@Éadrom unfortunately, it actually stands for digital audio workstation, though i'm sure i could spell out "you're cute" on my screen in MIDI commands and tell you what it sounds like ;D. the short version is "computer make happy noises so money printer go brrr" and the long version is that it's essentially a near-infinitely-capable program for from-scratch multitrack audio recording, production, mixing and editing that can be controlled and fed input by either USB/MIDI-standard devices & instruments, anything with your average 3.5mm audio jack, or just a keyboard & mouse if you're a noob or a masochist. it's not as insanely complex as i make it sound, though, i got into modular synthesizers and mostly analog tape-based stuff as a complete beginner at 16 since an acquaintance of mine was clearing it out of his basement. i needed a hobby, among a lot of other things at that age, and i was already into computers & music separately so it was a fairly natural transition into combining the two. steep learning curve, though, but the challenge made it fun.

...and the bolrieg moment is still ongoing, i see. cringe.

Stumbled across this place while looking through some of the less-traveled parts of the internet, and was pleasantly surprised to see some familiar faces from the Piffle days. Well, familiar names at least.

Name's Kristalinn in case you didn't read the username. I write for an automotive magazine in the winter, compete in rally events in the summer, and work at my tiny town's Comic Shop year round. I see there's some fast-moving discourse here today.

@Kristalinn Wainwright Thanks, just at times I don’t feel I can do anything right. My singing career has been quiet as of late, my attempt at acting in a foreign film went down in failure. I wanted to study history and was rejected because I was too stupid to even bother with teaching. I even tried modelling for a bit but realised who would want to see me and assumed I’d actually damage sales. A few things that had been happening over the past few years.

Sorry about all this, I appreciate your help I do. I know I might eventually find success, I just feel like a mess at times.

@Admin - Lilly Fischer I know I'm new here, but I read the articles on what happened to Piffle and I'd be hesitant to take any risks with this platform. On a more design-oriented note I'm not sure how well pictures would mesh with the posting format here. Then again, I'm guessing you'd be going for a smaller thumbnail and not the big portraits from Piffle.
Hey, you know what, that might actually be a solution. If the pictures were that small it wouldn't be easy to have much aside from your face, so maybe we could avoid any issues by requiring that it only be your face. Then again, not everyone's going to want to share their face here, so maybe also allow for no profile pic or a picture that isn't of a person? I dunno, this will need studying.

Also, gotta respect your commitment to privacy.

@Admin - Lilly Fischer I don't think adding profile pictures would be an awful idea. There just needs to be better enforcement and more clear rules for what is and isn't allowed. If the size limit is small enough it might encourage people to just show their face rather than full body photos that have the potential of going down a slippery slope.

if anything, it permanently traumatizes you with regards to sex
