Since I do actually want to get this whole love triangle shitshow properly sorted out, can Nate not be homicidal (or at least not very homicidal) when we do it?

Years of nothing but living in Ari's shadow and being defined solely by her existence and suddenly being given the chance to do something on his/her own for once, mistaking a sudden euphoria for something deeper, acting on impulses without any sort of sensible control because of point b, just a whole mass of things.

Ouch. That's... yeah, that was never going to end well. Also, it's interesting. I'd always intended Marco to be the yin to Paris' yang, a fucked-up amoral tyrant with a little good left in his heart that he'd really have to look hard to find compared to Paris balancing him out and being a generally decent dude, but with the Pawris arc developing him more as a character and my starting Marco on the long, hard road to redemption they seem to have become equally grey in a moral sense. The only difference is Marco's going to get better, whereas Paris is spiraling downward.

Oh, yeah, forgot I decided that Patyu's probably trans and so atop the basic euphoria there's some gender euphoria involved, even though early on it was so deeply buried that s/he just absolutely lost it and had a full-on breakdown. But I'm not sure yet, since that wasn't originally something I planned the character to be.

And hopefully they can end up getting Paris back in a good place, but... royal families do tend to be fucked up, don't they?

Probably not, since I'm not bringing Paris. I want him to have his long-deserved turn in the spotlight back home. Marco could go for a therapy incubus both for gratuitous yaoi and for character development, but I haven't decided on that yet.

Nate joins Airborne, gets shot down one day, has to mercy kill his best friend who he doesn't remember anymore, and spends five months in a POW camp before liberating it himself. He gets a pretty prestigious award for it and becomes a specops guy. He helps Ross out again, and becomes a Delta employee. He longs to get back in the game, but can't. So then he goes to the Oomiya Gala, and meets Patyu. He likes Patyu, and teaches him English/math/spy stuff. So eventually he goes to the Shindig, meets Patyu again, and, after months of isolation with no real friends, decides to try to ask him out. But Ross tries to seduce the roll, and Nate has to abandon that plan to help the roll emotionally. Then, while he's away, Paris seduces the roll and [REDACTED].

Nate has done a metric ass ton of stuff for Ross, for his country, for Patyu, but nobody cares about him and he's constantly thrown to the side for someone else. He doesn't feel loved, he feels like everyone around him is always trying to use him, and when he vents these frustrations, everyone acts like he's the bad guy.
