliest. Here's hoping we don't get attacked in the meantime.
