Palace of Saint Marie
Montrose, Mervay
The Castle of Saint Marie; One of the castles of the House of Devienne, but located away of the city. The area around Montrose and the valley has always been a location where a few states and castles could be found, in fact the citadel in middle of the city was also one of the homes of the Royal Family of Mervay, House of Mervay, but; that wasn't important at the moment. The castle itself was a marvel to look and live in, it's open garden which was located straight in the center of that beautiful building, up in the stairs of the garden, away of the halls from where the guests entered; there's where the main event would happen for the night, up there was where their dance hall would be. It certainly was a walk, however, even in a night as cold as this and the fact that they were blessed with the night full of stars and a shower later in the night; it would be a crime to not take advantage of the gardens and show not only the beauty of the castle and the architecture of the nation and it's autonomous territory; but also of the beautiful night mother nature gave us for the night, plus the fact that there won't be snow for a few days as it is expected to get to the south in next thursday and just in time for the last two days of the carnival.
As soon as they get all over the walking from most of the castle to it's upper levels, through the garden's route; all guests would find themselves with the massive ballroom where they will find themselves invested for the night until they are led to the balconies for the meteor shower. It was a wonderful place certainly; the castle was accomodated for the tonight's ball, with lounges being prepared, the tailors of House of Devienne prepared for any emergency regarding the clothes of the guests both national and from abroad, hairdressers and medical teams prepared, catering made by the castle staff and of course, an considerable amount of security from the Royal Guard was present. Tonight was an special day as the event had always the presence of the Mervayan Elite: The Royal Family, noble families, aristocrats, industrialists or businesspeople, members of the arts and sciences, military and government officers to name a few; it was without a doubt the place where the nation's high society was always present and yet, we still need to mention the hosts that were selected to host this year's ball.
To many in the Mervayan High Society, the fact your family is selected to be the organizers of the next Masquerade Ball, an important tradition in the Mervayan Culture, it is an honour and pleasure; that was the same case for the House of Devienne, which was the family of the Grand Duchy of Ardens, an autonomous territory of the nation and former kingdom some centuries ago; had the honour to host this ball and it was clear they made sure everything was perfect.
The event of course had to be modified for these difficult times regarding sanitary protection, which had to be further increased just in case alongside the security as the Royal Guard had to escort the guests from abroad in order to make sure they got safely to Montrose.
For many guests, this was an moment they hoped would be magical, many things could happen tonight; behind those masks that covered their faces or their eyes, there was always that feeling of how this night would go, some like the woman of the black dress, whose mask certainly combined with her eyes could only hope that what was going to happen after the Devienne Family and The Royal Family made their apperances and officially declared the ball open, would go perfect as she was as nervious as the man besides her; her boyfriend more exactly, the first time he will meet face to face her family and get themselves into what a serious step of their relationship such as this. That was one of the many stories that would happen during the night.
A Night to Remember is to be for sure.
