HAPPY NEW YEAR! Hopefully this year will be better than the last. To ring in the new year my superiors decided to organize a nice little get together, it was great to see everyone relaxing for once. Sadly we can’t celebrate too much as my unit in particular is being paired up with the 52nd Airborne Division and being deployed down to Hal’mon to assist and care for those evacuating the area after the recent natural disaster that occurred. This is my first time being sent somewhere that’s considered hostile, I’m honestly kinda of nervous.

@Noeanyyn Eamniullanos Hello it's good to see you again, I missed you. What has been happening since you've been away? As for me, well to be honest I have had a fair amount of ups and downs over this past year. For the upsides I am playing a main role in a new tv show that is going to air at some point in the new year and at the moment I have celebrated the 25th in the NVI with my partner as well as helping with the aid. This might be old news to most people here but I am now in a relationship with someone if you can believe that, I was surprised as anyone else here. As for the negatives I did sort of fall to bit quite a few times and just for the most part been feeling terrible. I know I am not really in any place to complain but it has been going on and off for a while. At least I'm getting professional help for it though.

I don't know how much I should say about myself and what I've been doing. I think there is something seriously wrong with me, Anastasija. This year (it's still 2021 for me) and last year have been so horrible, but I don't want to get into specifics. I'm alive, so I have that to be happy about, at least. Also, I don't remember if I told you before, but I have an eyepatch now. I lost my left eye last year. I don't want to talk about why, but I will say I have gotten used to it now.

@Jalnatzic the Greatest Are you talking about Kneriod? Either you don't know anything about Aaaaaa, or no news has come out about this place recently. If it's the latter, I guess I don't blame you. Kneriod has never really been the President. But I guess Aleyilakos isn't either now. This place is just a big mess. Nobody is sure who is in power. Covid has been really really bad here since it started and has never really improved. Aurnvon and Lievue had been threatening eachother to take over Aaaaaa to stop the virus. Then Aurnvon soldiers crossed the border.. and Lievueite soldiers did too. They both went to Moelle and it looked like war was about to happen, but I think they signed some stuff and now they're both awkwardly co-existing inside Moelle. I think that's what happened, at least. I have stopped paying attention to the news. Too stressful.

@Noeanyyn Eamniullanos The show is a historical drama focussing on the reign of High King Fangez IVy, my role is to play the role of his lover and eventual High Queen, hoping I can do the role justice. A lot of the show shows a lot of politics, war and industrialisation. Also Fangez IVy was interested in making sure everything developed effectively and was known to travel around Shadforad and yell at people to get back to work whether they be factory workers or factory owners. Well it does help for the most part, but at other times I do struggle. I have more or less kept this hidden for a good while. Thank you, he has been good to me, not sure what he sees in me sometimes but I’m happy he does. As for those idiots, I haven’t seen them as much thankfully and he got banned from the other site before it got nuked.

So, regarding what happened to you I’m sorry about what happened, if you need to talk about it I’ll be more than happy to listen. I know you went through a lot and I do want to help make it better for you. I did hear about the eyepatch from what Meausa told me although I don’t know what happened.

The Gospel reading for (what's left of) today, the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, is Lk 2:16-21, which covers almost the entirety of The Visit of the Shepherds (vv. 16-20; the complete account beginning at verse 15) and the Circumcision of Jesus (v. 21). In the preconcilar form of the Mass, this is a class I feast day known simply as the Octave of the Nativity of the Lord; the Gospel reading is Lk 2:21.
While the Blessed Mother has long been venerated as the Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ, it was not until 1931 that the Church instituted the Feast of the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary across all of Catholic Christendom, after initially being instituted in 1914 for the Church in Portugal; this fell on October 11th before Mysterii Paschalis (St. Paul VI, 1969) saw its observation absorbed into January 1st.

@Amy the Planter Yeah.. Everyone was nice when we were there, I thought I would have been looked at like an alien. I would like to return someday, once things over here settle down. Speaking of, I have not heard of any "SEA aid". If we were getting aid for Covid, I guess it went to Aurnvon and Lievue, or maybe our President took it for himself and used it for an island vacation or something. It wouldn't surprise me.

@Aai of Nagatani It's a really nice place. There is a university in my country, but from pictures I have seen, it's tiny in comparison to the UoF. I hope to come back eventually. I don't know what I would be doing, but it would at least look good on a resume... and I wouldn't be here, and that's the more important thing anyway.

@Anastasija Kladnov Oh.. I hope they do a good job with it. We have terrible Aaaaaan historical dramas on television all the time, that run on a non-existent budget. The pandemic has stopped more of them from being made, so I suppose that's one good thing. If it has you in it, then it should be at least decent, right? Also, you shouldn't say that kind of stuff about yourself. I think you are still affected by what those morons were saying about you before. They are satanas, but you knew that already.

And thank you, but I think Meausa is the only person I will ever talk to about it. You would, rightfully, think less of me if I told you what happened. I did both really bad and really stupid things.. that I don't think I can ever make up for. I just hope I can live long enough to redeem myself.

On the way back from an excursion this morning, I met a group of elementary schoolers - well-behaved cubs, all of them. We shared the same path for a while and the children sang a few hiking songs, which were cute. Nara and I even joined in for some of them. One of the little ones called me pretty, too, which is always nice to hear (though Nara is not scary).

I'm actually from Mindoro, which has Tagalog as the provincial language instead of Panay's Hiligaynon; I work and live in Panay these days, have been since I became a researcher at the Franklin and Ruiz Center for Regenerative Medicine. Don't get me wrong, I still do clinic hours--I specialize in Obstetrics and Gynecology--but most of my working hours involve IPSC research.
It is horrifying, though, if the aid was diverted away from places hit the hardest; so far Sylvester hasn't said anything to that effect, but I wouldn't take any chances...neither would the ship's security contingent, as far as I am aware of. That said, it would not surprise me if assistance to Aaaaaa was one of many issues talked about in the summit.

Full disclosure: Mom is the incumbent SecFA.

Anyway, there's quite a lot of repair work being planned out here in the District of Humabon. Traffic will be a bit of a pain even with the hatchback, what with all the rain and the clearing ops making taking the motorbike a bad idea. Then again, if it means a better District of Humabon, I can live with the traffic.

Over these last couple days I’ve seen devastation that I couldn’t believe possible once prior. I also find it confusing as it has yet to make national news how devastating the tsunami was that ripped up this town. Though as I go around Hal’mon it just seems to me that the entire prefecture was just seemingly forgotten, these towns are still recovering from battles fought nearly 40 years ago. How can this even happen?
