Ellen Markenkurt Edgebol, Cavirfi

I just got word that Nikol Pashinyan won the elections in Armenia, which considering he literally lost his popularity for a huge portion of late 2020 says a lot about either his charisma or the Armenian election system. But I digress, I actually like what he is doing for his country, even if he failed to unite all in the historic land of Greater Armenia.

Now why do I care? I was not born in Armenia, I was born in Saqartvelo. I never lived in Armenia, I lived in Estima for like 99% of my life, and lastly, I dont speak Armenian, I speak Georgian, Estiman, and English. So why is Armenia of a matter to me?

Because I am ethnically Armenian, my family historically lived in Western Armenia but fled to Georgia after some Russian dudes paid them to live and work for their business in Batumi. I have a connection to Armenia by blood and because of it; I feel obligated to at least give a bit of time to care for the welfare of my people even when I am in no position to do so.

So to all Armenians, I wish you a better life regardless of your religion, wealth, gender identity, or orientation. I hope that you all understand that you are not below or above anyone just because you identify with the land of Noah. This message should apply to everyone actually, you are not below or above anyone simply because you identify with a plot of land, not only is that absurd, but also barbaric.

I wish no suffering for anyone, even if you have done horrible things or wish vile harm on others, I wish you no suffering, for I have suffered as a loner in Estima, I know the pain of it, I had to live with it for basically 14 years. Let me tell you; it is shit and even if you have done above things you would still feel underserving of such loss of dignity.

So I only have 3 words to finish this off, this is a message to my people: Miat'seal Azat Hayrenik!

Good morning from (probably) the only kumiho on the internet!
I'm told that good progress has been made regarding what chemicals or whatever are needed in my diet so they can make some substitute for me. I'm not supposed to talk about too many details yet, and to be honest I don't understand everything anyway. I just hope they have it all figured out soon.

Hope everyone's doing good today.

@Lena Mesenich If you want to know my experience here is what happened to me personally, not sure what other’s experiences are and I understand that I am not always the easiest person to get on with sometimes. So maybe that was my fault I was treated like that. Still I wasn’t feeling good after those sessions. Anyway if the Church here doesn’t really recommend professional help here I can probably see where they are coming from. I do appreciate the help I have been given not only by my Priest but also the doctor I talked to the other day here as well. I understand both have people with real problems to deal with so I’ll only try and contact them when things get really bad.

I think it does as well, I’ll let you know when they start showing the episodes. I’ve enjoyed a fair amount of acting the scenes.

That probably makes more sense, be there Belford the news happens. So if there was someone running around yelling “boom” at people you’d already be there to cover it.

Hopefully this virus goes away so everything is opened up again, I’ll remember to keep safe. That sounds interesting, so I take it you’ll be going around the world covering major events?

@Bente Genhodder Got to say it all helps, maybe have a barn and a garage next to each other. Where you can work on horses and cars at the same time. ;)

@Z Doing well thank you, seems you are getting the treatment needed to be able to go out there. Hope it all works out soon.

@Lena Mesenich Well we all have problems, we all have pasts that aren’t pleasant. I’m more than happy to talk about my stories to anyone one interested, after all learning is important. But I won’t be going with this how bad I feel about it. Especially if people have their own stuff they need to sort. I also don’t see the need to be pestering doctors about it, many of these people have to perform life saving surgeries.

@Bente Genhodder, @Francisco Escudeiro I suppose there is at that. Suppose there are some on the other extreme as well. I heard from some people that we don’t need farms because there is food in supermarkets. Sometimes I do lament not being able to fully use my legs anymore, otherwise this person might have had a kick of where he was talking out of. (Winking face)

@Z According to some on this internet box there are people trying to sneak chemicals into people’s food. Is this what these people are doing to you?

@Anastasija Kladnov Thank you!

@Prince Starnalf Karlolov No no, it's not that. I'm not human, and my species has... let's just say unworkable dietary requirements, so some scientists are trying to develop some kind of artificial substitute for me to eat instead.

@Elin of the Banks of the Bán River Ouch, hailstorms suck. When driving a car, they are particularly bad, since the windshield wipers aren't really of any use there (on the contrary, you might even break them, if you try to use them during hail). The only thing you can do is to look for a shelter - that's also what I do when riding a horse.

@Anastasija Kladnov ... okay. I'm by no means a psychiatrist or anything even remotely along these lines, but if that particular post is anything to go by, the problem isn't you as a person, but rather you happening to know an awful lot of objectively terrible persons.

Looking forward! :) And yeah, at the end of the day, it wouldn't really matter all much, whether I'm in Lillorainen or outside; all that matters is to be at the place where things are happening. As long as I'm able to interview the guy running around and yelling "boom" at people, that is. ;)

@Prince Starnalf Karlolov Well, I'm sure, that Mr. Solomon is more than able and willing to enlighten you on that point more in detail, but a doctor isn't always a doctor. Doctors usually have specialized fields, and a psychiatrist is not necessarily able to perform a life-saving surgery, just like you won't ask your tooth doctor to fix your broken leg, or something like that. So, to erase your worry, yes, there is a shortage of (general) practitioners in many nations, but this is not because psychiatrists exist.

@Anastasija Kladnov Now that would be ideal - shorter distances! ;)

@Prince Starnalf Karlolov @Francisco Escudeiro ... what the shit. Okay. The only question I now have is: If your legs aren't that functional enough anymore to do what you'd be intending to do, have you considered asking them where, in their opinion, the food in the supermarkets are supposed to come from, if there are no farms anymore? ;)
But yeah, there are extremes on either side.

@Lena Mesenich Perhaps that is the case, I did for a long while take a dim view of psychology afterwards. But had realised that there are probably those out there who aren’t like that, well a lot of it was me feeling like maybe I was that bad that even those professionally helped people in the head got sick of me. I know things in my life are better than most, sometimes when I am in that state I just don’t see the good in anything. I’m at least glad I’m not in the state I was in a few years back, so at least things are looking up.

Thanks, I’ll let you know. ;) I think there will be a major rush to interview this person, even non-journalists. ;) Speaking of if you had a choice where would you go?

@Lena Mesenich Maybe so, he would need to do some convincing though. Suppose I wouldn’t even though teeth are pretty much bones. Suppose we can agree there is a time to talk about stuff like that, I mean if you had an actual medical issue such as falling on a land mine you wouldn’t talk about how you can see your innards. I suppose medical reactive today is more advanced that it was 100 years ago, at least today that person would more than likely survive. Not so much back then.

@Bente Genhodder, @Francisco Escudeiro I am an old man, even listening to this idiot make this claim cost me precious braincells. If I engaged this further I think my brain would have disappeared and all my blood would have evaporated.

@Z I see what you mean, one of my officers just had to eat pineapples all the time. Every single meal he ate just to have pineapple in it. We had joked he might just waste away without the stuff, maybe there is some truth to that after all.

@Elin of the Banks of the Bán River Yeah, I've stumbled upon the weather reports for Leuda ... luckily, Ritu's there, so unless something we shouldn't pronounce happens, you'll be safe.

@Anastasija Kladnov After that experience, I'd probably feel the same. Yet, if I may be very frank, I wouldn't question myself, if I were you, but much rather the people "helping" me. Or, if it may be a coincidence, that the only really competent person you've managed to talk to without getting ridiculed was from the Visayan Confederation - perhaps, other places might just have different standards. (This doesn't even mean, that they must be bad in Bolrieg; maybe you would already have found someone competent outside Shadforad. Differences existing within Lillorainen as well.)

Wonderful! :) Now, I don't know if that would require international attention, unless there are really many people from different nations involved ... :D I can't help it, but to be frank, your example sounds suspiciously specific, almost like you can name some example of where this happened. Maniacs like this are quite a thing around these parts - might it be the same where you are?

@Prince Starnalf Karlolov Indeed, there was quite a time when the medical standards were much lower. If we had dealt with the COVID pandemic the same way we did during the Cholera pandemic in the mid-19th century, this place would certainly look differently ...

Valência Conceição Holy Catholic State of Portugal

@Anastasija Kladnov Well, I've been teaching myself HTML and computer programming. It's hard, but also quite fun once you get it. Other than that, I haven't really done anything special.

@Lena Mesenich Nice! Did you go by yourself, or with some friends?

Yeah, when it comes to foreign languages (or culture in general), our countries are polar opposites. As you might already know, foreign books and media are banned in Portugal, and so is foreign travel, so there's not really any opportunity for the average Portuguese to pick up other languages.

In addition, our knowledge of STEM is an absolute joke, due to the Church's hostility against academia and sciences. So knowing even a bit about computers makes you a nerd around these parts. Unlike some other countries though, it isn't a gender thing in Portugal—the guys have it no better than us. At least that's something we can be proud of. :P

As for mental health treatment in Portugal, that's a joke as well... if you can even get it in the first place. Most people don't believe that mental illness exists—in their eyes, it means somebody is possessed by demons. And if you asked any priest here, he'd tell you to get an exorcism.

@Bente Genhodder You mean my "OK boomer" comment? Yeah, I'm getting quite tired of Francisco and his constant moralizing lectures. Unfortunately, where I'm from, people like him are the rule, not the exception. It's a good thing most Portuguese don't have Internet, or you'd be seeing Francisco x 10 000 000. :P

REPLY

Francisco Escudeiro Holy Catholic State of Portugal

@Lena Mesenich So you must be a witch, then? Because sorcery is the only possible way I see, that anyone could resist the Satanic pull of academia.

You were not around in 1971 to see what the Marxist thugs did to our Church and country, but I was, and it was a horrible and dangerous time for Christians. The communists would beat up innocent women and children, and kill priests just for doing their God-given jobs. And the universities were behind it all—they were the breeding-grounds for the red plague. But thankfully, God sent us a hero in our leader Afonso Salazar, to lead Portugal back to the one true faith, like a lighthouse leads ships to safety.

@Bente Genhodder And how do you make the cars more efficient? You give them all sorts of fancy technology, like electronic fuel injection and catalytic converters. Sounds good on paper, but the added complexity means more parts that could break, as well as shorter overall life. So for the emissions you manage to decrease from each car, you end up producing more at the factory, since each car will have to be replaced more often. In addition, this does not solve the problem of traffic congestion. For that, there is no real alternative but to ban individual car ownership.

Also, having a false education is worse than having no education at all. In the Holy Catholic State, we consider the quality of knowledge to be more important than the quantity. So the Church takes great care to make sure all facts come from a reliable source such as the Holy Bible, and not a Satan-worshipping fraudster like Galileo.

@Kipper Woofler Nonsense, there are no "other religions". Catholic Christianity is the one true faith. Anything else is heresy.

@Valência Conceição Sounds interesting, I suppose if it's going to be a growing field over there you might be at the forefront of things.

@Lena Mesenich I do accept for the most part it was the people that were "helping" that I think were doing the harm. Just sometimes I have doubts is all, I'm sure others would feel similar if that happened. As for here overall the mental health field is more or less completely ignored by our healthcare system, with most Bolriegians not seeing any use for it. That only leaves those who operate privately, who from what I experienced are friends with those who did make things miserable for me in the first place. They were ok to take my money though, suppose I didn't really know any better. Don't get me wrong the healthcare system in Bolrieg for the most part works really well, we have advanced treatment for most other ailments people have. Not sure if this is at the expense of mental health or not. Speaking of which what is the system like over there?

Probably not, but one can always hope if the series is good enough. As for the specific incident you might get a lot of the "no comment", in your career. ;) Saying that, we do have many instances of people who behave like this. I imagine there are similar people over there.

@Bente Genhodder Indeed it would, I would invest in the start up if needed, who knows you might make it big.

@Lena Mesenich I might agree on that, I remembered the last major flu pandemic to hit the world. Millions died and it wasn't a pleasant way to go at least. I'm glad my great nephew has a good handle on things,

@Bente Genhodder It was said to my face, although it wont surprise me if it was also said on this internet box as well.

@Francisco Escudeiro I'd say the Orthodox Church is the true Faith, the Catholic Church has quite often been involved in corrupt practices. Anyways nothing wrong with education as long as it is taught correctly, I helped manage to keep our Universities marxist-free when I was Regent. The problem is not education itself but who is allowed to teach there.

@Valência Conceição There isn't much use to that field I think. After all we have been around for thousands of years at least and haven't needed. Either go to Church or just get on with it, this is how Bolriegians deal with things. The few people who do work in that field here are about as much use as a chocolate ashtray on a burning motorcycle. Evidence it is not needed here.

@Eiko Michori I hear you also need a wheelchair, my advice to you use it to speed down the hill. It is great fun, it can be hard to go back up but it is good exercise. You can also try making homemade rockets, also fun and the boredom will go away.

@Anastasija Kladnov The healthcare system in general and mental healthcare in particular is quite good in here. Sure, we could use a few more doctors and psychiatrists and all that, but it's lightyears away from a complete disaster. There is also universal healthcare, so you won't be ruined financially by just seeing a doctor.

Oh, yes. Just from Nienhagen - the guy randomly threatening people with a toy gun (a safe way to win the Darwin Award in a country with our weaponization rate), the old lady finishing every sentence with "... or else, we'll all be dead! Keep that in mind!", or, my favorite, the guy in a café refusing to pay for his cake and threatening to blow the café up with a hand grenade which was extremely obviously a perfume bottle shaped like a grenade, and then argued with the cops upon arrival. And I've been there in all three cases. I believe, that every society produces its fair share of people who, one should think, would need to be locked up and the key thrown away.

@Prince Starnalf Karlolov Yeah, sometimes, things get better at times.

@Valência Conceição I took a few friends along. We were having quite a bit of fun!

Yeah, our countries do seem to be polar opposites at basically anything. Yours is extremely technophobic, mine is extremely technocratic. I'd probably get more culture shocks than I'm physically capable of bearing, if I ever came over. And vice versa. :D

@Francisco Escudeiro Or much rather, sorcery is the only possible way I see, that everyone is just magically a Marxist once they enter a university.

Seriously, as you've obviously never seen a university from inside (can't hold that against you, considering the policies of the country you're from) and base your entire "knowledge", for a given definition of the term, on hearsay, here's some slightly more reliable hearsay. From my experience, there are quite a few folks which questionable ideas in university, but at least here in Nienhagen (and probably anywhere else in Lillorainen), they are an absolute fringe phenomenon one can easily ignore. The vast majority of the folks I've met consists of totally average people with average views, or maybe no political standpoints altogether. As for myself, I got myself a Party membership card once I turned 16, I know the Party's doctrine (which is mandatory lecture in Lillorainian schools), and I've never believed anything else than the prevailing set of ideas to be suitable for this country. You might not like these ideas, because they promote a strongly educated, technologically literate society that doesn't make us look like we're still stuck in the Viking Age - but quite frankly, that's your problem, not mine.

@Anastasija Kladnov It's still gonna be a long time until I get there ... :D

@Prince Starnalf Karlolov Yeah ... as useful as the internet may be, it does have its down sides as well.

@Valência Conceição I was actually referring to your question about homework, which you seem to have the same aversion against as I do. :D But yeah, I'm already starting to feel like Lena and I are trying to discuss with a wall. But yeah, ten million more of that sort ... no thank you. :D

@Francisco Escudeiro Sure, cars aren't the same as they were forty years back, but neither are factories - pollutant filters are a thing that exists; the times where it was impossible to walk through an industrial area without one's white shirt turning black are long since over. And if you want to get rid of individual traffic, you have to provide alternatives - and indeed, public transport is getting better and better overall, and more and more people use it. Then again, given Lillorainen's strong automotive culture on the one hand, and remote rural areas where the extension of public transport would be unprofitable on the other, we'll probably never get rid of cars entirely.

On the rest ... no comment.

@Clara Österreich-Toskana Indeed, it was him. I'm pretty sure, that if it were possible to upload images here, he wouldn't be the only one interested in seeing them. ;)

Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Until there's a new, proper factfile, everything you might need to know can be found here. Thank you. #RetconOfDoom (Very late update, 2020/08/30 - it's still going on ...)

Factbook completion will occur when hell freezes over and this nation is basically what happens at 3 AM when I overdose on Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Game of Thrones. Trans rights or you're getting kneecapped.
Center-right largely-absolute monarchy populated by the majority-pagan descendants of a mix of Vikings, Iron Age German rednecks and the odd shipwreck survivor coming into its own on the world stage during the final stages of a 32-year watershed moment under the watchful eye of an emperor who was never supposed to be one. Strict MT, current year though lore posts are generally asynchronous. Brettain is a catchall demonym, flag waifu by Polish Prussian Commonwealth, NS stats not canon.

@Lena Mesenich We have the same type of healthcare system, Prince Starnalf had actually laid down the groundwork for this system when he was Regent. Then perfected under His Grand Majesty. But therapy and stuff like that isn’t covered and just is seen as a waste of time.

I wonder how he managed to keep safe like that? As for that woman it could depend in the context, if she was talking about trying to nuke a super volcano with the intention of causing it to erupt then perhaps she might have a point. ;) The last person was just taking the cake in my opinion. ;) Then again you might have heard about the ice cream fight me and my brother had a while back.

@Bente Genhodder Best of luck to you in fulfilling your dream.

@Lena Mesenich Indeed that is the case, even if some of the people want to visit hospitals are those who feel a bit sad.

@Bente Genhodder I concur with that statement, here I was thinking I was just too old to understand half the rubbish on-the-line of the internet box.

@Clara Österreich-Toskana, @Severin V. Harrumph.

@Anastasija Kladnov Yeah, the latter part is probably a cultural thing. It might change in the future, it might not. Time will tell. I won't judge.

As to the first guy, probably because it was a sunny and clear day, so everyone could see, that it was just a toy gun. Do the same thing during dawn or in night, and you'll safely win the Darwin Award. As for the woman, yes, in such a case, I would consider an according warning entirely reasonable, but I do think, that the advice to check, if the fruits at the market stall are really as fresh as they're claimed to be, hardly warrants an apocalyptic-level warning. ;) And yeah, he was. Although he probably just wanted to have his cake and eat it, too. ;) And yes, I remember having heard about the ice cream fight. Might not be considered funny by those who were around, but as a story to hear about from safe distance, it was absolutely legendary. :D

@Prince Starnalf Karlolov Probably not exactly hospitals, but much rather doctors' practices ...

@Anastasija Kladnov Thank you! At least, there seems to be quite a bit of a demand even in this place, the most common instruction for getting to is, "Go to Bumfuck Nowhere, then turn right." :D

@Prince Starnalf Karlolov Understanding it is actually pretty easy, no matter your age. You see, back in the day, every village or town had its own local idiot, the one guy (or girl) hanging around on the village square and telling their wild cuck-and-bull stories to everyone. That wasn't much of a deal, because everyone could just ignore them and move on. But when the internet came, the village idiots of the world didn't only find a place to gather, but also a platform to tell their nonsense to the entire world, in a manner that's notably less easy to just ignore. Once you understand this, there's actually nothing left to wonder about anymore.

It should be pretty clear these evangelical "bishops" being harbored by our enemies are propped up by them as well. Their "movement" against the "hypocrisy" of the monarchy is funded by foreign neoliberal powers. A1 will be publishing an exposé on these frauds soon, stay tuned!

@Lena Mesenich: You imagine the cute bunny-eared woman I call my beloved snuggling into me, but truth being told, I snuggled into her. I don't like storms and thunder.
Today was calmer, though. Forecast says, that we should watch out on Sunday.
